Your spot is cool and the indoor skate room is great, but your customer service skills suck.Look, I know a buttload of people have blown up your spot asking about any and all SB Dunk Lows. And I already read your entire IG post regarding the raffle for the Grateful Deads. But when I tell your employee I already know that the shoes are not on site but would love to see them in person, that f**king employee has NO F**KING RIGHT to act like a total jerk. I came in on 7/22/20 around 3p. When I told him that I entered the email raffle already and he replied with, "Then I know you didn't read the email," then shrugged his shoulders & gave me a look like I've been berating him for hours, that employee needs to be dealt with. That kid may be stressed and tired of constantly fielding SB Dunk questions, but he's no g****mn medical professional saving lives. All I'm asking about are a pair of overpriced shoes. I didn't demand to buy them on the spot, I didn't ask if they're in stock. I didn't even ask about the raffle because I ALREADY F**KING ENTERED THE F**KING RAFFLE before stepping foot in your store. I merely said I'd love to see the shoes in person, but your employee decided to be a g****mn d**k about it.COVID or not, tired of fielding questions about SB Dunks or not, that is unprofessional and flat out rude. I'd be fine with him blowing up if I was being rude to him, but I wasn't and I was simply trying to make conversation. Thanks to your d**khead employee I'm not buying as much as a hat from Cardinal ever again. And my friend, who witneseed the exchange, will never buy from Cardinal, either. He talks more s**t about poor customer service than I do, so this crap experience will spread quickly. The staff at Skate Supply is much cooler. It's not possible on Yelp, but ZERO stars. JV

So I'm 36 and never been on a skateboard. I announced that and Ben took me in and hooked me up and even help me put the complete together. Patient and thorough. Sorry about blowing up the bathroom.

I really dig the vibe when walking into Cardinal. The employee there was super helpful with the millions of questions I had asked him. He took the time out to stop what he was doing to assist me and it was much appreciated. I was pleased by how the store was laid out, and easy to maneuver through. The only thing I didn't like was that most of the items I looked at didn't have prices on them, and I felt bad to keep asking how much things were. What really caught my attention was the dip stereo system they have behind the counter with a vintage record player. I'm dying to have a setup like that one day haha. I recommend when supporting your locals, stop by this skate shop, you won't be disappointed.

So, I used to skate as a teenager. Not well and not very long, so I wanted to take a shot at it again. Well my boyfriend offered to buy me a board and I was gonna order one because I know NOTHING about it and I was nervous. But being eager to start we found this gem and went. This place is amazing. The staff are super laid back and very helpful. I got an amazing board and lots of help with what direction i wanna take with my skating. It really made me even more excited after leaving. I'll be coming here as long as I'm in Virginia for skating stuff.

I've stopped by this place often, to pick up birthday gifts or do holiday shopping. The customer service there WAS awesome. The guys are super helpful. I've always liked seeing kids outside, staying out of trouble, skateboarding. That never bothered me.BUT recently, WOW. I called in asking if they had something in stock. The guy was extremely rude and told me what I asked for was not the kind of stuff they carried. "That's the kind of stuff you get at Zumiez or Coastal [Edge]. We don't bring that stuff here." I could only imagine how bad this could of been if I decided to stop by and asked the question in person. For his sake, I let it go. It wasn't worth my time. This was my second local skate shop I went to and its becoming more clear why I should shop online: I don't have to deal with the terrible customer service. What's really crazy is that the shoe I asked for, I actually bought from them earlier in the year.I'm all for supporting local businesses, but after that I may have to reconsider...

Jason, the owner of this shop, is amazing! I went in on a Saturday about 20 minutes before closing time. There was 1 person working and 2 people hanging out and talking to him. The man working (I didn't know he was the owner then.) immediately asked if I needed help. I explained that my daughter was turning 13 on Monday and wanted her first board. He asked me a few questions about what she wanted to do and showed me some choices. He told me to bring her in and he'd help her. I came back on Wednesday with her. There were 2 teens skating in the parking lot. (Bonus points for giving kids a place to have fun and stay out of trouble.) He remembered me when we came in. He asked her the same questions he'd asked me. He realized she'd NEVER ridden a skateboard before. He took her outside to the parking lot and spent about 30 minutes teaching her how to skate on 3 of his own personal boards. He pulled 3 new boards from his displays for her to test on the rug. Another customer had come in, so he helped him while she tested the feel of the boards. Once she chose her board, Jason showed her the wheel choices for the type she wanted. He offered to assemble it for us, but she wanted to spray paint the bottom and add her own decals first. He showed her how to put everything together and told us to come back if we needed help. I love supporting small, locally-owned businesses like this one. I received some of the most outstanding customer service I've experienced in a long time. If you're looking for a new board, parts, shoes, or clothing, you won't be disappointed with this establishment.

I got my very first board here for my birthday. The guy who was working was super nice and was very welcoming and not intimidating. He never tried to push me into any sales and set up my board for me. I love how friendly everyone was and took his time explaining what I needed for a complete set-up. Before I left he told me if I ever needed anything even if it was to just tighten my trucks to feel free and he would do it for me. I got a Hockey board with standard thunder trucks and reds with spitfire 53mm wheels and cardinal's hardware. Love the board and I'm so glad I got into skating. Support your local skate shop.
