"The hubs and I were in the Williamsburg area in search of a cold sweet treat. We've gotten accustomed to shaved ice on the islands, but on the mainland the ice is more coarse. Thankfully yelp helped us locate this local shop offering snow cones to cool off on this hot humid day. They have a small parking lot, but don't be discouraged the turnover rate is high as customers brought their treats into their cars and left. There is a plethora of flavors to choose from. I was trying to be somewhat mindful of calories, so I chose the sugar free dreamsicle. Vanilla and orange flavors mixed sounded like a dream:) The hubs ordered the spongebob which included mango, lemon-lime, and lemonade. But then we both saw the sign of ultimate "stuffed" snowball. :::eyes widened::: Calories went out the door, and I ordered mine stuffed while his was ultimate stuffed lol. The difference was condensed milk and marshmallow fluff in the bottom. We both had the ice cream in the center of our snowball and a soft serve on top. Ingenious concept and it was very refreshing. I ordered a regular stuffed and they were very generous to fill it to the top, to the point of adding an additional cup to support all the cold juices. This is worth checking out and great for the little ones. Support local!"
"Been rocking with this place way back when they were just a food truck. Came in yesterday to try the smoked fried wings for first time. They were cooked to perfection. Crispy on outside and flavorful. Fries were just standard but still tasty. I did try a slice of sweet potato poundcake...I was not a fan of that AT ALL.Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was nice and clean. Great parking."

