"This place was way better than I expected. The manager went out of his way to help me. The food was incredible. Worth going back for. I won't be doing the 5lb food challenge. But it looked fun. Place was clean and simple inside."
"Casa Pearl is a gem or should I say pearl in Williamsburg! My Yelp bestie and I popped in on a Friday night and it was bustling with activity! It's not the biggest restaurant, but they also have an outdoor patio. It is still chilly these days, so we opted to stay in, especially since the sun had gone down already.- Parking - Private lot. Since restaurant was busy, I can see issues finding a spot, so go early. They quickly found us a seat for two and we got to ordering! I was so excited since I love seafood.Ceviche - it was super refreshing and the avocado and watermelon radish was a great contrast in texture. This is served with taro root chips.Oysters - we ordered two of each variety they had on the menu that night, ranging from size and salinity. I love oysters, but I definitely did have a favorite in the 4 varieties. I should have asked which one it was, but it was a medium size and I could have downed a dozen of those! Po boy oyster and grilled fish tacos - Both very good! They come with corn tortillas, and a decent size. Key lime pie - so this is not the traditional pie. It's a deconstructed key lime pie, served in a little glass pot. It has a light graham cracker layer with the key lime cream and then the whipped cream piped into little bubbles at the top! Very light and a great ending to the meal!Grab a seat if you can and enjoy, Friends! Never stop exploring!"
"Party of 4 at 6:45 on a Wed night. Not busy at all, with plenty of seating..and parking, which we were concerned about. Lots of takeout happening! Bring a SWEATER, because all the furniture is metal, and it's a converted garage with roll-up glass doors. I imagine it's pretty great in nice weather when they roll them up. Great casual Mexi-beach vibe with really cool eclectic decor!Everything is made to order from what I could tell, so don't expect assembly line lickety split. Fast casual counter service with table delivery. We really enjoyed it! SIL was craving good fish tacos for his birthday, I quickly searched Yelp, and - BAM! - found Bro's , which is perfectly located near Lynnhaven Mall. Great reviews and couldn't wait to try!PROS: GREAT fish tacos, San Diego style! So fresh, and a nice menu variety. We all had similar items: fried Flounder ("Truth"), Mahi, and fried Pollock tacos, and a bowl of another of the fishes. Salsa for the chips and Dill Sauce for tacos were heavenly! I even loved the queso dip for chips, and I normally don't care for white queso. I mean, just darn delicious! Very friendly and helpful staff, patient with us noobs figuring out the menu. Hubby loved the nachos with shrimp, piled high and with a LOT of fresh jalapeños. Shrimp was cooked perfectly, but he's a meat guy and will definitely go for the beef next time. He got the Habanero sauce which was tasty, but way too spicy for me to finish a single covered chip. (The sign clearly says the heat is 7 of 10, and that's accurate.)Wherever they get the Apple Caramel Cheesecake, keep getting it from there! Holy moly delicious! CONS: I just didn't find my Mahi bowl flavorful at all. Even with the Dill sauce and a few squeezed lime wedges. Maybe also because it was grilled, and everything is better fried. ;-). HIGHLY recommend the tacos over bowls (rice is extra$ and comes in a separate bowl). The tacos are just better! Everyone in the party agreed on that. Rice was supposed to be cilantro lime, but I'm pretty sure it was just plain. Would really have appreciated the soda fountain to have ice. But it's more of an adult beverage kind of vibe, so I get it (photo). In all fairness, it was near closing by the time we finished, so maybe it wasn't the best time for a first visit. We really did love it, and it 100% hit the SoCal taco mail on the head. Will definitely go back and try more varieties!"
"Just a really great experience from beginning to end. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and patient. The drinks came quickly (the half-price happy hour crushes are a tremendous deal!), and the food also followed pretty quickly. The food! The presentation was great, the portions were ENORMOUS, and everything was absolutely delicious. I seriously cannot gush adequately about what an incredible value was the food. The loaded nachos must have had two pounds of beef on the plate! It was insane! Such a great value. We will DEFINITELY be back."
"We've heard raving reviews about No. 1 Tacos since they were still at the KFT location and are now in Buckner Blvd. We finally decided to try it; I felt we were missing out. We had ordered tacos, queso, chips, and fried plantains, and all the dishes were delicious. I loved the birria taco and the fried plantains the most. The fried plantains were served with dulce de leche, which reminded me of a Filipino snack called Banana Que. Other options are also available, such as rice bowls, burritos, birria ramen, and hotdogs. The salsa bar added some extra spice to our tacos as well.Their location reminds me of the taquerias in California. The prices are reasonable and affordable. The staff were amiable and pleasant. The only thing I wish they would change is their menu. I was so confused when I was reading it. I wasn't sure which meats to go with especially when ordering the street tacos. Next time, I will try their Al Pastor. No. 1 Tacos exceeded my expectations. We highly recommend this Mexican eatery."
"I stopped by this place as it was the only place still serving food this late, and I am glad I did.The food was delicious, and the drinks were so good and strong.I didn't get to spend as much time there and play the board games, etc, as it was so close to closing time. The bartender was so warm and friendly. I would definitely come here again."
"Awesome, prompt service. Chuy was great! Delicious food. Well priced tacos for taco Tuesday! We loved the ambiance. Little mom and pop style Mexican restaurant at the Thalia Shoppes strip mall. Cute ambiance. We will definitely be back! The Taco Tuesday specials were amazing!"

