"This was a small spot with outdoor seating. There also was a bar outside, but not sure if it was part of the establishment. The menu was diverse while the service was friendly. The food also came out very fast. For an appetizer, the hushpuppies ($7) were ordered. They came with whipped butter, but it was in the small packages. There were twelve medium sized balls that were fried appropriately and came out extremely hot. They were very tasty. There was a nice batter to filing ratio with plenty of flavor.I had the fish tacos ($15). There were two large tacos with beer battered rockfish, jicama slaw, chili lime mayo, and Pico de Gallo. They were stuffed appropriately with a lot of slaw. I would have preferred the rockfish to be a little bigger, but it was not a big deal as they were good and fried nicely. The mayo was a nice touch with the rest of the filling. I opted for the potato salad as a side, and it was pleasant. I also tried the fried green tomato sandwich that came with basil goat cheese, roasted red pepper, and a balsamic reduction. This was well put together. Every component of the sandwich complimented each other nicely. Will I go back? Yes."
"Great service. Good food. My steak was a bit more done than I wanted, but the food was great! Great hush puppies!"
57 years and counting with our secret recipe. A delicious cup of she crab soup with lump crab meat and a touch of sherry. Tidewaters best.

"Very good! Wednesday was busy!I dined here a few weeks ago with my husband and his co-workers. I did not expect a Wednesday night to be busy, but it was. I know the restaurant offers deals throughout the week so this may have steered the crowd here.Nevertheless, we had a waiter and a waitress that took care of us, a party of 10 and they both were great and attentive.Overall, the meal and drinks were on point as usual. The only hiccup was the butter for the bread. It seemed as though the butter came directly from the freezer or frig because I could not spread it smoothly on my complimentary roll. The waitress came to my rescue... she easily swapped a bowl of butter from another table and it was all good.We also dined up front which had plenty of space to seat our party.I love it here! I love happy hour too... great deals here, before 6pm or 7pm.Have fun and enjoy life :)"
"Food was nothing short of amazing! Everything came out in such perfect timing from the appetizers. The staff was super helpful and insanely welcoming! I personally ordered the Brian's Classic which was a delicious assortment of Surf & Turf with a perfectly baked potato and salad topped with just the right amount of toppings."
"This place is great! Cheri is one awesome lady and one heck of a bartender! Sunday specials and some football are unbeatable! Come check it out and shoot the sh$@ with the locals! The OG side of the bar is worth checking out too! Cool spot!"
"The best steakhouse in the 757.It's so refreshing to see a place not only survive, but thrive. We first went 15 years ago, and it was even better this time. Our server was very attentive, and the overall service is next level. We went before a show at Chrysler Hall, and our waiter made every effort to expedite our meal.We ordered the Japanese A5 filet, and it was perfection in a piece of beef. The shareable sides were more than enough to make sure everyone got some. Even though it was the dinner rush, the restaurant was warm and wasn't overly loud.It was the best steakhouse 15 years ago, and it still is today."
"5 stars all around. Great service and wonderful food. We enjoyed the lobster sausage appetizer, ribeye steak, halibut, and carrot cake. It's is a new favorite spot -- beats out Byrd and Baldwin for a date night. Simple things to be aware of: complementary valet parking (if you forget or don't have cash, you can add the valet tip to your bill at the end and your server will bring you cash from the bar to hand to the valet -- who at least for us was a very respectful young college student who was quickly met us once we pulled up and quickly brought us our car.) Yes, gratuity (20%) is added to your bill, which is clearly stated on the menu and if you read just a handful of reviews of Zoes -- shouldn't be a surprise at bill time."
"Pan fried oysters were great! Crab cakes too. Skip the sangria, though. Great that it was open off season. Good service!"
"We took a party of 12 to Mike Dianna's on July 5, 2024. Availability was the deciding factor. The atmosphere was one of palpable rush to turn tables. Our server was insensitive to the state of the table and interrupted and rushed entree orders. One of the orders was "lost", leaving my spouse without a plate. They apologized profusely and comped her meal, but it still took way longer than it should have to get a medium-rare strip steak replaced. The drinks were "meh". The GR Smash was bereft of bourbon and only hinted at the fruit flavoring. Warm bread was excellent, but olive oil/salt/pepper arrived way after the bread. The entrees were mostly pleasing, although it's unsatisfactory, at this price point, to have "steak with mashed potatoes and green beans" or "steak with rice and summer vegetables". No other choices, no separate sides, no family style - and that's $59 for that 12 oz New York Strip, friend. When the best thing you can say is "they had space for 12", then it's time to plan better and reserve earlier for next time."
"The Amber Lantern is a cozy restaurant on the water in the Chesapeake area. It was the perfect spot to celebrate with friends and family for a special occasion. While it's definitely in the most unassuming spot: off the highway and by what appears is a lot of construction. Once you get there, you'll find a peaceful, refined restaurant that's nice but not overly pretentious or fussy. The menu is a mix of seafood, American, and pasta dishes. So there's a good mix for pretty much everyone! Don't sleep on the warm bread. It's excellent. They also have delicious drinks and cocktails if you're looking for a fun libation. I really enjoyed my pasta. It was rich and tasty. The serving size was generous, so I definitely didn't leave hungry. The service was so friendly and accommodating. While this place is not an everyday staple. It's definitely a nice once in a while treat if you're looking for something nicer."
"Food was amazing! Sides you can share, steaks that were sized like they are supposed to be and great selection! Customer service was great and our waitress was on it! And Ambiance was a quaint, nicely set up, not on top of each other...There is a dress code, but not strict, just no PJs, sweats, hoodies... so no beach and bum clothes... just take a shower and no holes. One rule they need is no cell phones on speaker... WAS super annoying!"
"Food is so flavor able here. The cooks are always so fun and a joy to have. You get plenty of food so you'll never go home hungry. And it's reasonably priced. What more could ya want?"

