"Food was good! The chili oil wontons were flavorful! Little Dude #2 loved his chicken wings! Big Bro ate his beef fried rice without complaint. Daughter & Littlest Dude shared the Lan Zhou soup. Hubby liked his seafood soup and I liked my chili oil soup. Noodles were all amazing, just don't let them sit too long in the soup. Service was AWESOME! Super friendly and attentive!"
"Anya Thai Cuisine, the new kid on the 12,000 block of Warwick Boulevard, Newport News, has it going on! The space has a chill Asian vibe, broad authentic menu, warm and hospitable hosts and servers and can prepare your food as Thai Spicy as you like it. We stopped in last Friday night for a family feast. Anya checked off all the boxes:1. We shared Summer Rolls (4 per order). They were soft wrapped with fresh shrimp, cabbage and pork, with house made peanut dipping sauce. Excellent.2. We next split two bowls of Tom Kha Soup with four flat bottom spoons. The coconut milk, veggies, mushroom, langyel spice and chicken were likewise a taste sensation. Both were terrific appetizers. 3. As was the Thai Calamari with sweet/sour dipper. Crunchy with mild chew from beginning to end. We then went our separate ways with individual entrees. My Drunken Noodles (Thai Spicy) were delicious, and the lemongrass made my nose run as expected. So too, the Pad See Ew, which while the heat profile was tame, still captured the taste buds without remorse. The Best Ginger Stir Fry was a near revelation to my sister, who sucked it down without offering a taste to anyone. All she could say was, "I didn't know ginger was so amazing." She repeated this chant into the next morning. The Garlic Stir fry caused a similar reaction from my spouse, who at least let me sample from her bowl. I concurred. Even the small candy that accompanied the check was so remarkable that we returned the next day to ask where they had purchased this coffee jujube so we could buy some. Anya was pleasantly surprised by our appearance, and was able to advise where she found them. We ended up buying out the entire supply at Farm Fresh International Market. That doesn't happen every day!"
"My absolute favorite place in Chesapeake VA. Just down the street from my house. This is where you will catch me on a random Tuesday or Wednesday. This gem of a restaurant is unique in its own way from other hot pot places. You start off first ordering on a tablet. This includes your broth, veggies, meat, sides, and of course your drinks. After you submit the order, shortly after the robot servant will bring you your drinks. Which is so jarring at first! But it's pretty fun after you start to watch it go around the dining area delivering people's drinks. After that while you are waiting you could go to the sauce bar and grab your condiments. You could get a bowl of hoisin sauce, siracha, soy sauce, or even my favorite: boom boom sauce. Which is like a sweet and spicy sort of mayonnaise based sauce. After they deliver the pot of broth for you and your compadres they set the dial to high on the stove in front of you. When they deliver the veggies, meats, and sides you can start cookin! Yes, you will have to cook the foods all by yourself. So if you're not willing to put in some work this place may not be for you. But it's real easy!I like it better this way since I can take the food right from the pot when it's ready. My preference is the Tom Yum broth, egg noodles, tofu, and pork belly to start off, with an assortment of veggies. This combo is the most satisfying to me. Especially after cooking the pork belly in Tom yum broth then dipping it in the boom boom sauce. So tasty! You can reorder more if you're really feeling hungry. They only charge you per person. So most items on the menu don't have a limit. With the exception of a few premium items and drinks. My apologies, I could go on and on about how much me and my wife love this place. But this gives you an idea of what to expect and how to start off especially if you're on the fence about this kind of restaurant. Don't overthink it. Just go!"
