"The food was so fresh and very delicious It's pretty much self serving but my waitress made sure my drink stayed full The decor is very traditional and beautiful I will definitely try this place out again the sushi bar is my favorite!!!"
"My girlfriends and I decided to go to brunch at the Porch Long Creek. Much to our dismay they really don't offer Brunch. The closest thing to "Brunch" would be their Bloody Mary's and Mimosa. Btw, both libations were superb! The ladies and I didn't care because the view, the service and the cuisine was well worth it. I had the crab cakes sandwich and it was delish..no fillers and being from Maryland.. that's impressive. Only thing I wished is that they would have added Old Bay in the mix. The ladies loved their dishes and we love the experience in dining on The Porch. Next time we are going to go to The Porch during dinner service. Bravo!"

"We came in on a Saturday early evening and were able to be seated right away. We ordered the hot green tea, which was really good quality and came in a cool cup (that matters to me). Then we ordered one of each of the veggie rolls. Being vegan we're usually used to boring cucumber rolls but there were many different options (5) that were all very different and delicious. Even if you aren't vegan these are worth a try! The sweet potato roll was so good! The restaurant itself is very clean and cozy! I loved the interior design and vibe here. The service was also great and we left very satisfied!"
"Sakura Sushi Bar Japanese Restaurant has remained my top choice for all you can eat sushi over the past few years. This establishment never disappoints. I highly recommend trying their Specialty rolls, such as their Mango Hawaii Roll.I suggest visiting for Lunch rather than Dinner, as the price difference is substansial."
"Ordered the sashimi deluxe, 16 pieces of sashimi for $30, it was fantastic and they bring out their rolls and sashimi on these wooden staircases for presentation. It's a work of art! Service was great and quick, the food takes a little bit but it's always hot so it wasn't sitting in the kitchen. The ambiance is quiet and they have room for larger parties in the back.I'm glad I found this place, will definitely be going back."
"Best sushi in VB! I have tried most of the highly rated sushi places in town and they were not good. Don't waste your money, eat here! Service was kind and attentive. My only suggestion would be a smaller menu. There are too many options for sushi to decide on."
"This place is close to my job so I'll try to come here on my lunch breaks. They have great lunch deals. I believe most of it was under $15. Their spicy ramen bowl is sooooo good. I've probably ordered it about 3-4x. If you like spicy and lots of flavor. I definitely recommend it. I can't remember the exact name, sry! The staff is always nice when I've visited. The place is always clean when as well. Nice place to grab a quick lunch with friends or whoever."
"Zushi Bistro has been on my list of restaurants to visit for years so we decided to head there for a Date Night on Friday night. We arrived at 7:30pm and the hostess asked if we had reservations. I was unaware that reservations were highly encouraged. The hostess mentioned that the restaurant was full and we were okay with leaving since we didn't have a reservation but she mentioned that a few people at the bar were leaving and we would be able to be seated in about 10 mins.Once we were seated, we were quickly given menus to look over. Unfortunately, it took a little while for the waiter to assist us and ask our order but I assumed it was because it was a busy night. I decided to start with the Zushi Soup but I also ordered the Mt. Trashmore Roll and the Spicy Ocean Roll while my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Yakisoba and the Philly Roll. The Yakisoba and the Soup arrived about 20 mins after we ordered it and oh my goodness, the Yakisoba was delicious!!! The stir fried noodles were coated in a slightly sweet sauce, the vegetables were sautéed perfectly and the chicken was very flavorful. The broth in the Zushi Soup lacked a flavor and tasted as if it had been sitting out all day but the chicken and pork dumplings in the soup were great. About 10 mins later, the Rolls were served. The Philly Roll was good but tasted like a typical Philly Roll. The Mt. Trashmore Roll was very good and I enjoyed the salmon that was placed on top. My favorite was the Spicy Ocean Roll, it was everything I thought it would be and more. The Roll consisted of salmon sashimi over spicy tuna and crab topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo! I highly recommend it!!! Overall, we had a pretty good experience at Zushi. Our waiter didn't check on us very often which was disappointing but the food was delicious and I will definitely be returning, with a reservation lol."
"Sushi is one of those foods I can eat mass quantities of, but I was never keen on the idea of AYCE. A friend of ours recommended Volcano's AYCE since everything was made fresh, so we decided to give it a try... it exceeded expectations! The dinner special is $22.99 and includes appetizers, regular (maki) rolls, specialty rolls or entree choices, and dessert. I started with a green salad, which was swimming in water, and included a watered-down ginger dressing. The shrimp tempura was also good, but noticeably frozen. We ordered a variety of rolls for the table and my favorite was actually the vegetable dragon roll, which included a sizable portion of sweet potato. To wrap up the meal, we all opted for green tea ice cream, which tasted both icey and chalky; a disappointment. The ambience was modern and clean, and for a Sunday evening, you could tell they have a good following. I'm not sure we would return on our own volition, but we wouldn't say no to another dinner with friends."
