"We always have a great time when we come here. Yesterday we came and enjoyed a picture of the sangria, which was delightful refreshing. I ordered a combo of the flatbread with sausage and Burrata and wedge salad. The flatbread was absolutely delicious flavorful and this is my first time ever having a wedge salad. And despite never liking blue cheese, I'd rather enjoy it this time. My husband and I sat for a couple hours and enjoyed each other's company."
"Had a night without kids and decided on a last minute dinner date with the wife. Loved the appetizers more than the entrees. We ordered a dozen oysters that went quickly. Smaller in size but not too bad. All but one tasted good. Also ordered the chimichurri grilled octopus. The octopus was good but the chimichurri reminded me more on the curry side. Surprised how good the potatoes were with it.I ordered the pork chop and the wife ordered a NY strip. She asked for medium rare and got more medium. Service was ok prompt and didn't need to ask for refills, but nothing special. He grabbed our plates before we could say we were done.Beef carpaccio was good and the egg salad and arugula paired with it was delicious.Place is small but seemed clean and seated immediately even without reservations."

"Waterfront restaurant in Duck, and certainly one of the nicest restaurants in the area. Certainly decent views of the sound coast, and at times, even some wildlife. Parking can be a bit tough, but there's a small auxiliary lot directly across the street.Wine and cocktails at this place are pretty decent. Their wine list is quite good, and they have some wonderful selections available. Appetizer menu is also quite good. For us, we had the bangin' shrimp and the whipped goat cheese dip. The goat cheese was tremendous, and a huge portion to boot. The bangin' shrimp was also very good. I wouldn't say it was spicy at all, but the sauce was quite good, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. the batter wasn't too heavy, and the result was a nice light crisp. I think it might be a rice flour batter. For dinner, we had the NY Strip and the saffron seafood pasta. The pasta was absolutely tremendous! Sometimes you get a seafood pasta with an almost fishy taste, but not this at all. The homemade pasta was delicious and the sauce fabulous. The steak was a bit of a different story. The sauce was pretty good, but despite ordering it medium, i received well done. Dinner took a bit of time and i was really hungry, so i didn't send it back, but honestly, for the price they charge, that's unacceptable. A well done steak is a travesty; tough, dry, and tasteless. I really do expect better from this place.Service at this place was quite good as well. Friendly staff throughout, and easy to work with for reserving an eight person table. The completely ruined steak not withstanding, this place was pretty great! It's expensive, but you get some pretty great food, and I have to assume they know how to make a proper steak and just had a moment. In fairness, this is more of a seafood restaurant, and i had considered the shrimp and grits, so perhaps i should've gone with that instead. Anyway, this place is certainly worth a shot."
"I've never been to Virginia Beach, but if all restaurants are like this one, I'm moving here!! I have never had such amazing food and beer anywhere! The beer menu was extensive, and the food menu was full of delicious options. My coworker had the seafood pasta, which looked fresh and she loved. The chicken tacos were unreal - breaded chicken tenders with honey chipotle sauce, slaw, and some awesome Mexican spiced pasta salad. But honestly - and this is odd - the star of the show was the Pineapple Grenade wheat beer. It was so light, so fruity and so refreshing!! We also had the miso caramel ice cream sandwich, which was unreal!!If you're in the area, EAT HERE! (I may be back tomorrow!)"
"The best steakhouse in the 757.It's so refreshing to see a place not only survive, but thrive. We first went 15 years ago, and it was even better this time. Our server was very attentive, and the overall service is next level. We went before a show at Chrysler Hall, and our waiter made every effort to expedite our meal.We ordered the Japanese A5 filet, and it was perfection in a piece of beef. The shareable sides were more than enough to make sure everyone got some. Even though it was the dinner rush, the restaurant was warm and wasn't overly loud.It was the best steakhouse 15 years ago, and it still is today."
