"Visited Orapax for the first time for a corporate team dinner and was very impressed! Loved how warm and welcoming the ambiance was and the small lights on the table made it very easy to see the menu. There was a few minutes left for Happy Hour (Happy Hour ends at 6!) and I ordered the Rosemary fries, a half dozen of Pegasus wings (they were so good!) and a small Greek salad. For the size of our party, all of the food arrived in a timely manner and was perfect- the tempeture was great, serving size was great. No complaints at all. To wrap up the night, I finished with a warm brownie sundae topped with vanilla ice cream with drizzled caramel and chocolate syrup. 10/10. I found a new hidden gem!"
"Was visiting from out of Town and my wife suggested Greek food for dinner. Arrived around 6pm and was seated immediately in an almost full dining room. Our waitress, Gizem, brought us water quickly and introduced herself. As the menu has authentic dishes I had some questions which Gizen answered before ordering. My wife ordered her usual gyro sandwich which came pretty good size. She was surprised the meat did not appear to come from a usual lamb/beef spit. I ordered a dish named patichio which is layered crumbled beef, penne noodle and a custard topping and then baked. I did not enjoy my meal. I wish there would have been a little more beef and less custard topping. Our service was good, atmosphere was nice, staff are friendly. Upon entry there are displays of Greek oils, sauces and such for sale as well as a nice display of desserts. We grabbed a couple desserts to take back to our hotel and a gallon of imported olive oil for home. There is sufficient on-site parking. If in area again this could be another stop."

"This is a unique fast food experience with indoor seating and a drive thru that serves greek and American foods in their menu. We ordered two greek bowls with greek fries and it did not disappoint. For one, the drive through experience was very pleasant, with a very kind and upbeat lady taking orders which is a rarity in most fast food drive throughs. The fries we got were fresh and piping hot, and had a good crunch to them. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite to eat!"
"On vacation, and after a long cold morning of outdoor hiking, my daughter decided she wanted to try and find a greek restaurant. She had a taste for something in particular and this place had it. This is a typical looking strip mall cafe, but they have embraced the Grecian vibe and it was clean and roomy. We had the place to ourselves (it was a cold Monday afternoon), but there was a constant carry out business going on. Service was great of course, since we had the waiter all to ourselves. We ordered Spanakopita (my daughter's craving) and grape leaves off the appetizer menu and then split a gyro. All very good, tasty and authentic. I recommend this place for a casual meal and I would visit again if I'm ever in the neighborhood."
"If you love good Mediterranean cuisine, check out Istanbul Gyro & Kebab located just off Brambleton Avenue across the street from the Scope in the heart of downtown Norfolk. These guys are doing it right. They are serving up authentic Mediterranean food that will absolutely amaze you. I'm a big fan of their Kebabs, especially the kind served in the warm pita bread and topped with Taziki sauce. It's so yummy, I don't know the words to describe it."
"I ordered the Pick 2 - side salad and wrap. I paid to upgrade my salad choice and to get a premium wrap. My side salad choice was the peasant salad with balsamic and EVOO dressing, and it was huge and included cucumber, red onion, romaine, tomato, and feta. This salad was so fresh! The premium wrap I chose was the chicken tawook wrap and I added extra chicken. The chicken was seasoned and marinated nicely and the wrap had cabbage, tomatoes, pickles, parsley and a touch of mama Lina dressing. The wrap is served warm, too! So good! They also make pizzas, burgers, soups, gyros, and several desserts. They also offer a lot of gluten free options!"
"Great food and a casual atmosphere. Love the Pizza, Greek salad and New Yorker deli sandwich"

The food choices are great! A wide menu from pizza to hummus. By the way their hummus is fantastic! One of the best I have ever tasted. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The restaurant is big and it can fill up quickly. What an icon in Norfolk. Highly recommended for a great dinner!

Wasn't up for an entree, so shamelessly planned my meals around dessert. It's casual dining but not the diner experience like some of the Greek places I have gone to in the past. Tasteful decor and attentive service. Not enough pictures, but we had saganaki and avgolemono soup. ...like I said my focus was on the dessert. I opted for a toffee, caramel, peanut, chocolate mousse thing-pictured.Great experience overall.

It's been quite some time since I've been here pre Covid era. I had the lamb kabobs gyro and hummus. I remember the hummus tasting better but it was fine just not like before the lamb was cooked well on a flat top.

Come early for lunch because it will be busy! Great food at reasonable prices with pleasant and prompt service. The market has so many tempting foods. Try their baklava. The signature pizza was perfect for a hot summers day with the grilled chicken gyro. Delicious!

I had an amazing experience at this Greek spot! The food was absolutely delicious--perfectly seasoned chicken, fresh toppings, and a soft, warm pita that brought so much happiness to the gyro. The homemade tzatziki was a standout--so fresh and flavorful, it really elevated the entire meal. The house made chips were my favorite as well. The Greek fries were okay. We liked the seasoning on them but the fries themselves left much to be desired. I don't think it detracts from the rating though. The chips made up for it!The service was top-notch; the staff was friendly and super sweet. The ambiance is classic diner style, where you order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. It's casual and laid-back, making it a great spot for a quick, satisfying meal. I'll definitely be back!

I have been three times and have been very pleased three times. The menu is great, the service is great and the food is great. I've had the king Leonidas gyro and the gyro bowl. Both options are tasty and have a good amount of gyro meat. I recommend purchasing extra meat if you opt for the rice bowl. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a gyro and a greek style food.

