"Someone took me for a birthday lunch. I chose the location for a first time visit. They have a very extensive menu. The burgers we both had were ok, we finished them but dont think I would return to have again. The fries were overly browned on the outside but partially raw on the inside, so very unpleasant to eat. The dining area is small and clean about 4 tables and surrounded in art befitting of the theme. The experuence wasnt a wow."
"I've gone here several times throughout the past couple years, and I've been satisfied every time! Their menu has simple yet delicious options that are super affordable, which makes it ideal for a college student like myself. I've gotten their burgers, fries, onion rings, and some of their desserts, all of which I've enjoyed. The inside has a plethora of writings from customers on the walls, creating a very unique charm. One thing I've noticed that is popular is their "cheapskate" meals, offering certain budget-friendly meals on specific days, which seems like a great way to get the most bang out of your buck."

"We decided to try Seaside Dogs and Grill this past weekend for the first time, and it did not disappoint. We had an array of things from the burger, chicken salad sandwich and corn dog nuggets for the kids. The food was great and fresh. The service was amazing! There were a lot of high school aged kids working and they were on point. It is really good to see a local restaurant support young working youth. My kids really enjoyed the "special sauce".I also noticed they had a little nook at the front where they sold t-shirts and supported some other small businesses in the area. It was a real great family feel atmosphere. We will absolutely go back!"
"Have been several times now, and the service has been great so far. The vibe is simple and understated, but clean and decorated appropriately for this type of restaurant. They have a lot of option on their menu but the reason you come here is for the burger. Each time we have been, the burger has been on point. I have tried a few different variations since they offer a variety and honestly, they have each been very good. Great buns, great cheese and of course the burgers themselves have all been great! We have not tried much else because we go here for the burgers. This is a place we frequent and an excellent choice for burger lovers."
"Really great experience! My wife and I went around 630, so we thought it was going to take a little while but were very happy and surprised with the quick service and delivery!Within a few minutes, the waitress came to our door side and we ordered food/drink. We both purchased the classic better burger and were very happy with it! I was very satisfied with the size of the burger; half expected a mediocre size burger. Will definitely be coming back to this local family owned business!"
"Best hot dog place around. I would walk here on my lunch break almost every day. They close early but that's how you know the food is good"
"Hot Dog King has been here my whole life. Had always been a local favorite and is always busy. We sat ourselves and the smiling waitress greeted us for our orders almost immediately. If you like a good hot dog, fries and good friendly hometown feel then this is your spot. My only complaint would be that they are so busy they that they have had to crunch as many tables in so it is close quarters. But, go check it out because I don't think you will be disappointed."
"The Pittie Dog Grill held their Grand Opening early last month in November at their location in the Riverview Village section of Norfolk's Granby Street, intersecting 42nd Street with a small parking lot available. It took over a spot that was previously occupied by a number of restaurants, including a location of Capt'n Crabby that closed in 2022, and before that, a Subway. Riverview Village includes a family of close knit businesses that lend mutual support to each other, and the Pittie Dog Grill is the latest one to join the family. Hot dogs are the name of the game at Pittie Dog Grill, which has also dedicated its business to the support of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Their interior decor is highlighted by an abundance of creative pit bull art. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of their merchandise, which includes their Pittie Dog T-Shirts and NuLand's Hot Sauce, is donated to local animal rescue centers. They also sell house made pup treats in pumpkin and peanut butter flavors. If you buy one, they also donate one to a dog at a local shelter. All proceeds go to Norfolk Animal Care and the Norfolk SPCA.In addition to hot dogs, they serve burgers, custard shakes, jumbo sized cookies from the Wigglebutt Cookie Company, and a number of sides that includes jumbo dill pickles, fries, onion petals, and others.Happy Puppy Hour is held daily from 2 pm to 5 pm, during which you can get 2 Puppy Pittie dogs, a small order of fries, and a drink for $9.99, including tax.Their hot dogs are charbroiled Sabrett Beef Hot Dogs. They offer a regular sized Pittie Dog, a larger sized quarter pound Pittie Dog, and a foot long Pittie Dog, all with a natural casing. Their smaller Puppy Pittie Dog is skinless. After three lunch time visits, I have