"Overpriced for the quality of the food. I definitely won't eat here again since there are much better and reasonably priced Vietnamese nearby. I ordered a smallChicken pho ga with beef broth instead of chicken broth. The noodles were overcooked and gummy, and it was mostly noodles and very little broth. The broth tasted pretty good. Not the best I've had but decent. I also got shrimp and pork summer rolls. The pork tasted like it sat uncovered in the refrigerator and had no flavor/seasoning. I guess I'm spoiled because most Vietnamese restaurants I've tried marinate their pork so it has a nice flavor. The shrimp were cut super thin, and there were no discernible herbs in the rolls, so that made them really bland. The sauce was super sweet and needed sambas but all they had was sriracha. My husband ordered a seafood soup and said it was okay. For drinks we only had water. The atmosphere is like a quick service place but they charge a sit-down restaurant price. For the two of us we spent $55ish without the tip. Totally overpriced for the experience and food."
"Beautiful traditional Thai restaurant. Prices were good and food was decent. We ordered fresh spring rolls with shrimp, pad see ew with beef and red curry with tofu. The spring rolls were delicious and the dipping sauce was excellent. Lunch came with a small side salad and a fried spring roll. That was basic but also pretty good. The pad see ew noodles were overcooked and a little gelatinous but still tasted good. The red curry was a little overly salty but still flavor was nice and the tofu was perfectly lightly fried. There is a lot of good Thai food in the area. I would come back but this wouldn't be my first choice."
"One of my favorite places to get banh mi in the 757 area! It's comparable to my viet boyfriend's mom's. SO YUMMY. I always get the combo roll or the grilled pork and cha lua roll. Both are so delicious. Their bread is made in-house and are so fluffy and not dry. The meat to veggie to bread ratio is just perfect. Sauce amount is just right too. Every bite is like HEAVEN. Service is quick too. They have self ordering kiosks, so I don't really talk to anyone until I pick up my food at the counter. Casual environment, seems like it used to be a frozen yogurt shop or something? I mostly get their food for takeout though!foodstagram|@ivyshungry"
"The sushi was delicious. I never had fried sushi before it was scrumptious. The service was great our food came out hot and fresh. The seating was comfortable and we had plenty room for all our plates. The server came to collect our place and refill our drinks in a timely manner. I enjoyed their lunch buffet."
"Was in the mood for seafood but passed their sign and decided to try it. I went with the green curry with fried chicken. I don't normally order curry dishes but Amaz Asian Cafe Bistro has changed my mind. I should also add that Pan was helpful and very gracious. Thank you for a nice casual dining experience."
"This was probably the best surprise for the Norfolk/VB/Portsmouth area! I moved here back in July 22' from San Diego. As you can imagine, the restaurant scene here isn't quite as bustling. This place got my vote from bite one!I ordered delivery so can't speak to the restaurant itself, but from what I see online it looks like a very small place and probably more conducive on to go orders. That shouldn't deter you. The best Thai joint in San Diego in the heart of Uni Heights had only two tables and a long down the street with a cult following!I ordered the spring rolls, pad Thai & Krapow Kai Dow. I'll open with this, I do think the family might be from Laos or pull some of their flavor profiles in that direction. What does this mean: what you might think of for pad Thai might be different here. Trust me, it's for the better! Their pad Thai leaned more savory than tangy like a lot of joints tend to make their pad Thai. I actually grew up having a similar pad Thai in Florida so it was quite nostalgic for me.Spring rolls were super tasty, fresh fried, not greasy and clearly home made. If you've ever had real fresh & homemade fried spring rolls THIS IS IT! The Krapow was super delicious, strong flavors of the fresh basil. Ground pork was perfectly done (e.g. very finely ground with no inconsistency). The only thing I was sad about wasn't their fault, it's actually mine. The fried egg unfortunately cooked all the way through. Not their fault: delivery in sealed package + drive time = fully cooked egg. This one might be an eat in house item if it tickles your fancy.I definitely look forward to trying out more of their menu in the future, maybe pay a trip in person. If you're on the fence and are sick of the 1 of 12 restaurants all with the same name owned by different people (you know the ones)... give this quaint eatery a try!"
"Love love love this place. The soup is rich and flavorful and the fresh roll is big enough to be a meal (we gobbled them too fast to take a pic.) the service was on point and it's a cute, simply appointed establishment. This place is delicious and perfect on a cold day for some great flavors w huge portions!!"

