"My husband and I have been coming to this friendly place since we were teenagers. The atmosphere is beautiful, makes you feel like you're dining in Italy. The food is out of this world with huge portions. It tastes so authentic & worth every penny. My husband & I usually split the tortellini & add shrimp & chicken to it."
"I recently stopped by Pizzeria Bella Vista by Signorelli located near Chesapeake Regional Hospital just off Battlefield Boulevard in the heart of Chesapeake. If you've never been here, you're in for a real treat.Michael, the owner, learned how to make pizza in the Old Country (Napoli) Naples Italy. In fact, his wood fired pizza oven was imported from there, and that is only part of the secret to this wonderful eatery. This is a fantastic place for people who enjoy authentic Neapolitan Pizza made by people who know their craft. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"This place is great! Cheri is one awesome lady and one heck of a bartender! Sunday specials and some football are unbeatable! Come check it out and shoot the sh$@ with the locals! The OG side of the bar is worth checking out too! Cool spot!"
"I called last minute around lunch time on Black Friday and the host was able to seat my family party of 11 in a semi-private area at one table. Our party consisted of little kids, teens, adults, and grandparents and everyone was able to order something they liked. The food was hot and fresh and seemed to be mostly homemade. Service was great, especially considering we had a large mixed party. Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely go again!"
"Service 5Food 5Drinks 5 (cocktails)Ambiance 5Appearance 4Price 2 (expensive)Value 5 (price/value)Overall 5We visited on a Tuesday night... no reservation meant 30 minutes wait so we sat at the bar. I am actually getting to like sitting at the bar more and more. Bartender was Jimmy and he was just great! Great conversation from the beginning, no small talk but actually engaging conversation without overstaying. He would go down the bar and had great conversation with everyone. #impressedFor drink I had the night special: Italian crush and it was good. Would definitely have it again. Ambiance was nice, quiet, peaceful nice place t come have dinner, enjoy the company and have some conversation. For main meal I had the Linguine Pesto Genovese with a side of chicken. I am a pesto lover and this was delicious. Portions are HUGE but nothing I can't handle. No dessert this time, there was nothing that spoke to me (not that I was full from my main meal) but they have a good selection and I would expect it to be just as good, if not better, than the food. Dessert is always better. Totally recommend to everyone and definitely will be coming back again. Expensive... but it was worth it overall."
"Meat Stromboli was awesome! Not overcooked or greasy. Soft crust, great sauce, fresh ingredients- it is my go to guilty pleasure and the price is perfect!"
"Delicious pizza! I had kind of a long wait for a phone order, but they were backed up from a large order. Garlic knots were very good as well!"
"Fab lunch experience. Quick and fair priced with veggie options. Best of all...thin crust fire oven style pizza was delicious. Double fried tater tots clogged my arteries, TOTally worth it though. Staff were friendly and attentive. Shared parking lot."
"I recently had to go gluten free and this was my first dinner out at a restaurant. It was perfect. They have so many offerings for gluten free and everything was delicious! We came on a Wednesday evening at 6:30 and it was very busy! We did have to wait a bit, but their quote time was right on the money. We were seated and greeted quickly and even though our server was obviously a bit overwhelmed, we were provided with good service.I got the Shrimp and Scallop alfredo with gluten free spaghetti and added broccoli. It was fantastic. The portobello mushroom app was also delicious!Prices are super fair!"
"Verrry elegant place definitely a date night smasher menu very short but everything that came out that kitchen 5/5 they water even tasted amazing lol calamari cooked with the chilis top tier and that lasagna!!!! You might smack ya grandma if she touch it if u been trynna impress ya mate this is definitely the spot will b doubling back on my 757 tour"
"Whew. I'm not sure what all the rave is about. But all their greatness must have been hiding in a really good spot because I sought and definitely couldn't find it. The place itself is really shabby, small & hot inside. The slices of pizza are definitely mammoth size. The taste unremarkable. Canned & bottled drinks are available for purchase in the fridge. Honestly, everything was looking like it's been through some hard times. While I'm thankful they had a restroom, it was questionable. If you have ever been to hardcore/punk shows you know they aren't held in the best shape venues, (like King's Head back in the day) their restroom was almost at that level. The redeeming factor was the presence of paper towels, soap & running water. It was so hot & stifling inside that we sat at the high table outside where it was more comfortable. That too could use some TLC. The pizza itself is not that great, it wasn't memorable. The young lady working was pleasant. I'm not even sure how she tolerated working in that heat."
"Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so with that being said let's go!!..Brooklyn NY is my birth place and if you know anything about NYC then you know it's the pizza Mecca!.. This place comes the closest to NY pizza that I have tasted."

2nd time back. Very authentic pizza and brought me back to Napoli! It's about as close to being there as you're going to get. Sauce was delicious and definitely made from Italian tomatoes. The wine pairing was delicious as well. Service was extremely quick.

This restaurant has won a bunch of awards!!Very colourfully decorated interior, nice ambiance, good service. We had Broiled Combination Platter with fillet of flounder, scallops, shrimps, oysters and crab cake. Taste, quality of preparation, presentation and quantity was around average. The restaurant also has a souvenir/gift shop with it with moderately good collections.

I love this restaurant. It's always very welcoming and the food is delicious. Some people would describe it as a hole in the wall. I wouldn't. I think it's a lovely little restaurant and they have a great ambience in addition to delicious Italian Cuisine.Do NOT miss the garlic knots !

This was my second time to Mannino's, and it did not disappoint! They had a great happy hour, so I got a glass of wine. The fried oysters were yummy and crunchy, my favorite sauce was the orange zesty sauce. It comes with a choice of sides, which we got a red sauce spaghetti and steamed vegetables. It was all so so good. The SOUP!!! This is one of the best crab soups that I have had. There were LUMPS of crab in the creamy goodness. Really good flavor. Do make a reservation!!! Their tables fill up fast with reservations! If it's only you or one other person, you can go without a reservation and wing it. We have sat at their full service bar twice now. The service was great, the bartender was nice and made nice conversation. The ambiance is nice and classy, a great place to celebrate a birthday or go on a date.

Took a beach trip over the weekend and the family wanted pizza. We got the 18" Meat Lovers pizza and an order of mild wings. It was delicious, even my mom who's not a fan of pizza loved it! Service was great, our waitress was friendly. The place is a bit small, so there's not a lot of seating, fortunately for us when we went there weren't many people there yet.

We stopped in after the ODU football game and the place was slammed - carryout crazy and luckily we were able to snag a table that had just gotten up!Osh was our server and she was AMAZING! I believe it was her and 1 other server in the dining room area and they were handling the mob of customers like each table was the only table in there. Osh was soooooo friendly, pleasant and attentive and I'm not sure how she managed to give that service to every one of her tables with how busy it was...but she did!To top it off our pizza and bacon/cheese fries were SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS!I hope we make it back to Norfolk for many more visits because this will certainly be a place we would stop in each trip!

The place was really good. I come to this little shopping center often because there are a lot of great places in here and it's primarily for the local crowd in Virginia Beach. I showed up with a friend for lunch and we both got the 2 slice lunch special. They had some various other lunch specials as well, but I was pretty set on those pizzas. You can put one topping on each of the pizzas if you want or you can just get cheese. The pizza is thin crust and was definitely pretty good. It reminded me of a very similar style to NYC pizza and I prefer that style myself. We also got the garlic knots and they were delicious. It's like they put a whole loaf in the oven and just infused it with garlic flavor! The portions for that were large! Maybe include a little more marinara sauce for the next time.

"I decided to stop here after shopping at the outlets and took a look at the menu beforehand. I was happy to see they served stromboli. I ordered the meat lovers stromboli and some drinks. I didn't want too much due to it being lunchtime. This stromboli was surprising big and full of meat, cheese, and sauce. You don't need any extra sauce but they will give you a side of sauce if you ask. The cheese and sauce were delicious. I wish this place was in Richmond so I could visit more often. Service was great. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. The restaurant was super cute with unique decor such as the wine racks on the walls above the lamps."
"The Amber Lantern is a cozy restaurant on the water in the Chesapeake area. It was the perfect spot to celebrate with friends and family for a special occasion. While it's definitely in the most unassuming spot: off the highway and by what appears is a lot of construction. Once you get there, you'll find a peaceful, refined restaurant that's nice but not overly pretentious or fussy. The menu is a mix of seafood, American, and pasta dishes. So there's a good mix for pretty much everyone! Don't sleep on the warm bread. It's excellent. They also have delicious drinks and cocktails if you're looking for a fun libation. I really enjoyed my pasta. It was rich and tasty. The serving size was generous, so I definitely didn't leave hungry. The service was so friendly and accommodating. While this place is not an everyday staple. It's definitely a nice once in a while treat if you're looking for something nicer."
