Seriously, I think the street is cleaner than the floors in my room were. The person at the front desk tried to overcharge me. Stay somewhere else."

Don C. "What a wonderful Mother's Day gift from our daughter to her mother, and I had the pleasure of enjoying the gift as well. My Grubbing Buddy received a weekend stay at the Williamsburg Inn. Not since our stay at the Graylyn Estates located in Winston-Salem, NC have we enjoyed such an upscale hotel stay. not only were the accommodations but the check-in staff and the Inn's concierges were both helpful and pleasant. Our room was both comfortable and relaxing. Because I am a heavy coffee drinker, the Nespresso coffee machine was a pleasant sight, and served along with the high-end water bottles, Saratoga Natural Spring Water made my morning coffee even nicer. a plush white cotton robe and slippers for us both made our stay even more pleasant. and I've had chocolates lifted on our pillows after turndown but how about chocolate and liqueur "Disaronno" with two beautiful tiny liqueur glasses, I would tell you how good the chocolate and liqueur were, but they were both gone when I came out the shower. My Grubbing Buddy had no idea where it all went. While everything about the Williamsburg Inn was extra ordinary and high-end I would definitely do it all again. Thanks to our daughter we were both introduced to this delightful Inn in Williamsburg."

I had originally booked our stay here but had to change due to travel plans. The hotel staff was very inviting and helpful. They welcomed us and were kind. The decor is modern. Jonathan M. "Spent two nights here in the Fall of 2012. Stayed in the Featherstone room on the second level. Cozy room with a gas fireplace and large full bath. The inn was beautifully decorated and conveniently located to downtown Manteo. This was our first B&B experience so I wasn't sure what to expect. The innkeepers were very friendly and welcoming. Our favorite feature of the house was the back porch with a fully stocked fireplace. My wife also loved the array of cats that live at the inn (outside cats).Breakfast was served at 8am and was delicious both days. Day 1 featured quiches, bacon, home fries, fruit, yogurt, and biscuits & gravy. Day 2 featured sausage links, fruit, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and grits. Coffee, hot tea, water, and sodas were available at no extra charge 24/7.Overall we loved our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Manteo as you are literally 2-3 blocks from virtually everything downtown. My only negative is that the bed wasn't the best but by no means the worst."

Kwame S. "We visited Va Beach for a long weekend, and I have nothing but good things to say about Hyatt Place. Since we visited during the offseason, the rates were pretty generous (about $100 per night). From my understanding, this hotel opened in 2023, so everything is new and shiny. That said, I saw housekeeping constantly cleaning the common areas. While on the medium size, our hotel room was super comfortable. OMG, the shower was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly, helpful and resourceful. A complimentary breakfast is included. The breakfast had a decent variety of goodies-typically scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, pancakes/waffles/french toast, sausage/bacon, yogurt, an amazing berry compote, and cereal. There probably were more things that I missed. The hotel is located in a decent part of the boardwalk so you'll be within walking distance to many great restaurants in the area and the beach (of course). The only (very minor) inconvenience is the valet service (15 or so minutes) can take a bit of time especially during check out hours. Overall, I would gladly to return to this hotel for another Va Beach adventure."

Yella Rae M. "I was informed to email this person because they are in charge of hotel by hotel staff who gave me the card [email protected] this is what I emailed this person 2 weeks ago with photos and still no response:Good Afternoon,I wanted to send an email in regards to my recent stay at your comfort suites facility. My account number for my stay was 932597602, room 511 and the dates were from 6/13/24 to 6/17/24. I first would like to address the staff. The staff was very friendly from the front desk to the staff working in the kitchen area. They showed excellent customer service and every morning greeted us with a hello and or good morning. Now on the other hand although housekeeping was via request only, they fell short of the mark as well as whomever is in charge of the hotel maintenance. The first day our microwave went out (keep in mind i was traveling with children) So i had to come down to the main lobby and go back and forth to heat up food until there was a replacement sent which was on the following day. There was also only one elevator in working condition so the wait time to go up and down to warm up food was quite a bit of a hassle. I reported the issue with the bathroom and floor that night to the front desk and he wrote it in a book and stated that someone would come and fix the problem. The shower head and tub faucet leaked water, the shower head was coming out of the wall and when the water was on it would run everywhere. I did notify the front desk again and they said that because it was written in the book there would be no need to write it again and the person who deals with that situation had already been notified. Needless to say no one ever came to fix the problem. When it came to house keeping, it looked like whoever stayed in that room had a party because there were wet stains on the floor as well as balloon tape on the walls. It was bad. I thought our room would've gotten changed but it didn't and we were not given any type of credit which was very disappointing. The kitchen area was also very sticky, literally everyday. People would walk on the floor and you could hear the sticky sound when everyone walked and it was quite annoying honestly. I asked one of the workers when was the last time that it had been mopped because that has been going on everyday of our stay he stated "every night" But if that were the case everyone wouldn't have been making noise from their shoes when walking on it. That entire kitchen area was very dirty even around the trash bins. Hot Tub was also out of service. As a person who is in the media field as a correspondent/Journalist I was very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness. But overall as i stated the staff was nice. I thought I'd bring this to your attention as I've discussed the good and the bad. Hopefully these issues will be addressed in hopes that someone can do random checks with staff and upkeep.Thank You,"

