"My first time having INDIAN FOOD and what an introduction it was. The restaurant decor was very modern. An the ambiance wS amazing! We weren't sitting on top of another couple. Beautiful intimate setting. The food was sooooo good! EXCELLENT! I can't wait to go back!!"
"Extremely friendly service, quaint andCozy establishment in the heart of downtown Norfolk. Everything is made to order and the quality of freshness was top notch, definitely recommend!"
"This is a cute, clean place with great service and good food. It's Asian, but with a twist. It's not like anything else I have ever tasted. The soups are really flavorful, smell wonderful, and come beautifully presented. We also had the cucumber salad. The chunks were fat and kinda hard to spear with a fork and handle with chopsticks, but once I got it in my mouth- yum! Loved everything about this place and would go again. I didn't leave stuffed. The portions are just right."
"Sophia and I decided to stay in the Peninsula this Saturday due to weather. It has been years since we ate here so it was time to have some lunch and catch up.We were able to get a booth upon walking in. The crowd was semi-busy which is a good thing. TVs were showing NCAA tournament games and music filled the speakers. One thing we noticed is prices have gone slightly up. Inflation perhaps. Nonetheless, we were hungry and just went with the main course. I selected a large portion of Pho Tai Nam, which consists of round steak and beef brisket. This was pretty good and filled me up, which is the norm every time I order Pho dishes. And as usual, I added some chili oil for spices. Everything was pretty good and tasted well, leaving yours truly with a full stomach. The only true knock I have on the visit is lack of service. We were served with our meals fine, but after we got our bowls they didn't come back to check in on us or see if we needed any refills of water. There were two servers and they were quite busy so that may explain it. Other than the mishap, our visit was fine. We'll definitely be back for another go around. Till next time :)"
"The best specialty banh mi I've ever had! Quality meats, they did not skimp at all. The pork belly was tender and the pate was phenomenal. The bread was slightly crispy in the outside and soft on the inside. I have zero complaints. This will be my go to spot from now!"
"Sage Kitchen is a perfect place to eat, especially if you have a little one who doesn't like to sit still lol! My husband and I were able to eat and relax as our little one played at the playground outside. We sat outside, next to the playground which was perfect to keep an eye as our son was playing. Definitely one of my favorite to go restaurants especially if you have kids!"
"Oishi was a great place to grab lunch! They had a wide variety of lunch specials at an affordable price, which made it the perfect spot for a lunch date with my boyfriend. I really enjoyed my Pork Katsu Box. It included Half California Roll, House Salad, Miso Soup, and Vegetable Spring Roll in addition to the Katsu. Took off a star because there was a bug in our soy sauce and the smell had a slightly stronger fishy smell than other sushi restaurants, but overall the food and service was great :)"
"Pho was very good I had P4 round steak, flank, and brisket. Spring rolls were decent as well but not "amazing". Great sauce though! Additionally, not a ton of items on the menu besides pho. Service seemed quite rushed although the place wasn't busy for lunch. I wish our server asked for any appetizers first before entrees because it became confusing.Nothing really special about the place. Average tables, chairs, and decor."
"We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This is a great spot to introduce someone to a Japanese steakhouse for hibachi. We brought my son's best friend, and he was amazed. The food was excellent, and the staff were very pleasant. The chef was both amazing and funny, making it our favorite hibachi restaurant. The restaurant is clean and has a slightly upscale appearance. This was the first time we sat at a hibachi table, and it was worth it. The first time we came, we didn't have a reservation and had to sit at a regular table and order off the regular menu. So, one thing to note is that you need to have a reservation. Parking can be challenging with street parking, and you may have to walk a bit. There might be a parking garage nearby, but I'm not sure of its distance from the restaurant."
"José Tequilas has been my "go-to" Mexican restaurant for many years due to the great food and exceptional service. Since I was craving authentic, Carne Asada Tacos on a Tuesday (Taco Tuesday lol), I headed straight to the restaurant and was so happy I did.We were greeted right away as soon as we walked in and followed the server to our table. The restaurant is always very clean, which I love, and the servers are so welcoming. I knew exactly what I wanted to order, Carne Asada Tacos, and I swear the food came out in 10 minutes flat! The tacos were absolutely delicious and the carne asada was very flavorful, per usual. My only suggestion would be to double the tortillas so they don't fall apart or possibly serve the tacos with a tad bit less meat. By the end of my meal, I was eating the tacos with a fork lol. The rice and refried beans were just as great. José Tequilas never disappoints and is a great place for amazing food and drinks!!! This location has ample outdoor seating, which will really be nice in the warmer months. Definitely try them out if you haven't been! You will not be disappointed!!!"