"Gino's is an institution in the Red Mill area. Everyone who lives around there knows about it and knows the owner is a local. It's much larger inside than you'd think - a bar area and two large seating areas as well as a small patio off to the side of the entrance doors. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Their sandwiches are super solid. I love their Italian hoagies and subs and I've been here a few times for lunch specifically for a sandwich. My husband got the gyro and it was huge. You can choose any sub warm or cold and can add lettuce and tomato if you'd like which I always do.They're huge and easy enough to share or take half home to enjoy later. Pizza is very good and some of the best in the area and they have a huge menu with all the pasta dishes your heart could desire! They also serve cheesecake and cannolis inside."
"went for their Thanksgiving meal. it was great! Delicious food and great service. our waiter consistently checked in on us and always did so with a smile. chill vibe and it was quiet when we went - 12 pm. bathrooms were clean too which I appreciated. thank you bar solita for serving us on this holiday."
"We stopped in for a slice of pizza while exploring downtown. The staff here were friendly and there was a good amount of seating with a casual vibe. My bf ordered a slice of cheese and I ordered their Italian flag slice which was Bianca style with tomatoes and spinach. We also ordered a side of meatballs to share. I wasn't a big fan of the meatballs; they were on the dry side for my preference and I didn't care for the sauce. My bf enjoyed them. The pizza was really good! We tried each others and liked both slices. The cheese slice was one of the better plain cheese slices I've had! The flavor was good, it was a perfect amount of cheese, and the crust was on point. The Italian flag was yummy and I loved the spinach and juicy tomato bites. Prices were inexpensive as well! We debated getting one more slice even though we were full because we liked it so much haha. I am happy we tried this spot and would definitely return!"
"Philly is a far drive, but at least I can satisfy my cravings with a decent cheesesteak from a local restaurant. I like the online ordering process, but you can also call in your order if you're trying to grab a quick bite. There are always plenty of seats available if you need to dine in. Service is always great (both in-store and over the phone). They really do their best to keep your cheesesteak piping hot upon pick-up. Get the cheese fries. It reheats to perfection in the air fryer even if you have leftovers. These bad boys stay crunchy for a while though as I used to live 20 mins away and still able to enjoy a crisp when I bite into them upon arrival to my [home] destination. Also, get the biggy 16" size. I microwave the 3/4 I couldn't eat for 20-30 sec, then bake in a conventional toaster oven for 8-10 mins at 350F or 300F. You can add whatever topping, however much you want. I personally pay extra for mushrooms because I'm a fun[guy](?). I love this place. Location, service, ease of parking, quality of food, and consistency."
"I manage to dine here every time I'm in town. One of our vendors recommended this restaurant and it's become a regular option when I travel here for work. The oysters Rockefeller are a must when dining here. You can even watch as they're made in the wood fired oven at the front. Their cocktails are tasty and the pasta dishes never disappoint. The chicken piccata is a favorite as is the eggplant parmigiana."
"The food here is fabulous and authentic Italian! I had the spaghetti and meatballs with fresh bread dipped in olive oil and it was amazing! Our server was a very nice lady with an Italian accent. The decor is really cool with photos of Sophia Loren and The GodFather movies hanging on the walls. It is a hidden gem in Gloucester Point. If you're in the area definitely check this restaurant out! It looks like a pizza shop on the outside, but there's definitely so much more of a food experience on the inside."
"Azzurri's is simply the best. It's our go-to pizza place and everything on the menu is delicious. They constantly put up with my rambunctious children, the food is always fantastic, service is always super fast and friendly. I honestly can't say enough good things about this restaurant. They made several internal renovations during the Covid shutdown, and have a lovely outdoor patio seating area as well. And unlike many restaurants around here, prices haven't skyrocketed beyond belief. Tonight we got our regular cheese pizza, garlic knots, and pasta orders - kids ate everything and have been over the moon.A++++++ update for my first review of 2023!"
"Went here as a work gathering; the workers were happy to accomadate such a large size party. They made sure we all had seats and tables together. The restaraunt interior was very unique. Its theme was "home" on the back of the menu had the story of how the owner wanted to give customers a home feel with a home cooked meal to make them feel like they were just at home. It had house lamps, cool jazzy pictures hang up all around, nice dimmed down lights. I love Italian food! I ordered the Rigatoni Pasta which I was not disappointed with (I added my own paramasan cheese all over for an extra kick) It had a light creamy sauces over the noodles, thick slices of italian sausages, and zuchinii! All really goodMy entree came with a side salad as well"
"Had to stray from our usual pizza option due to hours being different in the off season, but it brought us to Cosmo's which ended up being a nice surprise! We ordered two large pizzas and wings for carry out. The food was ready within 15 minutes, hot and fresh. Pizza was yummy with a really great sourdough chewy crust, toppings were fresh and flavorful, wings were large and tasty as well. Overall, this was a win and a nice discovery after coming to the area for 30+ years. We will be back!"
