"We are frequently in the neighborhood of Blue Cow and we decided to give it a shot. We ordered Cookie Dough and Strawberry Balsamic. The Strawberry Balsamic had strong hints of coconut which was off putting. Cooke Dough had a strong peanut aftertaste. Since this was our cheat ice creams, the ice creams didn't live up to our expectation. However, the staff are incredibly helpful and kind."
"The staff were very welcoming and allowed samples of the flavors. They were able to make a cup of late night coffee. There are plenty of dietary options available such as vegan, dairy free, and gluten-free flavors. The space is super clean and decorated well for the holidays. They had holiday plants for sale. Great space and will return again."
"Yelp should probably combine this listing with Corolla Cupcakes since they're in the same space, but whatever. I could do it, but I'm too lazy.Sweet Cups is the froyo portion of the store, and it was deeeee-licious. It's the kind you self-serve out of a machine and pay by the ounce, so you definitely get more than you thought you were filling. The salted caramel and mint cookie were both really good. They also have a topping station that's also self-serve (they're so sneaky), with whole pieces of candy for some of them! They also have healthier toppings like fruit. There are a couple of tables inside, and they have a really nice bathroom."
"Stopped for ice cream on the way to an airplane ride. The ice cream was so good, we stopped again after the ride. And not only is the ice cream delicious, but the beef hotdogs are as well (and I normally do not like beef hotdogs). To top it off, the owner was super nice, and informative (he told us some great info about Andy Griffith and his nearby home). Will definitely be back when we visit OBX again!"
"The water Ice was delish. Tasted Fresh and not syrupy. It also didn't melt fast. Was able to sit and enjoy. Recommend especially on a warm October day!"
"Açaí bowls are great! I got the Avalon and it was definitely the "Perfect Bowl Blend." The small was the perfect size for a dessert and included granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries, honey, and coconut. They even offer a unsweet açaí or pitaya base. Coffee crunch shake was ok. It was more chocolate than coffee. Root beer float: 3 scoops of ice cream and a can of Mug. My son loved it! The employees were patient and friendly. The sitting areas were clean and spacious. There is plenty of parking, too!"
"Classic place, used to go here when I was a kid. Glad to see it's still here and thriving."
"Before I begin, let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone. So with that being said let's go!.My wife and I spotted this little spot located across from the place we were staying, we decided to give them a try. They had a nice selection of ice cream flavors to choose from. My wife chose banana pudding and cookies and cream with a two scoop cup and I chose a coffee ice cream with caramel swirl and coffee chips ( sorry, I forgot the actual name of it ) . I took oof one star because you can't sample any of the flavors so you're basically winging it! Other than that I will return to try other flavors!."
"Kebab, gyro, hot dogs, corn dogs, Greek salad, jalapeno poppers, chicken burger, etc. Chicken shish kebab platter was just average, too small portion. The Italian dressing was quite terrible. $10 for a combo meal. They also have Hersheys ice cream and frozen drinks. The most tropical looking kebab shop I have seen. Indoor and outdoor seating. Seems clean enough. You need a key to use the restroom."
"I scream for ice cream! This spot is cooool! I got a cool changing cup of butter pecan... over $5 which is pretty steep, but it was satisfying, although the pecans didn't seem too crunchy and tasted weird. Lots of flavors to choose from and quick service from two nice you g gentlemen. The also sell sauces, popcorn, jams, candy and other items at their farmer's market shelf. In the back of the store, there are several shelves of Avon products! The combination of inventory here is a hoot! Nice clean restrooms and pleasant vibe!"
"La Neveria Michoacana is worth going out of the way for when you're in need of a sweet treat! From fruity and tangy to smooth and creamy, they have a variety of flavors to suit anyone's cravings. The ice cream itself is thick, with a nice pull to it. I particularly enjoy their fruit flavors because they actually taste like the real deal since they are packed with so much fruit. They also serve homemade popsicles and savory snacks.I really enjoy their mangonada, which has their mango ice cream topped with fresh mango and tangy chimoy. You can actually see the mango fibers in the ice cream, the fresh mango on top has always been very ripe, and their chamoy isn't too syrupy or gnawingly sweet. It's downright addicting and the best mangonada I've had!"
