"I saw this restaurant while driving on E. Little Creek. It's on the same side of the street as Saul's Sandwich shop. What called my attention was a sign that said "tortilleria". That was motivation enough to turn around and head inside. There was a scannable code outside the building, but I didn't see tortillas. They make corn tortillas in house and have a tortilla company from VA they buy flour ones from. I snagged the last pack at 6$. Excited to try them out. If I would have known it was a rotisserie chicken place, I would have waited until dinner to bring home for the family. When you walk in you're greeted by smiling faces and a small Mercado that sells rice, beans, spices, and cheeses from Ecuador, El Salvador. Next time I go I'll take a pic of the little tiendita. I didn't see what I ordered on the menu but pulled it up via FB. Empanadas de pollo hecho con maíz. I ordered a couple and didn't realize they come with 4 per order. Tengo comida para la cena now. Yum! The empanadas took a little while to make but when I saw they were packing it fresh. I'd wait forever because fresh, flavorful and generous chicken filling. This more of a take out spot with one bar table 2/ 2 chairs if you decide to eat in. We'll be back, we have to try thier fresh made to order fried chicken.Thank you!!Sensory info:The shop is small with confined space for the market side of the store. It smells of fried chicken and of cooked meats. There are a few tvs with the menu on them- they do change info so if you're looking for a stationary menu they have those at the registers. Also, outside is a QR code with the menu (I used it o get an idea of the foods available) There is a display of raw meat in the carnicería that may give an "ick" for those who aren't comfortable seeing that sort of thing. Lots of pickled veggies (you can ask to leave it out if it's not your thing). Very clean and saw the veggies/ tortillas are stored in a completely different spot away from the raw meats."
"My first time here- stumbled across the restaurant by accident. Somehow the universe makes sure that you are where you need to be. They seem to be out of a bunch of stuff, so I went with the Classic Crispy Chicken sandwich, and made it Deluxe (+$1.50) because I enjoy vegetables on my sandwich. Made a combo of it, because who doesn't like curly fries?!? Got an iced green tea, which was pretty good as green tea goes. The sandwich was excellent- everything I want in a fried chicken sandwich- crispy, hot, juicy, slightly spicy. The fries were tasty and fresh. Ingrid was very helpful to a poor old first-timer, and the total before tip came to $11.98, so it was cheaper than the other places nearby. I'm not even worrying about the calories because I walked here! TL;DR- hot, fresh, delicious lunch in 5 minutes for $12 plus tip. How can you go wrong? I will definitely be back."

"Bottom Line: Tasty, crispy fried chicken and friendly and organized service.Tonight my family had chicken from Cookshak and we really enjoyed it. We picked up two chickens which amounted to 16 pieces consisting of breasts, drumsticks, wing and thigh. The thighs didn't have much meat on them but the balance of the pieces were meaty. We especially enjoyed the extra crispy coating. The spice seemed right as both spicy-lovers and sensitive pallets at our table of 11 enjoyed it. We also appreciated that the chicken pieces were all consistently cooked.Since we had leftover sides at home (tomato slices, macaroni salad and baked beans) to pair with our chicken we did not try any of Cookshak's sides.I don't eat fried chicken very often but there are a few things I find practical about it. First, it easily pairs with simple sides and second it is tasty at both room temperature and hot out of the fryer. It took us about 15 minutes to get our birds home and on the table and they were warm and delicious.I'm sorry that the reviews on Yelp for this local Nags Head business aren't better to encourage more people to try it. I did notice the reviews through another review site is favorable and the Yelp reviews for the Duck location are stellar. I polled my family and we all agreed we'd try Cookshak again!"
"Walked in. Saw a few people sitting around a few tables. This place isn't a get dressed up fancy place. I wanted a simple meal. Nothing fancy and it hit the spot. Chicken was good! Nice flavor. Breast was a little dry but that's white meat for ya. Don't fear- they have 2 dipping sauces for you. The green one is spicy but I liked it. The yellow one- it'll rock your world so don't stress about the white meat. I went with the lentils and I loved them. Lots on the menu other then the chicken. Can't remember if there was a kid's menu but they have chicken and fries so you're fine! They had beer..... YUM!!"
"Love love the liver and gizzards combo . The collard greens taste like my mom's. Service was great ."
"Food portions were huge and food was delicious! Super crispy, full of meat and flavorful! We got to try a new spiral potato they are rolling out and it is fantastic - a must try!!"