tried the following:CHICAGO DOGS: Poppy Seed Bun with Yellow Mustard, Sweet Neon Relish, Tomatoes, Diced Onions, Pickle Spear, Sport Peppers, and Celery Salt.I ordered two of these in their regular Pittie Dog size. I have never tried an actual Chicago Dog from Chicago, but these were the best versions of the Chicago Dog I have ever tried in this area. The Sabrett dogs delivered a nice snap and flavor. The flavors of all of the other ingredients came together beautifully, and I especially loved the sweet neon relish, sport peppers, and celery salt. My Rating: 5 Stars.BLOODY MARY DOGS: These are not on their regular menu, but were featured as a special addition on a recent Sunday. They were described as follows on their Facebook page:"Any Pittie Dog with Diced Tomatoes, Pico, Pepper Relish, a Pickle Spear, and our Homemade Bloody Mary Sauce from the NuLand Hot Sauce Company, Mr. Picklesworth's Dill Pickle Hot Sauce, and other secret ingredients."The combination of ingredients intrigued me, and I was able to get them to make me a couple during a weekday visit. The Bloody Mary flavor came through nicely and was further enhanced by all the other ingredients.I ordered them in the Puppy Pittie size by mistake, which come skinless without the "snap" of the others. I will order them again during a future visit in their regular Pittie Dog size. Their flavors came together beautifully for an exhilarating taste experience. My Rating: 5 Stars. NORFOLK DOGS: These are described on their menu as "Mustard and Onions on the bottom and Hot Dog Chili on the top." I ordered two of them. The Norfolk Dog was first invented by George Bacali, a Greek immigrant who began to serve his hot dogs in 1934 at Bacali's Hot Dogs on City Hall Avenue in downtown Norfolk. Mustard, onion, and hot dog chili are the only ingredients. The Norfolk Dog later made its way to Tony's Hot Dogs on Lafayette Boulevard in Norfolk, led by Tony Mirable and his wife. His three sons later carried on the tradition with hot dog spots on their own with their family recipe. These Norfolk Dogs were made with the Hormel brand "snap dogs", which were discontinued in January of 2019. The Sabrett version does not give me quite the snap as the original Hormel version, but they are snappy enough. The charbroiled taste of the Sabrett dogs and the flavors of the mustard and hot dog chili came through nicely. If I can make one suggestion, it would be to show at least a little bit of the mustard and onions on top for greater eye appeal. I have an old photo of two Norfolk Dogs from Tony's Hot Dogs that show a drizzle of mustard on top with specks of onions on the buns. My Rating: 4.5 Stars.CHOCOLATE CUSTARD SHAKE WITH WHIPPED CREAM: This was my dessert treat during one of my visits, and this one blew me away with an explosion of flavor and texture. I loved the creamy custard texture and the swirls of chocolate inside, topped off by the light and airy whipped cream. My Rating: 5 Stars. This review comes with a well-deserved 5-star rating. The Pittie Dog Grill has brought my long lost love affair with the All-American hot dog back to life, and I am looking forward to my future visits."
"Our server was very nice and provided us very quick service. The food was delivered right away, and our drinks were never empty. We do not eat hotdogs very often, but enjoy their hotdogs as our favorite. We tried the bratwurst with sauerkraut, which was delicious. As well as the sweet potato waffle fries which were amazing.we will be back when we can! Thank you for such great service and delicious food."
"Famous Uncle Al's is one of the only breakfast places that provide an American classic breakfast sandwich for dining in or on the go on Granby Street. Living/working downtown I'm typically in a rush in the mornings. I can always count on Famous Uncle Al's to make a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on an everything bagel sandwich for me. They have Daily Specials and offer not only breakfast but lunch menu items as well.Uncle Al's offers call ahead if they are not busy or online ordering. The staff is always so friendly and quick with the orders! The restaurant is clean and organized! Parking is street parking but you can find a spot during the early mornings."
"Excellent place. Clean, friendly and warm environment. Excellent food! Small family owned. Great staff"

This is a must go-to for your burger needs! Viking has been on my radar for a while and finally had the chance to stop by, and it lived up to the hype! First off excellent customer service. The guy behind the counter answered all of our questions as well as brought out samples of two of their sauces for my husband to try to see how spicy they were. My husband got the Valhalla burger stuffed with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños and had the spicy sauce all over it. It hit his spice palette and he ate the whole thing. Also got their fries. Very good fresh cut fries! I got a single patty with American cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato and pickle! It hit the spot and was delicious. Tried my combo with onion rings and they were good but I just didn't prefer the seasoning they used on them. Will be back to try more of their Viking burgers!