"I traveled to Richmond for work and located a seafood place in downtown Richmond. I choose to try The Hard Shell because of the ratings and have to say that overall, I agree! Service was prompt and friendly (shout out to Taylor!) and ambiance nice: good music, nice size bar, a mix of tables and expansive booths as well as outdoor patio searing. The menu is a mix of fish but-as the name suggests-shell fish dominates. They have selections for meat eaters-I started with the BBQ ribs followed by the shrimp pasta; the BBQ rib appetizer was fantastic: highly recommended-fall off the bone tender! Choosing an entree was hard-lots of good choices, but I went with the shrimp pasta-which I have to say was just Ok. Think a blush or vodka sauce as opposed to what seemed a heavy cream sauce would have added the punch I sought. But presentation, serving size, ambiance and value were all there! I had a late evening reservation so didn't linger for dessert but I'll be back when next in town and recommend you do as well!"
"We went to 456 Fish for happy hour before a show at the Chrysler. Joe was our bartender. He made us feel welcome the second we sat down. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. He got the drinks to us so quickly and with a smile. We asked about going outside and he asked the owner to turn on the heat for us. We ordered appetizers, and he took our orders without writing them down, and he was spot on! What a lovely experience! The food was delicious but the service was superb!"
"Came on the weekend just before Sunset and remembered how difficult it was to get a table as it's a first come first serve basis and you just grab a table as someone leaves. Not the best method in my opinion but most people seem to hang out by the bar. Place has a great view for the Sunset and meaty oysters, but I wouldn't suggest for a date. More-so, a casual vibe for a hangout spot."

Tonight had the joy of going back to coopers but instead of wine tasting I ate in. The reservation process was super easy thru their app as I am a wine member. You can also make reservations on open table. The parking lot was full but valet was offered. We were greeted by Ricardo and Thomas who were super sweet. We were seated at a very cute round booth with the best server, Sophie! Her customer service was top tier. She was so knowledgeable and super accommodating with our eating and a picky teenager. We truly enjoyed our food and the company of our server. I even made a special request for my espresso martini to be made with tequila instead and they were so happy to get it done. The Bartender April really outdid herself with that one! The music played in the background was 90s soul and R&B and really did something to my spirit. Overall the restaurant was clean, the service was top tier and the plating and taste was amazing! Go enjoy Coopers but make sure you make a reservation!

Customer service 5. Shrimp 3 heat was there, adequate. Shrimp/pork dumplings 2-3, personally didn't love the texture/meaty flavor. Oysters rockefeller 4. Raw ok flavor just didn't love the color 3. Gin and tonic was strong but flat 2. Negroni was great 4.5. Beers standard 3, could've been colder in my estimation 'cause you can keep beer at 29°.

Party of 3 for a 5-star family dinner! If you're looking for a high season experience in the off season, Aqua is the place to find it. In addition to a full menu, they also offer live music and after spending 2 days scouring Duck for another dinner venue with live music, I can honestly say Aqua is doing something right. The locals don't settle for the cheap seats so get there first, make reservations or get there early if you want a dinner view. I'm a sucker for a good steak, but this time I think I found something better, SWEET AND SMOKEY FRENCH CUT CHICKEN BREAST. Brown sugar and smoked paprika is an excellent pairing to the white cheddar and chive glazed potato gnocchi. Having the arugula emulsion, and crème fraîche served on the side was a good choice, no need mess with a good thing. Live music, a perfectly paired dinner with family and personable staff, they are doing it right here! Cheers!!

We came on a Saturday around 3 PM. We keep saying we're going to experience the nightlife(band), but we always forget. We had the flight for $16. I like sweet drinks so I got the tart mofo mango sour ale, Thank you thank you you too. imperial tart mofo raspberry sour, hard tea original hoop tea, guava passionfruit down east cider. We started with the chicken wing appetizer obay seasoned w/ blue cheese. It was delicious. Love the way they fried their wings hard. The beer flight is a choice of 4 beers from their lineup. I enjoy sweet drinks so of course I chose what I thought would be sweet. The hard tea original hoop tea reminds me of the twisted teas lemon very good for those who like sweet drinks. All of my suggested items were good though. For entrees we got the shrimp tacos and the chicken ranch taco. My husband absolutely loved the chicken ranch tacos. The shrimp tacos were also tasty. Our bil was $81 b4 tax. We had an appetizer, two entrées , one flight of beers, one seal , a tea and a sprite. Service was quick. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Food was hot & delicious. One negative there were small gnats flying around. Just a few near our table but I also saw someone else swatting at something which I assumed was a gnat. There weren't a lot of them but enough for me to take notice. However it did not take away from the experience. I would definitely visit here again. Can't wait to come back next year this time.I added some pictures from when we were here last year also. I had seafood pasta my hubby had fish tacos. Both were good. We love this spot. They charge a service fee for paying with a card. It's around $3.