"Wonderful! The short:Nicely appointed rooms with lots of common spaces both on main level (sitting rooms) and downstairs.Comfortable beds, good food - nice location.Tight parking (try to arrive in 1 car - we had to come in 2)The long of it:My husband and I ended up here on a last-minute trip. We were able to find an opening at this B&B, and being B&B fans... we were so glad we did. We didn't plan for this at all even though it was our 6th Anniversary and he was leaving for a work trip for a month. We drove together and met at the B&B before parting ways. The hosts were wonderful and automatically upgraded us to a nicer room (King William) - LOVE the personal experience we get when we go to B&Bs!. When we arrived, we were given a tour of the B&B by Ike and really enjoyed hearing about all the knick-knacks and the location. The room had a separate sitting room and balcony that was shared but with a small separation wall. It was all beautiful. We were thrilled with the coffee machine that just kept spitting out all kinds of delights for our caffeine addictions so we wouldn't have to bug anyone for coffee at 8pm-8am =)The house had 3 common rooms in the main floor (minus the kitchen/dining) and 2 common spaces downstairs in the basement (pool table, TV room and smaller kitchenette). The main level is filled with antiques and collectables from travels around the world. There are many, many items to take in. The basement had more space and even some terracotta soldiers (very cool).Food:In the morning we were treated to raspberry pancakes, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs... everything was delicious! =)We really enjoyed our stay and hoped to come again soon when in the area."

That slide has some serious speeds To provide some insight, he had some long shorts on. Afterwards he said he felt like he was wearing some daisy dukes. haha.. In the lobby is a cool Zoltar fortune telling machine like the one in "Big." A few games are available for play. There's a bar downstairs as well. They have a nice backdrop with " VA BEACH" on the wall for photo ops. It's a welcoming and fun, hip place to hang. We played tabletop shuffle board, and the bar hook & ring game. Once we checked in the customer service was great and the employees who worked here have been very helpful. When arriving to our room we had parking for our car in the area and we noticed that the gym was literally right next to us (not even a 30 second walk). Once we walked into our room, we loved the layout and everything looked great! From the soft bed and pillows, bathroom, desk, reclining chair, microwave and the mini fridge. A couple days later we just realized that we had a good sized kitchen that the 3 rooms shared with silverware, pots and pans, stove, large fridge, another microwave and also a washer and dryer! This place has everything you need. Not to mention a mini NEX and a bar and grill just a short walk away.So if you're in a need of a short term place to stay for a homey and somewhat hotel stay feel with house keeping, this place is just right! Location of the hotel is nice since its right on the beach. It felt clean enough and the A/C was working just fine. TV was small but works. They were remodeling the lobby to make it more modern looking. Parking garage was dark and dirty feeling but nice since its free. The price was good for being on the beach and oceanfront. The location is great and within walking distance to a lot. The staff was friendly. The pool was nice and clean. Parking was not a problem. The people staying there were all decent and it was quiet at night. The views of the ocean and dunes were great. The bed slept fine; the a/c was good; and the room was bug and hair free. (I always inspect thoroughly.) I like staying in mom and pop motels on some of our trips, depending on the type of trip we're taking. It was just the two of us this time and it was a last minute and casual road trip in our Jeep. The Islander worked fine for us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for the person who isn't too high maintenance and doesn't hate older mom and pop motels. Clean and comfortable place to stay on the beach at a reasonable rate."