"We used to come to visit Ebi San. Under the new ownership we haven't been there as often as before. Our last trip there was the Valentine's Day lunch special. Who can say no to heart shaped sushi for the occasion? Service was the same as when it was under Ebi San, and ambiance was too"
"Decent size place with plenty of seating. I like that there are sections of seating. More intimate. Our server was great. I had a couple of questions and she was more than happy to help. I ordered a hot tea right away because it was super cold out. She brought it right away. We ordered appetizers and when my husband also ordered a hot tea she brought us an entire pot of hot tea. THat was FANTASTIC. I had never been brought the whole pot of tea before. Our appetizers came quickly but the flavor and consistency of the Gyoza- pork dumpling were underwhelming. We also got the Yakitori-grilled chicken skewers, They were nice and hot but the texture was like they were raw in the middle.Main Food came quickly as well. Ordered the Rainbow Roll, that was good and we also ordered the VA Beach Crunch Roll-it says spicy tuna but it really wasn't spicy. We enjoyed the flavor and freshness of our rolls. If you happen to look up at the ceiling you will see where someone has shot toothpicks up there. Totally bizarre. Overall I will give them a solid 4. They would have gotten a 5 but the appetizers were not that great. Everything else was good."
"Finally had my first visit and it was everything my family said it would be.The chicken katsu curry was wonderful! The menu is amazing so, take your time to study it before you order. We were there for dinner but they say the time to be there is during lunch because of the specials. The place is nicely arranged and the staff was welcoming and cheerful. For the ambiance; love the nice touch of fresh carnations on the tables.I did get the octopus balls appetizer and warm sake with a pot of green tea. The green tea was so very good that I almost drank the whole pot by myself!Apologies, no pictures to show this time. There are Korean dishes here that are next on my to try list!"

UK buffet is still our go to for all celebrations, including the times we celebrate ourselves! Even our foodie son from the West Coast was duly impressed with the quality of the sushi and the other offerings. The weekdays are great, but the weekends have a lot more to offer ( at a higher price, of course) including more Dim Sum selections. We especially love the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves. The steamed flounder and salmon are spectacular. The sushi is fresh and they come up with unusual combination rolls. My wife especially liked the combo roll that had banana in it and another roll that had cooked salmon and eel. Finally, we love the desserts, especially the sesame balls, tiny cheesecakes and pineapple cakes.Yukai is one of the best values in Virginia Beach especially if you like sushi. They have a nice general selection of cooked Chinese food. The hibachi/Mongolian Grill can be done to order with a great selection of sauces and proteins. We always found the staff to be friendly and efficient.

The Porch on Long Creek has been on my list of places to try for years so I was excited when my friend decided to have her birthday dinner here. I must say, driving up to the restaurant was a bit confusing. I was hoping I was headed in the right direction and thankfully, I was lol.We met around 4pm on Saturday, and there was no wait at all. We sat in an area where we could see the water and the views were amazing! The decor of the restaurant was beautiful as well! After looking over the Drink Menu, I decided on the Porch Paloma which was strong and very refreshing. We then ordered a few appetizers and chose the Virginia Baked Oysters, Cajun Fried Oysters, and Crispy Brussels Sprouts. Everything was great but the Cajun Fried Oysters were my favorite. My friends ordered their entrees and as we waited, I noticed a drink at another table that looked appetizing so I asked our server about it and she said it was the Hot As A Cucumber Martini and immediately ordered it. It consisted of jalapeño tequila, cucumber juice, lime and agave and was one of the best drinks I've ever had. The food was served fairly quickly and my friend's Prime Filet Mignon was tender, flavorful and delicious. It was a tad bit undercooked to her liking but it was great nonetheless. My other friend mentioned her Porch Cheeseburger was pretty good as well.Overall, we had a great experience and our server, McKenna was awesome! I most definitely will be returning and I can't wait to dine outside on the water in the warmer months.

