Cape Charles Distillery

Let me say that the one of these stats is for the service. The staff were wonderful and attentive and the issues we had have nothing to do with them. Now where to start. We planned our visit weeks beforehand and did what we could for research through the internet. The distilleries website has a couple issues or a lack of general clarity. First thing you need to understand is that this is a restaurant and NOT a distillery. They DO NOT do any kind of tasting. You can buy bottles (and her is where the second issue comes in) they have almost nothing in stock. The only things they had when we were there were their rye and their maple whiskey. The website also lists and impressive array of local oysters. When we got there though they only had 1 varietal of the 6 or so listed on the website. The website gives the impression that this is a distillery / brewery type environment. It is actually a restaurant. We had a small plate that was good. We also had some very good cocktails. Had we known that it wasn't a distillery and was actually a restaurant we may have still stopped in but our expectations would have been quite different and we would not have found someplace else to have lunch.

The best vibe on Mason Street! Such a fun place and relaxing at the same time.Delicious hand crafted cocktails served in a lovely outdoor seating area. All the drinks are the same price ($15). I had a Moscow Mule and my husband had the French 75. We loved it so much here that we came back the next afternoon. Our service was attentive and took our orders quickly. She checked back in on us as needed. Great job on a busy weekend.

Came to cape Charles for the day. One of our friends recommended us to stop here and we are so glad we did. Great service, nice atmosphere, excellent tapas, and the drinks were very good. We tried 3 off the menu, old fashioned, White Russian, and the Berry Smash. We enjoyed them all. Highly recommend stopping here.

It's a neat place, although while their decore is a bit eclectic, it is also a little weird. We sat inside, but there was plenty of seating outside. I am excited to visit them again once they open in their new, larger location, across the street. We stopped in for drinks, and didn't have the food. I had a bourbon, and my wife tried one of their mixed lemonades. The bourbon was just okay, but I am a snob. My wife absolutely loved her cocktail, and had a second. The servers were friendly, but the day we were there, they were very busy, so they weren't super attentive. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in town.

Very cute place in downtown Cape Charles. The drinks are handcrafted and the same price. I enjoyed my French 75 and my partner enjoyed his expresso martini. They also have an outdoor area. They were packed on Saturday night so they seated us in a private room with a large table. Caroline was a great server and answered all of our questions. This is a lovely place to stop by for a drink with friend.

This is our favorite place to hang out in Cape Charles! Best cocktails ever, great atmosphere and we love the owners!

relaxing, fun place to have a good cocktail. lots of things from which to chose; my husband is a bourbon drinker, i prefer gin-we were both happy with our choices.

Swanky place. Cool aesthetic. I enjoyed their grapefruit infused vodka with freshly squeezed grapefruit, and my husband had the cucumber gin. Definitely fresh, light. and enjoyable.

Just had an incredible dinner at the distillery with a friend of 40 years. The beef Wellington, lobster, and White Russians made with bourbon were outstanding! The food was to die for--and to go back for.Great vibe, service, food presentation, and atmosphere. Be sure to go upstairs--it's comfy and casual with a relaxed feel. The well-kept secret is out! Whether it's a special occasion or just because, you must go. A lovely spot with an eclectic, welcoming crowd! The well kept secret is out! It's lovely all around and a nice eclectic clientele too!