Kevin M. "Wow! Where do I begin? I get to the hotel and the only person at the front desk is having a conversation about getting his wife a ride to the beauty salon instead of dealing with his customer. The first thing that I notice was that the lobby was completely empty. I get up to my room and it smells like a musty gym closet. I had to go and buy some glade candles from Target to make the smell go away. I ordered a non-smoking room, but apparently, it really doesn't matter what you reserve, as they will only give you what's available. My second night here was better than the first, but that was after I had to buy some Glade candles and incense to get rid of the musty smell in my room. I came back to my room to see that no one had come in to clean up or make up the beds. I called the front desk and about 30 minutes later, the same person who picked up the phone was up here to clean up my room. After speaking to her for a minute, she gave me the real deal as to what was going on with this hotel:1 - it's under new management. Clearly they have no idea what they are doing. There was this guy at the front desk who appeared to be from India. He had absolutely no customer service skills. 2 - the staff that's here are not held accountable for what needs to get done, which leads back to an inexperienced management staff. I actually felt sorry for her afterwards because she's a good person trying her best within a deplorable working environment. My last debacle was with trying to get an iron. With this review being long enough, all I will say is that it shouldn't have taken me close to two hours to get a working iron. This review is my review after three nights here, but this shouldn't be the norm for ANY hotel."

The front desk staff was friendly and they even provided both bottles of water and flavor drops to add into them to help with your mood. Apologies I cannot remember the name of these solid cube drops.Rooms were reasonable sized and also kept clean and clear. I was thrilled to not have any Wifi issues as I had during a previous trip elsewhere. I didn't have a chance to use the pool, however, while small, the gym had everything you needed (including extra bottles of water).Prices were reasonable. Vince N. "Boy, it was difficult trying to find a hotel in this area. Reviews are none to very limited on Yelp as well as Trip Advisor. We ended up here on recommendation by extended family, whose family is local. ATMOSPHERE:It definitely fits the name, with its wood floors throughout, non-sound-deadening construction, quaintness, charm, and views. This 25-unit inn is tucked behind a quiet residential street and also borders some local restaurants & shops and is right on the water. A boardwalk connects the pier as well as neighboring inns and businesses. ARRIVAL:We drove from Philly and arrived at 3:00am. We pre-arranged a rate for the partial night's stay. A simple call to the person-on-duty brought her out of bed to check us in. ROOMS:Because of our schedule and I guess the hotel's, we were in 3 different rooms each night. All of the rooms were clean. Yes they're older looking, but clean & up-kept is what matters to us. It's not a dive by any means. The TV's are old meaning not flat paneled. The air conditioning units are strong & cool. The windows are covered with vinyl shutters which are great for blocking out the early morning sun, and to me are cleaner than drapery. As far as the bed quality, all 3 rooms differed, from sagging and springy on our first 2 nights, to newer & more firm on our 3rd. Nothing far from uncomfortable though. The bed was actually more comfortable than some of the major hotel brands we stayed at during our 26 day vacation! And the pillows were great, meaning firm. I loathe those soft worthless ones. There's free Wi-Fi, but a bit spotty. No biggie as AT&T has great reception. BATHROOMS:All 3 were the same, 1 sink and shower/tub, and hair dryer. But the tub filler doesn't come on, and there's no drain stopper. Possibly to discourage baths? Water pressure was good and drainage was quick. FRONT DESK:All the ladies who we interacted with were very friendly.PARKING:It's free! Where are you going to get that perk nowadays?!HOUSEKEEPING:On the day we had to relocate to the room next door, the housekeeper knocks on the door regardless of the DND sign. Not a big deal as we were up already. CHECK OUT:Stopped at the front desk to return the keys and for a receipt. All's well that ends well!OVERALL:We'd stay here again. The rate was reasonable for the room quality. But I doubt we'll be in this neck of the woods again."

