"This restaurant comes up quite often on Open Table, so I always wondered about this place. Reviews looked decent and pictures of the interior were nice.I finally got the opportunity to dine here when a few friends and I met recently in downtown Norfolk. I wasn't aware this restaurant was inside the Hilton. The host and hostess were attentive and friendly. When the hostess asked if we had a reservation I said no and thought there probably isn't any availability on a Saturday. Luckily we didn't even have to wait for a table. Another host escorted us to a table upstairs. It was great to be away from the noise and any hustle and bustle downstairs as we ladies had a lot to catch up on. The complimentary bread was not warm and served with a side of butter. The butter had a texture like cream cheese and one of my friends said it tasted minty. Unusual butter to spread on a multigrain roll that had a strong rye taste (not a fan of rye). I ordered one of the specials, the flounder with lump crab meat covered in she crab soup. To my dismay the dish was without flavor and only came with 2 slices of focaccia bread (menu said 4). I found the entree bland and overpriced. Don't think I'll be back."
"Great service, great atmosphere, great food. Worth a visit! I really enjoyed everything that I ordered."

"We have eaten here often when in town for conferences. Our visits have alway been fun and delicious. The vibe is inviting. You are treated like a favorite local. The food is amazing. Gastropub at its best."
"We came here for dinner and it was a great experience! We were seated right away for a party of 3. Our waiter was great and did not rush us when we were waiting for our last person to meet us. The food was delicious! For an appetizer we got the buffalo cauliflower which was good but wish it came with extra sauce or ranch to dip in. The charcuterie board was also amazing and had a great selection of meats, cheeses, and fruits. We all loved our dinner entree's too! Pork schnitzel and the steak was phenomenal. We will definitely be back!"
"Nice atmosphere, but the front of house service time was absolutely insane. 1 hour until food arrived at the table, roughly 40 minutes for the kitchen to push it out. From the look of it, they seem very understaffed.I couldn't tell if there was only one person in the kitchen or not, but she also seemed to be waiting tables. If you're understaffed, make sure to not take on more tables than able. The food was good but not memorable."
"Great food with wonderful service. Great brunch spot for families and friends. There was about a 20 minute wait, but it was worth it."
"Food was amazing! Sides you can share, steaks that were sized like they are supposed to be and great selection! Customer service was great and our waitress was on it! And Ambiance was a quaint, nicely set up, not on top of each other...There is a dress code, but not strict, just no PJs, sweats, hoodies... so no beach and bum clothes... just take a shower and no holes. One rule they need is no cell phones on speaker... WAS super annoying!"
"Stopped to try the Tarnished Truth Bourbon. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us right away. Restaurant was very stylish and clean. We ordered oyster rock and Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were great! The oysters were really cheesy. I wasn't a fan but I wasn't expecting it to be that cheesy. He ordered a flight and the favorite was the Bottle In Bond!We will definitely be back and we will have to try the dinner."
"Everything is absolutely delicious. Never had a bad bite. My one con would be the closeness of tables to your neighbors if you're not in a booth."
"Rainy Sunday - staying close by! Ran across order a cheese pizza to go and had a beer while I waited! Was in and out in 10 minutes. Cold beer! Pizza was hot and fresh! Good tasting sauce and dough was nice! Small flop but still a solid pie."
"We made reservations for tonight. When we sat down I told our server I was allergic to seeds and nuts. For appetizer we ordered pimento cheese. Out came crackers covered in seeds. I sent them back and soup came out with more seeded crackers. It was loud in there. People who worked there wore clothes I would clean the house in....the atmosphere did not marry with the menu. Food was great but everything else did not add up for a date night nor NOT allergy friendly... be on guard."