After reading prior reviews I was optimistic about the food and less so about the service..as well as hoping we didn't get the server who couldn't get off their phone. I normally go to the Chesapeake location because theyre amazing. This location had a decent ambience. Our server was super nice, she was a young lady and I was thankful we didn't get the guy server whom I noticed was never without his cell phone. We ordered all kinds of appetizers and our sushi. The rolls were big, tasted amazing and the sushi cuts were perfect. The only complaint i had is that they didnt let me use my 10% discount from Yelp. Our server said that they stopped years ago but the coupon was still there and showing valid. But overall it still wasnt a bad experience! Check em out fot you sushi all you can eat needs!** YELP UPDATED REVIEW AS OF 09/15/2024 **I spoke with the owner and they do not accept any Yelp Coupons. I just wanted to give everyone a head's up if you have yelp coupons for this business.

Haven't written a review in a while, but after Nara, I knew I had to give them their stars. I recall seeing a post on Facebook asking people about their favorite sushi place in the area and Nara seemed to have shown up multiple times. So I finally took the time to check it out. It's located in the same shopping center as colattao so the parking lot seems a little hidden if it's your first time visiting. If you don't want to make a u-turn on independence, I recommend taking that back way behind McDonald's that eventually leads to the underpass lolSo! I started off with a few pieces of salmon nigiri and they melted in my mouth! I looooooove salmon nigiri and these were perfect. The rice was good, there was a small dallop of wasabi between the salmon and the rice, and when you dipped in soy sauce? Immaculate. I honestly would've been good to visit for just the salmon, but I had more on the way lolI also had a Mt. Trashmore roll which was Marinated Tuna, Salmon, Flounder with Spicy Cream Sauce, Baked over california Roll and the piece de resistance was the Dynamite from the sushi bar appetizers. It's Baked scallops with shitake mushrooms in japanese mayo! I personally loved it. If you're not a big fan of Japanese mayo or mayo at all, don't order it lol. Both were delicious and I finished it all, but I was so stuck on my salmon that I ordered moreMy server was sweet as were the sushi chefs. I can't wait to come back and introduce this place to family and friends. Thanks for a great first experience!

Great freshly prepared lunch with Great service. I chose to take a zoom call here. I sat at a quiet 2 top table at the window to people watch since the zooms are always..meahhh. Simple salad with sesame ginger dressing to start, followed by Salmon rolls and tuna rolls. Service was quick and courtesy. My sushi was made fresh with great bites of raw fish. This is my go-to when I'm having an extended day at work.

"We had a wonderful dinner. The eggplant appetizer was my favorite. My sister ordered beef pad Thai and I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. Everything was so delicious and the service was wonderful. It's a very cozy restaurant."
"Way better than the 3.9 stars it currently has. Recommended for sushi!!! So goodSo good"
"This is definitely in my top ten places to eat. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. Being a vegetarian is not always easy unless you're eating at Kotobuki. On top of having a nice selection they are very accommodating to change most dishes into a vegetarian version. I like that there's two types of seating. We usually do traditional table and chairs but they also offer traditional Japanese seating. When you find yourself in the area, stop by an amazing meal that will have you coming back again and again."
"Hands down one of the best restaurants on the peninsula, and most certainly the best Thai and sushi place in the Hampton Roads area. I have had several dishes here, and each one is super fresh and extremely tasty. In particular, the Pad Thai is simply breathtaking. I order it probably two-times per month. Also, I love the spicy tuna roll with crunch. The place is small, and quiet, so it's great for a date or meeting with friends. The staff is always very friendly, and they answer any questions you may have. Plus, I've never had my water glass get below half, which is a plus for their service. Seriously, go try this place out... I recommend the following dishes: - Pad Thai (Spicy Level 1-2) - Massuman Curry - Green Curry- Cashew Chicken - Drunken Noodles w. Chicken - Crab Rangoons - Spring Rolls- Spicy Tuna Roll w. Crunch - California Roll"
"Wonderful food, wonderful presentation, some of the best miso soup I've had. I'm gluten free, and they were great At amending some rolls (crunchy and crab) so I could eat!"
"The sushi was delicious. I never had fried sushi before it was scrumptious. The service was great our food came out hot and fresh. The seating was comfortable and we had plenty room for all our plates. The server came to collect our place and refill our drinks in a timely manner. I enjoyed their lunch buffet."
"What a great experience! Service and food were outstanding!!Both chicken dish were flavorful, tender and simply a wonderful dish!! What more would you want?? Ample food, great flavor and presentation and the service was top shelf! We'll be back! Thank you!"
"One word.... Amazing!!! This restaurant is amazing! You walk in and everything is just so beautiful! Was not expect to walk into a restaurant this pretty! Service was also top notch! So kind and friendly. The food was amazing! I wish I could have tried more of the sushi rolls but the one I didn't have was so fresh and tasty! Definitely worth a try!"