Maria T. "Great Scott! No, not Winfield Scott or Sir Walter Scott, but Scott, the innkeeper at the Magnolia Manor B&B!! What a wonderful host! We called for a last minute reservation & Scott immediately accommodated us! We asked for a 2 bedroom suite, as I was traveling for a weekend getaway with my BFF (and fellow "Steel Magnolia") for a girl's trip & Scott graciously offered the entire 3rd floor rooms to us @ a terrific price! He sent us emails with arrival info, weather updates & activities to enjoy during our stay. We were immediately impressed by the façade of this magnificent brick structure featuring several magnolia trees on the manicured lawn. Walking in was like stepping back in time! We loved the entry room with its immaculate wooden floors, showcase w/ books & antiques, stunning brick fireplace & hearth, w/ the mantle displaying pewter. We were absolutely drawn in to the Colonial Williamsburg feel! What a perfect welcome! The sitting & dining area were decorated w/ the same colonial vibe, a cozy sofa, a corner secretary, a grandfather clock & a set of comfy wing chairs matched w/ an antique table, by the white wooden fireplace accented w/ a copper tea things, candles, clocks & figures. This room also had a buffet table where breakfast was to be served. It had a huge selection of teas & snacks which were available all day.The rooms were exquisitely furnished; we loved the antique colonial feel. My room 3, was beautifully appointed w/ a grand four poster king bed that was high as the clouds! I loved the vintage step stool provided in each room to climb the stairway to heaven!! The bed was soft & comfy as the clouds too! I felt like I was truly sleeping in the heavens! The room was equipped with all the amenities necessary for our stay! A small frig & a luggage rack were tucked into the dormer windows w/ floral valances, a brocade camel back settee, plenty of outlets for your devices w/ free wifi, lamps, and closet space. The closets had nice wooden hangers and ironing supplies. I loved the burgundy oriental rugs & the creative way the flat screen tv was mounted to the wall. There were built in drawers on either side of the room, but the top drawers were taken out to attach the tv, yet the integrity of the colonial look was kept in tact. Clever! As this an old manor house, the floors creaked as we walked on them adding the the colonial charm of the place! One has to remember that this is an old manor house not a modern hotel, yet it was just as comfortable to us as a newer space. It was so homey and warm. The bathroom had cool, brass vintage fixtures, a large shower w/ great water pressure, plenty of towels & washcloths & a hairdryer (which dried my long hair super fast) in the vanity. Shower gel and conditioning shampoo is provided in dispensers in the shower, but you may want to pack some of your own conditioner. The highlight of the bathroom, and indeed, my experience in this inn, was the huge bathtub with a jacuzzi! I'm so glad I brought my bubble bath because I used this relaxing tub both days of my stay and it was so relaxing! The beveled mirrors were interesting additions & the recessed lighting on dimmers added to the chill vibe. There are extra towels downstairs by the staircase should any guests need more than the ones provided. My friend's room, 4, was just as special as mine, w/ a pretty cream settee at the foot of the bed. The bathroom to this room is private & is exclusively for the guests in room 4; it's about two or three steps from the room. But certainly not inconvenient. After our restful nights, we awoke to simply breakfasts that were diverse each morning, accommodating a variety of dietary needs. One morning it was French toast stuffed w/fruit compote and powered sugar on top (a guest fav!) along w/turkey bacon, the next morning was egg, veggie & cheese sandwiches served with fruit & muffins (which were homemade & delectable!) There's also oatmeal & energy/granola bars offered. Due to COVID, the meals are served in wax paper, individually wrapped, which took away from the B&B experience but was certainly understandable due to the circumstances. Scott let us know that this was a temporary feature, although many of his guests love the "grab n' go" convenience of the wrapped foods. Pots of hot fresh coffee were on hand as well! Although the breakfasts weren't my fave, I appreciated that Scott can always accommodate his guests preferences such as keto, gluten free, vegan, etc. He's a hard worker! He was always so cordial & hospitable to everyone! In the back of this gorgeous estate is plenty of parking for the guests, Adirondack chairs encircling a fire pit, a deck w/ additional seating & a welcoming "pineapple" sign! The owners here truly live up to the pineapple symbol of welcome w/ their friendly demeanor! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia Manor B&B and we will without a doubt return to this charming, stately, historic inn!"

