"I love a restaurant that takes a reservation! We had an engagement on Thursday evening so we made a reservation to eat before hand. The restaurant was moderately busy and well staffed when we arrived.I had not been to this restaurant before but thought the fresh catch wall was a cool touch and it seemed like a good bar vibe. Our server was attentive and the food was excellent. I enjoyed the steak tacos with asparagus. Good serving size. We ordered the cookie skillet for dessert and it was awesome! Only wish there was more cookie- the cookie was pretty thin and in a smallish skillet."
"Fun "Love Shack" themed diner in Lakeside. They tend to stay busy, so arrive early to get seated quickly. I got the eggs, sweet potato tots, English muffin and sausage. Coffee comes with it if you ask for it. Pretty standard breakfast fare. Kitchen works fast. The menu (along with specials board) can be a bit overwhelming with all of the choices. Service is pleasant."

"Went here for the first time recently and enjoyed myself thoroughly! Our service was prompt, kind, and efficient. The inside was busy so we decided to sit outside instead of indoors. Music was good and enjoyable as well during brunch time! I ordered the (2) Blueberry Pancake Plate w/ over easy eggs & sausage & a side dish of Hash brown casserole. My boyfriend got a grilled chicken BLT with fries. Both were delicious! Excellent portions, especially for the price. We will definitely be returning!"
"Very impressed! Their Cobb salad is huge and looks SO good. I saw a lady at the table in front of us order this salad and it was gigantic and loaded to the brim with ingredients. They also had some nice mocktails on the menu (appreciated by this non-drinker) and will be coming back for the salad and peach tea fizz! Yum! We stopped in on a bike ride and had a light lunch with live music over the weekend with my stepson before he moves away for grad school. Tear. We chose this spot because they almost always have live music at the center stage on the sidewalk between this and the bar across the street. As expected, on a Sunday afternoon - they did! Service was slow but friendly. It took a long time to get our food after our order was taken and our server basically didn't show up for 15 minutes after our food was delivered (by someone else) to see if we needed anything. We got a Cowboy burger which is a huge burger with BBQ sauce and cheese on Texas toast. I didn't try it but stepson said it's a win. We also got a basket of fries on the side which was huge for only $3.50 and a small cup of soup which rotates daily and was a delicious brisket stew. I got a small garden salad for $9.99 which I felt was a bit overpriced with only lettuce, onion, tomato, and crouton. They have a ton of burgers on the menu here and some inventive options. A bunch of handhelds which are sandwiches, salads, and entrees with fish. Also a ton of starters and apps. Overall, beautiful ambiance outside on the patio with live music and a view of the boardwalk and the sea and a much larger and diverse menu than I expected."
"I decided to venture out and try a new, breakfast spot on a Sunday afternoon which led me to Sandfiddler Cafe. The reviews were great so I couldn't wait to try it out. I arrived a little after 12pm and it was packed, the only seating available was at the high-top seating area in the back, which I didn't mind sitting at.The staff were super friendly and gave me a menu right away. I decided on the Crabmeat Omelette which came with two sides so I ordered the potatoes with onions and some fruit. As I waited for my food, other locals arrived and sat around the counter area as well. You can tell they were regular customers which I loved. The Crabmeat Omelette came out fairly quickly and was amazing! The hollandaise sauce was flavored perfectly and the crabmeat was filled all throughout the omelette. I love veggies in my omelette so if I were to order it again, I would definitely add some onions and peppers but it was still great as is. The potatoes were just as amazing and definitely tasted homemade. Overall, I highly recommend stopping in and trying out this cafe. The space isn't super big so you may have to wait, depending on the time you arrive, but if there's space at the high-top seating in the back, I say take it and make some new friends with the locals."
"Delicious BBQ, amazing even. But I wasn't impressed with any of the sides. 5 stars was for the BBQ alone."
"My man and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich (I had it cold with PJ cheese, Cajun mayo ((WAS DELICIOUS!!)) spinach on ciabatta) and the Gouda sandwich (he had bacon, Cajun mayo, chicken). I also had the frozen Hawaiian mocha coffee with almond milk. It was delicious! It was also busy so we ordered online vs waiting in line to order, took about 30 minutes (which was fine as we went shopping and came back) the outside patio looked so nice! Definitely want to go back with my puppy and sit and enjoy! They send a text when your food is waiting. We enjoyed it! It was a nice (breakfast, brunch, lunch) spot and they close @14 For it being busier than usual today it was pretty fast!"
"Bottom Line: Don't ever hesitate! I have to say I almost did.My son lives nearby and I came for a visit. He picked the place. We pulled up and the parking lot was empty. It was a Thursday around 4:30pm. I looked at my son and said "I don't know about this...."He said "I do. Let's go!"He was right. Walking in, the first thing I fixated on were the tables. I want one sooooo bad. They are like backyard picnic tables but with American Flags painted on them w a super gloss lacquer. Beautiful. The lobby was spotless. Also empty. We stood and read the overhead menu board. We were there for burgers so we didn't get distracted w the sub options. My son had the Mafia w Steak, Onions, Peppers, Mushrooms, Chicken Fingers and cheeses for 11.99. I had the Westsider w Chicken Fingers, Mozzarella Sticks, Blue Cheese Dressing, Mozzarella and BBQ sauce for 11.99We also had a side of Mozzarella sticks and an order of Large Fries. The Burgers were delicious. That's all you need to know. In my opinion the burger options are overkill and a novelty. That's not to say we both didn't eat every single bite of our burgers and the toppings.Me personally, next time I would order a burger w cheese onions, mushrooms and save the mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers for the sides. My son loved his Mafia exactly the way it was. Last time they went my other son had the 716 and he said he wouldn't change a thing either. The fries were good. We basically took 80% of the order home for the next day. My son has eaten here several times and I can't wait to go back and have another burger. The people running the place are perfect. No nonsense. "Wadda ya want?" Kind of people. The place started filling up as we sat and ate. I guess we were just early. My son said some days it's packed. We talked about trying a sub next time but I don't know if I can pass up such a delicious thick juicy burger like that!Bottom Line: Don't pass this place up. Work your way through the menu then go back for your favorites!"
"I had to get old faithful today. For the past month, I've been getting the chicken and dumplings or the burgers. Grilled cheese and jam today. It's a must try. This place is great. Staff is very friendly and food is incredibly delicious. It's hard to beat that. If you haven't tried this place, you need to."
"Meat Stromboli was awesome! Not overcooked or greasy. Soft crust, great sauce, fresh ingredients- it is my go to guilty pleasure and the price is perfect!"
"Delicious pizza! I had kind of a long wait for a phone order, but they were backed up from a large order. Garlic knots were very good as well!"
"Fab lunch experience. Quick and fair priced with veggie options. Best of all...thin crust fire oven style pizza was delicious. Double fried tater tots clogged my arteries, TOTally worth it though. Staff were friendly and attentive. Shared parking lot."