"I've been to Napa more than a few times at this point but visiting them during the holiday has warranted a yelp review! Man the holiday decorations are absolutely amazing. My bet by decorating that have increased their sales by an exorbitant amount for these holiday months. Everyone is vying for a reservation and wants to be part of the holiday spirit! We actually frequent Napa a good bit for their happy hour deal till 6pm , cheaper sushi, $1 oysters raw/fried, drink specials... love their smoked old fashioned $10. Highly recommend it. At any rate I went to Napa with some girlfriends to experience the holiday decorations and it was just so festive. I got their smoked old fashioned, and the Cacio e Pepe with shrimp and my girlfriends got the Shrimp Scampi Risotto. It was all delicious. We also got a bread basket (focaccia with butter and sun dried tomato). So this is my personal gripe... why are more restaurants moving to pay for bread... like Midlothian's Chef's Kitchen and 1870... bread is so cheap why don't we just get it with out meal lol) Good times regardless!"

So if this were just a review of dinner it would be 5 stars. But we had brunch and dinner there during our stay. Let me start with the service which is and always has been great. No matter where we have sat or when we have come in the service and the staff have been consistently wonderful. Now let's talk about dinner. - The absolute star is the fish wings. They are cheap and delicious. Here is the secret: treat them like you would a chicken wing and not like a piece of fish. The flavor is awesome and they are loaded with delicious meat. - the oysters are another star. They have a constant and large selection of local varieties for a variety of tastes. From sweet to briny to small to large. Absolutely delicious! We also had a delicious shrimp appetizer and several distinctive cocktails. I know the rule is not to eat at the hotel when you travel but this place is the exception. The variety of seating areas means that you can sit at the busy bar or have a quiet booth in a corner. Good for socializing with strangers or for an intimate evening with friends. I do not recommend the brunch. The chicken biscuit was not very good. The biscuit was extremely dry and the gravy was strangely flavored and slightly spicy. The potatoes were also inconsistently spiced. There are much better brunch options within walking distance.

Alkaline has been on my bucket list for YEARS, and I'm thrilled to finally check it off. First, the yuzu lager on draft was delicious. For our meals, husband ordered the beef noodle soup and I went with triple garlic katsu ramen. Both were full of flavor and richness. We swapped bowls a few times because they were equally delicious. We ordered the miso butter cake for dessert, which was excellent. The caramel sauce and candied pecans really set it off. Our server was very friendly, and the playlist was enjoyable. We'll be back!

From the moment I walked into Hearth, I felt transported to a cozy cabin nestled in a snowy forest. The warm ambiance, with its woodsy decor and comforting atmosphere, immediately set the stage for a fantastic dining experience. Every detail, from the service to the food, contributed to a memorable evening.I started with a crispy Brussels sprouts salad, a delightful combination of feta, apples, fennel, and of course, bacon. The balance of textures and flavors, along with the use of fresh, seasonal produce, was impressive and set a high bar for the meal to come. For my main course i had the Steak Frites, and it was perfection. The steak was cooked exactly to order--tender, flavorful, and paired beautifully with a light, refreshing salad that served as the perfect palate cleanser. The truffle fries were a highlight, their aroma reaching the table before the plate even arrived. To top it off, I enjoyed a Celery Gimlet--a crisp, well-balanced cocktail that rounded out the meal perfectly. Every bite and sip left me feeling warm and completely satisfied.I cannot wait until my next meal here!

The Spicy Bloody Maria is THE WAY TO GO if you're a big bloody mary fan. All the garnishes are pickled perfectly and go very well with the cocktail. The breakfast food and sandwiches are all very good too. I highly recommend coming here for the Sunday brunch. Usually, the service is decently fast if you sit at the bar, and all the bartenders/waiters/waitresses are very nice. Every year, they love doing 12 Nights of Old Fashioneds in December for the holiday season, and it is POPPING from 7-11pm here. They share their parking lot with perro blanco, if there are no spots, street parking is encouraged. They also sell/use the lupo hot sauce form perro blanco, which is a great hot sauce I recommend putting on top of the eggs or eating with tater tots.