There are plently of places nearby to get anything you could need for your vacation including great restaurants and local food. It was a beautiful and extremely comfortable room. The porch was just beautiful with double seat swings at each room upstairs. There are 2 houses actually and we stayed at the newer one. The rooms all face the sound and sunset it amazing on those balconies. This place is so clean and well kept and very eclectic and funky. I have to say that the reason I chose this inn was because they had new king size tempurpedic mattresses. I am very picky about beds and this one was the most comfortable bed Ive ever slept in, the pillows too. Especially away from home. The other reason is that it said on their website that there was free wifi. I will say at the time we stayed there there was only wifi in the main house so we didnt really have that available. They said we could go over and use the main house parlor there for wifi but it was kind of weird for my husband because he woke up early and didnt want to wake the other guests up. Also walking between houses at night for wifi was not something I wanted to do. They said they may have more broad wifi access some time in the future so maybe that will change who knows. It would not stop me from coming back I can assure you. The surroundings more than makeup for the lack of wifi. The hosts were such a sweet pair which we looked forward to chatting with every day. They serve homemade breakfast out on your porch every day with very strong coffee first then they comeback with interesting, fresh high quality ingredient egg concoctions. Something different every day. They were extremely helpful and enjoyed giving us great suggestions and easy directions to wherever we wanted to go. We literally walked into a mama deer and her 2 babies while we were walking under the main house to go out to the sound. I couldnt believe it. We also saw a fox and rabbits in that secluded area they are in located at just off the main road. We also saw a beaver in the sound and little crabs at the edge of the sound. There is a cool walkway out from each of the houses that walks out to the sound and cool benches. Its very sceneic so amazing with boats floating by and the sunset.I recomend this place for adults only. There are so many eclectic funky things all about the house that Id be afraid they might be ruined by kids. Also the whole house's wood floors are rather noisy even from within your room but if its just adult traffic it isnt a problem. But I could imagine running feet and loud voices would echo through the whole place.I wish there was a lock on each of the room doors but they did have a closet that you could lock valuables up but the rooms remain unlocked. This didnt pose a problem and we werent worried about our stuff truthfuly but Id have liked to lock it just the same.We spent a whole week and we would love to stay again. I hope we do get to comeback someday. We loved it!"

Next to dunking doughnuts and on the main board walk so we were able to take the trolly or scooters everywhere. We will be back next year!"

Pam P. "Let me begin by saying this is the only motel within an hour of Deltaville. And if you're Yelping accommodations in this area then (like us) you're not from around these parts, are ya? No. So you won't know that the locals call it "the Darkside Inn." Not sure if that is just being mean about its upkeep or the people lodging here or the folks who own it or something more sinister. Regardless. Did I say it is the only place to stay in the nearby area? :) if you're on the water in D-vile and don't want to drive an hour to sleep the night, this is your only option. So let me get to it. This is not luxurious or even "nice" by American business traveler standards. But it will beat sleeping outdoors and getting eaten alive by mosquitos on a muggy night. Or sleeping in your car and suffocating to death because you can't keep the windows down because of said mosquitos.Pros: No bugs of any kind in room. The bed and bath linens were crisp white, and all usable surfaces were clean. Comfy and fresh pillows. The management and staff are very friendly. Free and speedy wireless. TV older but worked fine. In-room as well as lobby coffee are both free. Water cooler in lobby so you can fill your bottles. Air conditioning unit worked well! Cons: Heavy smoke smell even in the allegedly nonsmoking rooms, and VERY dilapidated furniture that ought to have been replaced about 25 years ago.. Beds OK comfy but mattresses pretty worn. Stove hoods from when the rooms must have had kitchenettes were still intact but now a microwave and mini-fridge are where the stove used to be. Carpet not well-vacuumed. Window did not open. (Pool wasn't open yet when we stayed mid-May.Beware the hard water - the taste will freak out city slickers when tooth brushing or coffee making. Use the bottled water in lobby is my suggestion to avoid the unpleasant taste. We paid $70 a night in mid-May, but again, price kind of doesn't matter, because, in case I didn't mention it, it's the only nearby hotel. And it will do for a night's rest and a shower and a cup of coffee to get your day going."

