"Hungover with a headache is how I entered Millie's on a Saturday morning. Buzzed and happily full of food is how I left. I got the huevos ranchero and the Moscow mule. The food was amazing but the Moscow mule brought me back to life. My husband got the Cajun mess and our waitress recommends the mess if you've never been which is what I will be getting next time. 10/10 recommend for food and service but it was the music that was the best!"
"We treated my friend to a restaurant of her choice for her birthday and this place was the winner! They don't take reservations for smaller groups, it's a first come first serve basis. We arrived at 5:30pm ish for a party of 3 and we were immediately seated (Saturday in July) .All the staff were very friendly and wished my friend a Happy Birthday! (We had given her a birthday crown & sash. hehe) It was nice of them to kindly acknowledge it, which added to the comfy & welcoming dinner experience! They also willingly took a group photo of us. Some of us ordered the watermelon cooler, which was okay. I didn't find it very flavorful or as refreshing as I had anticipated. A cheese board was ordered & that was tasty. I was highly disappointed that the crab pot pie was sold out! So our server recommended the Blackened Mahi Oscar with crab meat on top. It was delicious! The mahi was cooked perfectly, moist, not dry & not soggy. The crab meat was a decent amount and the dish overall tasted scrumptious! My friend had the crab cake entree and she devoured it! We all went for dessert- the triple chocolate cake, the double chocolate goat cheese cheesecake & the mandarin orange cake. We all respectively enjoyed our choices. The cakes were moist and a decent size. Although the chocolate slice did look a bit bigger than the orange one. The mandarin orange cake was very aromatic! The smell of citrus pleasantly hits you. It wasn't overly sweet and it was refreshing! I'm not a fan of cheesecake but I had a sample of my sister's and it was really good! It's a cozy restaurant that's also a wine & cheese shop. There's a small dining area on the first floor to the right, outdoor seating with a sun sail for shade and more seating up a flight of stairs."

"Extremely friendly service, quaint andCozy establishment in the heart of downtown Norfolk. Everything is made to order and the quality of freshness was top notch, definitely recommend!"
"Hair of the dog- I have learned now over the years is kind of touch and go! This used to be one of my favorite breakfast spots, and the only reason I keep trying them is because I have had some of my best dishes here .I had a boozy iced coffee flight- they definitely did not skip out on the liquor, however, a lot of it was a little bit too sweet for me.I ordered the Benedict flight and had to have it remade twice because they could not get the eggs correct. I ended up not eating most of it, because outside of the eggs it was still just as bad. However, I have had some of the dishes on the Benedict flight separately in the past and they have been phenomenal. I want to just say they were having an off day."
"My experience here was much better than mine at the original location after a half marathon where my stuffed toast wasn't stuffed and issue wasn't addressed.... Here - the staff were all warm and friendly and food was out quickly and was warm and delicious. The coffee was fresh and hot, my scotch eggs were out in moments and my corn chowder and carnitas hash were savory and filling! My waitress, Emily, was a delight - super friendly and attentive. I've watched this being built 5 minutes from my home for a loooong time due to delays and happy to see it thriving in this shopping center. A great new addition. Their menu here for brunch is great and has all the basics plus some interesting items. You can get omelets, avo toast, pancakes, hash, etc but then they also have salads and Benedict's and burgers and fun alcoholic drinks. They also have a full dinner menu with weekly specials and happy hour. Great location in Red Mill. Love, love, love."

Having only been here once, this place has already become my new favorite spot for a savory breakfast! The menu features elevated breakfast dishes that I wouldn't typically make at home which is what I look for in a restaurant that serves breakfast. I tried the Lump Crab & Scrambled Egg* Enchilada and the Devil's Shrimp & Grits, and honestly, the shrimp and grits were the best I've ever had. OH! and the breakfast potatoes were also the best ever. The place is pretty small, so if you don't have a reservation, be ready for a wait. Luckily, it's near the river, so you can take a walk or hangout on a bench until your table's ready. After my amazing meal and eyeing up all the other yummy-looking dishes being served around me, I cannot wait to go back, and I haven't stopped recommending it to my friends!

It was good! I would have only given 3 stars if it had not been for that Smoky Garlic Shrimp- to die for! Soup of the day- it was clam chowder. It was just ok- way too many potatoes. Good flavor.Shrimp and Grits- good, but not mind-blowing.Smokey shrimp- yum yum yumWe had a pet, so we sat outside. Nothing super about the service. It was good, but nothing special. The store inside is super cute and worth a visit.

