Chesapeake Bay Diving Center

My kid's been taking swimming lessons with Coach Troy, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I wish I'd tried this place out before wasting countless hours at swim lesson chains.

Walked into the shop to check it. I wanted to find a dive shop because I'm new to the area. The girl working was helping someone else, but kept saying I don't know when asked questions and making up possible responses. That's definitely something I don't want to hear come out of a dive "professional". I've been diving for over 10 years and am master diver certified. Hearing someone work in a dive shop with very little knowledge of dive gear scares me. This shop also has maybe 2 brands that they offer. No thanks.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like scuba diving, so I signed up for a "Try Scuba" class. It was a wonderful experience!!!! There was a total of 4 students including myself. After a small classroom session, they put us into full scuba gear and put us into a deeper than normal pool. There were 3 instructors keeping an eye on us for 4 students. I had an amazing time!!!!After researching some different dive shops, I decided to go with Chesapeake Bay Dive and Aquatic Center. I am so happy that I did. I just completed my Open Water Certification last weekend. Our instructor, Matt, was incredible. Very meticulous and made me feel very safe. There were two evenings of classroom, 3 pool days, and 2 days at Lake Phoenix (Look at some of the youtube videos. It is awesome). There were ALWAYS instructors keeping an eye on you and making sure that you were safe. For 4 students getting certified, there were always at least 3 instructors keeping an eye on you and making sure that you were comfortable. Safety and comfort was extremely important for me. Some of the other dive shops were cheaper, but the professionalism and level of training were the best available. I feel very comfortable for my upcoming trip to the Caribbean. I had an amazing time. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chesapeake Bay Dive and Aquatic Center!!!!

look no further...the best dive shop in virginia beach!!!great staff... friendly, knowledgeable, never too busy to help a customer. their instructors have years of experience, and do a fantastic job, always putting safety first. this shop has an amazing pool, 15' deep and plenty big for everyone, best and biggest in town! they offer amazing dive trips. we have traveled worldwide with this shop. top service, a rated resorts, not the usual dumpy places other dive shops offer in order to increase their profits. these owners really care that you have a 5 star experience.don't forget the dive club! fun, inclusive (not a clique). tons of laughs, tons of fun...before you spend money anywhere else in town...check out the best...first! if you want to learn to dive, purchase gear, and be welcomed with open arms... chesapeake bay dive center is your new dive family! love this place!!bravo bob and malena...

Horrible Customer ServiceI went in last week to sign up for a snorkelling class. I showed up right when they opened. I was first greeted by a young man. When I asked to sign up for the class, he said he had to ask the older man since he was new. The older man came out and I started to explain what class I wanted to sign up for. His cell phone rang and he picked up he call. I could hear he was talking about personal stuff. I could not believe he just kept talking when I was standing there. He obviously did not care about me as a customer. I could tell the young man was uncomfortable as the older man just kept talking on his cell phone. I will never come back to this place even though the reason I tried this place was because of the mostly positive reviews.

Doing specialty certs with CBD. Very friendly staff and great instructor. Will continue to use them for all my training and equipment needs.

My daughter had her first private swim lesson last weekend, and Coach Bryce was amazing! My kid can't wait to come back...she is counting down the days and hours until Saturday is here again. He's working on all my requests (proper breathing, basic strokes, simultaneous hand and leg coordination, etc.). After only 30 minutes, she was gliding, breathing every other stroke...progress made!

Chesapeake Bay Diving Center does not honor the SSI dive system. They make you do repetitive, expensive dives and won't honor other SSI dive centers. Be very careful and go with another dive center. You will not get certified in a timely manner at the cost described!Go somewhere reputable - somewhere that uses PADI.

This place is simply wonderful. I highly recommend coming here for whatever your diving needs are. I got open water certified through this wonderful company and can't tell you how great it was. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and makes sure that you are taken care of. If you want a dive shop that truly cares about you learning and your overall experience then this is your place.

CBDC is an amazing company to work with! Everyone that I encountered went above and beyond with customer service. They made me feel like I was a part of the family. 100% recommend them if you are considering becoming a diver or if you wish to continue with your dive education!
