Cast Iron Catering

After looking at the venders and food trucks for the farmer's market, we were very excited to try this, haven't had good bbq in a while. I asked for my pulled pork sandwich to be separate. This experience wasn't quite what we expected. They had bbq sauce on the higher table where people are ordering which made it very difficult to not set it down. The bbq sauce that I wanted was empty. The beans were ok, they really could have used , at least, salt and pepper. The flavor just wasn't there. The Coleslaw was very good. The meat had the texture that it was previously frozen and it didn't come out hot. I would like to give them a second chance and hope that was just an off day.

My mistake to stop at their truck in Virgina Beach, during a festival. Rude Rude people!! And the food ... well :so disappointed!Charged for nachos with coleslaw??!! It was hard to find the meat on the nachos! And no cheese either! The barbecue sandwich was small and just plain!

The lady in charge today at the Virginia Zoo, was absolutely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Disrespected a potential customer and when confronted, continued to be extremely unprofessional. "I don't need your money because I make enough " were the words out of the ladies mouth to my mother. She said alot more i wont repeat.....Will never recommend.

It's nice to have a different lunch option . So when my job had different food trucks weekly I took advantage of it. This truck is all about the BBQ and they even had a vegetarian option. Now that's equal opportunity. The BBQ jackfruit was gone but I would have loved to sample it because I have heard good things about that fruit. My plate included bbq shredded chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and a piece of cornbread. My favorite was the cornbread. The chicken was fine... I'm not a BBQ professional so I can't rate it either way. The beans had a nice flavor to them. I liked the coleslaw. The guys were friendly, the transaction was smooth. The items that were sold out were already noted on the board. I did inquire about drink specials. I would stop by this truck again and try other items.

Brisket?Got the "brisket" sandwich today. It definitely wasn't smoked. No smoke ring in the meat, it didn't taste smoked and it was dry. It tasted like dry pot roast.

Ordered a mac n cheese bowl with "brisket" and "cornbread." The brisket was tough, dry and maybe not even brisket. It wasn't sliced, it wasn't cuts of brisket, but it was shreds of meat. The meat seemed to be frozen and reheated, it made the mac n cheese really greasy. I tried removing it from the bowl, but the amount of grease it left made the mac inedible. The "cornbread" was literally crumbs sprinkled on top. I ordered a "side" of the ranch potato salad to give it a shot and it was more like a sample for $4. The portions were extremely small for the mac n cheese bowl as well. What a waste of $20, yes, $20. The two ladies working the truck seemed lackluster and not interested in anything aside from collecting money. No smiles, no greetings just really lacking personality. I'll never give this place another chance and hope people read these reviews prior to spending their hard earned money.

Waited in line for 45 minutes to be told sorry our pretzel maker isn't working. It's on your damn menu. Cross that item out if it's not available. Extremely poor customer service. Don't bother stopping at this food truck. Heard many other complaints from other customers at the event.

I had high hopes but was disappointed. I ordered the brisket which was nothing more than cut up beef cubes covered in Sweet Baby Ray's. The Mac N' Cheese was the worst part. The noodles were overcooked, mushy, and covered in a very watery cheese sauce. Like most food trucks, I paid a lot for a little. But unlike most food trucks, the quality of food was very poor.

Cassandra, First I would like to thank you for all of your help, patience and timely responses when we were in the planning stages of our event. I'd also like to say that your daughter was extremely friendly and patient. However, your husband was quite rude not just to our staff, but some of our guests. One of our guest came up and asked for a hotdog; he immediately demanded their ticket. Not sure if he was having a "day" or what. Another guest came up and he asked if they wanted, mustard, ketchup, relish, etc.. They said yes, and then asked if there were onions.. They were told.. "You are asking for a little much, you're kind of pushing it" Those who did order hotdogs said that they were either cold or lukewarm. I did have the pork bbq and it was delicious, a few others said the same, only complaint about that was the portion sizes were not worth $13. Coleslaw was also NOT offered to anyone until we went over and said something about it. Chicken bbq was out by 2pm.Towards the end of the event( about 30-45 mins prior to 3pm), we did have extra tickets, so we did walk and give some to people in the park.. 10 minutes prior to 3pm, orders were no longer taken and those who tried to order were told too bad. I understand that the truck had to leave at 3pm, but to not take 5 orders is a little ridiculous when each order seemed to come out within moments. Those 5 people could've ordered and received food in enough time for the truck to still leave at 3pm. When I asked your husband about it, he said that they were only booked until 3pm and they had to leave (it was 2:52pm). I told him the time and that they still had a 8 mins left that they could serve. I was given attitude and basically told too bad, not his problem and that we shouldn't have walked the park to give away tickets. No, we did not have our total expected amount show, but we should've had the option to take the food that was paid for with us.I hope this to be a learning experience for any future events.

The bbq nachos were so bad that I made a yelp account for this review. Somehow worse than velveeta with sweet baby rays and gas station slaw. The pork was almost a paste and tasted old. The whole thing was lukewarm at best. Two hours later, I had a terrible stomach ache, having only eaten a third of these nachos. Hands down the worst bbq I've had in virginia, maybe ever.