My two coworkers and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here one evening. The waiter was beyond attentive and accommodating and went far to ensure we all enjoyed our meal. The ribeye was one of the tastiest pieces of meat I've had in a while. It was tender and seasoned well and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The crab meat Mac and Brie cheese was simply amazing. I shared it with one of my coworkers and she loved it as well! The salmon was cooked perfectly as well. The escargot did not disappoint, just needed more bread to sop up that garlic butter. We will definitely return on our next work trip as this place is truly a self indulgent treat!

The food was very tasty. The variety of foods in one plate is what makes Richmond such a fun place to explore for your taste buds. The portions were good and the prices are even better. The atmosphere is very professional and relaxing. I highly recommend.

I absolutely loved my grilled tuna with beets, and I loved our appetizers, too - calamari and the baked feta! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, great place for a nice date night. Our waitress seemed a little overwhelmed, so somethings took awhile, but overall I would recommend this place. Check them out!

July 26, 2024 - Three for dinner.Went for a meal , not to hang and drink, so maybe not a great spot for that. Horrible parking and lot design and layout was ridiculous and dangerous. Cars backing out of little spots and a little craziness.Service was okay, big bar and drinking crowd and very packed......seemed to need a few more servers and bar folks. Food was decent. Fresh and nicely made and presented. Great view and location. I would go back again but maybe not in the later evening or on the weekend.

"Talk about a cool place. The inside of this place is absolutely beautiful. I went with a group of people we were doing a Saturday morning coffee crawl and walk. This place was on our list of places to go. So glad I went such an open space great for a large group to meet. Watching them make your order was like watching a scientist or chemist. I was tossed on whether or not to order a cold brew coffee or try something new It was suggested that I try the Churchill cold, and boy was it deliciousI am excited to go back. They offer classes every Saturday on coffee. I have to try the class. Any excuse to go back and try they even offer food they have a large room that they rent out which would be great for small gathering or a party. If you are a coffee lover, and want to experience a different kind of coffee experience, this place is a must go."
"Whew chile, Boil Bay is top 2 and it ain't #2! My friends and I come here for birthdays, anniversaries, funerals ... hell, just because it's Tuesday, and the food never gets old! If you're in Hampton Roads and looking for seafood that actually hits, Boil Bay Seafood City is thee spot. Compared to similar restaurants in the area, their flavors are unmatched. You can taste the difference in every bite, especially with their signature "boil bay sauce". My go-to? A boil bag with 1/2 lb of shrimp (head off), 1/2 lb of sausage with spicy boil bay sauce, and a side of cajun seafood rice. It's perfection every single time. Oh, and do yourself a favor--get the hush puppies. They're top tier, especially with that honey butter. You won't regret it.The vibes here are immaculate. They always have 90s and 00s R&B playing, so you will be vibing while you're feasting. It's the kind of place where the food, the music, and the atmosphere come together like magic.Every single person I've brought here has walked away raving about how much they love it. Boil Bay isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, don't sleep on this gem. Trust me, you'll leave with a full stomach and a happy heart."
"Stopped in to eat before a show at the National at about 6:30pm and was easily able to sit at the bar.We got wine to start with and boy was it a healthy pour! Delightful!I got their special, a shrimp poboy and it was good! Also their fries were tasty! Fiancé got the burger and really enjoyed it! Would come back! This was maybe my 5th visit."