"Came into this location on a Monday afternoon about 2 PM with my family of 7. We had a great experience. The employee who helped us was very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and well put together. The art within is very vibrant and welcoming. There are many toppings to choose from, the ice cream was delicious, and the price is reasonable. We would definitely recommend and return in the future."

Wow! What a treat. I had a delightful experience at Blue Cow Ice Cream. My best friend and I went in for the first time last night.***LOCATION***This is located in a strip mall in the Short Pump area. There is a lot of parking out front in the lot. Happy I was in the area to check it out.***EXPERIENCE***The woman who helped us was very kind and patient. She let us try a few flavors and was so sweet when we had trouble deciding. Cookies & Cream was the winner of the night for me, and even though this ice cream shop is far from where I live, I would drive back for this flavor alone. Something in the vanilla was just so amazing. It was a simple flavor done right.***PRICE***I got the mini cup and with my tip the total came to be just a little over $4.***CONCLUSION***I've been to a few ice cream spots in Short Pump and have to say this is my favorite one. I can't wait to come back to devour more delicious ice cream!

While becoming temporary residents in Church Hill, Spotty Dog immediately became one of our favorite spots in this cute neighborhood and city. They come up with innovative ice cream flavors practically every month while also still serving their regular flavors such as Madagascar Vanilla - which is one of my favorites. When we are in town my husband and I frequent spotty dog at least 3 times a week - I know, can't be healthy. But their ice is so wholesome delicious. Their latest weekend addition is Vermont style creemes and I have to say they are even better than the creemes I've had in Vermont. Can't recommend this place enough - amazing and patient staff.

Ray's is always my first choice when picking out an ice cream spot! There are tons of parking spots surrounding the Lauderdale location. They currently are having all orders placed online (raysrva.com) - click on "ordering instructions" and then once you have your order, it will give you a time the order will be ready to pickup at the window. They have so many options - Italian ice, frozen custard, hand scooped custard, shakes, sundaes, and so many others. I usually get the Ray's Rockslide which is frozen custard (vanilla, chocolate, or twist (van/choc.)) mixed with any candy or topping you want. No matter what you get, your ice cream will be perfectly rich, creamy, and full of delicious flavors that leave you wanting more!

Coming into this establishment, one of the things noticed is the cleanliness. That was great. The ice cream is Hershey's ice cream. They do not make their own ice cream. They had a nice selection of various ones. The server really gave us our moneys worth on the single serves. She packed the ice cream in to those dishes, I give her credit. 3 single servings was $14.54. Great service but I'm not a big fan of Hersheys ice cream.

Bottom Line: An old fashioned drive in serving seafood, burgers and milkshakes. My husband and I decided to give John's Drive In a try after seeing it featured in the July 2022 edition of Our State magazine. John's originally opened in 1977 and in true drive-in fashion you order at a window, food is delivered through a window or door and there is only outdoor seating at picnic tables. After combing through Yelp Reviews my husband and I ordered two of their signature items - fried Dolphin (Mahi) boat (a styrofoam container with big pieces of battered and fried Mahi, hush puppies and a side) and a milkshake. We also ordered the blackened tuna boat. All of our food was very good but I particularly enjoyed the tender blackened tuna. It wasn't too spicy and had the perfect amount of flavor. In hindsight we could have split a basket as they both offered plenty of food.We arrived at John's about 10:45am on a Sunday in August and we were surprised that the line was already forming for the 11am opening time. We were fortunate to get the last legit parking spot; otherwise, I'm not sure what we would have done.

