"Nice sandwiches and ice cream. Old fashioned friendly service. They change watch batteries for the price of the battery. Lots of things to browse."
"Wow! I cannot believe that The Royal Chocolate has been right around the corner from me for almost two years and I just found out about it. This is definitely the best specialty, gourmet candy shop in Virginia Beach. I was killing some time and needed to shop for stocking stuffers, so stumbled inside and was immediately greeted by two things: a decadent scent and incredibly friendly employees. The customer service was what was most impressive to me. Every person working seemed happy to be there and happy to help their customers. I ordered an array of items and spent quite a bit of time chatting with the gentleman who helped me.I ordered a few of their gorgeous apples, a 6-pack of their beautiful truffles and a few of their homemade chocolate treats. I can't actually comment on taste quite yet -- that will come after Christmas, but since I did have a few little samples in store, I feel pretty darn confident that everything will be perfection."
"We came here specifically for the saltwater taffy and it did not disappoint! Flavors for days and you can fill your own bag with what you want and however much you want. They also have fancy chocolates and fudge. Fairly priced too!"
"I didn't personally visit the store.G went to the Outer Banks and was so sweet to bring me back some salt water taffy! I was a bit hesitant to try these at first. I had two previous salt water taffy experiences (not from here) and they weren't positive. The taffy I tried awhile back was rock hard and lacked flavor. These on the other hand were delicious! Super fresh, soft, nice chew, and flavorful. I love all the fun colors and there's plenty in a box to share with all. I'm grateful for this yummy surprise! Thanks G :)"
"Little York Confectionery on Main Street in Yorktown's historic area has been open since May. It's a cute candy shop with both handmade chocolates and pre-packaged candies, including some that will take you back to your childhood. The staff are kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. If you're in Yorktown and looking for some delicious candy or refreshing ice cream, go up to Main Street to this cute shop. It's worth the walk up the hill from the beach."
"What a gem! This candy shop have everything and I wanted everyone:) customer service friendly, nice & clean. I ordered some speciality sodas & chocolate covered chips one of my favorites from Japan. Would definitely visit again if in the area."
"THANK YOU FOR EXISTING! I wish I had a bigger wad of cash to dump in here! TAKE MY MONEYS!!!!I wanted to buy EVERYTHING!But, I bought a rainbow Narhwal (Unicorn whale) and it's sitting atop my wardrobe thingy here in Boston! Mom dumped a wad of cash here also! Also, when I was here, I opened my Pokemon Go app, which has multiple PokeStops here AND I GOT 2 SHINY POKEMON!This was an AWESOME PLACE TO GO ON MY VACATION WITH MY PARENTS! THANK YOU!!!!I WILL TRY TO COME BACK AGAIN!"
"6/26/20"Follow your nose, it always knows." Well the sweet smell of sugar, chocolate, vanilla and brown sugar are an unbeatable, extremely tempting and unhealthy treat hips, butt, thighs and blood pressure will thank you for...no it won't...., but oh so good.Even with a mask on, the nose can still smell the smell of brown sugar. I love it. The smell draws you in and your other body senses kick in. I saw many things that look nice, my mind did not get tempted until I saw the traditional New Orleans pralines. Had to buy two of these bad boys. The combination of these with sparkling water or just plan water is delicious. One of the managers there wanted to sell me a more than two. I told him if he can eat as many of these things as possible, I would buy just as many. He didn't go for that. His diabetes would won't allow such a thing.Neither would mine. A few bites and I saved the rest for several other days. Just finished mine today. This place is very cool, but very tempting. I do like the signs of the owner of this business doing cover shots of different movies or books. We will most likely be back.Good times great food, even if it is bad for you."
"I was surprised to happen upon this place tucked away in the Norfolk Premium Outlets. The design was very similar to the one in Cape Charles. Woah!! Come to find out, it's owned by the same people! I had no idea we had a piece of this awesome candy store so close to home. They have just about everything the Cape Charles location has... and actually more.. They serve ICE CREAM in addition to their delicious fudge. There is a great selection of pretty much any candy you can imagine here. There are also lots of craft sodas, fudge flavors, chocolate bars, novelty candy, saltwater taffy, and more! Their selections change sometimes, so keep checking in and see what's up!!I have yet to try their ice cream, but someone stop in and give it a taste!! I'll give it a try at some point. But I'm really happy to have this place so close to home because usually I have to wait for my yearly trip to Cape Charles. Love it!!!"