From start to finish our entire experience at O&A was perfect! I called ahead of time to make reservations, and even though we arrived a little early we were promptly seated. I had she crab soup, salmon limone, and cheesecake. My partner had Cesar salad, seafood pot pie, and molten lava cake. My beverage was the pear mule, and he had a local beer. All of our food and beverages were served textbook! There's plenty of options for all palates regarding food and beverages. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The vibes at O&A give off an upscale local watering hole with fine dining quality food. There's lots of sports on the TVs but it's laid out perfectly that you can hear the person sitting across the table from you without yelling. We loved this place and look forward to enjoying it again!

I love SBs Love Shack! It is such a cozy, welcoming place to grab some comfort food and a cocktail, enjoy the eclectic decor, and chat with the wonderful staff (special shout outs to the owner Sarabeth and Luke the bartender!). It's no wonder this spot is often packed; everyone is so friendly and the food is really good!I absolutely love breakfast food at any time of day, so my go-to menu items are the Big As A Whale, the Whole Shack Shimmie Sammie, or the scallion and cheddar pancakes. Honorable mentions go to the biscuits and tater tot hash, but everything I've tried is great. If you want to make it a boozie brunch, you can never go wrong with a Momosa. Service is always fast but you'll likely want to stay awhile and enjoy the atmosphere!

This place is always great. They usually have a line out the door from opening until about 12. We have been here more than 6 times in the last year and maybe more and it's consistently good with great service. If I had to be not picky the only negative isn't really negative if you understand. Then they are busy with a line out the door, when it is obvious you're finished and have paid they politely ask if you're done. It makes sense because they need the table for more customers. We have only been asked once and it was very polite. Again, I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch. Great food, great service, fair prices, and good ambience.