"From start to finish, I enjoyed my visit to Mahi's. Our sitting was perfect with views of the boardwalk and ocean. We seemed to arrive at the perfect time before dusk, allowing us to enjoy the sunset and sound of ocean waves. After nightfall, we were able to enjoy live music coming from the boardwalk. Our cocktails were very tasty, and the Oysters Rockefeller was a satisfying start. Our server was great and easily answered my questions about items on the menu. For dinner, I chose the crab cakes, and my husband had the fish and chips. I couldn't resist stealing a few fries off his plate. Potatoes are my weakness, lol. Everything was absolutely delicious and picture worthy. We couldn't resist finishing the meal with dessert. I chose key lime pie to keep the beach vibes going, and my husband ordered the Chef's Cheesecake, and boy, am I happy he did! While a bit tart, my key lime pie was so good, but y'all that cheesecake was creamy deliciousness! It was so good, and I will definitely be ordering it on my next visit. Mahi's was a great choice to end our day."
"We came around 3pm for a late lunch/early dinner and were pleasantly surprised to be able to partake of the lunch specials that would end at 3:30pm.I decided on the daily $5.95 Mango Martini special which was actually a bit more sour than expected, but cocktail-sour-appropriate level. I almost wonder if it was the sweetness of the house salad dressing that then made the cocktail seem a bit more sour than expected. The house salad was included with the lunch 3 Maki Special, which was 6 pieces of Philly, California, and Spicy Tuna rolls for $13.95.The combo hibachi lunch of chicken and steak for $14.50 was a great deal with a naturally sweet and salty teriyaki sauce and plenty of cooked vegetables and fried rice along with a soup or salad.Shrimp tempura appetizer came with 3 shrimp and a set of tempura vegetables- all perfectly crispy and not too oily, with a very light soy vinegar dipping sauce that's much less salty than straight soy.The service was efficient and kind and managed to welcome a walk-in group of 20 people around 4pm with barely a blink of an eye when setting up room for them to all sit together with no advance notice."
"Kero Sushi has been a favorite place for Sophia and myself since 2020. Their food has never been disappointing on every stop. Sometimes we went out with friends and other times just the two of us. Lately, we've sort of made this a go-to for lunch a few times after going to the movies. Let's see how this visit turned out. After checking out Blink Twice (good movie BTW), we walked in and were immediately seated by the staff. It was half full of customers, which is always fine for us. And everyone was pretty busy taking orders and prepping food. But a pretty calm vibe throughout. For lunch, we ordered lunch boxes which are favorably priced. It did take a while for our food to come out only because they had to deep fry the orders so in the meantime, they brought out a sample of their cucumber salad. It was actually pretty good to where I might order it down the road. Glad for the staff to save us during the wait. For my selection, I chose the chicken tempura lunch box, which came with french fries, California rolls, tempura veggies, salad, an orange slice and miso soup. Everything was delicious. I would've liked to have more seasoning on the veggies, but the sauce took care of it. Just a fine meal to have yours truly full for the afternoon. Great food with tentative staff. A win-win if you ask me. Till next time :)"
"Oishi was a great place to grab lunch! They had a wide variety of lunch specials at an affordable price, which made it the perfect spot for a lunch date with my boyfriend. I really enjoyed my Pork Katsu Box. It included Half California Roll, House Salad, Miso Soup, and Vegetable Spring Roll in addition to the Katsu. Took off a star because there was a bug in our soy sauce and the smell had a slightly stronger fishy smell than other sushi restaurants, but overall the food and service was great :)"
"Food is so flavor able here. The cooks are always so fun and a joy to have. You get plenty of food so you'll never go home hungry. And it's reasonably priced. What more could ya want?"
"We stopped by Osaka for the first time today and I am so happy we did. Service was amazing and so was the food. Probably some of the best ramen I've had here! I got the shoyu ramen and the broth & pork chasu was SOOO incredibly flavorful. My toddler and I could not get enough. I also ordered a Christmas tree roll and that did not disappoint either! Can't wait to come back and try some more items. 10/10 Definitely recommend"
"Excellent price for all you can eat sushi! The quality well surpasses what you might expect fromAn AYCE. When it comes to sushi, the quality is really the most important factor, is t it? O'Yummy on great neck has high quality, nicely sized rolls, sushi, and sashimi! The Crystal Roll is one of my favorites! They lose one star for long gals between visits from the server."