First timer and enjoyed it all! Pros: Service: From the hostess to our waitress as well as the manager who stopped by to make sure we were having a good meal/experience, we had great service. Food: Since it was our first time I got a few different sides to sample that included grits, shredded hash browns, banana bread French toast, pancake and chili. All were good but the standouts were the banana bread French toast and the chili! The pancake was a little on the thin side, my preference is a little more fluffy but it was still tasty. Husband got the fried breakfast chimichanga with chorizo and loved it! Drink: I got the "mimosa" flight and it was delicious! I asked if they could sub sprite because I'm not a big drinker and our server went and asked and they did. She also gave great suggestions on what fruit and juice pairing. Ambiance: A mixture of booths and tables and even some seats at the bar. There is an outdoor patio area too. Lots of Dave Matthews posters along one wall and the place has a nice vibe. It gets crowded but understandable with such yummy food and good service. Cons: More of a personal preference but empty glasses and plates were not cleared off the table till we had to ask. Made it sort of crowded!

We celebrated our company's Christmas party here. What a treat. The restaurant was very spacious and designed for just these occasions. We were upstairs is a private room. The menu was preselected with two salad options, three main course dishes, and cheesecake for dessert. We had a very nice appetizer spread as well. I went with the Filet and Shrimp main. Cook temp medium rare. It was perfect. Accompanied by mashed potatoes and broccolini. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. Service was fantastic. They were rolling to keep everything hydrated and never left an empty dish lingering. This was really enjoyable. I highly recommend you check them out!

We decided to have a business dinner here while in the complex for a conference. Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly! They venue is nice, it's got a cellar/basement style, which is fitting considering the location of it. Menu is typical pub fare and the kitchen's execution of the menu was great. They have a nice wine list, as well as cocktails. Overall, we enjoyed the visit and I can see setting up a dinner meeting again in the future.

"My husband and I rented two shuffleboard lanes at Beachside Social to spend time with our extended family the night before our wedding. Booking the lanes/catering online was a super easy process. We found the price to be very reasonable for two hours of shuffleboard and catered food for about 30 people. Everyone had an absolute blast and mentioned how they wanted to go back! I would highly recommend hosting any parties/events here."
"Here's a polished version of your review:What a fantastic place to enjoy a meal with my family! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated at a clean table. Our drinks arrived quickly, along with complimentary chips and salsa, which were a nice touch. They also have a great selection of beers for those looking to unwind. The atmosphere was lively, and it was clear that other diners were enjoying their time here as much as we were. The extensive menu can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but it offers plenty of tempting options. The food was absolutely delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. This is definitely a spot we'd return to for another family outing!"
"Went yesterday. Really liked they offered non alcoholic Piña coladas and strawberry daiquiri! I tried the vegetarian enchiladas w mushroom avocado n spinach. Yummy. Food was fine but they had 2 wifi networks called Jose tequilas and did not share any passwords when asked."
"The food is absolutely delicious! One of the few places in the area that actually puts eel sauce ON the rolls. I love that!!! The service for pick up is always fast and fresh. I haven't come in to dine, but the ambiance seems great for a night out or special occasions. This is my go-to spot for sushi regularly so I will be back!"
"I was able to catch their March 20th deal for $35++ pp which allowed me to sample their new spring menu. Portions were healthy sizes and wonderfully plated. Patio seating was open, therefore I took advantage of that beautiful day to enjoy my meal alfresco on a cool, sunny day with lovely views of the Chesapeake Bay. I had the warm spinach crab dip with the most delicious, soft and flavorful pita bread. I could have just even eaten the pita bread alone. However, the dip was plentiful and had actual crabmeat on top. Savory and not overly heavy with cheese or spinach- a good balance, quite good and filling! My sister had the fried calamari which was a pleaser as well, not too chewy and the accompanying sauces enhanced the taste even more. The breading was crispy but with enough softness at the same time. If you are a tentacle lover, you might be disappointed, as there weren't many or any if at all. (I'm not a fan of tentacles.)entrees- I had the roasted rockfish which had an orange ginger glaze & plated on a bed of carolina gold rice. The fish was meaty in texture, light firm & white. The flavors really came through. My sister had the grilled ribeye with fries. The steak with chimichurri sauce was cooked medium well per her request. The rosemary fries were hidden under the steak. I was able to sample some from my sister. Those fries were really good & well seasoned. I'm not sure why they place the steak over the fries versus plate them to the side. The choices of dessert were chocolate cake, creme brûlée or key lime pie. I opted for the chocolate cake and my sister went with the cream brulee but we each halved ours so we could try both. They both did not disappoint! The chocolate cake was massive - tall and thick with chocolate ganache with the cake portion soft, moist but crumbly yet soo good. The creme brulee was a winner as well. Creme brulee is always a good choice if you want a light dessert. It was delightful! You could hear the crisp crackle as the spoon broke into the top torched caramelized sugar. The sound alone was satisfying. It's nice to be able to enjoy the restaurant and patio before memorial day hits and it becomes noisy and busy."
