"Food is quality!! Made a pretty bug order for the family and everyone was happy! Inside is clean and the workers are super helpful!!"
"It's been over four years since my original review of Dominic's of New York so it's high time for an update. I am upgrading my score to a full five stars. For what it is (basically a glorified food cart) the food and service are amazing and provide a decent value. Dominic's is a food stand in front of Lowe's home improvement store. It's basically in the parking lot so there are no tables or chairs and you need to be aware of cars driving behind you. They take cash and credit cards. This is strictly a takeout business, you can take it home or eat it in your car. They've been at this location for many years and make it so convenient to grab a delicious hot sandwich on your way out of the store or even make it a destination if you're tired of the usual nearby fast food options. They offer a variety of hot sandwiches and subs (chicken cheesesteaks, gyros, hotdogs, cheeseburgers, Italian sausage, pastrami, even a portabella mushroom sub if you want a vegetarian option) but honestly, the Philly cheesesteaks are so delicious I've never had the inclination to order the other items. The subs come in regular and large portions and they prepare them fresh in front of you while you wait. They don't skimp on the ingredients so you will get plenty of meat and cheese and and topping with lots and lots of deliciousness. You can make it a combo by adding a bag of chips and a soda. My wife loves the Philly steak and cheese so much she'll occasionally order me to make a special trip just to get her one.I moved to Hampton Roads after spending eight years in Philly so I know a thing or two about a genuine Philadelphia cheesesteak. This isn't it. While Dominic's tender and very flavorful product comes reasonably close it falls slightly short owing mostly to the bread. The fresh Amoroso roll (Amoroso's Baking Company is a local staple in the Philadelphia area) is generally the roll of choice for genuine cheesesteaks served in that area. In my opinion, the bread makes a huge difference. Other rolls tend to be more soggy when laden with the ingredients of your typical cheesesteaks. In any case, Dominic's still puts out a fabulous cheesesteak, one of my favorites in the area. Over the years there have been different young men behind the flat top grill but every one of them has been very friendly and efficient. They all seem to enjoy what they are doing and easily engage their customers in pleasant conversation while preparing an order. You're waiting outside exposed to the elements but even if it's cold or raining a little it's still a pleasing experience. Rest assured, the wait is always worth it."
"This place is phenomenal! Great hoagies and cheesesteaks! Just eat here. You won't regret it!"
"I've been looking for decent steamed dumplings in the area. So far these, along with the ones at Jing Jing, are top contenders!"
"Some days a good beef hotdog is needed. This was the day. I called it in asked for grilled onions, chili cheese ketchup and mustard and it was yummy yummy in my tummy!!!! The local hotdog places only serve raw onions. So I was excited when he said yes that he would grill them. I believe it was about $6 or $7. Quick cheap fix to satisfy those midday work cravings."
"Good variety of food to choose from, good service, never have any issues when I visit. Not a lot of seating inside of plenty outside. I usually order my food to go."
"Perhaps, I should have known better than to have "New York Style" expectations for a Newport News pizzeria, but I allowed myself to be persuaded that it was possible. A city boy raised in The Apple and now living close by Philly, I have been spoiled by great Italian food at every street corner, and forgot how difficult it is to prepare great standards from The Boot. We were looking for familiar comfort food while visiting nearby family and fell into Vinny's on Oyster Point. We all wanted slices as an appetizer and a secondary dish like salad or sandwich. Three of us asked for regular slices, in my case, well done. Our fourth asked for a Veggie Slice along with Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken (x3), while I went with the Eggplant Parm Sandwich on torpedo roll. My slice came from a new pie out of the oven. Plenty hot, but droopy from jump, with melted mozzarella cheese out of proportion to the sauce and a limp crust that could not hold its weight. Well done, it was not. Disappointing. Apparently, the veggie slice (looked like salad on top) was okay, but had to be eaten with knife and fork to minimize fall off. My people enjoyed the salad plates and there was plenty of chicken. My eggplant was decent; seemed to be lightly breaded and panned before entry onto roll, with good red sauce and enough mozza to seal everything beneath to hold in the heat. The roll wasn't much, so I ate the rest and left the bread behind. No need to consume calories if the taste and texture were lightweight. The shop itself was typical pizza parlor modern, and the service was pleasant and helpful. The place was busy and seemed successful."