"The best Latin breakfast in town! Quick friendly service, great hot sauces made in house, and speedy delivery of delicious food. Worth a visit!"
"I pass this location quite a bit but I have not had a chance to stop until today. Don't let the unassuming appearance of this mobile restaurant fool you...the food is AMAZING. Since moving to VA I have eaten at my fair share of BBQ joints. The problem I usually run into is that I either like the BBQ and not the sides, or I like the sides and not the BBQ. That was not the case here. I actually finished everything I ordered. Do yourself a favor and stop here for a bite."
"Authentic Mexican street food is not only hard to come by but also hard to beat. This food truck holds true to that notion for sure.I thought everything I had was delicious. The carne asada tacos had plenty of veggies and the elote (one of my favorite foods ever!) was smothered in all the good stuff. I only had about a 5 minute drive home to eat, but I guess that was enough to make the corn tortillas soggy. It ripped apart at the first bite, so I had to fork my way through the meal. My lime was dried out, and the strawberries in my strawberries and cream cup still had some green stems and leaves. The staff was friendly and the service was quick, even with a line. I was debating between 4 and 5 stars for this one, but overall I think they're an excellent addition to the food truck scene here. I would be escatic to see them at a brewery sometime. I would love to go back and try more of their menu items. I think it's great that they have so many options, especially vegan!"
"This is our go-to spot when we're craving oxtails and beef patties. The oxtails fall off the bone and have great flavor. My mother-in-law is from Jamaica and she said the oxtails taste just like her mom used to make. We recently tried their Rasta pasta and also fell in love. It has a little spice but we loved it! Dexter, the owner, is super nice and is always working hard around the clock. All the staff is super friendly everytime we stop in. This is a to-go place and parking is tight but they are always quick to get your food ready. Highly recommend!"
"Based upon the jam packed overflowing crowd I encountered last Sunday, this small Brazilian style storefront eatery may very well prove to be the little restaurant that could. It all began as a food truck that made a successful opening day debut at the International Food Festival in Hampton during the summer of 2016. This led to the owner's dream of finding her own brick and mortar location, which was finally fulfilled when she opened one in Norfolk this past August. Her dream brought her to a location in the Riverview section of Granby Street, partially housed in a former convenience store beside the recently closed Barking Dog, and directly across the street from the French Delicatessen and Bakery. Parking can be scarce. If I don't see a space, I usually pull into the McDonald's several feet away and swing around to the back of the building, where there have always been plenty of spaces available. The owner is from Brazil, where her family also owns a restaurant, and uses some of her grandmother's recipes. It is her mission to introduce the area to the more traditional style of Brazilian cuisine that was reminiscent of the 1950s.The decor has a distinctive 1950s feel as well. There is an antique radio in the corner of the customer counter. An old-fashioned pay phone and coffee maker are visible behind the food counter. Their coffee is brewed from beans fresh daily from Tidewater Coffee.Candy jars rest on the food counter, one of which includes a huge chocolate bar from Lacta, a Brazilian chocolate manufacturer, which I will try during my next visit. During my last visit, I counted seven two-seated metallic chairs inside. Four seats are available at the counter against the wall. Most of their tables and chairs are still outside, which were quite busy over the summer. After four visits, I have tried the following:BEEF AND CHICKEN EMPANADAS: I ordered one of each and was blown away. They were served piping hot with a thin flaky crust, plump and juicy with their shredded beef and chicken fillings. When it comes to empanadas, I've never had better. My Rating: 5 Stars.PRATO DE FRANGO: A large platter consisting of savory chunks of chicken with black beans, fried plantains, and white rice. This dish was very tasty, well seasoned, and very filling. It could have been just a little hotter temperature wise. My Rating: 4 Stars.FEIJOADA: A Brazilian Black Bean Stew with Black Beans, Bacon, Smoked Sausages, Ham Hock, Neck Bone, Collard Greens, Orange Slices, Yucca Flour Crumbles, and White Rice. This is regarded as the national dish of Brazil, and I've enjoyed it twice so far, with the first time in September and the second time last Sunday. It is only available during the weekends at this time. Let it suffice to say that it is incredibly delicious. My Rating: 5 Stars. Some of their current menu offerings seem to stray a bit from their Brazilian reservation. Their Smoked Kielbasa plate is one example. Kielbasa is a type of sausage originating from Poland and the Ukraine. What gives it a Brazilian touch are the black beans that come with it.They also offer Beef and Chicken Strogonoff, which are traditional Russian dishes. Their version which comes with two starches, namely rice and fries. Their daily breakfast offerings currently include eggs, waffles, pancakes, bacon, and sausage, which strike me as more American than Brazilian. They also offer a Philly Cheese Steak.I believe the owner is trying to establish a solid customer base with a few American and international favorites while gradually introducing her customers to more traditional Brazilian fare. Based upon the increasing customer volume I have witnessed during the past few months, it appears to be working. This restaurant also functions as a bakery, with many of their offerings featured almost daily on their Facebook page. Among them are Pao de Queijo, a traditional Brazilian cheese bread, Sonhos, which are popular Brazilian cream filled puff pastries, and Caramel and Nutella flavored Churros. A wide assortment of desserts is also available from their display cases, which has included corn pudding, corn pudding, flan, and a number of others. One minor issue I have with their current service policy is that water is only available by the bottle. Paying two dollars for a bottle of water doesn't quite agree with me, and I hope they reconsider this one.During my next visit, I want to try one of their Coxinhas, a popular street food in Brazil that consists of chicken meat molded inside batter fried dough resembling a chicken leg or tear drop. For yet another future visit, I am hoping that they will eventually introduce Moqueca, a traditional Brazilian fish stew to their menuI regard the Taste of Brazil as a work in progress and one that is still peaking. They have been making great strides so far, and I am looking forward to my future visits, and perhaps an upgrade to a 5-star rating sometime next year."

The absolute best snowcone in the area that is more slush style than the fluffy light ice variety. They had a great list of flavors, but I highly suggest trying the stuffed version and any size is the best. Parking is a bit tight, but you can short park at the lot by the pancake shop next door. Altho not recommended, but at least your not sharking for a spot. The service is quick and thy have an order in and carry out window which they'll call your name for order pick up.Come grab a taste of an icy adventure your tastebuds will thank you!

Bbq was just okay. Nothing to wow about. This is mainly a takeout place. The name makes the place seem like it would be cozy with booths and low lighting but it's not.