"All tequila options are here. Loved every second of it. Bartender was amazing, great service, manager also very engaging. No issues, I highly recommend this place. The establishment was perfect. Plenty of bar space and tables. Will definitely return in the future. Had the Birria tacos and they hit it out of the park. Thanks again guys."
"We came to visit a friend and she's highly recommended this restaurant. We have never heard of an AYCE sushi restaurant (besides Sushi-On, which is a buffet) and were all excited to try it. And let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. The staff are super polite and kind, the side dishes we ordered came out nice and hot, and the sushi rolls themselves were beautifully done. The quality of their fish is my boyfriend is super picky about white tuna and was pleasantly surprised by how soft and buttery theirs was. The restaurant was also very clean and well kept, and the decorations are beautiful and intriguing. I love the little pergola they have in the corner and love the cute tree lamps over the bar area. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!"
"My family and I attended the East Coast She-Crab soup classic last month, and Oceans 14 was one of our favorites in that competition. We came to Oceans 14 on a Saturday for lunch, only to find out they only serve their brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-2pm - and she-crab soup is *not* on the brunch menu. Fortunately, the chef was very accommodating and prepared the soup for us! It was delicious - filled with crab meat and a bit spicy, which we loved! We also had raw oysters with a mignonette which were fine, crab nachos, and shrimp & grits. The shrimp & grits had nicely poached eggs, and the grits were cooked perfectly. The Crab nachos were okay (I am greedy and could have used more crab meat). Overall the brunch menu was great but we will definitely return for more she-crab soup and to try their dinner menu."
"Wow we loved it here! Stepped out of our normal to try something new and different and this place definitely did not disappoint. Like other reviewers I've drove by this place on Virginia Beach Blvd on many occasions and never crossed my mind we should check it out but thanks to Yelp we found it. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and seated on Friday night with no wait which was a plus. We knew we wanted tacos and tres Leches cake but that was all we initially planned. We got our complimentary chips and dip which were flavorful & a great starter to every great Mexican restaurant. I decided to try the chicken taco salad instead of tacos since I knew I would try a bite or two of my fiancé's tacos and man was that a good choice. We always try each other's food and we both agreed my dish was the best dish like our usual lol. The taco salad was filled with everything you need, guacamole, sour cream, delicious chicken strips, beans, lettuce, pico, etc. We both loved our dish and it was so fulfilling we could not even finish down to the last bite as we were stuffing ourselves and really wanted to try the Tres Leches cake. Our server also highly recommended it as a good choice. They had 3 options for dessert that I noticed to choose from. The original tres Leches cake, the Cuatro Leches Cake or flan. I always get the tres Leches so I wanted to try the new spin and wow it was delicious! Mouth watering being soaked in four different milks which leaves you happy and satisfied. I was so shocked that we were the first to post about this yummy treat since it's been on the menu. It's literally topped with chocolate and caramel sauces and cherry which makes it even more incredible and it taste just as good as it looks which is everything. We definitely recommend checking out this hidden gem. It will have you leaving satisfied."
"I past this establishment practically everyday and finally made time to go. It was well worth it. I ordered the Crab Rice Balls to start off with and they were the best thing ever. Freshly cooked, nice size proportion and the miso aioli topped it off quite well. Our server made great suggestions since it was our first time there on entrees and cocktails. I ordered the Mac Daddy Burger that contained fried Mac, Tillamook cheddar cheese and house sauce. The overall quality was well put together and wasn't sloppy at all, especially for a burger with many toppings. For a drink, I ordered the Red Dress, which included vodka, fresh strawberries and other goodies. The overall place is a nice ambiance for late dinner or place to grab a cocktail. Although it was a little chilly outside there is a fire place on the the patio along with heaters coming from the ceiling. I look forward to coming back and trying other menu options!"