"So I am really struggling with this review. I haven't given a 2 star restaurant review in I don't know how long. The 2 is a mix of the food and ultimately the experience. The reviews have been so great here and I was so looking forward to it. I'm so disappointed. We all were...First off, I would say our waitress was super kind and provided great recommendations. This review was by no fault of her. To be honest, the manager that walked up to us as we were paying last night at the end of our meal asked us how it was and said "why no dessert", and we responded we waited for over two hours for just our food... and were trying to get to our reservation at Hotel Greene that we paid for. He then proceeded on with a joke and said what's wrong with staying at Batizan all night. We were all turned off by it... and he said," why not take dessert to go".... While we didn't say this but when we pay 20... 24... for pasta and 29 for crab cakes we have some expectations of an entree not a small plate and still a little hungry there is a problem. We all had two rounds of drinks... so everyone's drinks were pretty good except for the Blackberry Bramble which I started off with first. It felt like they forgot the alcohol... and tasted like tap water with a few drops of sugar. Not sure what happened there. Then I proceeded with the Pineapple drink which was an improvement. My girlfriend ordered the Margarita twice as she enjoyed it, and her husband and mine enjoyed their drinks. So the whipped feta appetizer... so I loved this... probably my favorite... great combination of a hint of salt, sweet honey and some crunch with the pistachios. I could've eaten tons of their bread in hindsight they offered to refill it twice and we took them on one of the offer should've refilled it twice (Granted, not sure if they charged us for each refill... they should've given more bread to start with). The calamari wasn't any of our favorite (we suggest a change in recipe it was surprisingly bland but as a Kalamata olive lover I was ok grabbing a piece of olive to pair with the calamari so it provided enough salt... also swap the bland bread with the fresh naan like bread with the feta would've been a plus), and not good enough for us to finish... Mind you I think we were all starving because we waited for our meal so long. The time between apps and our entree was probably an hour and 15-20 minutes. I don't even normally say anything but we had 9:30 reservations at Hotel Greene and it was 8:58 for a 7:00 reservation and we still did not get our entrees yet. They kept asking us whether we wanted a third drink but I wanted to say if it's on the house sure... at any rate no apologies for the wait they just had 2-3 people come by to say our food was on the way. I finally got fed up and made a comment to our waitress, We may not have gotten our food if I didn't. Three of us got pasta dishes my husband got the Sausage Fettuccine (while amazing and delicious $20 took him two minutes to scarf down is a problem... probably the smallest fettuccine ever... but hold off, my gnocchi was even more tragic. Two of us ordered the gnocchi... I was literally about to say I didn't order salad to the waitress haha... glad I pulled myself back. There were maybe a max of 7 gnocchi if not less underneath the arugula. $3.80 for a 5 lb bag of potatoes and $1.96 for 5 oz .... No this dish is not worth $24. I actually enjoyed the consistency, more mashed potato style and grilled... not the traditional chewiness... though my husband wondered if they cooked it enough and we were in a rush so I wasn't going to question it. At that point I was just starving and ate it all so quick same with our friend. My girlfriend got the crab cakes and apparently filler was unreal and it did not taste good so she had most of it leftover. My husband and our friend was missing their side carrots and Brussel sprouts... we didn't even remember that until we left ($6 each) but again we were trying to get out and the manager making the comments were a complete annoyance.Just take a look at the pic of the gnocchi it's really jarring... $240+ later with tip... no we don't want dessert and personally we should've been offered something for our wait which we were not. I dislike giving bad reviews because I'm a big supporter of restaurants, but this review was really warranted."
"Great staff, great wine. My date and I visited Ashton Creek Vineyard the weekend before Valentine's day for a tasting. The evening of I called in and asked about reservations and the bartender assured us that we were more than welcome to come in for a tasting without reservations, which was surprising since everything is usually booked up around Valentine's Day.The property gives a luxury plantation home vibe which sets this Vineyard apart from any other that I've visited, it's a nice open layout. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip which was delicious and three wines of our own to taste. In all we had a great experience and willl definitely be back for more."
"The lady working the bar was very friendly and engaging and I like the vibe of this place. They have a huge beer selection as well. I wasn't a fan of the Flemish Ale at all but I'm sure they have other offerings more my speed. I plan on coming back here to try some other beers most likely."