"We have a New (to us) fuel/ convenience store on our route to Nags Head. Need a coffee & potty break while refueling? Their pumps are easy to manuever, even during tourist season.Of course the smell of hot food is the first to catch our attention. We were indeed tempted with hot potato wedges and chicken tenders so we chose the seasoned wedges to nibble on during our trip. And of course a pumpkin spice coffee for me.Now don't get me wrong, I still love the donut shop across the street from this Royal Farms. But today was a good day to try this new pitstop. The Staff was so helpful & restrooms were clean so we signed up for a perks card. Then on our trip home we'll get to use those perks."
"Found this lil gem while I was out for the SITW festival ! Nice halal type size unit with good low lighting but a great vibe ! The staff was nice and super cute (the wyd always a plus am I right ) ? Lol food could be a tad more quicker in the come out but due to size I don't think their kitchen allows them to cook multiple things for large parties so I'll let it slide. Now can't leave this review without taking about the drinks ..... BE PREPARED BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT BE DD , does that put emphasis on how good they are ? Lol definitely have to slide by and see it for yourself !"
"I've been going to Chi Chop since they opened in their last location in 2019. If there's any place I would recommend others for some really good Asian food after a Sunday Service, food before work, lunch break, family dinner-- It would be Chi Chop. One of the owners, Amy is one of the sweetest people I know & she really remembers her costumers from the back of her head. When I come in, she would ask if I want my original order which is Samurai Crispy Chicken combo with TWO Yam yam sauce. NO vegetables & miso soup as my side. I would add in Mango Calpis soda with mango popping boba from time to time. No other business remember's my exact order like Amy does! They have lunch specials that varies from $8-$13 which is so hard to beat! The atmosphere in this place is very chill. If I need to wind down before or after work or need to do some work on my iPad, I would come here. It's definitely my safe, food place to go to. They definitely upgraded the place from their last location & i'm so proud of how this business has come since 2019. They deserve all the love because their food here is amazing!!! Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention... they are closed EVERY Tuesday."
"Expectations were low as we pulled in the lot and saw a tiny window with take out only. We pre ordered 4 whole fried chickens. We had to pick up because they don't deliver outside of Duck. But man oh man were we wrong. The chicken was moist, well seasoned and had a delicious crispy breading. We picked up in Duck and drove it back to Corolla reheated in the oven and served with the sides that we made. It was the star of the dinner paying homage to the 1980's Swanson Hungry Man Fried Chicken Dinner. It was spot on. Highly recommend."
"The fried chicken is one of the five best in the world!Had a breast and a thigh today!Delicious breast was moist and juicy Slight hint of celery just an amazing flavorYou can add hot sauce...When I was done the individual bones were picked clean!!!Good price on fuel too!!!1 minute off 95 Git you some!!"
"Came here on Tuesday (01/21/25) for lunch with my sister as she kept raving how good it was and we were both off for the day so off we went.It was pretty empty when we arrived around 12ish I think, we needed a few minutes to decide or should I say I needed a few minutes.I was debating between their Buffalo Ranch or their featured sandwich the Super Parm. I went with the Super Parm as it is a limited time only and figured I could get the other one next time.We sat by the sauce bar and as we waited for our food, I got the following sauces to try: Nashville Hot, Buffalo, Korean BBQ and Buttermilk Ranch. My sister had the Honey Mustard and Signature sauces. Loved the ranch and buffalo and Korean BBQ, the Nashville Hot was different but still enjoyed.Next came our sandwiches, I also got a regular side of fried pickles as well. Man that sandwich was huge or should I say the chicken it self was huge!I dont know what I was expecting but that sandwich was so good and the chicken filet was so tender and went so well with the melted provolone cheese and marinara. I thoroughly enjoyed this and the fried pickles were fried to perfection and oh so good.My sister enjoyed her Bacavo ranch sandwich she says its her favorite and she had their fries, I normally not a fresh cut fry fan but these were really good and had a nice slight crispy and not soggy at all.The workers came around and asked if we were ok and if we needed anything and the place got busy for the lunch time rush while we were there. I definitely want to come back and try the buffalo ranch!"