"This is the BEST ITALIAN food I've ever had. We are staying at the VB KOA and went here for dinner last night. We will be going back for lunch today. Everything is fresh and home made. I had the chicken Marsala, my husband had stuffed shells. AMAZING!!!Stephanie was a wonderful server!"
"Always a reliably good family meal. A lot of their pasta dishes are way too creamy and heavy for me, although delicious, so I usually go with entrees like chicken Marsala or piccata. Their berry cream cake dessert, and the giant frozen lemon full of lemon ice are both longtime favorites of our family! The servers are always polite, they have a decent wine selection, and the house salad dressing is soooooo good!! Wish they would do real sliced bread or garlic bread instead of garlic knots."
"We eat here quite a bit. Usually just the two of us but when we bring the family, we order several dishes and eat family style! We found that the food seemed better at this location compared to our visits to their older location. Some people seem to complain that the noise level is loud but it doesn't bother us. The service can be slow at times but I have to say the FOOD IS WORTH THE WAIT. I am originally from Chicago so I have to say are THE authentic Italian food in the area. Our absolute favorite dish that we always order is the Shrimp Ala Vodka!! The shrimp is cooked perfect and tender and the sauce and pasta is superb. We also like the veal chop parmigiana, fried ravioli, and fried mozzarella. Their caprese salad is huge enough to share. You can never go wrong with their spaghetti and meatballs. Their red gravy is so good! They will have a different kind of cheesecake each time we visit and of course our favorite cannoli. You will get bread with butter but we love dipping it in olive oil and Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. They have a large wine list and delicious cocktail menu. Also, they are just as generous with their takeout dishes as they are if you dine in! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Make reservations!"
"Great food and a casual atmosphere. Love the Pizza, Greek salad and New Yorker deli sandwich"
"My new favorite spot!! Not only is it a market....it's a restaurant too! The meals are absolutely delicious and taste so fresh. Big plus that the prices are reasonable! When I walked in, I felt like I was immediately transported to Italy. The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed, and lovely. And the staff is very friendly.Don't skip the salads! They are mouthwatering. Everything that was ordered during my 2 visits: caprese salad, four cheese ravioli, gnocchi with pesto, chocolate profiteroles, pistachio cake, and 2 specials which i forgot the name. Don't miss out on the specials. They are so good!!It's a small space so best for small groups of around 4. Excited to bring more of my family and friends here!"
"Baba's Pizzeria is located in the shopping center across the street from Target in Edinburgh. We've dined in and ordered take out, both on busy Friday nights.- Parking - Center lot.- TLC -It's a family run business and the service was friendly and courteous.- Noms - NY Style Combo Pizza (4 toppings) - pepp, sausage, green peppers, jalapenosMeat amore pizza - pepp, sausage, bacon hamThe pizzas have a good amount of toppings and I really liked the crust. Eggplant Parmigiana - comes with garden salad (iceberg, romaine, shredded carrots, red onion, green pepper, raw mushrooms, shredded mozz cheese, olives) with choice of dressing (we chose balsamic) and garlic bread. The eggplant parm is two pieces of breaded eggplant topped with marinara and cheese. Spaghetti comes on the side. The sauce was tasty and tasted homemade. It was quite delicious and a generous serving.- Kids - I know I've mentioned this before in previous reviews, but I really dislike how restaurants give crappy options for kids, like kids menus are an afterthought. However, kids menus at Italian restaurants often reflect the same offerings for adults, because who doesn't love pastas, so it's a win here. My kids have had their pizzas, alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, all winners both according to my kids and us! Baba's Pizzeria is a great option for before/after shopping or the movies or simply a takeout meal on a busy night!Enjoy, Friends, and never stop exploring!"
"I'm visiting family from NYC, and they took me out to Chesapeake Pizza. If you have a nostalgia for the 80s Pizza Huts, this is the closest thing around, but there are no juke boxes or Arcade games. Pizza is fresh and delicious. Also, we arrived on a Friday night and the place was packed. The waiting list moved fairly well and the staff who work here are very friendly, helpful and professional. The only reason I'm not 5 starting them is because they only take cash."