My husband and I's first time trying Noodle Man was on a Saturday night via delivery through DoorDash. The order came quickly and was accurate and hot! We ordered the Pork Wonton appetizer with Chili Oil and they were surprisingly not spicy at all. The prominent flavor was actually ginger believe it or not. I found them to be light and delicious, although not what I was initially expecting. For dinner, I tried the Chicken Fried Rice and the Mongolian Beef Stir Fry Noodle dishes. Both were delicious, but the Mongolian Beef Stir Fry Noodle was my number one favorite. The beef was perfectly cooked and not full of fat as you often find at most Chinese restaurants. The spice level was perfect and the szechuan peppers added the perfect amount of heat. I love how this dish was full of veggies between the two different peppers. Noodles and rice were both cooked perfectly. My husband had the Hot & Spicy Noodle and he enjoyed it thoroughly. He wasn't very hungry going into dinner, but managed to enjoyed the entire soup. We both really enjoyed the food we had from Noodle Man and I am pleased that we have found our go-to Chinese restaurant in the Virginia Beach area. We will definitely be repeat customers!

Growing up in Asia and among many Asian cultures as an American I always get excited when something authentic comes into our area.Every Asian culture has their own version of hot pot just about and Urban Hotpot shares that diversity within their menu. Everything is customizable in every step of the way so if you're not too sure or are new to Asian cuisine's experiencing this is a good start. I enjoy the fact that it's pretty much all you can eat so the opportunity to venture as far as you want is accessible. The staff is friendly and helps understand how to dine hotpot style for those who are new to it. I can't wait until our next visit because it's a hit for me every single time!

Our most favorite in Chesapeake. Always get the same quality food here. Our go to is the Panang curry and the Pad Kana. Their Thai tea is huge!

Kim'a Banh Mi & More is a Vietnamese eatery that specializes in authentic Vietnamese style Banh Mi sandwiches and a variety of other Asian and Vietnamese eats. It is located in the Chic's Beach Plaza, stationed between a Little Caesar's to its left and the La Herradura Mexican Restaurant to its right. It was formerly the home of Swirly's Fruit, which was an ice cream and frozen yogurt bar, as well as a boba tea shop. The transition appears to have been made during the fall of 2021. Kim's Banh Mi & More bakes their own Vietnamese style baguettes daily, which are also on display and can be purchased separately. The Banh Mi sandwich is a unique fusion dish that originated during the period of French colonialism in Vietnam during the late 19th century. The Vietnamese took the traditional French baguette and gave it a much thinner crust that was lighter and crispier than the French style baguette. The Vietnamese also added their own unique fillings. The dining area is bright and airy with four square top tables and one rectangular table. I counted a total of 20 chairs altogether for their dine-in customers.A wall menu states that each Banh Mi sandwich is served with a fresh house made baguette with fresh cucumbers, cilantro, spicy green peppers, pickled carrots & radish, and the proteins of your choice.A kiosk for is available for self-serve ordering and is very user friendly. You can customize your orders by telling it what you do and don't want on your Banh Mi sandwiches. You can also order at the counter if doing so is your preference.During four lunch time dine-in visits, I have tried the following:COLD CUT COMBINATION BANH MI SANDWICH: Red Pork Ham, Pork Roll Ham, Pate, Housemade Mayo Butter, and Sauce.I ordered it at the counter extra spicy and told them to leave out the Mayo, as this is one condiment that has never agreed with me. The counter person was nice enough to ask if they should leave out the Pate as well, since it also contains eggs. I told him that I am okay with eggs in Pate, but not the Mayo. The crust was light and flaky, but a bit too dry and crumbly for my tastes. The Pate spread did not deliver quite the depth of flavor I like, and the filling was not as spicy as I like. Otherwise, the meats and fillings were tasty and filling. My Rating: 3.5 Stars.GRILLED CHICKEN BANH MI: Marinated Grilled Chicken, Housemade Butter, and