The Cottage Shop is a fairly large store consisting of tasteful home decor and gifts. Many items are beach themed but there is plenty of cool and cute stuff for (in)land lovers too. Here are the types of things you can expect to find at The Cottage Shop:- linens like tea towels, hook rugs and bedspreads- home decor like candles, artwork and Fiestaware- scarves, flip flops and jewelry- drinkware like Tervis, Yeti and decorative wine glasses- Christmas ornaments - stuffed animals and toys for little ones- greeting cardsYou can also expect a friendly staff! This is a great place to get a gift for someone else or yourself!"

Lisa G. "This Homegoods is NOT at all like my Homegoods... meaning it's not as crowded with merchandise (but still well-stocked), it's not as crowded with people, and things don't (necessarily) go in the blink of an eye. I was in town on an early Friday night, and the store was EMPTY. Friday late afternoon and early evening in my store is swamped because people want to see what's new. By the end of the day Saturday, whatever you wanted Friday and didn't get is gone!I saw a cabinet on Friday that I made myself a deal with -- if I came back after work Saturday afternoon and it was still there, I'd get it. Well, it was. So I did. Yay!There was second piece that I was eyeballing... it was waiting for a customer to pick up when I got back Saturday!"

Courtney K. "Bottom Line: Small shop with seashells and Wanchese apparel. This shop looks so fun and beachy from the outside and I have been curious about it for years. I recently finally stepped in to do a little exploring this August. The retail store has shells, more shells, driftwood, nautical home decor, some jewelry, small gifts and Wanchese apparel. By Wanchese apparel I mean t-shirts and such paying homage to the charming fishing village. I was expecting local shells but it seems a lot of them were from overseas. Everything was so nicely labeled with the type of shell and the origin - I really appreciate those details. The retail store is just a small portion of their building as I believe the core of their business is being a wholesaler. The business participates in various trade shows throughout the year and retailers can sign up for wholesale accounts. Overall this was a neat stop in the quaint village of Wanchese."

They have decor, jewelry, limited clothing, limited children's items, pillows, some furniture and many great gift items. Farmhouse vibes for sure! Heather was helpful while I shopped. She greeted me when I walked in and informed me of any sales they had. She then just let me shop to my hearts content. Michael M. "You don't need to be the "antique-y" type to enjoy browsing this store and its eclectic selection of unique items from furniture to jewelry. As I perused the roughly 1,000 square-foot store, I sub-consciously likened the experience to that of walking through Haynes or other similar home furnishings store where they accessorize a particular area of the store to make it feel like you're actually in a specific area of a furnished house. In the case of this business, some sections will flash you back to a 19th century bedroom. The owner clearly thought through the whole product presentation element. Despite having a ton of stuff, you never felt cramped nor did you have to walk gingerly through the store to avoid accidentally bumping in to things. That said, if you have small children, keep an eye on them. Two ladies run the store and both are as friendly as they come. They do estate sales as well.Come check out the store. Easy to find. Right next to the Great Bridge on North Battlefield. New treasures await!"

From llamas to mile stone adult parties- their products won't make your party feel straight out of a 90's Party City catalog. It's Instagram and 2021 ready. This stuff is quality! It's goes way beyond the classic party vibe and elevates your celebrations to an event and experience for everyone involved. They also can make custom decorations like balloon arches and custom wall cut outs. If you've got a theme they can work with you to recommend the best product combinations to bring your party to life! Most recently I came here for my boyfriend's 39th birthday and was able to find the perfect combination of items to make the celebration feel like an experience and was perfect for the man who "hates birthday parties" who is dating someone who plans events as part of her job."

Courtney K. "Bottom Line: One of my favorite stores in the Outer Banks and the closest thing to a treasure chest on the barrier islands. This updated review is loooong overdue. I love Seagreen Gallery and I'm the proud owner of many finds from this store that sells salvaged items, antiques, repurposed items and hand crafted items. My all time favorite find is my string of lights made from tumbled wine and beer bottle necks - I have several strings and they make me so happy! I've also collected a Coca-cola crate, flowers made from old maps, picture frames, various art pieces, stickers, coral, old telephone insulators, cork fishing floats, driftwood with decoupaged vintage photos and a whole bunch of other stuff. The decor of my home in Maryland is somewhere between traditional and transitional so I didn't initially think the eclectic Seagreen Gallery would be for me but it absolutely is! On every visit to Nags Head this is one of my must-go places. In addition to neat items the staff is always friendly and I appreciate that they are taking COVID seriously by requiring a mask to be worn and providing hand sanitizer."