We ordered take out from Coastal Cravings, and it was delicious! We were not sure if they would have seats around 6 pm on a Friday because they had live music at that time, so we called in a take out order. We actually could have eaten there, as they had a couple of available tables both inside and outside. The inside is cute with a few tables. There are more places to eat and drink outside, as well as bar outside too. Our order was ready when we arrived, and the staff were cheerful and friendly. Our dinners were the fish and chips, which came with four pieces of fish, lots of thin French fries, and a tasty mayo-based dip. We also ordered the hush puppies appetizer, which came with 12 for $7. They were excellent and came with whipped butter. We also ordered the jerk chicken with rice and zucchini as the vegetable. It was spiced as expected--meaning we occasionally hit a hot pepper. Just the way we like it!Both meals were reasonably priced with large servings, providing us with enough to enjoy at lunch the next day too. We'll definitely return!

We visited AB Steakhouse tonight for the first time ever, and I'm pleased to say, the experience was amazing! from the sitting from the Hostess, to our waitresses, Alley and Roxanne. Our service was fantastic without us having to ask for anything, the staff anticipated our every desire and the Manager, Jeff, made several visit to ensure all was satisfactory. Now the food, the steaks were prepared and grilled to perfection! my medium rare steak couldn't have been any better if even Chef Ramsey had prepared it himself! The scallops were grilled perfectly and the oysters were lightly battered with a delicious flavor! The staff keep the bread coming, even before we ordered more......one of the best house salads I've ever enjoyed. All of the delicious food and the Waldorf Astoria level service was complimented with an acoustic guitarist serenading the patrons with the soft lighted environment. All in all, this experience was light years ahead of Butcher Sons and on the same keel of Ruth Cris', and all for a fraction of their price! Bravo Zulu ABS!

Food was delicious. I didn't take a photo of the dessert, but the crème brûlée & bread pudding was PHENOMENAL. The server went above & beyond for us as well. Highly recommend!

This restaurant has won a bunch of awards!!Very colourfully decorated interior, nice ambiance, good service. We had Broiled Combination Platter with fillet of flounder, scallops, shrimps, oysters and crab cake. Taste, quality of preparation, presentation and quantity was around average. The restaurant also has a souvenir/gift shop with it with moderately good collections.

My two coworkers and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here one evening. The waiter was beyond attentive and accommodating and went far to ensure we all enjoyed our meal. The ribeye was one of the tastiest pieces of meat I've had in a while. It was tender and seasoned well and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The crab meat Mac and Brie cheese was simply amazing. I shared it with one of my coworkers and she loved it as well! The salmon was cooked perfectly as well. The escargot did not disappoint, just needed more bread to sop up that garlic butter. We will definitely return on our next work trip as this place is truly a self indulgent treat!