Sauce. I asked the counter person if the sauce contained Mayo and was told it did not. I also told him to add some Pate and prepare it extra spicy.I had better luck with this one. The crust was light and crispy and not as dry as before. The grilled marinated chicken and other fillings delivered a nice combination of flavors. This one was also a little spicier than before. The Pate spread still did not deliver quite the depth of flavor I like. My Rating: 4 Stars.LAVENDER MILK BOBA TEA: The taste of this boba drink was a bit lackluster. The boba pearls kept getting stuck inside the straw, and I had to get a spoon to eat the rest. My Rating: 3 Stars.PHO DAC BIET SPECIAL COMBO: Pho Beef Noodle Soup with Round Steak, Flank Steak, Brisket, Beef Meatballs, and Beef Tendons, garnished with Chopped Scallions, Onions, and Cilantro. They just started serving Pho earlier this year. My Pho was served to me in a plastic bowl and with a plastic spoon. Their condiments were served stuffed inside a cylinder shaped cardboard container. I've been eating Pho as a dine-in customer for about 25 years, and this is the first time I have ever had it served to me in this manner. I feel strongly that Pho is one dish that deserves to be served in a traditional ceramic bowl and with an Asian soup spoon.About half of the meat slices were fat and gristly to the point of being inedible. I had to dump them in the cardboard container. The actual taste of the broth was only passable. My Rating: 2 Stars. For some better news, I also tried the following:GRILLED CHICKEN WITH RICE: Grilled Chicken with Cabbage, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Cilantro, and Peppers over Rice. Ordered with a Spicy Fish Sauce Blend. This is one of their new rice dishes. The grilled chicken was abundant and marinated beautifully. The flavors of the other ingredients came through nicely, and I loved the kick of their Spicy Fish Sauce. I had enough left over for two more meals. My Rating: 5 Stars.KIM'S KIMCHI: Lotus Root, Mustard Greens, Cabbage Carrot, Cucumber, Pineapple, Sugar, and Vinegar. This was ordered from their Grab & Go Case.I recently added Kimchi to my diet, and their version might be the best one I have tasted yet. The combination of flavors works wonderfully, and I especially love the Lotus Roots. I am already on my 2nd jar. My Rating: 5 Stars,Based upon my four visits to date, my composite food rating came out to 3.75 stars, which enabled me to round up to a soft 4-star rating. I may stop in again sometime when I am in the area and especially when I am craving their Kimchi.

Low end sushi restaurant. Miso soup had very little taste. A lot of sushi but little taste. We thought the menu was confusing. Also, floor was very slippery. Seemed it was mopped with a greasy mop.

My neighbor and I were talking about good Thai food last night. So, as I drove, I made a quick right and headed straight to the restaurant. Since no cars were in front, it took about 3 minutes for me to figure out it was open. I ordered from the kiosk and the person behind the counter said it would take 5-10 minutes. Sure enough, I got a text saying that my order was ready in about 8 minutes. I picked it up and headed home.Chicken with green curry sauce comes with jasmine rice, fries chicken and vegetables. Packaged nice and neat. First task was spicy, sweet, and flavorful. Tender chicken, perfect rice and vegetables to balance the dish. I'll go back for sure.

"This gem is tucked away in the corner of a small shopping center- you'll see the Starbucks in the opposite end before you see Pho Diner. My first impression walking in was how clean and how friendly the staff were to when greeting us. I tried the P2 soup combination - delicious and highly recommend. The other person in my party had a rice dish with the most tender chicken... very well seasoned. We had spring rolls as an appetizer which I would've preferred had there been four vice two in the plate. The sauce and peanuts were delicious on the rolls and left me wanting another. I didn't get a chance to try the sushi or milk tea offerings while there but look forward to returning soon to try those as well. My initial visit was great, the waiter was very attentive and kept waters full and plates taken when done. There is an outdoor seating area as well that is probably nice to sit in when the weather allows. Check this one out if you find yourself nearby."