We stopped in for lunch since we are always open to good fried chicken. With only one review (and only one star) we decided we would have to test it. Cookshak is really an extension of Pizzazz Pizza which we have also never tried. You order at the Cookshak counter and can eat in the Pizzazz booths if you are not carrying out. We each ordered a two-piece dark lunch which came with fries, slaw and a drink. The two pieces were really pretty large; a leg and thigh. The fries were skimpy, if you care. I normally just decline the fries, but don't go here expecting a large order. The main attraction, the chicken, was OK but not worth driving far for. Ms T read an extensive article about the recipe; the brining and so forth. I appreciate the effort, but the chicken lacked salt. It did have a hint of spice, which I really liked. I would certainly like a spicy option. The chicken was indeed fresh, hot and juicy, but they need to boost the salt in the brine a little, so we actually know they brined it. When we tasted it, we both said, this is not brined. I'm not talking about making it salty. I'm talking about having detectable salt in the meat. They said they double dip the chicken to add the crunch. For us, this is a mistake. It is a matter of whether you want to have chicken or a lot of fried batter that comes off in sheets. You may prefer this. I prefer chicken that is floured and fried with good seasonings and enough salt in the meat. All that being said, if the slaw had not been some of the worst we have ever eaten (or in this case, threw in the trash on the way out) we might return. I don't know how so much thought can be put into the chicken and then serve throw-away slaw. It was flat, tasteless and lacked salt. When I say flat, I mean there is a balance between sweet and vinegar that makes great slaw. In addition, they are using the chunky, bitter cabbage cores that have become so common in restaurants around here. I buy and eat cabbage at home on an almost daily basis as a part of salads. I never have this nasty strong cabbage. Where to they get it? This is as bad as it gets.One-half star for the slaw, two and a half for the chicken. Improve the salt in the chicken and start over on the slaw and this could jump to a four-star place, even with the too-heavy coating on the chicken.

Charcoal chicken is a nice healthy alternative to fast food when you want quick and on the go. You will find them in the Walmart shopping center off of South Lynnhaven, VB.They have a wide selection of food to choose from, from like Peruvian chicken, burritos, tacos, plantains, steak, rice n beans, French fries, Philly cheesesteak and more! Basically, something for everyone! The sides are all cooked so you can pick which sides you want with your meal. They are in their grand opening and the staff done a wonderful job with moving the lines along and answering questions sufficiently. So for the food.I got the 1/4 chicken rotisserie chicken with 2 sides. It came with a cilantro sauce too that was delicious, a little spicy but that's how I like it! The chicken was tender and flavorful. The fried rice side I got with it was tasty too. Wasn't greasy or salty. The black beans also were seasoned good.I can't wait to try the Mexican grill dishes. I hope they do good and stick around for a long time:

While thinking of something quick to grab for dinner, we decided to head to Feather-N-Fin. I hadn't tried it before but heard nothing but good things. The restaurant was very clean and thankfully, there wasn't much of a wait on a Tuesday night. As I looked over the menu, I was under impressed with the menu options. I asked if they had any combo dinners that included fish and shrimp or any other combinations and he said they don't offer that which was unfortunate because that's exactly what I wanted. I inquired about adding shrimp on the side of a dinner option and he mentioned the shrimp was $1.10 per piece. With the dinners already $13-14, I couldn't imagine spending almost $20 for a meal at a fish & chicken spot. After much consideration, I decided on the Fish Dinner with fries and coleslaw. I did ask about their mac and cheese but was told that it's just typical mac and cheese, nothing special, so I decided against it. Since the cakes looked pretty tasty, I also ordered the carrot cake. The Fish Dinner was pretty good. It's whiting fish and it comes with four pieces. I'm not a big fan of whiting but the fish was seasoned well and tasted fresh. The fries were very lightly salted but I did add their "Everything Rub" seasoning on them and it made them taste great! The coleslaw was actually creamy and delicious and I enjoyed it. The dinner comes with 3 hush puppies which contain corn and tasted wonderful. After our dinner, we tried the carrot cake and it was very good. The cake was moist and not too dense and even though it included raisins (which I hate lol), it still tasted very good. Overall, the food was alright for the most part. The staff was very friendly which I enjoyed. In my opinion, they should introduce combo dinners to the menu and also include drinks with the dinner options because they are not included. Not sure if I'll be stopping back in anytime soon but it's a decent spot if you have taste for some fried fish or chicken.

Brand new gas station here in Grandy! It's very big, lots of gas pumps. I'm even tempted to try the chicken (which for transitioning out of vegetarianism sounds funny). Gas prices are decent, it looks like it's about 15 cents less per gallon than a lot of the local gas stations nearby.