A gone by error of something that was really good and special at one time! Fish snapper, rockfish were overcooked. Snapper had flavor but overcooked! The one old fashion was good. Missed the cheese and crackers. Service was good! No flounder in a seafood restaurant was disappointing. As much as I love the atmosphere, I'm sorry to say that we will not return.

"Good food and Tesla chargers! Service is always good too. We stop here to charge and grab a quick bite every time we come through. Swing by and give them a try, especially if you have a Tesla."
"Wonderful service and excellent food!! Was so thankful to have our waiter Axel treat us like royalty especially hearing we were from California visiting our daughter stationed at Fort Lee who got special leave for her bday this wkend! He explained everything on menu and recommended wonderful dishes! We all got exactly what we preferred and it was very prompt as well! It was a Friday night so we made reservations! Axel made my daughter feel even more special by allowing her to select the cake of her choice on the house! It was such a great night and we really enjoyed all of it!!"
"By far-my favorite Las Palmas location! The food is my favorite Mexican available in the Hampton Roads area. The location can't be beat-it's right by the Movie Theater in Lynnhaven Mall-great for a date night meal before a movie!!!Service was INSANELY awesome-very attentive server and staff and the food was SUPER fast!!!My ONLY concern or recommendation is that the Margarita just isn't quite what you can get at Jose's or other places."
"I haven't had hibachi in over a decade, but Sumo Japanese was a such a great experience, I feel I need more of it now. The waiter was awesome and the chef was entertainingly brilliant.Browsing the menu, I was intrigued by keeping the glass cup for their signature alcohol drinks so I ordered "The Sumo", which was very tasty. As far as food, I was contemplating between the filet mignon and chicken or just the chicken. I settled for the chicken and it was exceptionally well made. The overall prices are well worth it, considering the amount of food your getting + the entertainment of it being prepared right in front of you. There was so much food I had to get the rest to go. It's been almost a week since I have been and I'm considering going back already. As a heads up, incase you aren't aware, that if you plan to go in a party if 6 or more, your bill will have gratuity already added."
"Since arriving to this area I have tried two other hibachi style restaurants. I am used to an incredibly delicious restaurant in my hometown. To me, miyaki is the closest to that place. I was satisfied with the ginger chicken and the hibachi New York strip. I look forward to returning and trying the Korean dishes on the menu. My husband said the sushi he ordered was extremely tasty and fresh."
"Food was really good. Service was great. Francine was so sweet and kind. We weren't expecting much when we arrived honestly but we were pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. My youngest who is very picky loved the kids pasta. We got the crab cake for appetizer and it was very good and I'm very picky about my crab cakes. Definitely recommend stopping by when in Williamsburg, Va!"
"Finally went to this staple in Newport News--I will say, they need an upgrade in decor and booths and everything else..BUT the food was good! Grits were a little thick for my liking and more than needed but that's nice than too little! Eggs were cooked perfect, French toast was great. Our service was great as well, we were greeted as soon as we entered and our server was kind and helpful."
"Homestyle family made comfort Italian meals. Very large menu and good prices for today. Very well established and expect regulars who have come here for years."
"The food is fantastic. The dining room is well appointed and the view is excellent. Our entire group raved about the food. Our party of six arrived a few minutes before our reservation and we were seated immediately which was wonderful except it was 5 minutes before our waitress acknowledged that we were there and another 5 minutes before we were served water. It's a minor complaint on the service but at the price point they are charging I expect the wait staff to be put into a better position to impress. It almost seemed like they were more focused on delivering the juice to "open up our taste buds" and oblivious to the value in stopping at our table shortly after seating us to introduce themselves and offer water.I would certainly recommend Kimball's for special occasions and would dine again if we vacationed in the area more often."
"Everything went well. Food was delicious and we are planning coming back. So, so, so good!"