Rebecca M. "Lovely home, great rooms, and SPECTACULAR food! I liked Williamsburg, but I LOVED The Williamsburg Manor. The location of this place is spectacular: just a quick walk over to the Colonial Williamsburg shopping/bar area, yet quiet enough to feel like you're getting away. The house is 'modern colonial' and very well cared for---making it feel comfortable yet modern. Their backyard patio is ADORABLE and if it were a tad bit warmer, I would have sat out there with a book and a glass of wine no problem. The rooms themselves are well apportioned, comfortable, and clean. Most seemed to have their own bathroom too. Downstairs there is every snack food imaginable for guests to take and there are fresh yummy muffins too. Speaking of food--their breakfast is AMAZING. The Hearty Porridge and Potato Pancakes were out of this world. Fresh and savory. I ate so much I could even eat lunch! The German Inn Keeper (who is not the owner---as another person mentioned, lives off-site) is ultra friendly and accommodating. She let us stick around to finish some work in their living area well after check out of 11am.Finally---the rates are incredibly reasonable and the rooms downstairs were perfect for reading (particularly the room with the fireplace) or browsing the web. Also of note---they have a 'honor system' bar where you can buy bottles of wine or beer. Lovely!!"

Lauren T. "My partner and I took a weekday to ourselves and visited the winery for tasting. The service was absolutely wonderful. Our sommelier knew their various wines and made wonderful suggestions based on our individual palette preferences. At the end of the tour and tasting we enjoyed some light snacks. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual we didn't feel rushed at all. The staff were super friendly and helped me quickly purchase one of the wines my partner loved without him knowing as a surprise. We even were lucky enough to enjoy a late lunch at the restaurant across the path. We will definitely be back again to enjoy this local treat. Ps - if you're a tourist looking for a LOVE sign they have one with wine corks."

Matt S. "People are just out of control now-a-days!!!!! I just checked into this property and thought I'd check the reviews out just for fun. (I know you usually do that BEFORE you make a reservation but oh well...) People are CRAZY!!!! So many negative reviews!! This place is absolutely fine! Nice even!!! Lobby is beautiful and cozy, check in was very professional and fast. My room is great! Cool when I walked in on a 103 real feel day! Beds and pillows are comfy and clean! Bathroom is clean, toilet is clean. Oh and the wifi is 100% fine! Fast and free! I just don't understand some people!!! Ok, I'm gonna scour my room looking for things to complain about and post pics. Sarcasm included!!! See below....The room has a beautiful big screen TV, a fridge and microwave, a great desk and chair, lots of plugs for devices, New furniture, nice artwork, a nice view of trees out my window. You can even OPEN the windows a little bit to get some fresh air!! Anyways, don't hesitate to stay here. It's a great hotel for usually really reasonable prices. I paid, $90 total for one night mid-week. Really close to Colonial Williamburg, and a great variety of restaurants to choose from. Thank you Country Inn for a clean, comfortable room!"

Christopher C. "(If you're thinking about staying here - let alone buying into a timeshare - this is not the review for you as we were only here to sleep and did not partake in anything they had to offer.)As I said in the preamble, we basically just slept here and then did what we were doing in the area. But fwiw, here are a few observations and experiences:- The property is very, very large. 200+ acres. When they offer a map, don't be a hero - just take it. Very easy at night to initially get turned around trying to find your building, suite and appropriate parking space. When I say parking space, I mean parking space. Unless you reserve one the larger rooms, it's one car per unit and anything additional needs to go to an overflow lot. Yes, they do have security which patrols the grounds 24/7 and at check in they do give you a parking pass that really does need to be hanging from your rearview mirror. Also note when making a reservation that there are upstairs and downstairs units. If you don't want to be upstairs, make sure you make a reservation for a downstairs unit. - Speaking of check in, it was very, very slow. Lots of data entry on their side for things that should already be good to go and also a very long spiel about everything the place offers. That's nice but, not everybody wants or needs that.- The suite was great. Lots of space, multiple bathrooms, bedrooms, TVs and a full kitchen that was well stocked. Not so good was the one bathroom having an empty bulk bottle of conditioner at check in and the toilet in the one bathroom wouldn't flush/fill. Neither issue was addressed during our stay. Certain parts of the unit were in good shape like the beds and the kitchen, but the couch was beat like a dead horse. No way to sit on either of the cushions in a truly flat horizontal position. You're always slanted down like you were going to slide off on to the floor. - 9am on the dot the first morning and you get the dreaded call trying to stiff arm you in to showing up to one of their timeshare presentations. After that, no more answering the phone for me. I obviously said no but between that call and 10am, the phone rang three more times. I guess when staying here, no means?????The location is very nice. About five miles from Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown with lots of grocery stores, restaurants and strip mall goodies close by. Overall, no problem at all returning here for a future stay.(They've also got kids play areas, tennis, a restaurant, coffee shop, pools and various other activities that are open at various times/days/seasons, etc.www.hiltongrandvacations.com/en/resorts-and-destinations/virginia-and-dc/the-historic-powhatan-a-hilton-vacation-club#4C4443D8315C4D87B441190F97748B3A)"

Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Town Center

Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Town Center

Wendy L. "After reviewing many hotels in the area prior to booking this hotel, I am glad I chose to stay at Hyatt Place at the Virginia Beach Town Center (VBTC) for my recent vacation.First, Hyatt Place VBTC is minutes away from the freeway and a short drive to the Norfolk Naval Base, Oceanfront, the beach, and in short proximity to retail shops like Target, Kohl's and REI, and restaurants like Tupelo Honey Cafe, Yard House, the Cheesecake Factory, Shake Shack, among many others.Second, the hotel property sits alone so there aren't any other business traffic other than people going in and out of the hotel parking lot. I felt safe coming in and out of the hotel, and leaving my rental SUV outside. Parking is free here and there's plenty of parking. It is also very well-lit - no dark and creepy parking spots.Third, I enjoyed the service during our week stay. There was free breakfast every morning from 6:30am-9:30am on the weekdays and 7am-10am on the weekends. After those hours, they also have The Placery, where you can purchase small bites and dine without having to leave the hotel. And always available 24/7 is a small drink and snack section where you can make purchases.Fourth, the staff is very friendly - from the front desk, to the people making breakfast, to housekeeping, etc. Every employee we interacted with was a pleasure. I think there was only one hiccup where we tried to dine at The Placery around 6pm and was told by an employee that there was only 1 fryer to make appetizers and that it would be a 2-hour wait! Poor young man, he was so distressed and we reassured him as we would just dine elsewhere. We ended up just driving down the street to YardHouse - where I spent way more than I was hoping to. Yikes!Fifth, the hotel was clean. From the exterior, walking into the lobby, up the elevators to our room, and to our hotel room itself - I felt good walking around and taking my showers. It didn't have that icky feeling that I get at some hotels. The shower door was glass (not a curtain - thank goodness), and the shower head had the right pressure strength. And they had shower gel, shampoo and conditioner available and refilled. These products were attached to the shower, which made it so convenient to shower. The product smelled really good and, somehow, I love how the water in VA felt on my skin and hair - sorry, CA! (Haha) Also, the hotel smelled good every time we walked in - I loved that!Sixth, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfectly firm and just the right size. I didn't have to ask for any extras. We stayed in a 2 Queen Bed with Sofa and it was very spacious. It was on the 6th floor (it only goes up 6 floors). There was only one night where I think I heard some kids (or adults) screaming that was a bit disturbing. Other than that, I couldn't hear anything from neighboring guests.Seventh, the mini fridge held the bottled waters we purchased for the week so we always had cold drinks ready whenever we needed to hydrate.Overall, we did pay a pretty penny to stay at Hyatt Place VBTC- but it was all worth the stay. I felt safe, I had great sleep, the hotel was clean (yay for no bed bugs), and we were minutes away from all the places we needed to be.I would absolutely stay here again if I were to travel to Virginia Beach again, and I feel 100% confident recommending Hyatt Place VBTC for anyone willing to pay for comfort, safety, and great service. Note: This is a pet-friendly hotel!"

Chelley S. "This motel is about a 2.5.The pros: Few blocks from the beach. Free onsite parking. The ac blows COLD air. Microwave. Fridge. Pretty clean room. Spacious for two days. Nice staff. Bug free (cause the last place we stayed had bugs). Reasonably priced. Hmmm, that's it.The cons: the pool fits 20 ppl. There is no elevator. You have to walk past smokers to get to the room. Low lighting in rooms. Minor repairs needed in room but not horrible. Our room was not serviced. Beds are full-too small for two adults. In a pinch, we'd stay here again."