Parking is very limited at this location, I saw that you can park on the other side of the restaurant but I am unsure if that's ok due to it being in another lot. Inside this place was really clean and well maintained. Found out that they had opened this restaurant in January. They cook everything fresh so if you are waiting for something quick you'll be waiting at least 10-20mins or more depending on how full this place gets. I got the Hangry Beer Burrito, it had a lot of flavor the burrito came straight from the grill so it was nice and hot. They have some homemade salsa and it was very delicious. My only complaint was how expensive the burrito is, anything else with the burrito is an additional add on so the burrito does not come with anything else for a $16 burrito that's kinda expensive.

Have you ever awakened on a Saturday reminiscing about that uncle who made thee best barbecue? The type of barbecue where you had to lick your fingers after every bite. The type of barbecue that was seasoned to perfection and had ample bbq sauce with every bite. The type of barbecue that makes you want to suck on the bone for awhile and not share with your pet dog. I woke up today in the mood for some homestyle bbq and J.A.s did not disappoint. In addition to the flavorful, finger licking good pork ribs and chicken, we really enjoyed the potato salad and baked beans. It's the type of potato salad that the old church mothers used to serve after a long Sunday service...creamy and delicious. All in all, I recommend that you call ahead or stop by J.A. Food truck for some of the best bbq in this region. The only negative comment that I have is that they are only open on the weekends.

Portions are big! Surprisingly the cow tongue was pretty good! Liked it more than some of the authentic Mexican restaurants in the area.Got the tacos with three different meat options, the nachos and the plantain dessert. Prices are decent, and food overall tasted great!

This is definitely a hidden gem. We had ox tails with plantains and rice and peas. It was not only delicious, it was tons of food at a great price. The owners were very sweet and even offered us chocolate covered strawberries, as it was Valentines. We will definitely be back.

I'm all about supporting small local businesses!!!! If you're looking for great, authentic, Brazilian empanadas, look no further! I was hungry after shopping at the new outlet mall, so I came here on a whim, as a lot of people were lined up to order here. I'm glad I did, because their food was amazing! Well priced with quick service, I was really pleased by their chicken empanada and fries. My only critique would be their system of calling out orders; they don't specify a number or a name, so it can get confusing. Regardless, I understand since it's a small business with limited space!

I tried their pizza at the Chesapeake Wine Festival and was hooked on the first bite. They were making them on site so there was a large line, but since it doesn't take very long to cook them, I dont think that I waited more than 10 minutes after ordering it. The crust is light and airy, but retaining a "doughy" texture similar to traditional pizzas vs neapolitan. I ordered the Chipotle Sausage Pizza, which cost $11 a similar price to their competitors in the area. The cheese was cheesier than I expected, literally bubbling when I received it, the sausage was placed under the cheese which was a nice surprise since you never knew where to expect it, and the chipotle sauce on the top took it to the next level. Since they are a food truck and don't have a physical location, its hard to catch up with them, hopefully I can try them again soon.

