I have no idea how long the 1.8 mile Cape Henry Trail has been in existence. However when on it today I decided to add. It's better than average but not a 4 Star experience. I've been using the stretch for years. The trail head begins on Jade Street off Shore Drive. There is room for a couple cars in the Cul de sac and it's legal. The trail is flat and paved. It's decently wide and in great condition. It basically uses a utility easement that runs east and west just off Shore Drive. The end of the Cape Henry dumps into First Landing State Park. The gate opens and closes Sunrise to Sunset. The trail is not for any type of motorized transportation. It's most often used for walking and running. Non motorized bicycles are allowed. Often walkers use the trail to exercise their dogs. The city has provided bags along the way. There are a few benches off the trail. It's not in my opinion very scenic. The best aspect is that it keeps pedestrians and bicyclists safe. There are a few crosswalks to be careful of with traffic. The trail is mainly used by area residents. I think a 3.5 suits the Cape Henry Trail best. However, I'm rounding down and still encourage its use.