"Sophia and I had breakfast here at this small Norfolk spot during Presidents Day weekend. The first time I caught wind of The Bird was through Channel 13 when they were spotlighted for their Friday Flavor segment last year. So why not give them a try?The building itself is small with a few small tables and a few tabletops along with the main bar. Inside, the decor is excellent. This is basically your neighborhood bar. And you can see the kitchen area adjacent to the bar as well. Once you walk in, you go the front and place your order with the option of paying now or after you're done with your meal.I selected the Eggs in a Nest meal which is Texas Toast with eggs in the center, home fries and bacon/sausage (I chose their house sausage). At first, I assumed that eggs would be between the toast slices, but nope. These are literally eggs cooked in the center. I chose medium cooked instead of hard fried. The dish may not look like much, but it worked. Both egg toast slices were cooked very well, the home fries were slightly crunchy and the sausage had a nice maple taste. I also had their hot brown sugar latte which was very good. Sophia had their waffle plate which she enjoyed as well. The Bird definitely knocked it out of the park. Both of us will be back here again real soon. Till next time :)"
"Cold brew was great! They had an issue getting the cold brew machine to work but they figured it out. Really liked the sleek look outside and inside. Staff was super friendly. Left off one star for the review because it was missing that coffee shop element of community. I mean if you are a coffee person seeking out new coffee shops all the time you know what I am talking about! That feel you get when the locals walk in and everyone knows them. The feel of family.... This place didn't have that. But coffee was great! The ham and cheese croissant was spot on. It was clean and staff was nice! Would go again."
"THE best taco and mezcal spot in Norfolk!!! Not gonna lie, for my remaining time here in VA, I can only eat tacos/mezcal from this spot!!!There's a lot of seating inside and outside! Inside is assigned seating by the servers but outside is free game and it's pretty lovely!Happy Hour here definitely made me very happy! You can see the specials on my review and you'll see why! Regardless of which margarita you get, you'll be satisfied! HIGHKEY RECOMMEND GETTING A PINEAPPLE & MANGO MARGARITA!!!!I got the chicken tinga bowl and it was super satisfying!! The chicken, rice, guacamole, hot queso and all the other ingredients just blends so well together and it was EXTREMELY delicious! I scarfed this meal down because I couldn't put my spoon down! My friends got the nachos and you seriously have to dig down deep for the chips but that's good because you'll have a lot of food on the chip already!YOU NEED TO COME HERE NOW"
"Best Tex-Mex in Hampton Roads! Wife and I went for Sunday afternoon early dinner. We showed up about 4 and the place was nearly empty, only 1 table occupied. We had chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. The chips were light and fresh outta the fryer hot. Salsa was great- a little heat but not too much. Like Goldilocks' bed it was just right. I had the Burrito Vampiro and she had the chicken quesadilla. Neither of us could eat more than half. Huge serving sizes! The Vampiro is amazing. The queso, carnitas, and bacon all turn into something new and special in the oven.If you haven't been, you should change that - wiki wiki!"
"Good food, good service. Lively atmosphere. Have been here repeatedly and I don't even like Mexican food that much. They also have a great menu."
"This is now our favorite mexican restaurant. Big menu, We have been coming since they have been open and ALL the food has been great. I am impressed because they give you plenty of everything including meat. They don't hold back. Quality of everything is really fresh. The brightest guacamole and the crispiest lettuce. My favorite part. EVERYTHING comes to you HOT. They bring you plenty of salsa and one time we ran out . Our server quickly brought us more. Friendliest Staff. Very attentive and upbeat happy energy. The servers are awesome about explaining the menu if you have questions. Communication with all the staff is really wonderful. There are so many really good drinks. They have a drink menu and the menu is huge. So are the drinks. LOVE LOVE LOVE the drinks. My personal fave is the Las Palmas "Coco" Margarita. Lovely to look at with all the fruit lining the rim.Inside is beautiful with Neon lights at the bar and beautiful paintings on the walls. Accents of mexican pottery everywhere. Very colorful. We love it. We even had friends come from Indiana for a visit and all 14 of them loved it. Service was spectacular that night too. Even with a big table of big eaters. They kept the drinks filled all night."
