Cheese It Up

I've not had the best luck with food trucks, but am so glad I tried this one last weekend @ Big Ugly. Our family was dining at a nearby, toddler-unfriendly restaurant so we decided to try out Cheese It Up. They are, by far, the quickest, most reasonably-priced food truck I've found in the area. For $8, I had the caprese appetizer. Their unique twist is what I would call a "tomato soup" drizzle which was delicious! The tomatoes were fresh, huge slices of fresh mozz and it was well-seasoned with salt and basil (I opted for no EVOO). My husband had the $11 Low Country Chicken sandwich which was a very yummy combo of chicken, pimento cheese and tomatoes, served with a pickle spear. It had a flavor reminiscent of buffalo wings without the heat. Pretty darn good! We were definitely happy with our selections and I will not hesitate to order again if I see them out and about.

I had the Tailgater today and it was pretty tasty - it has a sweet BBQ sauce which is good although I prefer spicy. No biggie, I just added some hot sauce. The staff were nice but I do wish they had receipts where you can add a tip if you want without having them ask you out loud and having to say out loud how much to add. I feel since there are only two staff right in front of you, it puts you on the spot. A little uncomfortable. Especially since it's before you even received anything yet. Other than that, they were friendly, especially the gentleman doing the cooking. I had the Buffalo chicken dip before and it was tasty, too!

I'm a huge fan of this food truck! My fellow lovers of all things cheese need to check this one out. I've tried two different sandwiches while the truck was parked at breweries--I used their website and Instagram to track them down. They have a handful of sandwiches which are equally tempting, but also sides such as mac & cheese and buffalo dip. My favorite part is probably the customer service. The staff are so genuine and friendly, wanting to ensure you have the best experience. My friend had ordered turkey to add to her traditional grilled cheese, paid for it, and then we stepped away to wait for our food. One of the staff (an owner, I think) got her husband's attention to apologize and let him know that the turkey wasn't fresh enough to serve, so he would refund them for the additional charge. My friends politely declined, insisting they keep the extra couple bucks, but the man really wanted to make it right by giving them the money back. In the end, my friends won out, but I loved to see the genuine concern from staff for correcting the situation and doing the right thing by not serving food he wouldn't be proud to send out.

This truck & it's staff are amazing! They usually have a line yet pump out orders pretty fast. All of the food is tasty but the Apple jack is my favorite.

So I went there today and got a traditional. Your basic grilled cheese can't mess it up right? Well they kinda did. I paid 10$ including tip for a grilled cheese I could have made way better. First it was soggy and no I didn't wait to eat it. Second it has too much cheese, instead of Using cheese on the outside it should just be on the instead. You need to cook the bread longer otherwise you'll have a greasy soggy mess like I had.

The best food truck and best pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich we've ever had. The pesto is amazing!

Came to our neighborhood today! I was able to place a pre-order and select a time and it was ready on the dot! Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Mac and Cheese and Pimento Sip with Pretzel Chips! Fantastic! Fair price for good eats! Also Super friendly people! Hope they return and I hope you have the chance to try their offerings!

We had this food truck come out to our neighborhood recently. It was the first time they came and the first time that I had them. I got the tailgate and buffalo chicken dip. It was super yummy. My husband got the dirty mac n cheese and he said it was great. Give them a try and support local.

We went to the food truck tonight at the Ugly Brewery on battlefield blvd. We were not impressed with the food. I wish it was better. We thought it would be like the grilled cheese place in Norfolk but it wasn't good at all. Sorry guys. Not good.

Delicious! Not much else is needed to say! They have come to my neighborhood a bunch and it's great every time. I've never had a bad experience. Sandwiches and sides are yummy with lots of variety. Veteran owned company
