First time at Camping world and this will be my last time going in a Camping world. Ordered item from online for in store pickup. The item was processed a day later and got the email that its ready to pickup. Drove all the way to Newport News and one I arrive the lady at order pickup brings a totally different product than what I ordered. Then she and the manager goes back and tries to search for it only to come back saying they don't have the item in stock. How hard is it to match up a barcode before having a customer drive 20 miles for nothing? Very disapponted at this type of customer service.

Worst service ever. We went to buy a camper and the girls up front couldn't be bothered while on their cell phones to even speak. We waited to be "assigned" a salesperson and finally gave up after nobody there seemed to want to help. Won't be going back, ever, for anything. So rude.

Update: the number that's listed below to call for "help" at Marcus VIP team is equally unhelpful. They still owe us $1000 and have now started ignoring us. I called for more assistance and was told they're not sure what I want them to do. Previous rating: I have never had such an unprofessional experience in my life! My mother and I bought a motorhome (RV) from camping world in Newport News and I regret ever stepping a foot in that place. I dealt with a sales associate named Scott and financial guy named Rob. ALL communication with them was like nails on a chalkboard. Any question I asked was answered with animosity. I was disrespected, called names and hung up on.I live in VA and my mom lives in NV. We found a decent price online for an RV. I looked at the unit and put the down payment. Once they had the money, it was impossible to get anyone on the phone. They were always "busy" and it took a total of 2 months to finally drive it home. It was being financed by my mom who's a senior citizen that works graveyard and lives on the other side of the country. She's a smart woman, but has a hard time understanding things sometimes which is why I was apart of the deal.After only a week of possessing the RV, my mom received a past due bill in the mail for two payments. She hadn't even been sent a copy of the contract to make a single payment (because Rob hadn't sent it). She was confused and upset even after she'd talked to him. I called him shortly after speaking with her. Sadly, what I thought would be a quick clarification turned into anything but. From the moment he got on the phone he was flustered and upset; stuttering and double-talking. Yelling that he'd already explained everything to my mom. To which I asked, "I understand that but she's still confused, are you saying that her issue is with the bank and not camping world?" In response, he went on a tirade; during which, he called me RUDE and AGGRESSIVE and stated that he would not and did not need to talk to me. I was taken aback by his comments and could only think to ask what he meant. Then proceeded to hang up - less than a minute into the conversation.I genuinely HATE to even type this next part.... I am a woman of color. There are a million preconceived notions (stereotypes) on how someone who looks like me will behave in certain situations. My entire life, even as a child, I have had to present myself in a way that was absolutely professional because the moment I do anything else, someone will call me aggressive, ghetto or worse. At NO point would I have dignified his behavior with even the tiniest rise of emotions- OR even speak in an flat-condescending tone. Yet, he treated me like unworthy scum, and I immediately felt embarrassed and confused. I talked to the sales manager about the incident, he apologized but honestly, it doesn't feel like enough. It's hurtful. This is hurtful. No matter how nice I try to sound or smart or understanding... someone, like Rob, will turn himself into a victim, just to insult me. To him - I was aggressive because I had a quick question - I was aggressive because he didn't owe an explanation to those two women - I was aggressive because it made it easy to disrespect me, an excuse to treat me like crap.

When having an "rv show" how about you have enough sales agents to handle said show. You don't let the customers walk out on the lot to look at your inventory, instead you have some guy walking around saying we have hamburgers and hot dogs for y'all. Sorry for the wait! Dude...how about you let people walk around and look and then if there is anything they like then they can see a sales agent and have a hot dog or hamburger!

We met with them to cancel all the extra coverages, that we realized we don't need, they agreed to cancel, and we signed to this agreement.it has been several weeks and the coverages have not dropped as agreed.Now the sales manager is avoiding our calls.Very bad business and shady. Don't do business Here. were pleasant and ready to sell, but god help you after you drive off the lot!!!

SeeVisited this location after being lured there by a salesman saying they could finance me even after explaining my current credit situation. Provided my paystub and filled out their financing at Newport News VA location. Viewed several units and decided on one. Was told I was approved and even paid $100 dollars to hold the unit until I was able to provide the $3500.00 we had agreed apon to place as a down payment. So as a consumer and an American active duty service member I looked at the Camping World location in Ashland, VA and asked if they had a newer particular unit that I had seen on their website for generally the same amount I was already "approved" for. Well the finance guys/salesman poached me...went on to trash talk about the location in Newport News. Reluctantly I believed him. He vemently denied he was going to run my credit again...well that was a total lie. He ran it again, then had the audacity to not call me back. After several attempts to call him or reach someone there all attempts where futile. Ended up NOT getting a unit from either location after being highly disappointed and being told that I was NOT approved for financing from either location. What a hoax!Oh failed to mention...the Ashland VA location called me a month later...I called back. Got the same song and dance. Oh it's end of the month, we can get you into a unit now...well again I have yet to receive a phone call. Shameful. So the generic business manager reply on Yelp is a bit insulting. If you truly care and wish to redeem yourself or change my experience my name is Rudy Contreras. You can look me up and call me back.
