I don't normally leave reviews because I don't like the idea of my opinion taking money from hardworking people. However, this place does not want, nor do they care about you as a customer if you have a group of less than three, seated for over an hour waiting for an omelette and three over easy eggs with bacon and toast. Not to mention the extremely unprofessional manager who stands by the host desk and stares daggers at you while you sit and wait for your food. As for cleanliness, i visit restaurants almost everyday for work, I've seen cleaner places in failing malls and amusement parks. Don't eat here.

Capital Pancakes house is a staple in the Williamsburg area. The service was great , they were all so friendly and we loved that when you walk in they have patches from first responders from all around the country. My husband is a first responder so he donated his badge to there wall so I'm a way a part of us will forever be a part of there story . The ambiance is a typical pancake house nothing crazy but there food was really good especially there French toasts and there eggs and let me not forget to mention there world famous coffee it was really good .

Solid place for breakfast. I ordered the chicken and waffles and biscuits and they were all fantastic. We visited for a birthday brunch and handle the table well. However some of the other food, ie the bacon and sausage gravy weren't fan favorites. Our server was nice and tried her best to ensure things turned out okay. It's pretty spacious and loud due to all the tables.

The good: seated immediately, decent food (some better than others), huge portions*, terrific waitress. The meh: not much meat in my Mexican omelette, chicken fried steak only warm not hot.The really not so good: extremely long wait for food, *huge portions (smaller appetites beware! Especially if you're traveling & can't take any leftovers - what a waste!) NOISE LEVEL!Lots of free parking, easy to get to.The a/c was really cold & I couldn't see any table or booth with no blowers overhead. Might want a sweater.

So we are fortunate to live close by, so we can come an go when it is not packed. Huge menu options, breakfast all day is a nice plus, however mimosa's are the biggest factor here. LOLMy wife had the beef vegetable soup, and thank goodness she shared(thank ou), it was 5 star beef vegetable soup. She had a grilled cheese n fries and loved it. I think the fries are hand-cut. I had the ham n cheese omelette add mushrooms with fried potatoes and toast. The omelette was humongous and very tasty, a lot of mushrooms and ham. Fried potatoes are not my go to, but they were so good. (I prefer shredded taters) The service was very good and our server was very social and very prompt as well. Thank You for the great service!

A solid diner restaurant with quality comfort food. Generally not the place to visit if you want elaborate veggie choices. The Eggs Benedict was very good and about half of my calories for the entire waking day. They give large portions.MY GRADE: B.

Service was difficult and the food was tasteless. Not enough servers for a busy Sunday. I expected better.

We ate here on a busy weekday morning after trying to get a table at the nearby Colonial Pancake house, which had a rather long wait. The front of house staff seemed a bit off their game due the crowd of people, but we were eventually seated in one part of the restaurant. After about a minute, the host came back and offered to reseat us in another room as they were opening it up, and we were seated at a large round table, which was great for our party of five. Our ticket included waffles, catfish, a kids breakfast, and a couple other entrees. The food took a bit to come out, but when it arrived it was hot and tasted great. The server was helpful and answered questions we had about the menu. The food was better than an average breakfast, and the menu had plenty of choices for both breakfast and lunch. The restaurant is decorated with photos and sports memorabilia from the 30s through 60s, but it was somewhat difficult to tell why certain pieces were in the collection. The front area looked like it could use a bit of cleaning, but the seating areas were clean.

If I could give it a zero I would. How do you screw up pancakes in Williamsburg? I ordered blueberry pancakes with bacon. They were raw and grainy with maybe 10 blueberries. The bacon was under done and ice cold. Seriously, breakfast in Williamsburg- how so screw that up? DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Everytime I go to Williamsburg, I make it a point to go to the Capitol Pancake House.Their pancakes are a country mile above the rest (and I have been to all of them, but I won't mention their names). At each one, I ordered the same thing, Pancakes and Eggs over hard. What I really like about a great pancake house is when you order pancakes and they don't try to hide them under whipped cream or powdered sugar. All the others I went to did this. The servers are polite, exactly what would be expected of Southern Hospitality. My first visit to the Capitol Pancake House was shortly after they opened 25 years ago, and it left such a great impression on me that I made sure to put it on my "hit list".They do have "The Best Coffee In Town". This is fact, not fiction. If you are going to Williamsburg, please make sure to visit the Capitol Pancake House. Just make sure to go on a weekday. It is packed on the weekends. It is a little out of the way, but only a few miles from downtown Williamsburg, and well worth the 5-10 minute drive. You will not be disappointed!Photo is from Monday as I was in the process of destroying what was on the plate.
