Out of Fried Chicken which is a substantial part of their menuVery nice wait staff, the fish was very well done.See below for more detailsMy daughter, grandson, and I decided to stop in.When you open the door to Captain K's you're greeted with a straight line counter on your left that's mainly full of microwaves, giant jars of banana peppers, croutons, and other things that they're actively cooking with. On the right you've got a set of six bench tables. There's lots of paintings on the walls and a bright ocean color scheme. The air is full of oil as there's no separation between the fryers and the seating area. They also have multiple chalkboards on the walls where they've written a la carte items, combo items, and other things that they don't have on their actual menu. So if you're going to order make sure to look beyond the menu to at least three chalkboards scattered through the restaurant. There were no kids meals. My daughter and I decided on Fried Chicken but at 1:00 on a Sunday they were out. no plans on making more. This was disappointing because it was the only non fish item other than shrimp.The side items offered were four types of potatoes, mac and cheese, coleslaw and potato salad. My daughter decided to order two pieces of Whiting as fish and chips. I ended up being uninspired by the menu and decided not to get anything.There are no bathrooms.Wait staff were very friendly. They connected with us and seemed to be nice people. Some pretty good singing along with the radioFood took about 15 mins to cook, not too long to wait.The fries were terrible. Although hot, they were soft and under cooked - that mealy feeling of potato that wasnt internally cooked enough to have some fluff. It didn't help that the fries made my grandson cry. He looked so tricked when we told him it was a fry and handed it to him. he held it in his hand, cried, and threw it. That sort of encapsulates our overall feeling of the friesThe whiting was very good. Nice thick sandwich. The lettuce was fresh, crisp, and a generous portion. Easily the best part of going here which is important since it was the main entree.

Captain K has great lunch specials, perfect portions, and fresh food. The menu has a wide selection to satisfy your entire family. Homemade tarter and cocktail sauce is always a go to.

I love this place...... Love the fish and fries combo and the liver and gizzard combo...... Well worth your time and money.

I specifically ask not to fry my food hard. Shrimps: undercooked batter mushy and not attached to shrimp Fish: okay but smaller than the original ownersFrench fries; HORRIBLE. They were hard... full of old grease and- could not eat themHush puppies: hard/over cooked like the friesCole slaw: not a full container. New owners dnt know how to prepare food for the public. This is bad. I should have knew better once I walked in but I traveled far to this place. Very disappointed.

it's not like it used to be there under new management. I just ordered there without being there for years. The fish wasn't fried crispy like it usually is neither was the fries. The sauce says they don't have like they used to have which is their special yellow sauce, and the coleslaw don't even taste like it used to, honestly I wouldn't even eat there anymore. They just lost my business because the people who were there before they knew what they were doing. These people just threw some slop in a plate and bag it up and my food smell burnt.

First time trying....The food was good, cheap. but boyyyyy me and my spouse both got sick after. We don't eat beef or pork so I'm not sure how it happened at a seafood restaurant but it will be a hard pass for us

This was my very first (and last) time in the establishment and I ordered fish, scallops, crab cake and fries. my fries were so burnt they looked like sweet potato fries, the scallops were the little scallops you use in a soup or salad (and they were fried) the hushpuppies was ok but wussup with the corn? The shrimp n fish was greasy, the whole meal was greasy. The lady and the guy are nice approachable people though.

I thought when I told my daughter that we would get Captain K for lunch. That I would be getting fish with oysters and fries. Oh how I was disappointed, I should've know something was wrong when we walked in and I didn't see that beautiful plant. That they had with the long branches growing across the wall. Just thought they had remodeled the place. I didn't see the old lady and the young boy that was usually in there cooking the food. The total menu has changed. The fish was alright but I should've left. Just posting this for people that think it's the same place. Because it's not. I just miss the way the other people that had the other menu.

Wow.!!! Food amazing. Service amazing. Ambiance? Surfer music. I felt like I was in Hawaii and I've never been! Unforgettable food. The best damn food I've ever eaten as far as seafood. I would come back every day if I could afford it!!! Affordable food but I'm saying. I have been to a lot of restaurants but this one is the greatest!

great cod Po'boy. Came with fries , tartar sauce, coleslaw. Fish was fresh and hot .