We stopped by Lager Heads located at 3315 Atlantic Avenue to grab a bite to eat. It's hard to beat the view of the Atlantic Ocean here. It was very calm today and it looked like you could see for miles. They weren't busy so we were able to score a couple of seats at Horseshoe shaped bar, overlooking the boardwalk. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We decided to try the chicken wings with their hot sauce. When they arrived, it took my breath away, they were piping hot and the aroma was wafting out everywhere. Once they were cool enough to touch I grabbed the drumstick and took a bite. I was very pleasantly surprised by the crunch and the amazing flavor in these delicious wings. They were cooked perfectly with the inside hot and the outside crunchy and then tossed with the beautiful sauce. These were some of the best wings I have ever had, bar none, and I'm someone who knows good wings! I'm already planning my next visit here because I will be thinking about these amazing wings for quite a while.

If you get the pulled pork sandwich, hushpuppies and fries it is PERFECTION. I could absolutely eat my weight in hushpuppies. THEY ARE LITTERALL THAT GOOD. The platters are not as good as my VA Beach local spot Im in love with so I will have to give them a solid 4. When we asked for Brisket I thought it would be a chunk of brisket. It was pulled meat. That is ok but I am spoiled when it comes to BBQ. They have a few sides to choose from. The potato salad is good but It taste like everyone else. Stick with the pulled pork sandwich and hushpuppies and you will be fine. DONT FORGET THE HUSHPUPPIES!!!!!! I'm hungry just talking about them.

Waveriders is the move if you want a sandwich to take to the beach. On a weekend Outer Banks' trip, the girls and I ordered sandwiches for our beach day. There is a sandwich for everyone here. My bestie who has the home here will always grab a sandwich while she's in town. Her family loves it. We ordered online ahead of time and picked up the goods in person on our way to the beach. There was a lot of parking out front so pick up was easy.I ordered the Chuck and added mozzarella and tomato to it. This sandwich was filling! I loved how fresh the ingredients were. My friends devoured their sandwiches too. It's the perfect quick takeout beach day stop. I highly recommend checking it out.

I had the beef on Weck roll and I loved it. The beef is prepared there. It was warm, moist, tender and flavorful and I encourage everyone to try this place. Service is great and the Buffalo memorabilia is fun to read. Next time I intend to get the wings.