"Took my kids on a pizza date and this place is the perfect atmosphere. The turkey pepperoni pizza and speed bumps are legit!"
"Service levels matter! Lauren is AMAZING! From start to finish she was on it and it was greatly appreciated. I'm in Norfolk for a week and have had less that stellar dining experiences. This place had soild happy hour deals and who doesn't love seafood. The prices were reasonable for your standard seafood boil. We opted to add broccoli (highly recommend) and egg. The sauce was a little on the salty side so if you're worried about that ask them to go lite. Overall the food was solid, prices fair, and worth the trip for the service. You can tell Lauren is a seasoned professional, engaging but not overbearing, proactive in tending to her customers, and great energy. If I come back to town, I'd visit again."
"When we were seated it was around 7pm on a Saturday it wasn't very busy just a few tables and one large party. We were told they only have 2 menus, so my party of 5 said fine and took turns looking through all the 2 menus we had. None of us had been to a place like this before, we didn't know how it all worked the waiter was patient the first date we came on 5/18/24 he took our photo as a group and he was fantastic no complaints that date except the only having 2 menus thing. We came back the same group of 5 people on a Saturday again around 645pm on 5/25/24 the place was not busy again they told us we only have 2 menus. Come on one time I get it but twice with no more then 2 menus? That's annoying, we were seated and rushed to order the waiter "I don't remember his name his was shorter heavyset black man" he did not introduce himself to us and he said "do you want to order now I have a large party and I'll be a minute with them so I won't be able to come back to your table for quite some time?" I said we just st down and only have 2 menus so we need a minute. He legit walked away that's all. This experience was just awful, the last time 5/18/24 we came here in ordered a half lb snow crab legs and got two clusters this time I order the same and only got 1 cluster of snow crab legs. When I asked why the difference to the waiter on 5/25/24 he said he didn't know that's all nothing about him checking with a manager or anything. We ordered an appetizer which was Buffalo shrimp this time around the shrimp (compared to 5/18/24 visit ) was disgusting , mushy and almost no Buffalo on it at all. This same waiter while he claimed to be too busy with a huge party to help us was seated at a booth by the window with a female customer for over 15 mins while we waited for him to come back to our table to check out. Over all the experience on 5/25/24 was a dumpster fire from the minute we walked in to the time we left."
"I attended the Junior League's Brunched event held at The Harbor Club this past weekend. What a really great venue. It's bright... But we were there from 11am to 2pm with a lot of amazing natural light to fill the place. The venue is quite spacious and beautiful inside. I was reminded of looking out over the water when it was a Hooter's several years ago... A much better use of the space now. Plenty of seating with lounge areas, the bar, and the outdoor patio overlooking the Elizabeth River.Top tip: sit outside if the weather is gorgeous. There aren't a lot of views this good in Norfolk. On nice days, like when I was just there, they open the doors that allow for a nice breeze into the place.TVs fill the place throughout that are connected to one central system, a good feature for events, as the Junior League had a rolling slideshow of all their sponsors.I didn't interact too much with The Harbor Club staff although they were helpful with getting us drinks. A couple of folks kept pretty busy keeping the place clean as people were trying foods throughout the venue.Definitely a great place to host an event for 100+ people."
"Fantastic vibes... Baby types of seating to suit your style or mood. High tips, low tips, chaise lounge seats, comfy spinning bar seats or standing room, if you prefer. They're now open for lunch at noon from their normal 4pm opening time. We had the devilled eggs, burger, crab cake, salad and fries (both regular and Parmesan truffle) and they were all solid choices. Amazing service and it feels like you've known everyone for years. Very welcoming. Highly recommended and wish we lived nearby or we would be here too often to admit!"
"Came on a wed night - hostess wasn't to be seen so sat ourselves..seemed to be a theme. Pineapple crush was more a pina colada in a hollowed out pineapple. Barria was good but the hamburger was meh. So overall the barria burger is like a 6 out of 10. The chicken fajitas came out hot but it's just basic fajitas."