"Give me alllll the food here ! Found this place recently and so so glad I did! They had a steady stream of people coming in for pick up orders. They have a quarter chicken lunch special on weekdays. My husband got the half chicken with fries and fried rice... THE CHICKEN!!!!! My mouth is drooling just thinking of that chicken. So well seasoned and moist! I got the lomo Saltado with white rice and fries. The white rice was seasoned well and the gravy was delicious- the steak was a little tough. I would recommend putting the yellow and green sauces on it because they are so flavorful and delicious. The inside is nothing to write home about- simple decor, but the food makes up for it. Go here !!!! You are welcome"
"Cheaters chicken is one of the best gas station chickens you can find! I've personally been a Chester's Chicken fan for over 30 years. The breading on the chicken is perfect, the chicken always cooked to perfection. The jojo fries are the best I've ever had! Go now, find a Chester's Chicken by you and try them out!"
"This was the first time I have ordered catering and it worked out perfectly! It was easy to order online and it was all ready and nicely packaged up when I arrived. It was also ready at the time I requested. The staff was very pleasant too and offered to help walk it out to my car. I ordered their combo that included two chicken salad choices, one side and dessert for 12. There was plenty of chicken salad, crackers and there were 12 cookies. The side which was the grape salad was just enough and some people didn't take any. A larger serving of this would be nice. Everything tasted delicious and would use them for catering again!"
"I tried Raising Cane's for the first time. Not being familiar with the restaurant I chose to order my food inside the restaurant instead of online or through the drive through. I studied the overhead menu board then ordered The Caniac Combo which consists of six chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, a large fountain drink and sauce. The restaurant was pretty busy at the time but the short line moved pretty swiftly and I received my order in just a few minutes. Service was friendly and efficient and my order was accurate. I ordered togo so I appreciated them giving me my soda while I waited for the rest of my order. They informed me I could get free refills on the soda. Upon receiving my food I rushed home and prepared to see if my Raising Cane's experience would live up to the hype.I found the found to be okay but nothing special. The chicken fingers were delicious but no better than similar products from competing restaurants. They had a slight crisp to them. I really enjoyed the Cane's Sauce, it was the perfect compliment to the chicken. The fries were good in an average way. I enjoyed the Texas Toast though it doesn't travel well so after the ten minute ride home it was pretty soggy. The coleslaw was okay but would have been much better if it hadn't been in the same container with all the hot food. I enjoyed my meal but was disappointed in the limited menu options. You have to pay for the chicken fingers by the piece or get them in a combo meal that includes fries, coleslaw, toast and a soda I would prefer to see combos that only include chicken fingers and a side for less money (with tax my combo was well over $18) as I generally do not buy drinks. Overall, I would rate by experience at 3.5 stars rounding down for lack of perceived value."
"I think my favorite thing about Nash is there support of the local community, especially the music community. I've been here several times just for music related events alone. The beer and alcohol selection is always good, and service is fast and friendly. I've dined a handful of times and I've found the food tasty. Definitely what keeps drawing me back. Is there involvement in the community. It's located in a good area of downtown Greenville, North Carolina and there's the big uptown parking lot near by."
"After attending a Yelp event days prior, I thought it would be great to come back for a full meal with Sophia by my side. The weather was great for Sunday and we drove here after catching a movie. Question is would this be a legit experience or one where I would leave scratching my head in bewilderment? We were greeted by one of the employees when we walked to the counter. From there, you place your order either as dine-in or takeout. I ordered the Cordon Bleu chicken sandwich with a side of fries with Cajun seasoning and also a Reese Pieces cold fusion dessert. Everything was pretty good. The chicken sandwich had plenty working together. Hand breaded chicken, ham, honey mustard and Swiss cheese....good enough for me. The fries were well done with a good amount of Cajun seasoning to keep your taste buds afloat. I also had Nashville Hot, Korean BBQ and Honey Mustard dipping sauce for the fries. And the cold fusion dessert had a whole lot of Reeses Pieces mixed with their custard...say no more. Sophia ordered the Bacavo Ranch sandwich and gave it thumbs up on her end.Definitely not a bad meal for both of us. The drive was worth it and the vibe was pretty calm with music going and TVs full of sporting events to keep you interested. Can't ask for anything else. We will be back the next time we're in the area. Till next time :)"
"No pictures of our food for this review because the food was so, so good - and we totally wolfed it down. I was going to place a takeout order via Grubhub, but needed to ask a clarifying question - so I ended up placing my order over the phone since I had her on the line. The owner is super nice, very pleasant, and was very helpful in placing my order. My order was ready in 15 minutes as promised. If delicious crispy chicken with lots of flavor (and extra spice if you're into that kind of thing) is up your alley, then CM chicken is the spot for you. See you guys next time!"