"*only an update to my last review: still my favorite bbq restaurant in Virginia. We come here from DC. So far I've ordered: -ribs -burnt ends -brisket - pulled pork -sides: corn pudding and fries All phenomenal. They sell the bbq sauce and dry rub. Check it out!"
"Sophia and I decided to stay in the Peninsula this Saturday due to weather. It has been years since we ate here so it was time to have some lunch and catch up.We were able to get a booth upon walking in. The crowd was semi-busy which is a good thing. TVs were showing NCAA tournament games and music filled the speakers. One thing we noticed is prices have gone slightly up. Inflation perhaps. Nonetheless, we were hungry and just went with the main course. I selected a large portion of Pho Tai Nam, which consists of round steak and beef brisket. This was pretty good and filled me up, which is the norm every time I order Pho dishes. And as usual, I added some chili oil for spices. Everything was pretty good and tasted well, leaving yours truly with a full stomach. The only true knock I have on the visit is lack of service. We were served with our meals fine, but after we got our bowls they didn't come back to check in on us or see if we needed any refills of water. There were two servers and they were quite busy so that may explain it. Other than the mishap, our visit was fine. We'll definitely be back for another go around. Till next time :)"
"Cute little place, the ambiance inside was nice! The staff were very welcoming, attentive, and polite. I got the build your own breakfast sandwich and the day in Venice coffee. Both were phenomenal! The croissant was flakey and everything was fresh. The coffee was smooth and the flavors stood out yet not too overpowering. My coworker and I both agreed we're gonna have to come back here again!"
"I enjoyed a sausage, egg, and cheese with vegetable schmear, lettuce, and tomato at The Bagel Baker. The bagel was chewy and fresh, reminiscent of a New York bodega, and very well seasoned and salted. The sausage was excellent, and the schmear was flavorful. Offering a casual diner-style interior with plenty of seating; tables quickly turnover for a fast bite. Just like in New York, you need to be prepared to order (this is not the type of place where you chat with the host)."
"Local to hotels, friendly atmosphere, fast service, great coffee. They have a whole menu of different food items."
"My friend and I came in on Easter Sunday, 2024, and had to wait around 30-45 minutes for a table. We sat outside on one of their benches and the time flew by (good company makes everything better, #AmIRight). We were sat and ordered. We had a variety of servers, all excellent and very attentive. Totally a good flow of people there.I had the chilaquiles power bowl special, and it was so good!! Quite a bit of food, and all delicious. I would order that again if I went back and it was still on the menu. I would definitely like to return to try other specials. Cool OV spot!"
"This was a great sandwich shop! My family was out Christmas shopping when we found Poor Richards. We were looking at the board out front when a passerby stopped and told us to definitely eat there. We were sold. There's a menu board right inside where you wait in line (if there is one, there was for us) and choose what you'd like. You order and pay at the register, and then seat yourself. They call your number on your ticket when your food is ready. I got the crab cake sandwich which was a 10/10. Really great. The crab was lump and it wasn't all filling, which happens sometimes with crab cakes. I finished most of my sandwich, but it was a pretty big portion. I also had the cucumber salad which was really good. I could've eaten more if I had room! Everyone else liked their order, too. No complaints at my table. We'd definitely return when we're in the area!"
"The best specialty banh mi I've ever had! Quality meats, they did not skimp at all. The pork belly was tender and the pate was phenomenal. The bread was slightly crispy in the outside and soft on the inside. I have zero complaints. This will be my go to spot from now!"
"I love going out for coffee and Pourfavor has been on my list of coffee shops to try for a while. Since I was in the area, I definitely had to stop in. I absolutely loved how cozy this shop was. The beautiful art on the walls and the string lights really made it stand out. The shop looks smaller from the outside but I was shocked to notice all the seating all throughout the place. We were quickly greeted when we walked in and I was blown away with the large array of pastries and baked goods. Everything looked amazing! We decided on the Quesito which was a sweet puff pastry filled with cream cheese and drizzled with caramel and the Spinach and Ricotta Croissant. We then ordered our coffee drinks and sat in the chairs to wait for our items. The Mocha Frappuccino was absolutely delicious! The chocolate drizzled all throughout the drink really set it off. The Caramel Latte was pretty good as well but I'm sure it would have been better with an oat or almond milk versus the regular 2% milk that I chose. The pastries were served warm and tasted good. I really enjoyed the Quesito. Overall, I can't wait to return to try their other amazing pastries! The coffee was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly."
"A real original gem in downtown Norfolk. Breakfast is phenomenal here and the coffee was wonderful too. When my picky-eater colleague returned to the restaurant EVERY DAY of our workshop, I knew this was the best place."
"Sage Kitchen is a perfect place to eat, especially if you have a little one who doesn't like to sit still lol! My husband and I were able to eat and relax as our little one played at the playground outside. We sat outside, next to the playground which was perfect to keep an eye as our son was playing. Definitely one of my favorite to go restaurants especially if you have kids!"
"We had 5 orders placed for my coworkers and I. The lady on the the phone was pleasant and respectful. She said it would be a 25m wait. When I arrived, there was a long line of people waiting as well as people enjoying their food. By the time I got to the front, my order was already done. All of my coworkers were very content with their Philly cheesesteak. I, on the other hand, had the chicken cheesesteak with sweet peppers and onions (12"). It was extremely flavorful and so juicy that the oil seeped through the paper lol. Putting it in the toaster oven for later tonight. Great eats for sure!"
"Services is amazing and food is out of the world , I love the redneck egg rolls place is just outstanding."
