"My stepson's birthday was coming up, and when he said he wanted Indian, I knew Masala Bites would be the perfect spot! It's fancy inside and they always give great service! I think the portion is worth the price. They have the best Indian food around in my opinion. 10/10 They have a lot of wine to choose from"
"My first time having INDIAN FOOD and what an introduction it was. The restaurant decor was very modern. An the ambiance wS amazing! We weren't sitting on top of another couple. Beautiful intimate setting. The food was sooooo good! EXCELLENT! I can't wait to go back!!"

"Amazing authentic home made Indian food. I highly recommend the food. We told the owner to pick out some dishes for us. He made us a appetizer that wasn't even on the menu. It was like a party in my mouth."
"So... gonna go out on a limb and say, best garlic naan in the city. And believe me, I've tried. I love, absolutely love the curry dishes. The tandoori is a hit and goat is always tinder. Not sure if the lady that works there is the manager or owner, but she is an absolute treat and makes every customer service experience great. I love this place and the price, though a bit steep is well worth it.As a dine in option, you definitely feel like you're some place that puts effort into the ambience and dining experience! The only complaint is I'd probably want more naan in a single order, but that's not really a complaint is it?"
"I absolutely love Indian cuisine so when the opportunity arose to try Saffron Indian Bistro, I gladly accepted. Even though this location is in the heart of Town Center, there are multiple parking garages in the area that allow for easy parking.Once we arrived, we were seated right away since it was pretty empty on a Tuesday evening. Our server, Isha, quickly greeted us and was super personable. We started with the Vegetable Samosas which were delicious especially with the dipping sauces, then we ordered the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan. I always choose the spice level at around a 2 because it gives the dish just enough kick without being overly spicy! The food was served fairly quickly and everything tasted great. The chicken was very tender, the spice level was perfect and both dishes were very flavorful. Isha stopped by fairly often to make sure we were enjoying our meals and even shared a few laughs with us. Once we finished, she encouraged us to try some dessert so we chose the Mango Kulfi. It tasted like a rich flavored sherbet, it was very good and I'm glad we tried something new.Overall, I would return in a heartbeat. The food was delicious and the staff were super friendly. I've passed by this restaurant for years and finally decided to stop in so if you're looking for a great, authentic Indian food, I encourage you to try them as well."
"I love love love this place and I am so happy I was able to visit again and can't wait to visit more regularly. The food is always delicious, curly is creamy and seasoned to perfection. The service is always friendly and just ready to fill any need you may have. I saw "salted lassi" on the menu and I had never had it, I usually always get mango lassi. The server/owner spoke highly of it and he did mentioned it was an acquire taste so I knew it could have or not have been good... it wasn't. Definitely salted !! It may go well with certain dishes maybe? It was also mentioned it is a popular drink for summertime to help keep you hydrated. Maybe I will give another chance but, I doubt it. Mango lassi for the win. I enjoy the setting of the restaurant, it is not overly done but elegant and clean. This place is always great for lunch or dinner. Definitely recommend to everyone to check it out."
"If I had to pick a last meal, Saffron might just be it!I love a great Indian restaurant, if you're vegetarian you'll always have great options. Vegans, be on the lookout, because many dishes are served with cream, butter and other animal products even in dishes with no animal protein. Most days I eat vegan, but I have my days where I have dairy, so I'm flexible on that front and have no qualms with vegetarian meals. With that said, they do have some vegan options, just check the menu and ask your friendly server. My sister and I had a Thursday night out and started here. We started with Gobi Manchurian, which is their cauliflower - this dish was so amazing, it's worth the flight into town just by itself. I've had many versions and forms of cauliflower wings, cauli bites, crispy cauliflouretts, you name the version and I've had it from somewhere. Don't let the menu description fool you, I assumed we were getting a roasted or baked cauliflower dish because the description doesn't describe how they're cooked, but these came out crispy and delicious AF. I keep saying this with every new experience, but these cauliflower were the best dang version of a crispy cauliflower that I've had in my life. If you're my friend and want to give me a gift that I will cherish, these cauliflower are what I want for my birthday, my Thanksgiving, my child's kindergarten graduation, my "hey it's Tuesday and I was thinking about you", my last meal on earth - no matter the occasion, just give me all of these cauliflower! Just the right amount of spice, I'd say these are a level 1 out of 5 on the spicy spectrum and soo tasty!Veg Samosa Chaat was next on the list, a little sweet, a little minty, a little bite from the onion and spices, earthy and hearty potato and peas. This dish was well rounded and super delicious! Chana Masala as a main dish was so good, I do love a good garbanzo bean dish. The garlic naan, it's your standard garlic naan, but damn it was good paired up with all this amazing food. Eat the naan by itself, dip it in your masala, put some cauliflower on it and eat it like a taco, I'm drooling just thinking about this place and it's been a couple weeks since I dined there!Saffron, you will live in my dreams until the next visit; which hopefully, will be very soon."
"Pretty delicious Indian and Nepal food in Newport News. I got a bunch of momos in my appetizer! I got the chicken one. Really love that sauce!I went with the Okra because I haven't had okra in a while. I got it nice and mild. It was actually a pretty large portion to go along with the rice. I'll be honest, that was some of the best naan I've ever had! It was super buttery! I'm really complimented the Okra dish. I intentionally over ordered so I could take leftovers. It also comes with a free bottle of water. Really generous portions. They take credit card and you can pay at the table, which I like! Good place for kids."