I've been anxiously waiting for this spot to open for what feels like years. Finally! We rode our bikes along the boardwalk and saw it is open so we had to stop in and take a look and try a scoop! This is going to be great during the hot summer when you're on the beach and want to come enjoy a treat. In front they have a large patio with plenty of tables and outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade. They also serve Starbucks coffee inside this Marriott Lobby shop. The vibe is cute and retro with a large glass case inside where you can view all the flavors and make your choice. It's pretty pricey but that's as expected for this most fancy of VAB hotels. Very posh. They have some yummy ice cream flavors featuring the famous Tarnished Truth bourbon made across the street in the Cavalier hotel distillery.Ice cream is creamy good and I want to come back and try one of the milkshakes or sundaes another time.

"Delicious cookies & ice cream! We got a variety to sample and share. It was a perfect night cap after our ghost tour! Staff were friendly and helpful. Very chill vibes. ."
"Yes! Please stop in for ice cream, mangonada, elote, plaleta or fruit! This is a really nice Mexican ice cream sweets shop. Tons of ice cream and paletas to choose from!! Some ice cream flavors, I've never seen before. This place takes credit cards or cash. Big enough to enjoy with friends and really good for kids!! Cute place. Nice staff. Next to funville. OMG. GO NOW!!"
"Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. When we go to the outer banks this is a must stop for us. Friendly service, great ice cream and flavor variety is the best. Try it, you'll like it."
"The service was kind and efficient. We had 8 orders on an order, and we were able to go inside and order quickly. The prices are comparable to most other ice cream places in OBX, but this is homemade. I personally had a scoop of chocolate marshmallow and a scoop of cake batter on a waffle cone. It was very yummy. My boyfriend got a frozen sea salted double espresso caramel drink, and it was very good also. I would recommend coming here, and enjoying the surrounding antique shops, and I would enjoy this shop again."
"The hubs and I were in the Williamsburg area in search of a cold sweet treat. We've gotten accustomed to shaved ice on the islands, but on the mainland the ice is more coarse. Thankfully yelp helped us locate this local shop offering snow cones to cool off on this hot humid day. They have a small parking lot, but don't be discouraged the turnover rate is high as customers brought their treats into their cars and left. There is a plethora of flavors to choose from. I was trying to be somewhat mindful of calories, so I chose the sugar free dreamsicle. Vanilla and orange flavors mixed sounded like a dream:) The hubs ordered the spongebob which included mango, lemon-lime, and lemonade. But then we both saw the sign of ultimate "stuffed" snowball. :::eyes widened::: Calories went out the door, and I ordered mine stuffed while his was ultimate stuffed lol. The difference was condensed milk and marshmallow fluff in the bottom. We both had the ice cream in the center of our snowball and a soft serve on top. Ingenious concept and it was very refreshing. I ordered a regular stuffed and they were very generous to fill it to the top, to the point of adding an additional cup to support all the cold juices. This is worth checking out and great for the little ones. Support local!"
"A nice planned trip to visit this cool spot! Air conditioning on 90 ° days is necessary. Between 3 of us we sampled 3 different menu items. Ice cream, twister and nachos. Everything was enjoyed by all. Plenty of flavors and combinations to enjoy your icecream. Milkshakes, cones, lots of toppings and extras!!! Of course there's chocolate, strawberry and vanilla but, why? Restaurant was clean. Customer service was excellent. The staff was patient, offered suggestions and samples. Indoor seating and a bench outside. Parking shared by other stores in the plaza. P.S. You can't go wrong listening to 80s music while you indulge!"
"This drive-thru experience that basically specializes in dessert/drinks. We went through the first time on a whim and we're blown out of the water for the desserts that we got. We have since been back five or six times and have given Word of Mouth recommendations to a bunch of our friends. If you're in the area or even close by is definitely worth a tripRita's basically specializes in a combination of Italian frozen ice and custards. They sell their desserts either in layers of custard and Ice than custard than ice or a drink called a blendini which mixes the two.The Italian Ice is exceptionally flavorful and is the way you wanted every slushie to be as a kid. Dripping with flavor and Frozen goodness. They have different flavors of ice all the time and they frequently rotate them. I actually downloaded their app just so I can check what flavors they have and they also offer to send alerts when your favorite flavor is in stock. I highly recommend the strawberry in my opinion it's the best followed by Cherry and Dragon Blood. But they frankly have like 30 or 40 different flavors that they could make and they generally offer 9 to 10 at a time. The custard is also rich and creamy they have options of vanilla and chocolate and often a specialty custard.Pricing is basically the same as buying blizzards at Dairy Queen so it's not cheap but it's also not really that expensive. And if you get it you will enjoy it well beyond the price."