"I got takeout from The Philly Cheesesteak Cafe. Theres street parking out front. While waiting someone hit my daughters car. So make sure you leave enough space, because some people can't parallel park!!You can order online, by phone, or in person. Our order only took about 15 mins. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. My kids got cheesesteak subs and i got fish with hot honey sauce and fries. I enjoyed my fish, but beware there are bones. The sauce was really tasty. Their housemade spicy sauce was pretty good also. They sell it by the bottle if you wanna take some home. My kids enjoyed their subs, but i thought it was slightly salty. It was still good though. The prices are reasonable and the portion of fish i got was plentiful. They're a decent place to eat at. Check them out!!!"
"If you like local hot dog places, you'll love Sam's.The all-beef dogs were great, the homemade chili was exceptional, and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!"
"Every time we go to Lowes my husband talks about eating a sandwich from here. It always smells amazing! So today he got the Italian sausage and I got the cheeseburger. I personally didn't like it much, but my husband thought it was a delicious sausage sandwich, just like the ones you get in New York streets. They prepared the food pretty fast and price was decent."
"I guess they changed their name to ATL Wings which makes sense now because ATL Deli wasn't giving a good impression.... So we came for late night eats and just wanted wings. It was about 45 minutes to closing time but we made it out of there with 30 wings that were still hot and crispy when we got home. I don't know what everyone is talking about but the wings we had were good! I really liked the Honey Lemon Pepper and the Lemon Pepper was pretty standard. I do have to say, though, that their Medium Hot wings werent the best. Something is off about it but it did its job. Maybe bc we were hungry, not sure but, I won't order them again. Also, the Ranch dressing is off, too. Definitely not the creamy, thick Hidden Valley ranch dressing you're used to. Again, it did its job but I won't request it next time. Wing size are average, btw. They have burgers and gyros here but I wouldn't say I'm inclined to try either but rather just stick to the wings. Don't expect any fancy decor. Best way I can describe it is that it's set up like a typical take-out Chinese joint but they serve wings instead. It's in the middle of a strip mall so there's lots of parking."

Really delicious sandwiches made up fresh to order. They also have milkshakes and crinkle cut fries. Service was friendly and the shop was clean. A tastier alternative to the usual chain sub shops.

One thing that I know is to never judge a book by its cover when it comes to how a restaurant looks from the exterior. In this case a food stand outside of a hardware store. The smell drew me in the first time while visiting Lowe's and so glad I took a chance. A line is always a good sign that there are likely regulars and that spells something good is going on. The menu is posted on the outside and is simple fair type with burgers, sausages & cheesesteaks. The one young guy running the grille was friendly and recommended the cheesesteaks which I gotta say as a lover was suspicious. However I was willing to risk it on the off chance this food stand in a parking lot could actually deliver a fabulous steak. The price was affordable for a footling around $10 and added a bottle water and tip came to $13+The cheesesteak was completed in around 8 minutes wrapped up and in a bag with napkins. I popped it open in the car and was amazed at the pure size and amount of meat. The smell was glorious with steam waffling above. The bread was fresh and authentic to Philly. The only thing left was a bite and it did not disappoint one bit, just wowzers! It was good enough to return prior to writing a review. It ended up being a carbon copy of my success with another incredibly delicious cheesesteak. This time I used a nearby picnic table to enjoy. This is a chain food stand. The owner has two located at Lowe's in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach on Holland Rd. If you love cheesesteaks then Dominic's delivers a masterpiece and you will not be disappointed.A 4.5 rounding up and later learned Yelp friend Terry was a super fan of their steaks which was cool. Great friendly hoagie shop! We had the hoagies made to go as we were going to eat them later and they made sure to put the mayo on the side. The hoagies were full of meat and the toppings we desired. The hoagie roll was also very good. Inside there was a row of booths to sit. The man and woman who were in the shop that day were nice and friendly.

So recently moved to NN and have been slowly exploring "Chinese" takeout places. So thought I'd give it try. Wow, what can I say. I've had a fair amount of "Chinese" takeout, some great, some mediocre, some not so good. My experience here hit a new low and now I can add the category of completely terrible. Ordered chicken teriyaki; so burnt and overcooked it was hard as a brick. Tossed it. Chicken wings, same. General's chicken, what a pitiful version. Soggy substance that I guess was chicken in a really zero flavor sauce. Not sure what was going on, maybe having a bad day, but it was the day I happened to order from them, and will never return. Moving on.