Best ham and cheese sandwiches in the world no competition. Been eating then since I was 5. Fresh squeezed orange aide or limeades. They squeeze them right in front of you. They still do hand scooped ice cream including my favorites lemon and black cherry. The pimento cheese is sooooo good. The staff is always friendly and most of them have been there since I was a child. They sell a variety of things including John Deer toys for kids that are very nicely priced. The pharmacy is fast and efficient. Still ran by Mr. Woodard himself. I took my fiancé there and now every time he visits he wants to go to the pharmacy to eat lol definitely check this place out. One of the last few places of its kind.

I've had the pleasure of visiting The Royal Chocolate ever since they opened and it has always been a delightful experience from start to finish. This charming, locally owned shop is a true gem for specialty confections. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a fantastic smell of fresh chocolate and sugared nuts. Behind the glass, there is an array of delectable truffle flavors that are simply mouthwatering. I've also enjoyed their assortment of drinks and chocolate fondue - a real treat for any chocolate lover. What truly sets The Royal Chocolate apart is the exceptional quality of their chocolates. It's evident that they take great pride in crafting each piece. The chocolates here make for the perfect gift for any occasion, be it a birthday, anniversary, or simply to brighten someone's day.On the occasions when I've stopped in, it's typically been to pick up a sweet treat for a friend, and the staff has always been incredibly helpful and friendly. Moreover, they have a cozy seating area where you can sit and savor your chocolatey finds in a relaxed atmosphere. The Royal Chocolate is not just a shop; it's an experience filled with chocolatey wonders, warm hospitality, and a cozy ambiance. I wholeheartedly recommend paying them a visit. You won't be disappointed!

Cute place to get a slice of fudge and some ice cream. Lots of souvenirs to take home and the stuff is a little more high end than the big box stores. They fashioned a pickup area for take out ice cream with some doors (see pic). Also loved their bulk taffy and outdoor seating.

FOODWe had their mint and strawberry ice creams in a cone and their cherry sorbet. All were absolutely delicious. The mint was classic, and the cherry sorbet was refreshing. However, the strawberry flavor took the cake. The strawberries were pureed to perfection and blended into the ice cream seamlessly.SERVICEThe staff are kind and friendly!AMBIANCELocated in historic Yorktown, Little York Confectionery is a charming addition to the area. Not the widest selection, but of course everything is delicious. (It's fudge! Even the shittiest fudge in the world is still going to be tasty.)One cool thing -- you can see them actually preparing the fudge on the marble tables. And if you buy 2 pounds, you get 1 pound of vanilla for free. Or if you buy 3 pounds, you get a 4th pound of any flavor for free.