I love this place! One of my all time places to eat in Norfolk. I will say, had I gone to ODU I would've packed on the freshman 50 not the freshman 15. Everything on the menu is good. The staff is friendly, food is great, and atmosphere is just what you'd expect for a college mainstay. My only gripe is I tend to crave it right before it closes and I'm somewhere I can't make it in time. It's like wanting Chick-fil-a on Sunday.

Second time, but over a year or more in between. It's very far for me. Located in the Redmill Commons with adequate surface parking that was clean. They do not have road visibility, so could be a bit of a search the first time. The signage on the building easily identifies them and it's much bigger than you would expect. A large bar and table and chairs. Everything was extremely clean. Service was almost immediate. Menus are left on the table. They do more than dogs, but that is their specialty on a simple straight forward type of offering. Order was two snap dogs just short of all the way holding onions and added fries. Water to drink, but they dog have fountain. Pepsi products. The meal was delivered within around 10 minutes and looked great and was indeed. The Boars Head hot dogs were quality as was the chili. The right amount of mustard was applied. Ketchup was delivered with their yum crinkle fries. The checkout upfront by probably the owner was speedy and even a 10% new customer discount checking into Yelp. Solid 4 and would recommend as well as love to return.

This place took my by surprise my first bite. I was not expecting this. Fast but fresh! As this was my first time I was a little lost but it was easily explained by the friendly staff "Sit in your car and turn on your hazards and someone will be w you". They were friendly and fast. It almost feels like this place should be a drive in.

FRIENDLY REMINDER : BRING CASH - CASH ONLY. Food was affordable and so delicious. The service was personable and made great recommendations. And the environment is cute and feels like going back in time to a small town diner. Fantastic, will be coming back for more! Clean plates all around.

Quick service for a good hot dog at a no-frills place. Friendly staff and you can definitely tell there are some regulars. Place gets busy around lunch time. Was somewhat expecting a menu with speciality hot dog (Chicago dog, etc.) but nope, it's just a list of available toppings. Not much healthy here but a good hot dog!

We headed over after a trip to the Botanical Gardens. We will definitely be back. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had two regular dogs, a chili cheese dog, the NC dog, the sweet potato fries, the sidewinder fries and some special sauce - which was great. We had a cookies and cream shake and a kids mint shake. We look forward to coming back to try some other things. The man taking our order was kind and helpful and the lady cooking and topping the dogs was friendly and kind! Great place!!