Good spot. Great service. Try the egg rolls. Onion rings were awesome. Bread was a bit soft for my liking otherwise spot on. Would go back tomorrow if I was local. Beats a Jersey Mikes chain style place.

Okay. I was born and raised in Philadelphia. Just moving here thought I'd give them a chance. They say the owner is from Philly so yeah, this may be good. Wrong. Several things. One that stands out is the kiosk (eye roll). I cannot say no salt and pepper on it. I can't say much. We ordered two cheese steaks and two onion rings. 1) the cheesesteaks were slightly salty. They were not filled like the ones from Max's or Jim's or Paganos in Philly. The beefiness was missing. He could add cooper sharp cheese to the menu. 2) The onion rings would have tasted better if he did not use his bare hands and eat one from our order. Yes sir. I saw you and it was not cool. 3) The bar with the pickles and peppers was SAD and looked unsafe. Sorry. Pre package them and add them to the kiosk. I don't t know what part of Philly you are from ( west, north, south, uptown, chestnut hill, germantown, brickyard) or other but this was nothing reflective of those places. It's like you open a Jamaican store and dumb down the spices because someone says the rice and peas is too spicy. People here may love it, but this Jawn knows the truth.

"Baba's Pizzeria is located in the shopping center across the street from Target in Edinburgh. We've dined in and ordered take out, both on busy Friday nights.- Parking - Center lot.- TLC -It's a family run business and the service was friendly and courteous.- Noms - NY Style Combo Pizza (4 toppings) - pepp, sausage, green peppers, jalapenosMeat amore pizza - pepp, sausage, bacon hamThe pizzas have a good amount of toppings and I really liked the crust. Eggplant Parmigiana - comes with garden salad (iceberg, romaine, shredded carrots, red onion, green pepper, raw mushrooms, shredded mozz cheese, olives) with choice of dressing (we chose balsamic) and garlic bread. The eggplant parm is two pieces of breaded eggplant topped with marinara and cheese. Spaghetti comes on the side. The sauce was tasty and tasted homemade. It was quite delicious and a generous serving.- Kids - I know I've mentioned this before in previous reviews, but I really dislike how restaurants give crappy options for kids, like kids menus are an afterthought. However, kids menus at Italian restaurants often reflect the same offerings for adults, because who doesn't love pastas, so it's a win here. My kids have had their pizzas, alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs, all winners both according to my kids and us! Baba's Pizzeria is a great option for before/after shopping or the movies or simply a takeout meal on a busy night!Enjoy, Friends, and never stop exploring!"
"I ordered a 12" cheesesteaks and corned beef Reuben sandwich with side of fries. The cheesesteak was delicious with the right grease and condiments. Only gripe I have is that the meat was not evenly spread in the bun, which kinda lacking meat on both ends of the bun. However, the taste was spot on. The corned beef reuben sandwich was delicious as well but again the spread of the meat inside the bread is uneven. The side of fries were hot but it's plain - no salt or any type of seasonings. Some may like it but I like my fries with some seasonings. The dining area is also interesting, a Philly bar inspired decor and very friendly staff. They had bulgogi on the menu which I find it interesting. I will absolutely try other items in the menu as I just recently found this place in my area. Nonetheless, highly recommended to fellow yelpers!"
"The food is delicious. The price is perfect. The service is fast and friendly. And the ambiance is casual but warm. I highly recommend the parm chicken lumpia with the marinara."
"Korean fried chicken, legit Korean ramen. If it were a bit more spicy I'd be there every week."
"Philly is a far drive, but at least I can satisfy my cravings with a decent cheesesteak from a local restaurant. I like the online ordering process, but you can also call in your order if you're trying to grab a quick bite. There are always plenty of seats available if you need to dine in. Service is always great (both in-store and over the phone). They really do their best to keep your cheesesteak piping hot upon pick-up. Get the cheese fries. It reheats to perfection in the air fryer even if you have leftovers. These bad boys stay crunchy for a while though as I used to live 20 mins away and still able to enjoy a crisp when I bite into them upon arrival to my [home] destination. Also, get the biggy 16" size. I microwave the 3/4 I couldn't eat for 20-30 sec, then bake in a conventional toaster oven for 8-10 mins at 350F or 300F. You can add whatever topping, however much you want. I personally pay extra for mushrooms because I'm a fun[guy](?). I love this place. Location, service, ease of parking, quality of food, and consistency."