"What can you do on Hump Day in Hampton Roads? You can go skating!!!! I just happened to see an event on Facebook stating, Haygood Rollerskating Center was offering Family Night every Wednesday starting at 5:30 pm. Entry, Skate Rental and UNLIMITED PIZZA for the Low Low Price of just $7.00 . We arrived around 6 pm and I saw a good number of cars in the parking lot which intimidated me at first. There was no line. We walked in and I asked to pay for an entry for 1, but I was advised everyone must pay $7 for entry even if you will not be skating. Even if you do not skate you still have the option to eat pizza which wasn't too bad. ( you get a choice is cheese or pepperoni ) The skating rink was not crowded at that time. Plenty of space between skaters and most where wearing masks . I saw hand sanitizing stations at the entrance, by the skate rental, at pizza counter and the bathroom area. This facility has 80's carpets, classic skates and even toddler skate walkers to help your little tots have a positive experience skating as they learn to get their balance... I do not know if they have those for adults. LOL but it would be a bad idea if they did. There were two bathrooms. One which I found to be a bit peculiar... I posted a video. The bathroom near the entrance had two stalls but no sink in the bathroom. when I exited the bathroom in disbelief I saw that there was a sink and water fountain on the outside of the male abs female bathroom. . The sink area was a bit unkept for my liking and they had run out of paper towels. Overall we had a fantastic time skating... I saw we because my initial intent was to not skate and allow my son to have a good time but nostalgia kicked in and I decided to relive my youth. LOLThe ambiance was great! Music bumping and the wind blowing in my face as I smiled, laughed and zoomed around the rink! Definitely a good time to break things up and get out the house and not spend a fortune for some comfort food and entertainment..Tip: if you are going with small children I highly recommend that you get there at 5:30. Around 7 pm the crowd picks up and at 7:30 sims and disco lights come on and older children and adults seem to come in. Almost seems like a party Also know that pizza is served until 8:30. We will definitely be returning for another Family Night of fun!!! Queen gives her stamp of approval."
"After reviewing many hotels in the area prior to booking this hotel, I am glad I chose to stay at Hyatt Place at the Virginia Beach Town Center (VBTC) for my recent vacation.First, Hyatt Place VBTC is minutes away from the freeway and a short drive to the Norfolk Naval Base, Oceanfront, the beach, and in short proximity to retail shops like Target, Kohl's and REI, and restaurants like Tupelo Honey Cafe, Yard House, the Cheesecake Factory, Shake Shack, among many others.Second, the hotel property sits alone so there aren't any other business traffic other than people going in and out of the hotel parking lot. I felt safe coming in and out of the hotel, and leaving my rental SUV outside. Parking is free here and there's plenty of parking. It is also very well-lit - no dark and creepy parking spots.Third, I enjoyed the service during our week stay. There was free breakfast every morning from 6:30am-9:30am on the weekdays and 7am-10am on the weekends. After those hours, they also have The Placery, where you can purchase small bites and dine without having to leave the hotel. And always available 24/7 is a small drink and snack section where you can make purchases.Fourth, the staff is very friendly - from the front desk, to the people making breakfast, to housekeeping, etc. Every employee we interacted with was a pleasure. I think there was only one hiccup where we tried to dine at The Placery around 6pm and was told by an employee that there was only 1 fryer to make appetizers and that it would be a 2-hour wait! Poor young man, he was so distressed and we reassured him as we would just dine elsewhere. We ended up just driving down the street to YardHouse - where I spent way more than I was hoping to. Yikes!Fifth, the hotel was clean. From the exterior, walking into the lobby, up the elevators to our room, and to our hotel room itself - I felt good walking around and taking my showers. It didn't have that icky feeling that I get at some hotels. The shower door was glass (not a curtain - thank goodness), and the shower head had the right pressure strength. And they had shower gel, shampoo and conditioner available and refilled. These products were attached to the shower, which made it so convenient to shower. The product smelled really good and, somehow, I love how the water in VA felt on my skin and hair - sorry, CA! (Haha) Also, the hotel smelled good every time we walked in - I loved that!Sixth, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfectly firm and just the right size. I didn't have to ask for any extras. We stayed in a 2 Queen Bed with Sofa and it was very spacious. It was on the 6th floor (it only goes up 6 floors). There was only one night where I think I heard some kids (or adults) screaming that was a bit disturbing. Other than that, I couldn't hear anything from neighboring guests.Seventh, the mini fridge held the bottled waters we purchased for the week so we always had cold drinks ready whenever we needed to hydrate.Overall, we did pay a pretty penny to stay at Hyatt Place VBTC- but it was all worth the stay. I felt safe, I had great sleep, the hotel was clean (yay for no bed bugs), and we were minutes away from all the places we needed to be.I would absolutely stay here again if I were to travel to Virginia Beach again, and I feel 100% confident recommending Hyatt Place VBTC for anyone willing to pay for comfort, safety, and great service. Note: This is a pet-friendly hotel!"