When I say you NEED to try Stockpot, I mean it. I went for Sunday brunch and it was so good that I've been telling everyone about it since. The rosemary biscuits? Perfect. The chicken noodle soup? Amazing. I was so focused on the meal, I completely forgot to take a photo! This place really does have something for everyone, and I can't stop thinking about how great it was. If you're looking for a solid brunch in downtown Norfolk, Stockpot is the place to go.

My first visit at The Rustic Spoon was last year for brunch, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, so I decided to stop in again recently for dinner. Thankfully, it wasn't super busy so we were able to be seated right away. Matt was our server and greeted us shortly after we sat down. Since we went on a Thursday night, the appetizers were half off so we ordered the Fried Calamari which was cooked and seasoned perfectly and paired with two different sauces. I then decided on the Crab Cake Sandwich which included pickled green tomatoes (I love green tomatoes) which really gave the sandwich an amazing flavor. The crab cake was pan seared and tasted wonderful. We were stuffed after the appetizer and entree but once Matt mentioned one of the desserts being Sweet Potato Bread Pudding, I had to try it! OMG! It was divine!!!! The hints of sweet potato paired with the warm, soft bread and caramel were a perfect combination! Overall, we had a great dining experience, yet again. Matt was wonderful and even shared a few other spots he enjoyed in the area as well for us to try. If you haven't stopped in and tried The Rustic Spoon, what are you waiting for!!!

Made the drive to Washington to try this famous local spot - the building itself is pretty rundown, parking spots a bit limited. You order at the window and wait to hear your name hollered. The young lady that placed our order was not friendly. Period. Borderline rude and made it pretty clear she didn't want to be at work. Onto the food - the fried chicken was good, the corn nuggets very yummy. Didn't care for the potato salad. The yellow cake with chocolate frosting was average, didn't finish it. Not sure we'd eat here again.

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! The food at this place makes me think of the Grandma of all Grandmamas cooking. Boy was this food tasty. I had the meatloaf, a side of mac and cheese and the collards. The meatloaf was smothered with marinara and onions. The mac and cheese was...well just full of cheesy deliciousness and the collards where not out of a can, cooked and seasoned to perfection. The food was full of flavor. We chatted with Ms. Tuesday who was this wonderful woman at the counter. Ms. Mary's restaurant does the catering for the Mariners Museum which is a very interesting fact. This was my first time and I will definitely make this restaurant a once a week thing. I might even use them if I am not in the mood to cook. A few things to note, its not a huge restaurant so you can't bring like 20 of your girls in there for lunch, they do catering large and small and even do wedding cakes. The food is affordable and they even will cook whatever you ask them to cook within reason of course. Check them out and Bon Appetit!

"OMG, we loved Kings - definitely a must stop if you're in the area.I ordered a couple of Chix Thighs that came with one of their delicious Cat Head Cheese biscuits, also a side of Hush Puppies and a small Sweet Potato Pie.Super nice staff, huge menu and delicious southern food. Everything was so yummy and definitely the best sweet potato pie I've ever had. So yep, we'll be back, next time we're in NC."
"Rainy and ugly, so what better to put you in a great mood then southern food with a creole kick. That describes this establishment of home cooked comfort food. It's not a large restaurant, but they deliver big flavor. I had the smothered pork chops, greens and a delicious sweet potato soufflé oh can't forget that great cornbread that comes with the dishes. The prices are reasonable and the service is awesome. A definite diamond in the ruff. This was my first of many visits to come!"
"Great reviews for this place. It is in a little strip mall. Unpretentious shop. There is a small sitting area but no one was thereMostly fried food, fried fish. I ordered shrimp and grits and fish tacos. The fish tacos were good. Fish was flaky, deep fried whitefish. The shrimp and grits I can't comment on because for some reason I got the fish fry instead. As a fish fry, it was okay. Fair amount of fries. Fish was spiced up a bit. Came with shrimp, which were fairly well done. But for someone who comes from a region where fish fry is the only meal on fridays, I was kind of disappointed. Wouldn't compare it to a beer battered fish fry from where im from...Especially since I had been looking forward to shrimp and grits."
"Quality food. Clean interior. The decorations at the front block a clear view of the restaurant, making it virtually impossible for customers to enjoy the view of the inside of the restaurant while waiting for a host to seat them. That's unfortunate, because it looks great inside once you get past those decorations that block the view. It also makes it harder for the restaurant staff to see that someone is standing at the front.Would go again."