"My family's favorite and go to pizza place - we LOVE this place. We usually get the medium meat lovers pizza. It's enough for both of us and a couple of slices for leftovers. Staff is very kind and friendly. We have never eaten inside as we usually get takeout so not too much to comment on the inside."
"Mister Jim's is an original tenant of Wilson Village Shopping Center at the corner of South Battlefield Boulevard and Johnstown Road in Chesapeake. They have been a staple of the Great Bridge community since 1972. To stay in business for fifty years they have obviously been doing a lot of things right. They've managed to adapt with the changing times over the years and greatly expand their menu offerings from their original twelve items. They now offer everything from submarine sandwiches (including Philly-style), burgers, gyros and deli-style sandwiches, square pan pizzas, salads, boneless wings, appetizers and soft drinks to cookies and more. They offer indoor dining at comfortable booths and outdoor dining at tables under cover of a roof. There is no table service indoors or out. You place your order at the counter then pick it up at the same counter after they notify you via pager it's ready. At my last visit there were no paper menus available but there are large LCD menu screens overhead. Staff is always friendly and professional. On my last visit, they were very busy and it took about thirty minutes for my order to be completed. I didn't complain because I could see how busy they were and how hard everyone was working. As the young lady handed me my subs she apologized for the delay and offered me a free cookie. I really appreciated the gesture and my wife and I really enjoyed the cookie. I have patronized Mister Jim's many times over the years, mostly orders for delivery to my job but occasionally I'll swing by the restaurant and pick up something to take home. The food is always fresh and delicious. Some of my favorites are the Cajun Chicken Sub, Mister Jim's Special Sub, Tuna and Cheese Sub, Chesapeake Jubilee Sub, Sloppy Joe Sub and City Hall Burger. I also love the fresh cut fries and the onion rings. They have a nice variety of cookies, they are huge and really delicious. My favorite is the lemon blueberry cookie but I don't see it on the menu now so I don't know if they still offer it or not. Other cookies I love are the white chocolate macadamia nut and oatmeal raisin. Cookies are sold singly, in packs of three or by the dozen. They're all fresh and delicious. While writing this review I realized I have never tried the pizza at Mister Jim's. I'm not sure why I've never tried it but it is something I will definitely have to do soon."
"If your lucky enough to stop in when they have the fresh blackend tuna salad special, it's a must have! The Philly and hand cut fries never disappoint. Friendly folks with great service! If your on the way down to the OBX for vacation don't miss out! If your a local then you already know what's up."
"I love the people. This restaurant is so nice and the have the best food. You can tell everything is made from scratch and has the freshest ingredients. My go to is the chicken Greek salad but their cheesesteaks don't miss either. Definitely a 10/10 must try!"
"Famous subs I like your food famous subs because y'all make it so toasty and yummy and the reasen why I like your food cause it is so hot!"
"Yummy Food. The fries were great. Service was great. The best Philly Steak sub I have had, ever. The ambience was that of local sports bar."
"I ordered for delivery and received within the estimated time frame. Quick and easy process, decent price for a big pizza. The pizza itself was pretty good in my opinion! I like the crust and the taste. My issue is we got a meat lovers pizza and they were pretty skimpy with the meat. It felt like there was barely any meat and then on top of it, the sliced meatballs were rotten. They tasted absolutely foul. I don't know how they keep track of the freshness of the meats but this one definitely slipped through the cracks. We removed all the visible pieces of meatball from the pizza but some were still buried beneath the cheese and it really overpowers the entire bite of the pizza. I would still order from here again but would make sure I don't have meatballs on it because I am traumatized now."
"My retired parents live in Yorktown, so I visit them from time to time. When stopping by the local Lowe's store to pick up some supplies, I noticed there's a sub shack by the exit door. I'd never seen anything like that at a big box store.Dominic's of New York has the best cheesesteak and best Italian sausage and peppers sub I've ever eaten! It's not healthy food, but everything is fresh. I wish every Lowe's had a Dominic's!"