I don't know much about this area, and a friend showed me Monsoon. I was pleased that it is Indian since I love Indian food. I got the lunch special of salad, saag and naan and washed it all down with a Prosecco. He got wings and samosas. Mine was delicious. Loved every bite and everything was well-portioned. Great service. Nice ambiance. Convenient corner restaurant in Peninsula Town Center of Hampton. I'd definitely come back.

When I say you NEED to try Stockpot, I mean it. I went for Sunday brunch and it was so good that I've been telling everyone about it since. The rosemary biscuits? Perfect. The chicken noodle soup? Amazing. I was so focused on the meal, I completely forgot to take a photo! This place really does have something for everyone, and I can't stop thinking about how great it was. If you're looking for a solid brunch in downtown Norfolk, Stockpot is the place to go.

Who would have thought you could find a pho spot in the middle of nowhere in Newport News? Lots of parking as it is in a large shopping plaza. I was surprised with the pho, the broth was rich and flavorful, 8/10. Bean sprouts, Thai basil, and lemon were fresh. I'd give the spring rolls a 6/10, it's kind of sad how small they were without much filling. You can also ask for a side of sliced onions and put sriracha and hoisin sauce over them with a squeeze of lime and eat it as a side dish with your pho. There was a lot of staff working, so was able to get seated, order, and eat quickly. Pretty large seating area, good for small groups and large groups.

The chef came out and made sure our meal was prepared to our satisfaction! Wow!!Great selection of local brews on tap. Stopped by for lunch today as we were in the area for an appointment-thank you yelpers for the recommendation! Normally my go-to for first time visit is a chirashi, but with Oishi's lunch specials, 3 rolls were such a better deal that I couldn't resist. Miso soup provided to start and was very pleasantly surprised by depth of flavor. All too often the 'free' soup tastes like troubled water, but this was very nice! Then we each picked our rolls (a limited selection for the lunch special - many more are available). I had spicy tuna, spicy salmon and eel & avocado; wife had california, avocado and shrimp tempura rolls. We were both stuffed when done; texture was great (additional seeds added to outside rice on roll to provide a little crunch. As a pleasant touch, bill was accompanied by two Ferrero Rocher chocolates! Definitely will return!

Service was amazing. Boba slush was so smooth and creamy. Pho was hot with a great clarity in broth prior to add ins, I was too quick and greedy to get a picture. Spring rolls were perfect size, great to eat before meal to hold you over. Not too big. Very clean and beautiful restaurant, lively and recently released songs are playing. Much seating, parking available outside. Children friendly. All indoor. There is a bathroom, entrance is handicapped accessible but may be a little difficult due to double door entrance.