"WHY IS THIS PLACE SO FRICKIN' GOOD? I love ice cream. I love this ice cream more. I can't think of another ice cream place anywhere that had these flavors and the richness. No OBX trip is complete without stopping here. My friends and I had 3 days here and I think we came here 3x. AND I'M LACTOSE INTOLERANT. So I only took a few bites each visit, of their ice cream, but they were amazing bites. They have a little bench inside and some seating outside to enjoy the treat. It's a cozy place. And service is fast and you get to try the flavors before buying. I really enjoyed stopping in here and I really recommend anyone on the fence to come!!"
"So a friend highly recommended this place. When I pulled up I thought it was kind of "sketch" on the outside. But don't let that stop you! Inside was super cute with a retro diner feel! Staff was amazing and very patient with my indecisive behaviors! And from a single cake cone to a double scoop in a waffle cone. If there was a flavor you saw before or heard from a friend and it's not labled behind the plexi glass....ask anyways! I asked if they had anymore of the biscoff & coffee flavor and they had a small amount left in the back and gave it to me free with my purchased ice cream!! The texture and smoothness of the ice cream was delightful! It was not that warm out but I had to go because of my friends recommendation. Glad I did! It was a very good drive home with ice cream on hand and heated seats on!"
"Simple , quick & never misses . Food is always hot & fresh . Casual setting & easy pick me up when craving a chili cheese dog ! Love them . Sweet potato fries are a must."
"We were in the area exploring, and after lunch, decided to get a cold treat. Searched on Yelp and Holy Cow Creamery (HCC) came up.First, look for the Duck Deli. HCC is attached to it, on the side, but you won't be able to see it from the street very well, from your car. Look for the "ice cream" and "milkshakes" flags. You'll have walk through Duck Deli to get to it. Once outside, you'll enter a fun, bright yellow back patio with the HCC order window. They seemed to have a good variety of flavors. They also allow you to sample! I ordered the blueberry cheesecake and was torn between Death by Chocolate and tiramisu, but ultimately I went with Death by Chocolate. I will definitely go for the tiramisu next time. They were pretty generous scoops and I had my fill with a medium size! Great little patio to enjoy your treats.Things to note:- outdoor seating only- small is only one scoop (only one flavor) , medium is two scoops (so 2 flavors), etc. - basically only one flavor in one scoop- I'm assuming their flavors rotate because one of the staff members were writing the menu on the chalkboard by hand. Enjoy, Friends!"
"This is a cute little neighborhood ice cream spot. Very nice place to bring the family or a cute date outing with your bae. Now this is an outdoor place, with seating to sit and enjoy your cold treat. You order at a take out window. The staff was younger but polite. The portion sizes are large, I ordered a small cone and I couldn't finish it. Only thing is you don't have control over your ice cream like you do at say Sweet Frog. But definitely worth a try!"
"I love the friendly faces and the tasty drinks. This combination goes a long way. Good customer service excels when you ask what should I get and your provided with options and a you can't go wrong assurance. I have come here a few times when in the area and it's never a disappointment. Hot fresh drinks and plenty of options on the board with seasonal varieties too. Seating available inside and outside."
"10/10... they don't mess around here. You scream, I scream.... For Sundae Scoops amazing Ice Cream.I could go on, but you should just go get yourself some ice cream."
"Do it. Fresh fried donuts.... Freaking amazing. We will definitely be going back to try other flavors."
"Rick's is a Portsmouth gem. So many options to choose from and the staff are patient and will answer all questions. My niece and I got super sundaes. Flavors: vanilla custard, strawberries, and OreosVanilla custard, strawberries, and vanilla wafers The sundae was really good and filling. The Oreos were crunchy and provided a good balance with the glazed strawberries and custard. We sat in the patio area as there is no indoor seating and enjoyed the breeze. I love it here. There is a swing for the kids to play on. We will be back!"