"Heather was Awesome!! She helped us figure out what family meal we should get for 11of us traveling. She was very kind! The chicken was really good and freshly made along with biscuit and wedges! Delish!!"
"I like this place. Small spot, inside the grocery store. Order your food and pick out a table/seat. There's maybe 3 people working, food comes out fresh as cooked so you may not all get your meals at same time. Don't be in a rush for your food. Nice service. I definitely come back when I get back here."
"In Hampton visiting my Dad and we stopped in at Surf Rider for Seafood. Glad we did. Nice location on the marina. We started with the steamed oysters for an appetizer. It tasted fresh. For our entrees we had the steamed shrimp and boiled seafood platter. Both were excellent. The scallops, shrimp, fish, and crab cake tasted perfect with the old bay seasoning. Great service."
"Raising CanesINTRO: Fried Chicken tender fast food chain. The box combo- Contained four chicken tenders, coleslaw, fries, Texas toast and sauce. Drink was added. Food was good and it was definitely filling for one person. The sauce is perfect for both the tenders and fries.Parking/ location- Parking was easy to find since it was located in a mall.Ambience/service- Slightly on the busier side since it was during lunch time but the food came out hot and fresh. Located in a mall so the atmosphere was very much like a food court in any mall."
"Always a great experience eating at this place! A group of six of us came to dine around 5/5:30 and there was no wait. We were seated quickly and our waitress was amazing !!Their chicken is always perfectly tender and perfectly seasoned. I opted to get the house salad, which comes with various toppings. I did modify it to be without blue cheese and tomatoes, which was no issue at all. Overall, I will definitely be back to try their other menu items like their mac and cheese and chicken sandwiches!!"
"This is a small local restaurant that was highly recommended to us by friends who know the meaning of good food! This friendly, family owned eatery offers great comfort food. Their main dishes include Mac-n-cheese and chicken tender entrees. Be sure to plan your order ahead because they close early and out closed Sunday & Monday. While the Freaky fries entree was delicious, we weren't a fan of the beer cheese brat Mac that was a special that day. So, we'll be sure to order something different next time. We will definitely be back very soon for more comfort food and to support this family business!"
"This review is on behalf of my boyfriend. We have driven by this nondescript little restaurant many times, but never stopped. Today two of the boys were working in the vicinity and decided to grab some take-out from Taylor's, simply as a matter of convenience. They ordered burgers & fries. Which I then had to hear about for 20 minutes. (Hence this review. I wanted to shut him up). He says they were among the best burgers ever. He said there were tons of desserts, too, however he didn't sample those. I'll be making the voyage soon and will put my two cents in."
"Great local spot for north Carolina cooking, they have all kinds of entree, different types of bbq, roasted turkey wings, fried chicken and etc. Long line during lunch so you know locals like it. Their gravy is very salty so beware. Interior is old asf, the whole strip mall is outdated but you don't have to dine in. Most people order to go and enjoy the food at the comfort at their home."
"OMG, we loved Kings - definitely a must stop if you're in the area.I ordered a couple of Chix Thighs that came with one of their delicious Cat Head Cheese biscuits, also a side of Hush Puppies and a small Sweet Potato Pie.Super nice staff, huge menu and delicious southern food. Everything was so yummy and definitely the best sweet potato pie I've ever had. So yep, we'll be back, next time we're in NC."
"The food is always good and the customer service is just as great! They are incredibly kind and my dad drives 4 hours down here and won't go home without an order!"
"Marvelous place with good food and great service! Naturally we had the fried chicken, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We're coming back for the catfish!"
"Love the chicken! Their style of potatoes is now a fav, and we love the mac n cheese. We are greeted when we arrive and we feel so blessed these fine folks make a great dinner for us to serve at home THANK YOU!"
"They always have great customer service here. Everything was ready super fast. Very friendly and helpful!"
"The Man At The Counter Was Nice. You Can Tell By The Warmers That The Food Was Going To Be Delicious & That It Was"