"This is our new favorite Thai restaurant on the Peninsula! We usually get takeout but have dined in once. Service is always prompt and friendly. Highlights on the menu are the flavorful Tom yum soup, the pad Thai, and the green curry, which is excellent. I recently tried the khaki soi which is a rich yellow curry soup with egg noodles. It was delicious, and I look forward to ordering it again! Most of the Thai items we've tried are worth reordering. The exception was the Aroi platter--while the green papaya salad was good, the beef was very tough and gristly, so would not order that item again. Similarly, the "Asian" items are underwhelming. The shrimp shumai tasted like a reheated frozen item, and the wonton soup was average. We'll definitely be back, and there remain a number of Thai dishes on the large menu which I look forward to trying."
"I've been traveling to the Hampton Roads area a bunch for work lately and keep seeking out non-chain restaurants. Well, let me tell you, when I found Kente's on yelp, I was looking at the pictures and got hungry. That's always a good sign, right? So this lovely restaurant is in a house in a neighborhood that's been here for a long time. As you can see by the other reviews, this restaurant has been around for 20+ years. There is no problem finding parking on the neighborhood street. The staff is still just as welcoming as I'm sure they would have been on day one. When you walk in, you feel like you are walking into a friend's home. The food is also that good. I took two of my co-workers and they told me they couldn't wait to come back. Honestly, I agree, and I might have to make an excuse to visit to get the shrimp again. It was so good! One of their cakes even sold out while we were there, that's how great this place is!Thank you, Kente's, for being so welcoming to an out of towner! I can't wait to come back!Ps. They have square now. So they do take credit."
"Based on delivery experience:This place really gets you the most bang for your buck. With that said, it's not the most generous in serving sizes of all the sushi joints I frequent. The salad was good, dressing was okay. Miso soup was good as was the shumai. Sashimi dinner deluxe dish - felt cheated on quite a bit, crab sticks were included in the sashimi count... I've never been served imitation crab as sashimi before. Salmon maki probably would have tasted great had the hot food not been sitting on top of it and underneath in the delivery vehicle, cooking the maki half way and making it hot and chewy. Be sure to ask them to separate the hot and cold stuff! Leave tip for this on arrival and check the food. Also - get the sushi and sashimi combo - you won't get imitation crab in place of sashimi....Still, would definitely order again; pocket and bank account friendly. 3.5 rounded up.010/2020"
"I pulled in this evening on a whim because our usual "go -to," take-out place one strip-lot over was closed on Mondays. I had completely spaced on that fact, and after searching for 4th grade art project supplies?! I was DONE, SON! So- HRH#2(little son) of course could not have new Lo Mein cross his lips or dare to try anything, ... so I stuck with my guns and got that for Daddy and myself- we can eat cardboard, that's how we fell in love. I got little one McDonald's while I waited for carry out. OhMYGAWD!! This food was beyond delicious. The meat on the "beef on a stick was sooooo tender, and the Lo Mein was, I kid you not, SUPERB!" It was so nice to go home, ex-freaking-xhausted and just slide that msgdeliciousness urrrly goodness right into mah BELLY! Sorry, I mean, it was so nice to honestly serve a meal that felt like you were eating in a Washington DC Linen Napkin, refill your water every 2 minutes restaurant. Superb. Sorry Previous guys, I don't know if it's Virginia but.. call me Mrs. Jefferson.... We're movin on UP! You all won't regret it! And it's less expensive!"
"Tiny but mighty! Delicious wedge salad came split between us as requested. I got the calf's liver and it was good but not the best I ever had due to being too thin but it was tasty. The Mac and cheese was pretty amazing! Hubby got the shot ribs that were enormous and tender. He opted to add on the caramelized onions that were delicious. He commented the gravy was a tad salty but he never salts anything. Service was excellent. We will return!"
"The salads and soups here are so good! I like going here if I need a quick lunch. There are so many options for soups , that change daily. My fave is their vegan chili. Their salads come in a big portion and you can customize it with a lot of good options for toppings and dressings. They also have a pick two option if you want both a salad and soup."
"First time ordering take out from here. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it went. We ordered for delivery and it didn't take long for us to get our order. Our food was done right and no mishaps either. My only complaint is that the crab rangoon needs a bit more filling and that's all!"
"Come here for the good food (takeout). Don't come here for the decor, don't come here for the ambiance, dont' come here to socialize. Because there's none of that. Only good food with fast polite service. There is some seating inside if you want to "dine in". But I've never seen anyone eating in over the number of years I've been a patron. Besides, it's nothing to look at. Guest area needs lots of work. Just place your take out Chinese order, be on your way and enjoy!"
"Ordered from UberEats and this is absolutely the best Chinese food I've ever had! Ordered General Tso and beef w/ broccoli and both were hot and fresh with excellent seasoning. Shrimp egg roll was great as well! Family loved it all."
"Enjoy coming here for a quick lunch. I often get the pick 2 : chicken Caesar salad and soup. I either get the lobster bisque or broccoli cheddar soup and are always delicious! I've had ordered the she-crab soup one time and was somewhat disappointed. I was not expecting it to be a manhattan style base not cream-based like what I'm used to. Staff were always welcoming and friendly. I like that there were plenty of seats if you want to dine in. The place is spacious and clean. If you ordered a fountain drink, then it's nice to help yourself to a refill if you want to before you go! I would highly recommend this place."
"My mom and I decided to try this place for something different and new. The chips that we got once we sat down weren't fresh and could taste it in the chip. The salsa was pretty decent. I had ordered the small skinny margarita and it was a decent drink. I had ordered enchiladas verdes and I wasn't real impressed. According to the menu from looking back it said it came with the guacamole salad and not rice. The dish came with rice and it made the plate looking crowded. The beef mixture was so salty to the point it tasted like licking plain salt. I didn't even had a chance to tell the server it was too salty because he check on us the minute the food came out and didn't show up again until he gave us the check. I won't be going back there again. There are too many cons and plenty of decent Mexican restaurants in the area."
"I was unsure of what to think of this place when I first ordered it, but needless to say it exceeded my expectations. It was overall pretty good. I got the General Tso chicken w/pork fried rice, and wonton soup, which came with an egg roll, soup crackers, and a fortune cookie. The egg roll was a little doughy, but overall it was a great meal. Chicken and rice was great in flavor, wonton soup was great."
"The food is out of this world. Portions are large. The owner was wonderful. Very welcoming. This is take out only. Check out the lunch specials for $8.99."
"Amazing experience overall! The Crab Rangoon and Shrimp Eggroll were great. The Gen Tso's Shrimp had a sauce that was a little too thin BUT made up for that with flavor and the quality of the shrimp. Absolutely will order from them again!"