"We've been coming here for years, and somehow I've never reviewed it. This could be for the best though, as my early reviews lacked substantive detail or information. You come here for the pizza. That deep dish Chicago style pizza. The other pizzas do look good, and even tonight I heard some patrons commenting that their pizza was better than another local place that is known for great pizza. That being said, I've never ordered anything other than the deep dish. I've never been to Chicago, but from everything I've read, this pizza is the closest you'll come to true "Chicago" pizza outside of the Windy City. The other food is good, wings, gyros, etc. and I've sampled some of that, but I keep coming back for the pizza. It has a 45 minute cook time, so there's been a time or two I've called ahead to order it so we wouldn't be waiting. The walls are covered with all things Chicago. Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks are well repped. Pics of the skyline, local Chicago products help to make you feel like you're in a pizza place in the upper Midwest. The service is good, just keep in mind that it's a small family run joint. You may wait a beat or two, but they always give great and friendly service."
"I grew up in Montreal, so I grew up with a different kind of bagel, the best kind. I can't find Montreal bagels around these parts, so the bagels at NY Bagel Cafe seems like the next best thing! Taking into consideration the type of bagels I find in America (huge, dense and tiny hole), these were pretty good. I heard the family is from upstate, so that is already a good start, considering New Yorkers are known for their bagels. For my first visit, I ordered a breakfast bagel with egg, bacon, mozzarella on an everything bagel, toasted. Wow, this bad boy was pretty generous in size and I was stuffed by the end. I should have saved half and saved the other half for later. BUT, there it wasn't. It was gone.Again, for an American bagel, the exterior of the bagel had a nice outer crust, crispy with a nice, even distribution of the everything seasoning. Asking them to toast the bagel for the sandwich was definitely a nice move. The interior of the bagel is dense and chewy. If you squeeze the bagel, it had a nice bounce to it. The egg was cooked perfectly, over hard (but just cooked enough without it being rubbery), bacon crispy and the mozz had just melted enough. I also ordered a baker's dozen to take home, a mix of jalapeno cheddar, everything, sesame, blueberry and French Toast. I really appreciated the fact that they wrapped the French Toast in parchment paper before adding it to the baker's dozen. They definitely get bonus points for that. It is dusted with some powdered sugar, so it's a nice gesture to be like "before you ask, we thought of it already, here's your sweet bagel not touching your savory ones".It will take me awhile to get through the baker's dozen, even with help. The bagels are so large, I can only get through one half at a time. So, before they grow moldy, I already halved them some of them and froze them. Hope they freeze well! Stay tuned...Things to note:- during my visit, it was pretty busy. I think they have online ordering so try that if you're in a hurry.- limited seating. I saw 3 tables of which all were occupied. It's a pretty compact space for their kitchen and seating, so the tables seemed out of place with the long line forming. - they have a pretty good variety of flavors, but they make limited amounts of each, so if it's sold out, try again tomorrow.Enjoy, Friends and never stop exploring!"
"Rainy Sunday - staying close by! Ran across order a cheese pizza to go and had a beer while I waited! Was in and out in 10 minutes. Cold beer! Pizza was hot and fresh! Good tasting sauce and dough was nice! Small flop but still a solid pie."
"My fiancé and I got the chance to sit down and dine at this place after a whole night of drinking. It was a great cure for my hangover. Great fish and chips and extremely tasty curry sauce (the fish tastes good dipped in it as well). Our order was rung up by a nice staff member who advised us not get additional curry chips on top of our fish and chips meal because it would be too many chips for a bigger additional charge. He instead offered up just getting the curry sauce to accompany our meal at a lower cost. I think others would have taken advantage of that opportunity to profit off of naïve customers, so we truly appreciated him for not letting us blindly order from the menu and keeping it fair! He was absolutely right because we were really stuffed by the end of our fish and chips meal.Loved it here. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the simplicity of the place and the kind staff. We highly recommend this place and we will be back!"
"Food and service was excellent. Great view looking over the water. Bread pudding alone is worth the visit"
"Had to stray from our usual pizza option due to hours being different in the off season, but it brought us to Cosmo's which ended up being a nice surprise! We ordered two large pizzas and wings for carry out. The food was ready within 15 minutes, hot and fresh. Pizza was yummy with a really great sourdough chewy crust, toppings were fresh and flavorful, wings were large and tasty as well. Overall, this was a win and a nice discovery after coming to the area for 30+ years. We will be back!"
"Well, i had recently put in a review about my favorite local coffee place, then on a weekend getaway we found this place. Well, this place was amazing too. For starters they give extra shots in their coffee so there is more bang for your buck. And the coffee is so good, great balance in the mocha without being tooth meltingly sweet. I got a piece of the bacon quiche and it was really good. The service was amazing (why they got that 5th star). So go take a walk a block or two from the beach and get yourself a great coffee. If we lived here this would be our everyday go to place!!!"
"The food at Indulge Bakery is first rate, and it's got a cute, relaxing vibe!Tip: The bakery is situated in a very historic townWhen I first came here, I enjoyed a truly Legit grilled cheese sandwich. It was made with not one, not two, but four different cheeses - totally delicious!"
"We really enjoyed the food! The service that the staff provided when we stopped by for lunch was great! We will return!!"
"Was my first time trying one of their sandwiches after hearing so much about this cafe from a coworker. I had the breadbox blt sandwich and it's probabaly the best cold cut sandwich I've had here in Virginia. I ordered to go but everyone was very welcoming to all customers and friendly as well. Will be back for sure and will recommend to others."