"There is a Thai Buddhist temple in Carrollton. And apparently, the monks come and eat here. So I knew I had to give this place a try! I came here for lunch one day. It's hidden in the corner of the shopping center over by home emporium. It's not the biggest restaurant you'll go into. But the food is hands down amazing! The lunch special really rocked! A little bit of pad Thai along with my curry. Couldn't beat that price for $11.95. on top of that, you get a huge well, I paid for it but worth it, huge Thai tea! Lunch was less than $20 and I ate it all. No room for leftovers Speaking of that, looks like there's plenty to go! If you're in the area, don't skip this place! It's really good"
"I go to the nail salon next door and wanted to try this. We decided to go here on a date night and the place was pretty empty. They did have a lot of to go orders coming in and out. We were seated quickly and ordered. The food came out so quick and was hot/fresh. The staff was so friendly and answered any questions we had. The food was flavorful and delicious. We had leftovers to take home too. We had two adult beverages too and they were strong! So we liked them a lot. Def would return back here."
"If you're looking for a good Thai restaurant in Williamsburg with excellent food, white table cloths, and a relaxed atmosphere, Aticha is the place to go. Aticha has a good size and well curated menu that offers traditional dishes with many choices as well as some specialty entrees. You can request spice to the level of your liking. Portions are of a good size, and many of guests took home some of their good. We enjoyed ours so much and weren't rushed to leave, so we finished every bite!During this visit, we enjoyed the steamed dumplings appetizer, which comes with four delicate and flavorful dumplings and their house soy with garlic sauce. We also enjoyed the fried rice with chicken. We added extra vegetables for $3 because we love vegetables. We also had the Red Curry with Pork and the Chicken Garlic Carrots and Broccoli dishes. All were excellent. For beverages, we each enjoyed a glass of wine. The Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc was especially refreshing. We finished dinner with the Mango and Rice dessert, which we did get to go. It was beautifully prepared and very tasty!Prices were higher than less formal Thai restaurants, and we felt the meal and dining experience were worth the extra cost. The servers are friendly and kind. They want to ensure you have a good experience, and they delivered!"
"i noodle seems to have done it right. Designed with the touch and feel of a Beijing huton (alley) street food hole in the wall kitchen with cherry blossoms, black brick and wood tables, they specializes in Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) noodle soup and Korean style chicken wings, among other things. There is some fusion here with other cultures, but that only improves the menu, rather than detract from it. We ordered the XLB, Honey Shrimp, Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, Soy Garlic Wings and Noodles in Soy Sauce. It arrived as prepared in the kitchen in no particular priority. Service was efficient and concerned with our satisfaction. Each dish was good to great. The XLB came in bamboo steamers. The skin was elastic enough not to tear when lifted carefully with tongs. Once their top knot was bitten off and vinegar dropped into the opening, it was ready for sucking out the hot pork broth before pushing the remaining dumpling into the mouth for chew and swallow. Excellent rendition. They even provided fresh ginger shavings when asked. The Korean double fried wings were crispy with sticky sweet sauce that required extra napkins to keep the amber glue from hardening on our fingers. Double happiness. Same for the Honey Shrimp. Crunchy large prawns, deep fried, perhaps with a touch of coconut in the battered crustaceans. The Beef Soup was a large bowl with lots of tender beef, veggie and enough chili paste to turn the liquid a nice shade of red. Son loved it. The Soy Noodles were long and al dente. A little difficult to lift from the bowl with chop sticks, but worth the effort in taste and texture. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, made better by the sincerity of the servers who brought the food and stopped by to check on our satisfaction. Definitely a fun and worthwhile experience for us, and even a surprise given that we were in Newport News! Kudos to everyone responsible for putting this together. This concept has legs."
"Great menu and Delicious food!! Come sit down and have some pho. Definitely will be back!!"
