China King Buffet

This place I sthe worst ever. Dry food, terrible service. And rude customer service. The kids that was working the bar were very rude and the owner was also. I could not believe they wanted to charge $11 when we expressed there is no food out on the bar and what was there was old and dry. Do not come to this place! It's not worth the time. They are robbing people.

Don't waste your time nor your money, very terrible and rude customer service. They had kids running the place. It took 2 people to get our drink order, and a 10 minute wait before they even tried to bring us our drinks. The food was old and hard to chew. Really looked forward to eating here and was very vvery very disappointed.

PLEASE, PLEASE! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME! I recently had stomach surgery and could only eat certain foods on the bar. No fried or spicy food. I recently visited twice before, although the food was very slow coming out on the buffet and not that hot, driving over an hour to get there we were willing to wait and staff (2kids) was slow, food was fairly decent. HOWEVER, tonight's visit was AWFUL! The bar was over half empty, food was cold, they never refilled most of the buffet trays AND WHAT THEY DID refill were the spicy foods, I could not eat that. Everything I asked for that I could eat on the bar, they took over 20 min. to tell me, we are out of it or it's too late to cook it. I just waited by the kitchen door to see if anyone would come out with an answer. I saw that the kitchen floor was filthy and no gloves handling the food! Still, they had 2 hours before closing time. I decided I just got tired of waiting and did not eat anything, tasting only one string bean and it was cold when I first got there. I explained to Owners as their kids were interpreters between the mother(owner) and myself, that I did not eat. The owner said just because I took a plate off the bar, I wasted food, and I had to pay the full price for the bar and if I did not she would call the police. I explained the money was not a problem; the rest of my party not that satisfied with their buffet food, however, they decided to eat and they paid for their meal. Again, I had only certain things on the bar I could eat, but they never replenished the bar with those foods. As a person of color, I felt humiliated when a policewoman arrived to settle a dispute over a $10.43 meal. The OWNERS were very rude and talked among each other pointing and screaming so loudly that the police had to ask them to stop it and explain the customer could not eat the buffet and explain to them my issues with the bar. They got very rude with the police and CALL THE POLICE ON HER! Who does that?? The police asked us to leave, in spite of their screaming, she clearly represented the law and would be the only officer there and she canceled the other police call made by the owner. They were extremely disrespectful and rude to her as a law officer! The owner tried to block the door and not let us out the door because he wanted another policeman to come, however, the officer present said let them go! I am reporting this to local newspapers and television stations. I worked 27 years in a law firm, I will discuss this further as to my rights as a customer and the rudeness the owners displayed, I felt profiled and very embarrassed at almost 60 years old, having the police called on me! This is far from over! They also had a bunch of to-go orders being filled, but never put food on the buffet on a regular base and expected everyone to eat cold food and pay full price. There were customers besides our table that complained of the wait on the buffet food and ask us what do you think they are doing back there? PLEASE BELIEVE ME THEY ARE VERY NASTY, RUDE PEOPLE and DO NOT DESERVE TO BE OPEN! Please read their YELP restaurant Routine inspections dated back to May 2012! Inspections violations of filth!!! If I read the inspection health reports prior; I would never visited this place!!

Got here at around 5 pm there was hardly any food out and the food that was out was ice cold and all the rice was rock hard on the top. Our waiter was maybe 11 years old. They never filled any food except the sweet and sour chicken right before we left. The food that was available was not that good. Would not recommend this place to anybody.

Really tasty food, very very clean. Amazing shrimp. The buffet is only $4.99 a lb to carry out, so it's a really good deal. Egg foo young was best I ever tasted. Enjoyed it immensely and will probably go back next time I'm in town.

Best chinese food in Tappahannock! Sweet staff also! Their General Tso Chicken and Lomein are my favorites. Their buffet is always fresh because as people come in they fill areas needed, or when requested!

Hard working family owned restaurant with tasty food. The family was very nice and recommended me a few dishes, though I found that everything was delicious, especially the braised beef tendon and chicken skewers. This place is a lovely takeout spot that I feel great giving business to.

The selection, the quality of the food, the service, and the value for the money all leave something to be desired. There are no spicy dishes, or at least there weren't when I went. The men's room was out of paper towels. If you can make it to Warsaw, I strongly recommend the China Inn instead. At least they have a container of chopsticks out, so you don't have to ask for them.

Went here for Father's Day to try. They had newly reopened the buffet so I was excited to try this place that I never knew existed. The hot fresh food was good. There was a lot that hadn't been swapped and had obviously been sitting there for awhile (cold and dried out looking). There wasn't much on the buffet. But the staples were there that I did like. It was 2 adults and 1 child, 2 diet soda and a kid milk and our Bill was $47.97. I was not expecting that and was quite shocked even though I knew adults were $13.99... was NOT worth almost $50...

Yesterday we arrived at 3:30 and there was hardly any food at the bar. Everything out at the bar was old and scarce. They still haven't replaced any food but the orange chicken and it's been 45 min of being here. DO NOT COME HERE. SAVE YOURSELF NOW!!
