She made my wedding cake, it was beautiful and so delicious. I almost didn't want to save the top of my cake for our anniversary because I wanted more cake!

My wedding turned out INCREDIBLE this past Sunday and one of the highlights was this amazing cake created by Cakes by Tawanda. The flavor was fantastic. The texture was mouth watering. The execution was flawless as you can see from this set up.Thank you so much for adding to this incredible day.

Our small wedding cake and cupcakes were done by Tawanda. The entire process with her was not as smooth as my other vendors and I think is because we didn't spend as much. Our wedding was 65 people and we were doing other desserts as well. Tawanda's communication was not there several times throughout the process. The automatic response you get is that they respond within 24 hours, they don't. There were several times I had to send a follow up email. Brides, if you want to feel any what special (similar to how my other vendors treated me), this isn't the place. We had a tasting that I had to initiate and get information on. The cake at the tasting was good. Tawanda never spoke about pricing throughout the process, just sent us an invoice. Didn't give us an option to have the cake delivered and pay a fee, just told us to pick it up (on our wedding day). The cake itself was delicious and gorgeous, but we received so many complaints about the cupcakes being dry .. embarrassing. I had great wedding vendors, I kind of wish I went a different route with our cake, which I'm surprised about since she's won food network awards. But the taste and customer service just wasn't there for me.

Delicious bundt cakes available with 24 hour notice for that person in your life who always waits til the last minute to get back to you with their cake wish list. We first had the coconut with frosting. The quality ingredients (butter!) translated well into a mouth watering cake. Presentation was simple but pretty, with icing poured over then covered with flaked coconut. We've had a few amazing, designed birthday cakes from here as well. I've sent photos of things I found online and Tawanda has exceeded expectations every time. People remember those cakes and still talk about them. Owner is very pleasant and does a lot of work for W&M. It's a pleasure doing business with Tawanda.

Don't even bother to consider this vendor. I called on a Wednesday and still haven't heard back (it's now Saturday). Customer service here is a joke and I'm not even sure if they are in business at this point. NEXT!!

Tawanda provided the most beautiful cake for my daughter's college graduation! Not only was it impressively beautiful, the flavor was awesome. People couldn't get enough of it. This cake was easily one of the best cakes that I've ever eaten. That is saying a lot, since I'm totally into cakes!

It was a true pleasure to work with Tawanda for my son's 8th birthday. We needed a boxcar derby cake and she totally nailed it. Not only did the cake look amazing the flavors were beyond what we could ever have expected. Hands down as long as Ms. Tawanda keeps making cakes we will be loyal customers. Thank you Ms. Tawanda you are so talented. Looking forward to the next celebration so I can order another cake.

Ordered a cake for my mom and it was the best cake I've had in a long time. I will most definitely order from her again.

Save some money. Order your cake from Publix. I wish I had! This was my first time ordering a personalized birthday cake which I had such high hopes for, especially knowing that the owner was part of a nationally broadcast baking show. I really thought I would be wow'd! I placed my order weeks in advance, as was suggested by her website, giving plenty of time. After confirmation of my order, I did not hear from her until weeks later when I called the shop on Saturday, the day scheduled for pickup to confirm that it was ready. Upon calling, I learn that my cake would be ready at 12:30. They close at 2pm. I was given a brief 90 min window to pick up the order! The shop is closed Sunday and Monday. Thank goodness a co-worker was able to pick up the cake for me, since I was working during that 90 min window. Later, I open the box and my first thoughts where "Oh no! I was given someone else's order!" The cake was NOT what I requested. For some reason, who over put my cake together decided to slap a picture right in the center (which was NOT part of my order at all), which I can only assume was pulled from the internet, put some flowers around it, and called it a day. The recipient of the cake, on her 40th birthday, guessed that my order got lost and they quickly threw something together. Which is very possible, because it really did look like it was just thrown together. The picture was even crinkling up in a few spots. I considered taking it off, but I feared only making it worse. I was so disappointed, but we had a good laugh about it. My coworkers and friend who received the cake suggested I message the owner regarding this mix up. I emailed her that evening, and 6 days later I have yet to receive any sort of response. And that is the only reason I am even writing the review. To not even get a short apology or acknowledgement of this mix up was extremely disappointing. If you choose to have your special event cake made here, I highly suggest YOU contact them on a regular basis to ensure your order is still on schedule, and ask for confirmation and a visual of the final design. Otherwise, you may very well end up disappointed like I was. Don't expect them to contact you. Or make it even easier on yourself, just go to Publix.