Birria Tacos, I am usually disappointed at the end result. But today I stepped into this location and left satisfied. The employees were all friendly and one of the gentleman came around while me and my friends were eating to check up on how we were doing. Mind you this is a place where you order get your food at the counter then sit down. So it was nice to have someone see if I needed anything else while we were already seated. The place has decent amount of seating but it gives me the vibes that it's more of a grab and go place.

On our way out of Yorktown, we meandered to Casa Pearl for a bite. We expected a simple, local spot but it turned out to be a lot more. First, fresh oysters of all sorts. I got a briny Mystic, a medium Laughing King (my favorite), a local Minnie Pearl, and several Victory Points as they were half off for happy hour. Add some home made hot sauce, slurp, and delicious! We also got the whole catch of the day, flounder, perfectly cooked and topped with fennel with a slightly spicy romesco underneath. One bite after another and next thing you know there's nothing but a pile of bones on the plate. Add some perfectly seasoned and cooked hush puppies with honey butter and we had to roll ourselves out the door! This is the best part of Yelp - finding local businesses that are doing it right! Five stars...but if I could give them more, I would. What are you waiting for - go visit Casa Pearl and fill your belly! You'll be glad you did!

Love this place! Bros Fish Tacos was one of the first businesses I tried when I moved here, and it quickly became a favorite. The food is consistently amazing, and it's such a gem in Virginia Beach. They always have cool specials that keep things exciting, and I've tried every topping and combo--they're all sooo delicious! Whether you're a fan of bold flavors or prefer something classic, there's something for everyone. The vibe and service is friendly and laid-back, making it the perfect spot to grab a bite and enjoy some seriously tasty tacos. Please support this awesome local business--they absolutely deserve it!

Fabulous lunch seafood haddock sandwich. Our table of four each had something different and could not find anything negative to say about the food or the service.

I placed my order over the phone for pick up and the woman I spoke to was very nice. She made recommendations and answered all of my questions. She gave me an estimate of when my order would be ready and it was ready and packaged up waiting for me when I arrived.I got the SoCal Burrito with French Fries and Carne Asada as my protein. The burrito was so big and loaded with flavor. All of the ingredients married well together and it was so filling that I couldn't even finish the entire thing alone. This was my first time trying Birria Ramen and I was not disappointed. The birria is made with pork and it was seasoned well and the broth was very rich and delicious. The agua frescas were very refreshing and not too sweet. I will come back for another burrito for sure!

Since this is in our neighborhood, walking here is easy for a laid back vibe and good food. This is my 2nd time here (on a Thursday evening during happy hour) and I still enjoy everything here. I highly recommend visiting here during the week and sitting at the bar. The service at the bar is great as always. Our drinks were made quickly and food came out pretty quickly. My husband had an IPA. The bartender provided a good recommendation for him because he likes hazy IPAs. I ordered a black cherry mule mocktail. They have a mocktail menu which is great because I am practicing sobriety again. The bartender mentioned any of the alcoholic drinks can be made as a mocktail as well. My black cherry mule was delicious. I enjoy the flavors of a mule so it was satisfying.I was impressed with the fish tacos. It was so unexpected. Fresh and good texture. We also ordered wings which were delicious. Our favorite was an order of nachos with steak. That filled me up. The chips here are good. I think that's what makes the nachos really good. We will be back.