"We had an event at work where this pizza truck was our guest of honor and as soon as they came on the scene, the line formed fast! Since I was part of coordinating the event, I had to observe the wait to determine if we will use them again.I saw a lot of smiling faces once my coworkers received their pizza, so I knew they were pleased. The time it took for someone to put their order in to actually getting their food was approximately 10 mins, not bad for fresh cooked pizza. I think they handled the crowd well, at least a couple of hundred people. Now for the pizza, I tried the Mediterranean. The veggies (olives, tomatoes, spinach), feta cheese, and garlic olive oil was very good! It was fresh, and the veggies were not over cooked. It was thin crust and pizza is a 10 inch size, costing from $10 to $11. I do think that was just a tab too much for the size. But Overall good pizza."
"This is a food truck in front of the brewery. It's a great concept since the brewery doesn't serve food. The food is prepared fresh and typically piping hot. I wanted to get a good burger and yelp recommended this place. I grabbed a hot dog for my toddler that came with fries and everything was ready in less than 5 minutes. It was perfect for a hungry kid. Today was my second visit and while not as impressed as the first time, the food was good and satisfying. The chicken burger was described as tasty. If I'm hungry and on that side of town, I'd visit again."
"Good cheap fun for the family. Children like filling refill cups with multiple scoops of fun flavors, I think they have tried almost all the combos.I like the mounds, almond joy, the decadent, tootsie roll, neapolitan, banana split, burnt waffle, obx, cry baby (sour!). Chocolate covered cherry is good. Children like Bucky booster, the fruity and sour flavors. Get the repeat customer card, it gets a stamp for each medium you purchase them you get a free one after so many. Theses ices are addictive.Very pleasant service."
"We used this food truck for a business event at Sentara. Delicious food, excellent staff, clean, and on time. Would definitely book them again. I personally sampled the shrimp and they were amazing. Lots of happy sentara employees saying the enjoyed their selections as well. Easy to work with and great communication."
"It's nice to have a different lunch option . So when my job had different food trucks weekly I took advantage of it. This truck is all about the BBQ and they even had a vegetarian option. Now that's equal opportunity. The BBQ jackfruit was gone but I would have loved to sample it because I have heard good things about that fruit. My plate included bbq shredded chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and a piece of cornbread. My favorite was the cornbread. The chicken was fine... I'm not a BBQ professional so I can't rate it either way. The beans had a nice flavor to them. I liked the coleslaw. The guys were friendly, the transaction was smooth. The items that were sold out were already noted on the board. I did inquire about drink specials. I would stop by this truck again and try other items."
"After moving from a place with a lot of Asian cuisine, I'm more picky about the flavors of any food I get here on the East Coast.BALI BALI is some of the best fast Korean BBQ I've had! It's a small family business, and they are all so nice. 5/5 for service: they forgot to give me a plate for my order and he literally sprinted across the parking lot after me to make sure I got it!5/5 for food: Their Bibimbap is one of the freshest I've ever had - lots of fresh veggies like cucumber and carrot, and the egg was cooked perfectly! Sauce was sectioned in its own place so I could determine how spicy I wanted it, which I appreciated.Their mandu is also now my favorite! Beautiful balance of meat to veggies, not over-spiced like others; it's nice and crunchy and golden.Whenever I see them in the area I'll definitely make sure to stop, say hi, and get some delicious food."
"Love love the liver and gizzards combo . The collard greens taste like my mom's. Service was great ."
"I learned about this place via a random FB post from a couple months ago asking about Black owned businesses that offer vegan brunch. While I'm not a vegan, I enjoy the food and thought I'd give it a try. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese burger, the 1/2 Sunday brunch (pancakes and sausage), Oreo cupcakes and pumpkin bread. Everything was EXCELLENT. The fries were well-seasoned and crunchy. The burger was juicy and had the perfect ratio of bun to meat to egg ratio. The cupcakes were so moist they might as well melted in your mouth. My 9-month daughter ate every bite of her pancake and sausage meal. Service and atmosphere were great. I can't wait to come back."
"When will this place be up and running again? Somebody let me know!Got off the interstate at Armistead one day in 2013 or 14 and saw this truck parked outside a car shop. Curiosity made me stop. The food was AWESOME and I was looking for it around town when I stopped seeing the truck parked on Armistead. I saw it again at a festival at Buckroe Beach and made a point to stop there. Then I heard they were located at lunch time at the Net Center in Newmarket. Visited them there as well. Saw the truck on the road just the other day, first time in a long time, so I guess they are still in business somewhere..."
"If you you are looking for a great place to have some friendly conversation and Amazing food; get in your car and take a drive to J&K Style grill. There are so many different options to choose from when it comes to good eats. My favorite menus item is going to have to be those Collard Green stuffed wings with Carribian Candy rub. Mmm mom good. So, again if you're looking for good eats stop on by and make some new friends."
