Really nice little beach store.Very well stocked with items - almost anything you'll need while here - as well as a nice deli in the back for fresh items. We stopped in on our way to meet my mom and her friends who are renting one of the cottages just behind the store. We easily found parking and found the various little items my mom needed for the picnic/bbq inside. I grabbed a fresh spinach salad from the back area for $6.99 and it was delicious! So glad I did... tons of spinach, fresh fruits, cheese, sesame seeds and some really good ranch dressing. It was a huge portion for only $6.99 and if I had to come back, I'd grab the chicken Cobb salad for $8.99 without even hesitating. They have some snacks, drinks, ice cream and everything else up front as well as a small coffee bar. Friendly gals working inside made the whole experience very pleasant. Note - no public restrooms!

Delicious ready to go items. The fresh tuna salad was fantastic! Their classic pimento cheese was delicious as well. The staff was very friendly. Returned a second day to get sandwiches for the beach. The Southwest Chicken Salad was awesome!

Bottom Line: Selling groceries, bait, beach gear and souvenirs in Nags Head's Whalebone Junction for decades.Cahoon's Market has been in business for what seems like forever and I always seem to make at least one trip there each time I'm in Nags Head. Typically I like to go to Cahoon's to buy stamps, mail postcards and get Nags Head gear. I feel like Cahoons is the only place in the Outer Banks where I can actually get a tshirt and other apparel that says Nags Head versus OBX, which I fully appreciate. I think most people probably visit Cahoon's to do a little grocery shopping or pick up a deli meal at the counter. For me, I mostly like to look at the stuff like games, sunscreen, and souvenirs. But I do tend to eye up ice cream and beer here too! Until recently I didn't realize that the deli actually has quality Boar's Head meats. I visited Cahoon's most recently during COVID and I appreciate that they are taking the pandemic seriously. When I visited they were providing hand sanitizer upon entry an requiring masks. Service was friendly .

Great beach store, with friendly faces that work there. The sandwiches are made to order and are very good. They have everything you need for the week at the beach. The store is very clean, and super easy to navigate. Highly recommend if you are down in South Nags head to give this place a stop!!

We didn't get to the food because the staff was so rude. If you want a friendly atmosphere, go somewhere else. If you want to watch employees lean over their registers while playing on their phones and ignoring patrons, and being rude when asked a question then this is the place for you.

Great little mom and pop grocery and variety store on the southern end of Nags Head. They have souvenirs, sunblock, beach gear, groceries, beer and more. They also have a deli with Boars Head. They aren't cheap, but very convenient and worth the little bit extra to me to support a family business. (I grew up in one.) I stopped in and bought some wheat thins, water , and a container each of chicken salad and cut up fresh pineapple to take to the beach. The chicken salad was very good and contained grapes and nuts, which I love. It was the perfect snack for the beach. The staff was friendly and quick. A nice and convenient place to shop in Nags Head. They also have cottages for rent. They looked cute if you like old school mom and pop places (I do), but I didn't see inside them.

Im not a mask advocate, but as a business owner - they are doing this for the safety of you and the employees (some employees are actually frightened of the "Virus") If you don't have employees, you don't have a business! So if the business wants you to wear a mask or use hand sanitizer, then do it. Its ridiculous that some people have no respect for others regardless of their belief. It wont kill you to wear it.. Grow up. And no, I don't believe they are racist (Im a whitey - lol) - I just think they do not like people who are not locals. That being said, if you are not a local, then don't go here. The people that work here and run this store are not friendly to seasonal folks. I feel like Im in the soup nazi episode of Seinfeld when I go here. I love the store. Has everything you need and very convenient. I come from Virginia to South Nags Head 4 times a year and have never had a pleasant experience. Everyone who works here seems very "grumpy". A couple of times (before Covid), as I walked in the store they jumped right on me , and in a mean way asked, "What are you looking for?" - Well, IM LOOKING FOR GROCERIES!! THATS WHY I CAME HERE! They seem to have rules too - like "Don't put that bag of ice on the check out counter! - and , you cant pay for the ice and then go back and get it! Why? I really didn't want to drip water throughout your store... geeez - sorry... They don't say hello, and I guarantee you wont get a smile or a "Thanks for coming by". Anyway, I'll probably keep coming here, just because I like the store. I don't know anything about their cottages, so I cant give them a review. This is for the store.

I love love love this grocery! It's got just what you need while on vacation! It's a quaint, family-owned grocery with adorable souvenirs. It was here 30 years ago when I last visited Nags Head and it's still wonderful!