"The food is amazing! The level of customer service is always a plus for me.. anytime that I come up to Williamsburg this is a must for me!!!"
"My first time at the Hilltop location. The Hilltop location has plenty of parking and is well lit inside. Staff was friendly and expeditious. I had dinner with a friend and family, we all enjoyed our respective dishes. I had the chicken tawook which was plentiful and had a hint of vinegar. The chocolate cake was rich, huge and delicious. I had to take the rest home. Their garlic fries are tasty and savory."
"We came for the Brunch - NOT!Don't claim you serve brunch if you don't even have tea or a cup of hot water. They only have luke warm caffeinated coffee. This is a drunk's sports bar that serves (choke)food. Hence, the reason for caffeinated-only coffee. The micro brunch menu doesn't even appear on their website - (now I know why) Since the Brunch offering was so horrific we decided to drop back ten yards & puntHow can you go wrong with Burgers, they were terrible! We were offered pink and they were more crucified than a McDonalds single. Grease was the burger's only flavor. The French fries were shoveled out anemic, limp & cold. The waitress was friendly & commiserative when she heard our meal displeasure. Even if she told management our dismay - not a Nickle was removed from the bill. Yah know in a town full of restaurants starving for good help this young woman should change jobs."
"Decided to go here on Tuesday with my co workers. Someone recommended this place to me so I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! We went around 12noon and there were only about 6 people there. We were seated right away of course. The place has a nice vibe to it. It has nice decor as well. I went to the bathroom before we ordered and it did need some work but not bad. The waiter was very informative and sweet. They place had an old country feel to it. I ordered a fish sandwich and it was delicious! The fish was fried to perfection and the fries were home made. They had the most tastiest tarter sauce I've ever had, it was from scratch and FANTASTIC! They need to bottle it and sell it. This place is down the street from Naval Station Norfolk which is where I work so very convenient. My friends food all looked delicious as well. They had a mimosa menu but we didn't try and but they sounded great. Overall this place is amazing! Try it you won't be disappointed."
"Not a bad experience for the 15 minutes I was there Sunday evening. A definite small spot suited for the college campus. I visited there as part of an event so was treated to a few samples of their various offering: pizza, pasta, and nachos. Meh all around but I really wasn't expecting too much. The nice thing about this place is the covered room on the right side of the building. They had the windows open (or maybe rolled up) and with it being a nice night, made for a nice covered outdoor atmosphere. Parking can be tight but if you're a college student, stroll on over for a few drinks."
"Vancostas is back! They found some new staff and brought back Billy, who seems to be the new manager! Yes, Moe and Steph are still the owners. The food is as good as ever. If anything, letting Billy move up seems to have expanded the menu a little. New dishes keep popping up based on whatever is in season. Always check the specials board and ask the server what's new. New dishes seem to rotate, so if it looks good grab it while you can! Last time I went everyone was raving about the meat loaf, but I'm more into the grilled fish and potato wedges. The interior hasn't really changed. A few things have been patched up, but the age of the building definitely shows. Ignore the 1950's bathroom and focus on the cheap and tasty food. I know I do."
"Snookered once again! Two days ago I had just left Colonial Pie Company, and was on my way to Pho 79, with my order firmly in mind, when I stumbled across GP. Small, tidy building. Inside, it was clean and perky. I browsed a menu for about 5 minutes, then ordered a Lamb Gyro and a Greek Salad. While I was waiting, I noticed a very eye-catching box of Ouzo hard candy. It was primarily a beautiful Cycladic blue, so I guess it qualifies as eye candy, $4.95. I thought that was a bit much for a 300g box, but I purchased it, and later found the same product on Amazon ($9.55), Walmart ($5.99), Greekmarket ($6.25). So $4.95 at the Gyro Palace is great... plus no shipping costs!Fifteen minutes later I was headed home, drooling. At home, I set aside the Greek Salad, because that will easily stay fresh for a few hours. Gyro time! The Gyro was primed with a tasty Tzatziki sauce, and had an additional cup of Tzatziki sauce (at least I believe they were the same) on the side. It was a very good Lamb Gyro. Weighing in at 14.7 ounces, it was perhaps not the best LG I've had, but still worth repeating. I ate half on Sunday, and set aside half for the next day. Then the Greek Salad (Iceberg lettuce, Tomatoes, Bermuda Onion, Kalamata Olives with Pits, Feta, Cukes, Green Pepper.) That's the way to do a Greek Salad! Abundant Feta! The only thing I found disturbing about the GS was the Kalamata Olives which had an odd (to my palate) taste. Not a bad taste at all, just not what I was used to. So I paused mid-salad to eat all the olives by themselves. Then resumed with the leafy stuff.I can't wait to return! So many Greek and American dishes I want to try!"
"Ordered 2 pizzas, 1 was 6 toppings (the bomb), the other, xtra cheese(double bomb) for delivery and was not disappointed. Excellent pizza and delivery was right on time and pizzas were still hot! Glad we had the opportunity to have something that was tasty for a change! Definitely will be doing it again!"
"I love the people. This restaurant is so nice and the have the best food. You can tell everything is made from scratch and has the freshest ingredients. My go to is the chicken Greek salad but their cheesesteaks don't miss either. Definitely a 10/10 must try!"
