They always have decent selections even though sometimes it means rifling through every rack, nice staff, and it's easy to drop off donations right inside the door. Some days are discounted depending, which I can't remember offhand, so it may be worth a call if you're looking to save a few bucks (senior/military/etc.). There's typically space in the parking lot out front, too.

This location is similarly set up like all of the others I have visited though surprisingly, I've never been here before! There is a private parking lot right next to a beautiful mural, but there is parking across the street if you're willing to cross that road. Honestly, there weren't too many clothes or shoes out but I did find other great buys on this visit, so I must give at least 4 stars. Also, a small selection of furniture and jewelry. Electronics are able to be tested, you just have to ask an employee about it.

This is one of my favorite local thrift stores; large and clean store with a good sized inventory of clothing, friendly staffers (especially on the week days), and ample parking. I try to visit once every 4-5 weeks and find that's the sweet spot for a good replenished inventory on women's and children's clothing. Prices may be a little bit higher than other stores (e.g. Hope House) but I feel good about the charity you're getting behind when you shop at any of CHKD stores. The prices on infant and toddler clothes are especially low here and that's a big draw for me. So, where I might pay a tiny bit more for a women's dress, the kids clothing prices are so low that my shopping balances out. Books are also a great deal here. On Tuesdays they offer everything at 25% off! I only have two small gripes; firstly, they staple the price tags to the clothing, which can damage some items if you're not extra careful removing that tag later...and secondly, they don't usually have good quality bags to send you off with (which I now remedy by bringing my own reusable bag).

Like all of the CHKD Thrift Stores the prices here are high relative to other thrift stores in Hampton Roads. A raincoat priced at $16.99, a dress at $8.99, a blouse at $5.99. That's just a sample. Jeans are $5.99, too. The store is full to bursting and it's no wonder--they want retail store prices for well used goods. Every time I come I leave empty handed. It's time for CHKD to re-evaluate why they are in the thrift store business. And please don't ask for a monetary donation from shoppers at the register--you make enough on every purchase.