"Delicious Ramen tucked away in a shopping center. Finding this place is worth the food! There are so many menu options and plenty of parking for large groups. Service was amazing and friendly. Will definitely visit again."
"Pho is one of my favorite comfort foods and Pho 79 is always my "go-to" because of their exceptional service and amazing pho. I normally order the Pho Tai which is the noodle soup with rare round steak but I wanted to try something a little different so I ordered the Pho Tai Nam Gua which consists of the noodle soup with rare round steak, brisket and flank! I also ordered the Golden Fried Wontons as well. The wontons came out less than 10 mins after I ordered and were crispy and delicious as always! The server brought the pho out soon after and I always add the garnish of jalapeños, basil, bean sprouts and lime to my pho along with sriracha and a little hoisin sauce because it adds so much extra flavor. The steak, brisket and flank were super tender and the made the pho even more filling and appetizing. I literally ate the whole bowl lol. The service is always wonderful and the food is great. I even ordered a "to-go" order of Golden Fried Wontons because they are just that good. Definitely one of my favorite Pho restaurants in the area."
"My first time ordering from Teriyaki Madness. I love the convenience of ordering to-go, and this place makes it so easy! I ordered online and could even let them know when I was on my way, so everything was ready right when I arrived--no waiting around. I went with the teriyaki chicken and fried rice a la carte, which turned out to be the perfect choices. The chicken was tender with just the right amount of sauce, and the fried rice was flavorful and fresh. Every bite was super tasty, and it made for a great meal at home. I'll definitely be coming back for more!"
"This is a cute, clean place with great service and good food. It's Asian, but with a twist. It's not like anything else I have ever tasted. The soups are really flavorful, smell wonderful, and come beautifully presented. We also had the cucumber salad. The chunks were fat and kinda hard to spear with a fork and handle with chopsticks, but once I got it in my mouth- yum! Loved everything about this place and would go again. I didn't leave stuffed. The portions are just right."
"-Pad See Eaw. Thai rice noodles, egg and shrimp & broccoli in Thai soy sauce. Very tasty- I choose Med spice, wow , hot @ tasty. Mango & sticky rice w coconut sauce is AMAZING!"
"A little hole in the wall on Old Towne Road. The owner and chef is so kind and personable! The menu contains classic "sammich's" and subs which come with a bag of chips. They also offer chili - more of a soupy consistency, but doesn't lack the flavor. The chicken noodle soup was a bit salty for our taste, but we liked the bold thick noodles and chunky chicken in this hearty soup. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich on toasted bread - you can add any toppings/condiments you like. It's nice to finally have a standard sandwich a lot in Williamsburg and locally owned which is not a chain. The owner was super kind and open to suggestions and comments. We look forward to seeing this spot grow!"
"Tonight we really didn't feel like cooking. So I told my husband and the kiddos to put their shoes on because it was a noodles and co night. Tonight I had the spaghetti and meatballs, my husband had the spicy Korean beef and noodles and the girls and many options and things for their kids meals. Everything was delicious and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The manager, Junior, was very kind and checked on us frequently and made sure everything was to our satisfaction."
"I read this is a really delicious ramen place up in Hampton / Newport News. It's in a big shopping center by a Wawa. Easy to find! Close to 664 and 64. It's got an okay amount of seating. You could probably get one large party in there but you'll be taking up most of the place. You pay by credit card.I ordered the miso ramen! Really good. I like the broth. Tons of corn which I really enjoyed. The charchu was cut thick. A little bit of a Chinese flavor more than a Japanese flavor but who am I to complain? It was a nice big bowl of ramen. I was pretty happy with it. What I really enjoyed is at the table, they have garlic and chili oil. So no complaints there! Food came out fast and it was pretty good! I don't remember seeing the kids menu but I do remember seeing appetizers and some other Japanese selectables. They have beer! Didn't get to enjoy because technically, I was still on the clock! Definitely worth stopping in."