"After an unsuccessful trip to Colonial Williamsburg where the workers at the courthouse and apothecary denied me service based on my service dog, I decided to eat off of the Colonial Williamsburg tourist trap. It was the best decision! The hit dogs, bbq pork, Mac and cheese and especially the Hazy IPA! Wow, so good! The workers and clientele were nice, too!"
"The staff was friendly and the wait time was not that long. The fried pickles were good and the firecracker hot dog was also good. It's nice place you can hangout with your friends."
"Simple , quick & never misses . Food is always hot & fresh . Casual setting & easy pick me up when craving a chili cheese dog ! Love them . Sweet potato fries are a must."
"Nice folks that work here! I've been wanting to try this place and now that I have I can say it was good. The hot dogs were of quality, I had a polish sausage and it was good, but it's just good. Nothing really stood out to me. I was totally shocked by how little of hot dog toppings they offered as well. They have some different ones like nacho cheese and sauerkraut but I was expecting a vast selection of toppings because it is a hot dog place. Also on my polish sausage I expected it to be topped pretty heavily with my toppings like with big grilled onions and lots of relish but I had to ask for extra. They go very light."
"best hot dogs in virginia beach & beyond! love their fries too and their grilled cheeses and their ham burgers"
"Burgers tasted very good. Well executed hand smashed patties. Patties were about 1/4# smashed thin. They cooked fast and filled the bun.Fries were frozen.Everything is a la Carte: $0.25 lettuce, $0.25 tomato, etc. So my Classic Double Burger with lettuce and tomato was $10.50.Think Five Guys with a better burger, and Hardee's fries."
"I LOVE this place! The customer service is amazing, the hot dogs I love the spicy NY pork all the way dog, and the fries with salt! And the chili add cheese! Pretty fast and fresh! Check them out!"
"Love this place. Their BLT never fails. And an all the way dog is outstanding ding. I'm from Michigan and there are a ton of coney places there. Uncle Als can hang."
"Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Great variety of hotdogs and both that I tried were delicious. My favorite was the bandito but the bacon wrapped lord of the rings dog was really good too. The fried pickles were also cooked perfectly with a great breading. For a cheap price, I was a huge fan. I will be coming back."
"I have been coming here for a long time! Let's just say the first time I came here, I couldn't spell hot dog or any other word!I know they have been around since the late 1960s. Danny was a Greek gentleman and proprietor of the restaurant. The chili sauce is his recipe and it's absolutely the BEST you will ever taste!!The current owners have had Danny's since the mid-90s. They bought the original chili recipe and are serving it up still today. The delicious chili takes 7 hours to cook up!The menu has grown over the years, but I am a diehard for the chili dogs! Brings back such good memories of family and being a kid Whenever I am back in Virginia Beach I have to swing in for some loveYou can eat inside or stay in the car for curbside service. Either way - you will Love it!Also...it is a family run business. They absolutely care about what they do and they're carrying on the tradition of Danny's great food and service"
"Cute, quaint little restaurant. I always order to go but I get the hot sausage "all the way" with fries and it is absolutely delicious! If you're in Norfolk I definitely recommend. It's good and affordable but don't forget to bring CASH! That's their only form of payment."
"College kids always have the best places to eat and the Dawg Shack by ODU is on that list. The hot dogs were tasty and had that snap that I remembered from living in Germany. The grill cheese was cooked just right and who could resist tater tots. My only let down was the onion rings/fries half and half, I only received three rings. The service was simple yet very effective and the staff always available to serve. The restaurant has a Happy Days vibe, but with up to date music playing. Even on a holiday they were busy so it definitely has its regulars. Great simple comfort food."
"Pleasantly surprised! Stopped in after reading reviews and both the wife and I were extremely happy with our choice. The hotdogs were good chili giid personally I prefer a little more heat. Coleslaw nice and fresh. Wife was happy with her cheeseburger these are the little flat hockey puck burgers not a Red Robin or Kelly's. We call them mom and pop burgers seems the only place you see them anymore older mom and pop stops. Only thing that disappointed was the fries in just not a crinkle cut fun and they only take cash. I dont mind then only taking cash but I wish it was advertised better I just never think to ask anymore. Luckily the wife had cash on her since I almost never do. If your close by stop in I think you will be happy with your lunch choice."
"Just a simple down to earth mom and pop hot dog shop. This is a quaint little spot in downtown Suffolk with good food, good service, what more can you ask for?"
"5 star chili dog. Has everything required to be good: soft fresh bun, homemade chili and an atmosphere that screams "good chili dogs made here". Stop driving by this blue collar joint and pop in sometime. Crunchy ice with the drinks took a four star experience to five. Bring cash."
"Food is always decent, can't really complain other than the lemon pepper wings sometimes being too salty. The food is made to order so it's always fresh and hot!"
"I love a good Hot Dog and Bill's Hot Dogs 2 sells some of the best in the area. They are the tough skin kind that gives you the crunchy mouthfeel that is the mark of any good hotdog. The Chilli is very good as well. I like mine with mustard, onions and chili, I'm kind of a traditionalist in that regard.Check out Bill's Hot Dogs if you're in the area, you'll be happy that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community."
"My husband and I had lunch at this establishment today. The owners are very cordial, professional and friendly. We were greeted upon arrival and told the daily special, which the both of us ordered. The hotdogs were cooked perfectly and the toppings were pretty tasty. I requested the combo with crispy fries and I must say they were cooked and seasoned very well. They have poetry on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, the next one July 7th. They also have a live band that performs, I just don't know the days. If you're in the area and want a good hotdog, stop by and pay them a visit. Currently they're only offering beef hotdogs in the daytime with hopes to possibly expand the menu in the future. During the evening events a different menu is available. It was definitely worth our visit."