"The Seahorse Steakhouse is a busy place. I knew there was going to be a wait when I saw the parking lot so full. When you arrive get your name on the list at the counter and stand around with the other folks waiting for a table and stare at the case of cakes that look so very good. I was there during the prime rib special that is two days a week and seems to be a popular choice from what I could hear. The other patrons were friendly while we waited. I'm not sure how long it took to be seated but when my name was called I was put into a booth. At the other tables and booths I noticed the waitstaff knowing the names of the other patrons so that is always a good sign. My waitress was friendly and gave some recommendations. I ordered a piece of cake to go first thing as I wanted to be sure I got a slice of the pig pickin' with the pineapple and mandarin oranges. Bread and hush puppies were brought out with my beverage. I was even offered more if I chose. I went with the filet mignon and shrimp as I couldn't decide between the two so went with an option on the menu to get both. I also got a baked potato and mac n cheese. The potato was huge. Both the filet and the shrimp were great as was the baked potato. I wasn't a fan of the mac n cheese as much so when I got full I was ok not finishing or taking that with me.I will be back the next time I am in Greenville, NC."
"Best NC Bbq in The Peninsula, amazing sides, friendly fast service. Reminds me of the BBQ of my childhood in Pine Level, NC"
"This is my favorite quick hibachi place in Newport News,VA. They're food is fairly consistent, priced well, and delicious.Since COVID hot, they're doing to-go orders ONLY."
"Great staff and friendly service! Food was great portion and taste. Do yourself a favor and come and try."
"Wife and I made our first visit here this past weekend.01/14/22We did not have a reservation but we were able to be seated immediately at a bar height table in the bar area, which was fine for us.Our waitress, Theresa, was very helpful and attentive. Our food come out quickly. I had the BBQ Pork Chop which was cooked perfectly to order and was so juicy and tender. Very good.Wife had a burger that she said was wonderful.Appetizer was potato skins which were good. Drinks were well made also. We ordered a Chocolate Confusion dessert to go. We had it later on and it was fantastic and not too rich. Thanks to Theresa and the rest of the staff for making our first visit a great experience."
"I hadn't been to this restaurant in years but went back for a birthday celebration. Katana's did not disappoint. The food and service were the absolute best ( just as I remembered from a few years ago). We ordered the dumplings & edamame as an appetizer with the miso & clear soup, which was very tasty . The main entrée was Hibachi Chicken & Steak with veggies and fried rice. The portions were large, delicious, and filling.... can we say leftovers. I will definitely be putting this back in my "eating out" rotation. Thank you Katana for the great service and awesome food!"
"What a welcome surprise!!!! I haven't been here in years... not for any particular reason just haven't made it back.... And I went w a group of 7 people for a holiday dinner. Our waitress Erin was amazing!!!! I really cannot say enough great things about her!!! She was very attentive and had her head on a swivel all night! Our drinks were great! I had a gin and soda w lime and it was yummy! Our table ordered seafood dishes, spaghetti, and chicken w vegetables and there were a lot of satisfied people!!! They were very busy tonight and still got our food hot and ready! I would definitely go back here and their take out must be just as wonderful because several people came in for orders!!!!! I was surprised that they had liquor drinks and they were made well!!! I can't wait to try more items from the menu!!! Thank you so much for a lovely evening!"
"We took our son to his favorite restaurant for his birthday dinner 12/18. JAPAN SAMURAI HIBACHI....It was everything we wanted and more then we expected. Steak & scallops son , his dad had Scallops & fried rice. And both said they were cooked to perfection The chef was EXCELLENT He provided our entertainment and provided many laughs with uhs and ahs. Please take your loved ones to this exciting dinning experience"
"If you're looking for good, fast, affordable hibachi- this is your spot. If you're looking for a show, this is not your spot. The food was good, I really have no complaints. But if you go to hibachi to be entertained, then you should skip Sapporo. An egg was tossed, an onion volcano occurred, but then it was straight to the frying of rice. The food was great. Came out extremely fast, as expected. We shared a hibachi table with one other family and we were the only ones there on a Friday night. Perhaps it was the weather. Nonetheless, service is great on a slow night. Environment was about what you'd expect from a hibachi place, outside is a little sketchy, but don't let it deter you. Overall worth a visit for my family with young kids, we would return again- but not for a celebration that we actually want to celebrate with excitement LOL"
"This place was such a treat with great service! The waiter was a student from ECU and he was extremely attentive with great recommendations. I will be sure to visit again whenever I'm in Greenville."
"Tiny but mighty! Delicious wedge salad came split between us as requested. I got the calf's liver and it was good but not the best I ever had due to being too thin but it was tasty. The Mac and cheese was pretty amazing! Hubby got the shot ribs that were enormous and tender. He opted to add on the caramelized onions that were delicious. He commented the gravy was a tad salty but he never salts anything. Service was excellent. We will return!"
"Not many choices in town. Went here based on the couple of good reviews. Very clean, friendly server and good basic food. We went for simple fare -- grilled cheese, chicken soup fries and pancakes with bacon. Food was good, service fast. Would say this is your best bet if trying to avoid fast food joints."
