Staying at the Marriott for a meeting, I ventured down into the cavernous dungeon of Capo Capo for dinner. I wanted to keep things light, so I ordered only two small items, the Fall Harvest salad and the Arancini. The Harvest salad was perfectly fresh and balanced with mixed greens, roasted butternut squash, crisp apples, pumpkin seeds, tart cranberries, goat cheese, and a bright cider vinegarette. A nice way to eat something healthy and flavorful. The Arancini was deep and rich with smooth risotto covered in crispy panko, with mushroom and truffle flavors atop a tangy marinara sauce. No need to get a steak or anything heavy here at Capo Capo - you can order light and still get a great meal!

Great service nice menu food was very flavorful. My table of 4 we all enjoyed our meals. This was a night for a Shrine ball weekend I did expect the restaurant to be packed as members came into town. I made a reservation by phone on about 2 hrs prior to arrival at the hotel. Prices were about average for the downtown area. Really, NICE bar area and good drinks. I'd like to see if Capo Capo had a happy hour during the week as well.

We went to Capo Capo for a birthday dinner. We liked it a lot. Good was very good and Service was also very good. The waiter was personalable and funny! Nice, quiet table in away from the bar, which we loved. Everything was prepared perfectly. The Gnocchi was great, and the Tuna was exceptional. It lost a star for the really unfriendly and abrupt hostess!!! The first person you met should be very friendly and this woman was anything but! Maybe an off night. All in all, a very good night.

Solid three stars. One for good food quality, another for attentive service, and ambience is fine. Nothing super amazing. Probably going to make rounds to other spots rather then repeat here.

We were drawn in during Norfolk restaurant week because their menu was enticing. I am glad that I didn't look at reviews prior to making our reservation because I probably would not have given them the chance at all. Location is pretty easy since there is a parking structure right above, however it does cost to park. We came in and although atmosphere is cute, service did not match atmosphere. We were barely greeted and the staff seemed a bit chaotic/confused. When we were seated, our server greeted us and she was great. We ordered our three courses right away along with drinks and each course took a very long time. We were there for over 2 hours, which is our main complaint. Drinks took about 20 minutes and then each course had at least a 30 minute period in between finishing and receiving. It did not seem very busy and we did not order anything out of the ordinary. Even our dessert, which obviously was not made to order, took this long.Food was ok. The gorgonzola gnocchi was the only dish that was really amazing, everything else was just mediocre. Overall, we enjoyed our night because we were with good company, but the long waits for food and average taste would not bring us back in.

For such an expensive venue, the actual experience was a such a letdown. After looking for a good Italian restaurant in the area, Trip Advisor noted that Capo Capo was one of the best places in the area. I'm going to need Trip Advisor to amend their recommendations because CC was one of the worst Italian restaurants I've ever visited. My two fellow diners were of the same mind. When we arrived, we were seated in a lower area that initially smelled a little like manure. Our server was a young woman who didn't have much personality and who served my entree size salad as a starter, which isn't what I wanted. However, she hadn't asked me which I preferred, so I can only imagine that she believes all salads should be served first. The salad should have tasted good, but the maple vinaigrette was a strange flavor over the goat cheese and cranberries. When my side dish of sweet mashed potatoes arrived, I was really disappointed. There were large lumps, as if the potatoes hadn't been fully pureed, and the flavor wasn't very good. When the bill arrived, we settled up and quickly got out of there. We ended up eating elsewhere so we could actually feel like we'd had dinner. I would not recommend Capo Capo to anyone who wants a good meal served by a competent server.

Atmosphere was decent. Food was ok. Not bad, but not great. Service was mediocre to poor. After dinner asked for dessert menu and coffee. Waitress came back 20 min later and told me they were all out of coffee. Never got the dessert menu, but without coffee I wouldn't have ordered anyway. Experience was good because we are positive people. Overall 3 Stars is fair.

This restaurant is not operating on the level it should be. We expected more from a restaurant in a hotel that hosts events and conventions. Our experience, dinner for 6, took FOUR HOURS start to finish.Food: ok once it comes. Tasty Mediterranean salad good seared tuna (not a high grade of tuna, but ok), and a good wedge salad.Drinks: took an hour to get them. The espresso martini-tasted like there was no espresso in the drink, maybe just coffee liqueur. The vanilla gelato was a nice touch. A few of us ordered a second round, which never came.Service: hostess gave our party of 6 two options: immediate table, but we had to be in and out in an hour, or, wait for the party in the enclosed outdoor seating area to finish up and sit there. We chose option 2 and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. The server was very nice, but, it took an hour for drinks to come, another hour for meals, and another hour to sort out the checks. We were told the system went down, our checks were somewhere else, and finally were asked to come up to the hostess stand and tell her what each of us ordered and then pay. That took another 30 minutes with our party clogging up the entrance. I am surprised the manager did not come to talk with us and apologize. Atmosphere: cold in the enclosed outdoor seating area despite two portable heaters.

We were running late and tried to call to update the reservation and there was a busy tone for half an hour. When we were seated we were told that the kitchen was behind 20 min due to some big parties. 8pm Saturday, ok not terrible. 6 people in a cozy booth. The waitress then proceeds to throw the appetizer plates down at us. Takes our drink order. My Smokey Paloma was the highlight of the meal. Salads were underwhelming. The bruschetta wasn't worth the price. The meals came out after almost an hour and again thrown onto the table. The waitress then tried to clear the table while we were still eating, throwing my forks on another persons half eaten plate. The worst was an issue w their cc machine not accepting a European card that had previously been accepted all over Virginia. Snotty, nasty behavior that ended up w the staff laughing at us. Terrible customer service. I wish I could give zero stars. Over priced, just ok food, will not only not go back, but warn others the same. Disappointed.

Terrible service and not that busy so no excuse really. Appetizer was okay but steak was overcooked. Go somewhere else.