"Espresso Shake with some chocolate ice cream. Delicious as was some of their other drinks. This is a perfect afternoon ice cream spot."
"The only reason I gave 4 stars was due to the price. You do get a popsicle added, but at the price point if buying the milkshakes or fruit smoothies it's something you might share with another person or a once a month or quarterly treat. Pop Love Gelato is a Columbian based dessert company, that is new to the 757. Currently the other locations are in Florida. I had a chance to meet the owners, who are friendly & pleasant. They offer a wide variety of flavors ranging from tropical fruit such as soursop, passion fruit, lulo, papaya, mango the list goes on. Whether you're craving a natural sweet treat that's fruit based or have a hankering for some chocolate, creamy flavors they got you covered. With many options such as milk shakes, fruit smoothies, gelato popsicles, cold drinks, coffee, a few hand scooped gelato options or you're craving some Columbian desserts they will satisfy your sweet tooth without the over kill. While it does carry a hefty price, it still packs a punch with an explosion of creamy, tropical goodness and other chocolate faves. You are definitely paying for the high quality taste! I like that they offer flavors/fruits I never tried like lulo, as well as having soursop- a fruit I first tried in Ecuador and was the really tasty & delicious to me. They offer unique desserts, so pop in and grab an affogato, a milkshake, smoothie, popsicle or scoop of gelato. Or perhaps try one of their Columbian baked goods. They are located in Virginia Beach, VA in the Timberlake Shopping Center."
"The place is brand new and opened early and my family could not be happier! The parking lot is a little tricky to get into, but once you're parked, prepare yourself for a really good burger experience! When we arrived on a late Thursday afternoon, the line was just out the door. They do have some seating inside. The place was clean and run like a well-oiled machine. We ate at one of the tables and service was friendly and courteous. A couple of managers stopped by our table to either ask us if we wanted water or napkins, or to ask how our experience was. (It was great!)The menu is fairly limited with burgers, chicken sandwiches, a hot dog or grilled cheese. French fries, shakes and soda rounded out the selections. We all opted for burgers, shakes and fries. It was a little higher priced than I expected to pay but the food really was very good. We are already planning when we can go back. When we left, the line was out the door and down the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. Go early if you can. They aren't set up in their app yet, but when they do get set up, we will order ahead and save some time. I wish them huge success and look forward to eating there again. It really was delicious and the vibe was just right. My kids are already choosing what they will order next time. That's when you KNOW it's good!"
"Great ice cream shop. Received information ELG . I love the work that ELG is empowering young girls. Large selection of ice cream flavors. Nice and inviting space to relax and enjoy treat"
"Didn't get pics because we ate ours so fast because it was so good! My bf got the funnel donuts as part of the do ut sundae and OMG it was sooo good!! I just got 2 scoops of ice cream and it was delicious! Small on the inside, didn't have other food and high school staff so you know what you're getting into. Great donut and ice cream options! Will definitely be back!"
"I found Joysicles Gourmet Pops at a local farmers market, and I'm so glad that I did! They are known to make ice pops using only the freshest, wholesome ingredients, that also had both gluten- and vegan-friendly options! When we stopped by, the menu offered the following flavors: Strawberry, Miami Mango, Pineapple Mint, Blueberry Limeade, Strawberries & Cream, and Cookies & Cream. We ordered:+Miami Mango+Blueberry Limeade+Strawberries & CreamOut of all of the three, I liked the Blueberry Limeade the best - you could really taste the fresh blueberries and the hint of lime to make this a refreshing treat! The Miami Mango was full- on mango, and anyone who's a mango lover would really this! The Strawberries & Cream tasted like strawberry ice cream, which really had a heavier cream flavor.Staff was friendly, and they accept all formats of payment, which was super convenient.I would love to try out the rest of their rotating flavors!+gourmet popsicles!+Blueberry Limeade+found in local farmers markets"