What better place to visit and spend some money than a place that is noted for having ornaments.I have been to one of these while on vacation in the Outer Banks, so this was not a mystery for me. I still do not understand how someone can work in here year round and still remain sane. It just baffles me that you don't go crazy listening to and dealing with Christmas year round. You are a strong person to be able to work in here.I browsed while I was in here before decided on what to get. I have to say that it will take you forever to go through here. There is an upstairs that overlooks the downstairs which is equally filled with ornaments. As a side note, they do carry a small amount of items that deal with other holidays/seasons but it is obviously overshadowed by Christmas here.Once you do make a selection make your way down to the register area and be helped by the wonderful staff here. The lady that helped me here was amazingly kind. She took time to chat with me and wrap every ornament I both separately, as if I was to hand out small gifts to the people I had bought them for. My mom & I had a girls day Christmas shopping and stopped in here after perusing some other nearby shops. This is located toward the back of a shopping center right near the Locks Bridge. On a busy day, parking here is at a premium as there are many other restaurants and stores in the center. Many spots are monopolized now for curbside pickup at neighboring shops. As soon as you walk into Refreshed, you're overwhelmed by the beautiful blues and whites of coastal decor. It's eye candy, for sure! The staff greeted us right away, asked if we were looking for anything special, and were readily available if we had questions. They offer hand sanitizer at the front door and let you know that they require masks. The 3 staff members we saw all wore masks during our entire visit. They carry Simply Southern clothing and accessory items and have some unique beachy gifts for everyone. I even found some stocking stuffers for my decidedly non-beachy husband (flavored popcorn for the win!). I loved venturing in - I wish I had sooner - and got some great ideas for other family members future gifts. This place is a gem!"

Ann C. "I found this "company" on a Google search for motorized blinds and drapes. We have a brand-new built home at the beach needed all windows treated with motorized blinds and drapes, we are thinking a $25-30,000 job. We made an appointment with Kirk's wife for Thursday at 3 PM explaining to her that we had to leave the island to go for a doctor's appointment but that we should be back by 3 PM and she said, "No worries. If you find you're going to be late just email us and let us know." At 2:25 PM we emailed to let them know we would be 10 minutes late as our doctor's appointment ran longer than expected. At 2:55 PMKirk called us and said, "we have a 3 o'clock appointment, where are you?" We explained that as we told his wife, we were on our way back from a doctor's appointment which ran considerably longer than expected and as his wife had advised us, we had emailed letting him know that we would be 10 minutes late. He huffed and puffed and hung up, apparently not having read his email. We arrived home at 3:11 PM and no budget blinds. A card was stuck in our door. At 3:44 PM Kirk returns to our home and rings the bell. I answered the door. He does not say a word, doesn't say hello, doesn't identify himself, nothing. Feeling quite uncomfortable with him, I asked if he was Kirk, and he said yes. Witnessing a bad attitude, I asked him if he was having a bad day. His response: "Well, I've been riding around all afternoon losing money with you." I responded, "Well, I can make that better for you or worse for you." He stopped in his tracks, turned around, headed for the exit, and said sarcastically, "Have a nice day." Really? All because we were going to be 10 minutes late and ended up being 11 minutes late? When we had originally told them that we might be late and that was OK during our phone call with his wife. But apparently not with Kirk. My question is how the hell does he stay in business?? Rude. Bad business."

There is something about a forest of heavily decorated fake trees that I find truly mesmerizing. They even had an entire tree dedicated to the unicorn theme and I really regret not getting a photo of it. The huge selection of ornaments is mostly organized by theme, with some exceptions like the Olde World Christmas ornaments which I recall being all together. A lot of the ornaments are from familiar brands and I wish they had more that was locally made in the Outer Banks. Overall, it was fun wondering around this large store but I didn't add anything to my collection on this visit.