"I have been in this candy shop three times now. I love them. They are small, but there is a little bit of everything inside. Staff has always been great! Super helpful and friendly. I always pick up some fudge while I am there. I enjoy it a lot. They were nice enough to ship my friend some in Alaska. The shipping was under $10 too which is amazing!!!! My friend's parents enjoyed the fudge once it arrived. I'm they have dog treats as well.If you are thirsty there is beverages including water inside in a cooler. If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to stop in and grab something to tame that sweet tooth."
"Needed a couple old time photo mats for some photos i got in monterey.Saw this place on yelp and visited their website. Now i got what i needed in a timely manner for a reasonable price.Very nice!"
"White Trash! And no, that's not a slur -- it's a mix of Chex, pretzels and other stuff covered in a glorious white chocolate. What you say? Chocolate at a nut company? Yes - and it's the best place in town to get it. We get some every time we vacation in OBX and the conversation goes something like this - "Let's try not to eat all of it before vacation is over." We always fail. On our most recent visit, we also picked up some of their truffles which were fantastic. Great little decadent dessert to have with a glass of champagne overlooking the ocean. They're obviously more known for their nut mixes, but I've only ever really warmed up to the butter toasted pecans. The service is always super friendly and it's a nice vacation treat. But be prepared, we always end up shelling out at least $50 when we are in this store - it's pricey."
"Delightful little ice cream shop in the heart of Suffolk. We stopped after walking around Lake Mead Park. We were immediately greeted when walking in the door, the respectful addressing as "ma'am" and "sir" to me and my husband was also super refreshing, as in today's food service industry, you don't get that much anymore!! The shop doesn't hold a lot of people. 2 other families walked in at the same time we were there, but it was fine. Just noting for people who like to stay and chill. The ice cream wasn't as creamy as I had hoped, but still very nice! Would return!"
""SUGAR..."Came here with my son to get some sweets on his birthday. SO MANY SWEETS-- lots of bulk bins from which to fill your self-serve baggies. These included wrapped candies like smarties & Nerds, chocolate covered nuts/ raisins, all sorts of gummies and sour gummies, every flavor of saltwater taffy, boston baked beans, jelly beans, and so much more. BUT there's more -- ice cream... chocolate truffles... fudge... candies inside toys... it really is a sugar-lover's paradise. We bought a lot... will be buzzing for the coming week for sure. The other half of the store seemed to be more clothes-oriented, and we didn't explore it. It's not the cheapest candy, but it's super convenient and nicely laid out.But if you're in Nags Head and looking for one-stop-shop for ALL your sweets needs, and maybe willing to spend a bit extra, this is the place to go."
"Nice set up of ice cream and chocolate. Bit expensive but worth it. Clean store and more roomy."
"They have the finest chocolate cigars!!! We had a choice of dark chocolate and bubble gum so we got both!"
"First- I cannot say enough about the GREAT customer service I received!! I didn't catch the ladies name but she was excellent. She offered samples of ice cream flavors, variations to the sundae I requested which came out great! I cannot believe I didn't know about this place before. It's a must try if you like ice cream or candy. The store has a variety of candy, toys and ice cream. It has one small table to sit at. It's a kids dream! The sundae I ordered was a little pricy $7.95 but once you see the picture of how big it is you'll understand Lol. It was a strawberry shortcake sundae and I couldn't finish it all."
"This was the closest ice cream spot to our rental beach house, and several kids in our party had already worn a trail here over the week. We all finally made a visit on our last night in Duck, as sort of a final, sweet send-off.The interior is basically a large, open kitchen with a counter in front, so you can watch them make fudge. They also offer a few other goodies on the side, including Edy's ice cream. Unfortunately they only had about 6 flavors, and my beloved chocolate chip was not among them. I ordered a chocolate-vanilla swirl instead, and it was dense, very rich and tasty, though I've been spoiled by better (double rainbow, for instance). The server was nice and offered to let us try some fudge for free. I tried the dark chocolate with nuts - also quite delectable, but I'm not a big fudge fan and opted not to buy any. All that remained was a walk home amongst friends in the cool night air with the stars overhead. Sweet indeed."
"Only one person was working the day our family came for ice cream. He was moving slowly but steadily through all the people in line before us. The ice cream was decent."
"We stumbled across this cute little shop when walking off our lunch from Blue Point.I didn't look much at their wine selection, but I fell in love with their variety of fun, quirky, and old fashioned candies. They have the usual chocolates and fudge, but I really enjoyed the different licorices we got, along with the roll of Haribo gummy discs (it's like a gummy bear in coin shape. who knew?). They also carry a personal favorite of mine: chocolate coconut patties that I previously was only able to find in Florida. I had a caramel covered marshmallow (one of the pre-fab, pre-wrapped ones out in the store, not one from behind the case), and it was a bit dry and lackluster. Everything else was fine, though. The guy in the shop was super friendly, and shockingly did not seem angry to have tourists in his store, giving him money in exchange for edibles. The verdict: Stop in and see if you can find your favorite hard-to-find candy."
"Lol! 4 star stuckeys! Peanut nougat bars?? I've never had one. I stopped here , quite off my usual beaten path and the bathroom was spotless! There was even a shower room! (This may be a truck stop in disguise)The girl are register was super nice and friendly . The store was a cluttered convenience store no doubt(with non descript gas pumps out front)But it was clean!Bought sparklers for 69 cents too"