My wife and I went here for Sunday lunch. As soon as we walked in we were kindly greeted and told that we can sit wherever we would like (which I enjoy because you can choose your table of preference). My waiter was extremely kind and went above and beyond to make our time enjoyable. The food was stellar. Portions were incredible as well as the prices. The atmosphere was great! We will certainly be back!

Had an OK experience here. We decided to just grab tacos, as we were interested in the brewery across the street (and it wasn't immediately obvious to me what the bar had on draft). The ordering process was a little unusual in that we had to fill out paper forms with details on the tacos we wanted. I guess this kind of thing isn't totally unconventional but I do think it would have been faster if the server had just taken our order normally, since she had to explain how to fill out the form, one of my friends screwed up and wrote down the wrong information, etc. :)The tacos weren't bad! Pretty tasty and reasonably priced, although I can't say they were incredible. For example, I'm pretty sure the server mentioned that the taco shells were store bought - they tasted just fine but it would have been awesome if they were fresh. Not sure I'll be back here but it's maybe worth a visit, especially if you like foosball (it's apparently a hot spot for that!).

"Highly recommended if you're a taco fan! $4 tacos!? And they're super stuffed! I recommend the BBQ chicken tacos and make sure u add Cole slaw or at least get the slaw as a side... so good!Sanctuary is a local bar.. definitely gives neighborhood bar vibes. This is a small establishment but there is indoor and outdoor seating! The staff is super nice and attentive. There was a good mix of people here - all ages and race. I love a good culture mix wherever I go! I could come here alone after a long day for some me time or a group and enjoy myself either way. Good vibes! Will definitely be back!"
"I really enjoyed the food! The service is a bit slow & there is a bit of language getting barrier but otherwise I like the food. I had 2 different types of papusas - zucchini/cheese & Loroco/bean/cheese . They were both excellent! It's a good value as well! My partner got something different and he said the meat with really tough so he didn't enjoy it but I liked the papusas at least!"
"I find this to be a solid Mexican restaurant with great menu and prices to match. They offer so much dishes and drinks. They even have the mariachi band playing on some evenings throughout the month. The food comes out quickly. It's not salty or greasy. And the serving size is generous."
"More updates. Still 5 stars with new ownership. We are loving the changes here and there. Every visit there is some thing new. A few things to note...New Menu posted from my 1/23/24 visit. Service is fantastic. Everyone has been so polite the owners are always around and visit tables to check on their customers.Back room: They have a back room available for parties. The little bellies menu is right up my alley. They have a grilled PB&J. Love that! You have to try the Mac and cheese, and the BBQ!"
"Ordered the burger and fries and it was AMAZING. Not much seating tho so be prepared for that. The woman working was super sweet and welcoming. I definitely plan to visit whenever I'm in Chesapeake."
"We've been to Maya's a bunch of times since they've opened, and have loved everything. Their enchiladas are really flavorful, their tortas (basically a melty sandwich) are to die for, the maduros are so sweet with the best dipping sauce, and their agua frescas are so refreshing (basically they're various infused juices). Their chips are well seasoned, and their queso is flavorful. Everything is much more authentic than what you'd normally find at an American Mexican restaurant. We've had both takeout and eaten in restaurant, and have been pleased every time. They're also open much later than most Sandston spots, which is great. Highly recommend!"
"It may not look like much on the outside, but as soon as you walk in the door you are immediately immersed in a cozy atmosphere with plenty of charm! The food is plentiful and well seasoned at a VERY reasonable price! Service was outstanding as well...we'll be back when we visit the area again.Highly recommend checking it out!"
"It was clean inside and they opened on time. You can do take out or dine in. The prices are reasonable and I felt as if it got my money's worth. I really enjoyed the jerk eggrolls. The wings were a little small, so maybe I'll order a rice bowl next time"