I don't know much about this area, and a friend showed me Monsoon. I was pleased that it is Indian since I love Indian food. I got the lunch special of salad, saag and naan and washed it all down with a Prosecco. He got wings and samosas. Mine was delicious. Loved every bite and everything was well-portioned. Great service. Nice ambiance. Convenient corner restaurant in Peninsula Town Center of Hampton. I'd definitely come back.

Nawab - Oh my goodness, where to start. This restaurant has been a staple for my family for some time, one of the after-church lunch locations that we would frequent. They used to have the most wonderful buffet before the pandemic, but have not yet brought it back, fingers crossed that they do. The price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Ambiance is very...intimate? It is quiet, so you can enjoy a very lovely meal and have a nice chat without loud bolstering noise. It is romantic at dinner time, perfect for a date-night, which I would recommend. The service is exceptional, everyone is so kind and gracious, it really does feel like the owners are inviting you in to dine and enjoy a meal that they have prepared. Really cannot say enough about the wonderful service and food. So back to the food.Having missed this place, my husband and I ventured back. We placed an online order of the Vegan Family meal, with additional Roti and Chutneys (still stayed a while and chatted with the folks). The order was perfectly on time and ready for pickup when we arrived. The Vegan Family Meal consisted of the following (descriptions of the food is what was written on the menu and is not my interpretation):Subz Samosa - Vegetable Turnovers with a spicy potatoes and green pea fillingDal Tadka - slow cooked yellow lentils in a garlic and ginger sauceBaingan Bhartha - Mashed tandoor broiled eggplant with garlic and tomatoes,Goan Vegetable Curry - Vegetable with mustard seeds in a light coconut curry sauceAnd, of course, rice.We also ordered the Roti, which is a whole wheat unleavened bread, and some onion chutney and mango chutney. All of the food was delectable, my husband and I both absolutely love the Goan Vegetable Curry and the Subz Samosas. I am a huge fan of eggplant so I willingly allowed my husband to have more of the Curry while I partook of the Baingan Bhartha. The Dal Tadka was good but it seemed that the lentils were a little more done than we prefer, not a jest, we completely understand that lentils are a very quick cooking legume. The Onion Chutney is a must try, so delicious. The mango was a little sweet for me, but still nice to have on some of the remaining Roti to close out the meal. There was a lot of food so we most certainly had dinner for two days.I used to eat here before I turned to plant-based whole food and can attest to the fact that ALL of their food is highly recommended. I would really love the buffet to be brought back, wishful thinking? I can truly say that this place is easily a 5 out of 5. If you ever have a bad experience here, I am truly sorry and ask that you please give them a second chance.Thank you for reading my really long rant about this restaurant, I hope you try them in the near future.Cheers.

Fantastic authentic Indian! And the Naan Basket....mmmmmm. Companion and I preferred Butter Chicken (heat 1) and Madras Chicken (heat 2). Heat 2 was plenty spicy! Dishes served family style with plenty of rice - great for trying and sharing different things. And delicious flavors as always. Do yourself a favor and skip the chain joints in Town Center for the real deal here at Saffron!

Nawab has become one of my go-to spots for indian food. Really enjoy the choices, flavors, and the friendly/consistent service when we grab our pick up orders. The inside is spacious and great if you're looking to go with friends, family, and even have a larger party. some of my favorites include the butter chicken, palak paneer (theirs is one of my favorites), and garlic naan. if you're in the area, def worth the try!~

Ordered DoorDash lunch today (Saturday). I'm a huge fan of Indian food and often cook it at home. I ordered chana masala, paneer korma, and garlic naan. It was all pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. Almost lacking in key flavors that I would expect in those dishes. It would have been nice if there was some fresh cilantro included as well. The prices are a too high for non-meat dishes, but I'm not sure if that's because of the restaurant location. I would order from them again and try something else, but I'd definitely be including some special requests.

I still love coming here! I do miss the lunch buffet but luckily I have a favorite dish that I can always go to: butter chicken. I had mild, of course, and my husband had Aago biryani that was slightly spicy. Garlic naan is a must. Only thing I skipped this time was my other fave: mango lassi. 5 STARS! Service was decent and food was amazing!