"We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is a great spot to introduce someone to a Japanese steakhouse for hibachi. We brought my son's best friend, and he was amazed. The food was excellent, and the staff were very pleasant. The chef was both amazing and funny, making it our favorite hibachi restaurant. The restaurant is clean and has a slightly upscale appearance. This was the first time we sat at a hibachi table, and it was worth it. The first time we came, we didn't have a reservation and had to sit at a regular table and order off the regular menu. So, one thing to note is that you need to have a reservation. Parking can be challenging with street parking, and you may have to walk a bit. There might be a parking garage nearby, but I'm not sure of its distance from the restaurant."
"We showed up right when they opened and was greeted with a smile! The place is very clean with regular tables and Japanese style low tables. It has a very authentic Japan feel to it. Our waitress was from Tokyo! We both ordered the spicy miso ramen and gyoza for an app. The Gyoza was light, fresh and definitely freshly made, super yummy! The BEST ramen we've had yet. Good spice and the pork melts in your mouth. 5 star quality food that rivals actual ramen in Japan. We'll definitely be back!"
"My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day dinner. We ordered the mussels as our appetizer, they were just okay. For our entrees we both got the whole branzino. The fish was delicious! It had great flavor and didn't need any additional seasoning. I do wish that they weren't stuffed with limes as baked limes do give a slightly bitter flavor, but they didn't impact the flavor too much. The aligot potatoes were definitely the superior side. Creamy and cheesy without the Swiss cheese being too overpowering. Loved them! We also had the Berry Mule and an amaretto sour for drinks. Both were also delicious. We will definitely be back!"
"We ordered to go on a Sunday, the menu pics on Yelp were very dated and prices had increased dramatically in the year since the update. I'd guess they get shipments on Monday or Tuesday as the tuna and salmon did not seem super fresh. It wasn't bad by any means, just wasn't great. We got Yakitori for my 5 year old, $7.95 for 2 skewers of 3 big pieces of chicken and hardly any vegetables (2 small pieces of I think some type of pepper on each skewer). It was decent and I felt like the price was fine. It would be a good lighter lunch. My wife and I had the Philly roll $6.95. Was pretty standard. They boxed it with the mango passion roll so the sauce from that got on some of the pieces. Spicy Tuna roll $6.96, I liked it, my wife did not.... They did overdo it on the sauce and it lacked a bit in presentation. King Snake roll, $13.95.... This one was good, but pricing is getting up there and I'm not sure that it's that good. Mango Passion Roll $12.95.... was good but the sauce kind of took over the box. The people were nice when I picked it up and it was ready to go when they said it would be. Place looks quaint and nice inside. I'll definitely go back as it's convenient to my house, but the five stars this has definitely feels rich. I'll update if my feelings change after a couple more visits."
"Did you ever live in or visit Japan? Do you like Sushi? Well come on down to Sushi Aka's they'll get ya right. They have "American" style and can go traditional depending on what you order. We had multiple delectables, including some delicious wagyu that was on special. Great for a date night, business meet-up, or for just a splurge. Arigato Gozaimasu!"
"I've been coming to Sushi King for years and still enjoy the food every time I go. Some things have changed since the pandemic. They no longer have a "salad bar" area but their menu hasn't changed so there's still plenty of options for food. The service can be hit or miss, some of the servers are more attentive than others. The restaurant is relatively clean, even when it's busy. The food isn't the absolute best in this area but it's still a great value for the price they charge for lunch or dinner."
"So good! Nice, clean restaurant with great service and food. We loved all of our sushi, the Mr Bean roll in particular. Though we were already stuffed, the family decided to order a third Mr. Bean roll to split between the 5 of us."
"I found this restaurant since my first option for dinner fell through. I just parked and walked until I found someplace promising. This was where I landed! This sushi spot seemed very upscale. The decorations were really well done and the sushi chefs were busy making orders. I sat in front of the sushi chefs and initially it was awkward for me. It was just me alone and no one greeted me. After awhile I went to use the bathroom and debate on whether I should stay. (The toilet was pretty awesome by the way, with a bidet feature I didn't use and a warm seat that took me by surprise!)I decided to stay and sat at the bar instead. There, I received service. I ended up ordering the soju mule, tuna carpaccio, and the salmon skin roll. The mule was very yummy! It was a perfect start to my dinner. Next, the carpaccio. The tuna was so fresh and I loved the flavors together. I was not sure if I should try it but it turned out super yummy. Finally, the star of the show. OH MAN. The salmon skin roll. What a choice! It was divine. The skin was so crunchy and the flavors just went so well together. I keep thinking about that roll! I'm definitely coming back for it!Honestly I would give 4.5 stars if I could but I have to account for the awkward beginning. I just didn't feel welcome initially even though I felt better at the bar. I will still return!"