"We came in at 5 on Valentines weekend. They asked if we had a reservation but we didn't. They asked if we would be done within two hours and they would seat us, and of course we would be. We were attended to right away and our Caesar salads were very good. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean and quiet. My lasagna was very good but needed a little more sauce. My wife's shrimp fettuccine Alfredo was very good. Service was okay but you could tell the server, Ella, has been there too long. You know how you can tell someone is forcing themselves to be polite but comes off rude? But the food was great. Would eat here again. When we asked for a box, we did notice that the older people got a nice to go box and my wife's was put in some crappy styrofoam container. Same server. I think she had a touch of an attitude problem. You can just tell."
"Well, this place is interesting, so good luck. It has a late kitchen, so that is helpful when you are driving to the beach late, but this place really just caters to the college crowd with cheap drinks and decent pizza. Service was borderline at best and they got my order wrong the first time because I'm certain the waiter was not really listening. Most of the family got burgers which were below par across the board, as was the calamari appetizer. Should have known better, this is a pizza place, it is what they do. Anything else would be a risk ...However, once they got my pizza correct (gluten free crust and no cheese ... I know... why I rarely get pizza) it was actually very good! Was pleasantly surprised. So in conclusion, your service will be borderline at best, and most of the food is below par, but if you are hungry on I-64 at night, come get a pizza and maybe a cheap beer and it likely will be pretty good!"
"Came to town planning to hit our usual seafood buffet but arrived a little late and decided to leave that for tomorrow. So we headed out about 8pm and ended up at Max's. My sister ordered veal parmigiana while I opted for the chicken parmigiana. Both were fantastic and heaping helpings. I could say the chicken was just a tad overcooked but it would be nitpicking because it truly was just a tad. Not even enough to cost them a star. If this were a ten point scale I would give them a 9.7 or 9.8. Our waitress was attentive and quick on the soda refills. Coming in so late we only had a few other customers so it was a nice quiet dinner, though I suspect at busier times it could be very active. Considering we were on the Outer Banks, the prices were pretty good, especially taking into account the huge portion sizes!"
"It's been several years since I wrote a review, but we have never stopped going here. There is NOTHING I love more than a locally owned place that makes everything fresh. And Regino's never disappoints. We supported them all through the pandemic shut down ordering takeout (which we had never done before from this restaurant), and they were on point the entire time. No loss of quality or service. That was highly appreciated! Since things have opened up we've eaten in several times to our delight, but tonight decided to order takeout again (didn't feel like going out). Once again Regino's delivered the awesomeness. We started with a tomato and mozzarella salad. They make their own Moz - need I say more? As always, full of flavor. It does come on a bed of romaine with black olives and peppers, none of which is needed. I did throw a little more balsamic on it at home, but nevertheless wonderful.I got the lasagna - OH my! Fresh made pasta, homemade sauce, sausage (that I am pretty positive they make in house) and that lovely tomato sauce. It was such a big portion (like all of their entrees are), that I am having the rest for lunch tomorrow.Hubby was in the mood for pizza, so we got a medium with extra cheese. As always yummy. This is not a textbook NY style, but that's ok. The crust is always amazing, cooked to perfection and the sauce is SO good!If you are in the area - GO here! You will not be disappointed with the food or the portions (come hungry). Support local."
"I would give IOC 3.5 stars... this place holds a special place in my heart because I worked at that Holiday Inn throughout college and used to eat the employee meals there which I enjoyed. I've even helped out in the restaurant.I made a reservation for myself and my 2 teens, no special occasion, we choose a high end place to eat each month and I've always wanted to eat there as a customer. We were given an oceanfront view which the views were amazing. Now here comes the questionable part... our waitress was nice but I feel as though we weren't getting treated like everyone else. I noticed she asked other customers if they've been before, what was the occasion even told them what was the catch and soup of the day. The chef came out to greet the customers, everyone just walked by our table. I definitely would have ordered the she crab soup if I'd known that was the soup. We just got the menu and she came back and asked what we liked. I had to ask for the dessert menu.I started out with a pear martini, didn't care for it.I ordered the infamous Caesar salad which is one of the best Caesar salads I've had. The scallops and grits were pretty filling. My son just had a pepperoni pizza which he enjoyed, my daughter had chicken Alfredo, it was ok, then they split a tiramisu, which was good.Even though the views were nice, I'm not quite sure if I will be returning."