"Our new favorite Indian takeout spot in the area. We ordered through Door Dash. It came hot, fresh and super flavorful. We ordered samosas, garlic naan, butter chicken, and goat saag. The only reasons I wouldn't give 5 stars is that the chicken was just a tad bit tough and dry, which is weird since it's coated in so much sauce. The goat also had quite a few small bones, which made it just a little less enjoyable since they were hard to find. Garlic naan and samosas were both incredible!"
"I was trying to find a place for lunch and all the localPlaces seemed too touristy and bland food. So i found this place on Yelp and I'm glad i found it. The food was so home made and fresh ! The saag was fantastic and the eggplant curry was super tasty. Spiced just right ! Service was very attentive ! I can't wait to be passing through town to visit here again for a meal!"
"I recently had lunch at Rasoi IV Authentic located in shops near Sam's Club, just off Battlefield Boulevard in the heart of Chesapeake. I'm so glad that the buffet is open again. They offer a great selection and it really gives you a great opportunity to try several different things without feeling guilty about the decision. If you love good Indian cuisine, check out Rasoi, you'll be happy that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community."
"Fantastic Indian restaurant. Service is excellent and friendly. The dining experience is crisp clean table clothes and cloth napkins. Beautiful inside and what a great vibe. Music is nice and not very loud. It feels Romantic. We tried 2 appetizers that were so great I could have eaten plates of them. First was Subz Samosa- It is a turnover with curry flavored potatoes and peas, but then you get a gorgeous cilantro spread and the other is some kind of lightly sweet dip. We used both. OH my GOODNESS it is so wonderful. Then we got Gobhi Manchurian- this is like a fried cauliflower with a delicious mild spicy red sauce. We ordered our main meal Chicken Tikka Masala (you pick your heat level) Level 3 is perfect for us. Wonderful flavors and great amount of sauce with tender chicken. The 2nd meal I choose my favorite Palak Paneer and it did not disappoint. We also got level 3 heat and that is perfect for us. Served with Indian basmati rice. Even the rice is seasoned to perfection. Last but not lease we got the assorted breads. They were all good but my favorite is the garlic Naan and the regular Naan.I love the variety of drinks they have. For lunch we got Mango Lassi. It is the best with spicy savory food. The sweetness of the Mango and the creamy consistency is like drinking dessert. YUMMMMY. Over all the food is AROMATIC and FULL OF FLAVOR. and if you're not sure about how hot you want it pick a low number. We like spicy so 3 was great for our taste."
"We were looking for a new lunch spot when passing through Williamsburg. Wonderful! Dale Malkhani and the mixed grill with nasal sauce were excellent. Naan was a great accompaniment. We love gajar halwa, and it was the perfect ending. We will certainly be back."
"The portions were very generous especially the biryani rice. We got spice level of 1 and our mouths were burning but it was so good! The saag curry was my favorite!! So much flavor! I cannot wait to go back and try other stuff on the menu. The prices were reasonable and we had enough for leftovers to take home."
"THIS IS THE BEST INDIAN SPOT!!! There's a lot of trial and error when trying new Indian food. Everything here is FRESH no bs. I've been to plenty of places who just serve anything and this place is not like that. We came here a while after I made my friend yellow curry and ever since then he's been obsessed with curry and Naan. I knew the best place for him!Everything was hot! The butter chicken was so creamy and flavorful, the meat wasn't over cooked just juicy and lightly seasoned. The rice and naan were soft and fluffy. The service was amazing! Very nice people and they also let you enjoy your food with fine service without suffocating you .The restaurant has a chill lil vibe I enjoy the music playing in the background, I actually downloaded a song that was playing Can't wait to visit again!!!"
"I saw the grand opening sign and had to stop. I called my order in and it was done in about 10 minutes. When I walked in the gentleman looked at me kinda weird before acknowledging me. I don't know what that was about, but ok. The other gentleman was a bit nicer, I'm assuming he's the owner. He answered my question about the menu and I was on my way. I ordered the samosa chaat with extra yogurt and mint chutney. The portion was decent for $8.50 plus tax. I usually get my samosa chaat from Tamarind and they use a tomato based sauce. But theirs was a little different. It was a tan colored sauce and didn't taste like tomato. I personally wasn't a fan of the flavors for some reason. It was some mystery seasoning that overpowered the dish and left an aftertaste. I can't recommend this dish, but I will give them another chance and try something else. I'm sure they have other tasty options. There's plenty to choose from on the menu and the prices seemed reasonable. The restaurant has seating to dine in and it was clean. The decor is vibrant and colorful!! There weren't many people inside. I'm assuming because they just opened. I wish them luck with their new business!! 3 stars!! Check them out!!!"
"Hocco - The Indian Kitchen; newly opened located in Chesapeake, VA! The first Hocco establishment to open in the USA! They make wraps, bowls, and various traditional Indian dishes. I tried several items from the menu, and each one was a banger!I had the spicy shrimp bowl, garlic naan, tandoori lamb chops, and mango lassi. Each dish was flavorful, seasoned, cooked perfectly, and just delicious! For my Indian foodies, or if you've never had Indian food, this is the place to run to!"
"Great food.Friendly service. Wide variety of dishes. Complimentary tea and pudding was a nice touch. Vegan tikka masala was in point!"
"New Indian place - lots of space and what I had to as delicious - try it! I had eggplant and roti which was made to order for sure."
"Ordered the lamb biryani, golbi Manchurian and mango lassi while my son was at the skate park. Everything was excellent, esp the biryani. Will def be back to try some of other indo Chinese options on the menu."