"Food was very good. Made to order and fresh. Great portion sizes. The service was friendly and quick. And the vibe was relaxed. A couple of tables but definitely a carry out spot. I had the ox tail, Philly and chicken cheesesteak. All are very good. The ox tail is definitely worth it. If you are in the area and are craving a good sandwich. This is the place for you. Call ahead the food is made to order. Will take about 15 mins."
"The food is always fresh and delicious!!! The service is always top notch love my service with a smile and Iggles definitely serve those smiles!!!! The vibes are super chill walls decorated with team paraphernalia and old time sport memories!!! I always get a regular Philly when I come in but they have plenty options to choose from !!! If you're ever in the area definitely check them out!!!"
"We were a little shocked to walk in exactly at noon on a Friday and see this restaurant completely empty. Because of that I can't say much about the service - it was quick and friendly but then again, there was no one else to attend to. We started with garlic knots, but no sooner had we ordered that the server brought us out hot rolls. I don't mean to complain, because those rolls were some of the best hot rolls I have ever had, but if we had known we were going to get bread to start we probably wouldn't have doubled up on the carbs right away!My friend got the lasagna with a side salad, and I got a small chicken ceasar salad and a pepperoni stromboli, planning ahead for leftovers. As we were waiting, the garlic knots came out, and they were delicious. Too many places drown their knots in oil, but these were fluffy with just a little oil and just enough garlic. The real star, though, was the sauce. The dipping sauce is to die for! I'd like to order a few jugs to keep at home for my own pasta. In the meantime, a gentleman came in to dine alone, but it was still empty and awkward. While waiting for the food, I started noticing some small issues. The decor could really use an update - the interior is bland and a little dingy. Dirty ceiling tiles. Old, sometimes stained silk flowers on the tables. Not every table had salt and pepper. There was no music playing, so it was very quiet. It needs a pop of color and some new decor to really make it homey and comfortable. I will say, though, that the kitchen and server areas looked spotless. The food came out fairly quickly and was, like the garlic knots, subtle and delicious. I had some of the best grilled chicken I've ever had on a salad. As for the lasagna, I thought the sauce was a little sour, but my friend said she enjoyed it. My stromboli was good, and their pepperoni had a nice flavor, but it was a little undercooked for my taste. It was strange - it looked crispy, but it wasn't. A little crunch would have really taken it over the top. All in all, I'm not sure why Dante's isn't more busy. Sure, the place needs a refresh, and the server could use a little more training on the menu and how to give really good customer service, but the food is delicious. I also forgot to mention the prices - Dante's prices are excellent. Many things are around $10 for lunch, and that's cheaper than most fast food! If you're in the area, pop in and give them a try. I'll definitely be going back to try some of their other offerings, like a wrap or a sub."
"Am I the only one who didn't know that Charleys has locations outside of malls? Anyways, I'm glad they do because it's way more convenient! This location is fairly new, so new that it still had the balloons up from opening day. The facility was relatively clean as well. Javien behind the counter took our order for us-- he was very friendly and thorough! Our orders came exactly how we ordered them, and we made extra requests to add/ remove certain toppings. My husband enjoyed his Philly Cheesesteak (he also added jalapeño), and I really liked the Pepperoni Cheesesteak though my husband begged to differ, lol. And those CHEESE FRIES! Amazing. I can foresee myself coming here just for the fries.I think they're still working out some kinks as we heard the manager fussing at the employees a little bit. But I'm sure they'll get it worked out in no time! We'll definitely be back!"
"We had 5 orders placed for my coworkers and I. The lady on the the phone was pleasant and respectful. She said it would be a 25m wait. When I arrived, there was a long line of people waiting as well as people enjoying their food. By the time I got to the front, my order was already done. All of my coworkers were very content with their Philly cheesesteak. I, on the other hand, had the chicken cheesesteak with sweet peppers and onions (12"). It was extremely flavorful and so juicy that the oil seeped through the paper lol. Putting it in the toaster oven for later tonight. Great eats for sure!"
"Stopped in while looking for a mini-mart, my daughter and I ordered a breakfast sandwich on a bagel made to order. Decent price, excellent breakfast sandwich. Very happy!"