"We visited Va Beach for a long weekend, and I have nothing but good things to say about Hyatt Place. Since we visited during the offseason, the rates were pretty generous (about $100 per night). From my understanding, this hotel opened in 2023, so everything is new and shiny. That said, I saw housekeeping constantly cleaning the common areas. While on the medium size, our hotel room was super comfortable. OMG, the shower was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly, helpful and resourceful. A complimentary breakfast is included. The breakfast had a decent variety of goodies-typically scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, pancakes/waffles/french toast, sausage/bacon, yogurt, an amazing berry compote, and cereal. There probably were more things that I missed. The hotel is located in a decent part of the boardwalk so you'll be within walking distance to many great restaurants in the area and the beach (of course). The only (very minor) inconvenience is the valet service (15 or so minutes) can take a bit of time especially during check out hours. Overall, I would gladly to return to this hotel for another Va Beach adventure."
"This location is conveniently located in my friend's apartment building and we traveled to visit for a nice Mexican dinner. We all ordered Margaritas and they had a smaller menu of options than some of the other local Mexican restaurants (which is actually nice-too many options can be overwhelming). I ordered the Sangrita which was a perfect blend of a Margarita and Sangria and absolutely deadly. 10/10 would drink again.Their food menu was the opposite of the drinks-its long, overwhelming and no pictures. It's a diner style where you have a dinner mat that you flip over-but there is sooooo much to look at. I ended up taking the easy way out and ordered a combo of a beef taco, chalupa and chile relleño. The chalupa was absolutely not what I was expecting-like a bean tostada-but delicious! The taco was very flavorful and stuff to the top with beef and topping on the plate. What really made the evening was the Chile relleño. It's absolutely unique in that it was battered and deep fried. I order a chile relleño most times I eat Mexican and this is the first I had like that-and it's deadly delicious.I give them a 4 star because the menu reallllly needs to be dealt with-it made it difficult to find things to try and I just kind of chose the standard fare."
"Hackers Bar & Grill is a fun new spot for all ages. There are golf simulators and amazing food - what more could you want? The golf simulators are a blast, regardless of your golf experience! You can play famous courses from around the world, or even a game of beer pong lol. We had a lot of fun playing a "fantasy" course. I definitely recommend making a reservation for the golf rooms to secure your spot as I'm sure they get super busy! Now, the FOOD. I'm still thinking about these nachos we got. They were SO GOOD. It was all amazing though. The pear and Brie dip, the pickle fries, the bacon wrapped figs *drool* the food here is divine and so worth a trip in even if you don't want to play golf. It's worthy in its own right! I hear they have breakfast lunch and dinner and the bar is stocked. We will certainly be back!!"
"Great atmosphere! This members only venue is all the rage! Here and there, the owner may open up the venue to the public, but for the most part, once you pay your dues you are in!This venue features: a cigar lounge, full kitchen, outdoor terrace, full service bar, fresh pressed juices with or without spirits, full menu, plush seating and a dance floor. You are able to custom your event to your liking or work with an event planner to bring your vision to an ultimate High! The owner, Sunshine, is just that a ball of sunshine! Super energetic and a great people person. Below the High on High Street, is FitBar... an exercise facility and you can also order food and get fresh pressed juices made to order. This venue is a win win... a real gem in the city of Portsmouth. This venue has been in existence for about a year or maybe less, but the joint venture, FitBar is going on its second year.I was impressed by the venue the first time I checked it out back in November 2017...very classy and sophisticated. Chic and sleek if you will.If you are interested in touring this venue I suggest you reach out to the owner or better yet sign up for an all inclusive membership. You will not regret its benefits and perks. This jewel in the heart of Old Towne Portsmouth is sure to be around for the long haul.Great atmosphere, awesome vibe, amazing clientele...Parking...there is street parking directly in front of the venue and several parking garages.Happy hour takes places at least twice a week. Check out the Facebook page for more details. This place does not disappoint... customer service, on point!Have fun and enjoy life :)"
