James H. "Aromas Coffeehouse is a delightful little spot that offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, featuring excellent coffee and food. As soon as you step inside, you're enveloped in the intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed espresso. The decor has a quirky, eclectic vibe with mismatched furniture, brick walls, and local artwork adorning the space. It feels very homey and comfortable - the kind of place you could linger for hours over a good book or to get some work done. The mix of cozy couches and tables makes it easy to find the perfect nook.Of course, the coffee is the star of the show. They use premium beans sourced from around the world and roasted locally. Whether you go for a simple drip coffee, a velvety latte, or one of their creative house specials like the hazelnut white mocha, you can expect a delicious, high-quality brew. The staff are knowledgeable about their offerings and happy to make recommendations. The food menu features freshly baked pastries, sandwiches, salads and snacks that pair perfectly with the coffee. Some standout items are the flaky quiche, the hearty breakfast burritos, and the indulgent chocolate raspberry bread pudding. In addition to hot drinks, Aromas has a great selection of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, iced coffees and teas for the warmer months. While the vibe is relaxed, service can be a bit slow, during high summer season, due to the small size of the shop. However, that's a minor issue considering the charm and quality Aromas delivers.Whether you're a Williamsburg local or just visiting this historic, colonial town, this charming, cozy spot is well worth stopping into for a truly enjoyable coffee experience. Just ensure you leave plenty of time to savor the experience."

Deanna B. "Delicious food, fantastic service, and one happy group of siblings. Each year that we travel to the Outer Banks, we forget to make reservations in a weeks in advance - if you want to eat here, I recommend doing so. However, upon our arrival, a kind couple was nice enough to move so that our party of seven could occupy the rest of the bar. We started off with the shrimp appetizer, the brussels sprouts, and the ciabatta. All delicious and well-portioned. For dinner, we had the ribeye, the tuna, the pork chop special with peaches, the lamb, the shrimp and grits, the crabcakes, the Mezze plate, and the portobello mushroom pasta dish. Everyone was very happy - especially the vegetarian in our group. We finished the night with a spiced pineapple cake, a peaches and cream cake and cannoli pie. All good - not our favorite part of the meal, but good. A solid evening out with great service!!"

Especially on a day with perfect weather, you can sit outside on the covered patio and enjoy mimosas!Mimosas 5/5: I've lost track of all the flavors I've tried. But my favorite is the lavender! OG fried rice 6/5: I can't help but get the same dish every time. It's just too good. The rice is so good and crispy! Rosemary biscuits 5/5: I first tried this with their soup of the day. In the fall they have butternut squash soups. They'll had a small cut of their biscuit to the order. You can order the biscuits alone, they're sooooo good and made fresh. They also have drink happy hours each day of the week' not sure what times since I never make it. Breakfast specials from 7-10am, includes coffee and sandwich for only $7! They also have food specials such as ramen or paella. I just follow along on social media to find out the special. Limited but free parking. Otherwise street parking but very walkable and close. If you're at the convention center it's only a short walk over."

We loved the cornbread bread service! Delicious! I had the broth based clam chowder and thought it was great. For my meal I had the fish taco app from the specials menu. It was burger night and my husband had the Frenchie burger and subbed the grit cake in place of fries and said it was all very good. My son had chicken tenders off of the kids menu. They were your standard chicken tenders so nothing to write home about there. Overall our experience was very nice."

So for the Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to make the drive here once again to see how things were.Upon walking inside, you can see the specials written on their board. Just like a year ago, country fried steak was the special. And that's we both ordered again. I had mine with home fries, scrambled eggs and buttered toast and Sophia had hers with home fries, fried hard eggs and buttered toast along with coffee and water. And like before, both of us enjoyed our meal. Our meals came out in a timely manner cooked very well. Like before, I added salt and pepper to the eggs for a bit more seasoning (each restaurant does their food differently), but the both of us were filled up nicely for the morning drive.Well, that was our experience. Great service from the staff, a good crowd on hand for a post-Thanksgiving meal and a great vibe all around. I don't think we could've asked for anything more. Till next time :)"

Alex G. "We got takeout from 185; Put in an order on their website and drove down to pick it up.Location (4/5): located in a residential area, it's a cute house restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating options. Parking lot is on the smaller side but it's relatively decent parking. Service (3/5): it was hard to know where to pickup the food when I walked in. There is a counter in the back by the kitchen where you pay, but there was a group of people milling around the front door, and nobody to direct us or greet us.When I finally walked up the counter, nobody even glanced my way. When someone finally glanced my way and asked me what I needed, it was with the sourest expression. Everyone has bad days, but overall I did not get the warm and fuzzies from any of the staff as I watched and waited for half an hour by the door. Ambiance (5/5): the vibe is cute, with assorted dining tables and chairs for the inside, and a cute spacious patio on the outside. It's not huge, but it isn't cramped either. Did not use the bathroom but I did notice a small hallway with that looked like a womens and mens. They have a couple of highchairs for little patrons.Food (5/5): we got the brisket breakfast burrito with jam, and it was on point. More eggs than brisket, but everything was cooked and seasoned well. French toast was great. We will definitely be back for the food alone."

From the moment I walked in, I loved the cozy atmosphere, with walls full of artwork from local artists that you can actually buy. It really adds to the charm and makes the space feel like part of the community. The whole place has a beachy, relaxed feel, perfect for a slow Sunday morning.I ordered the garden omelet with egg whites, which was packed with fresh veggies and cooked just right. It was light but still filling, and the flavors were super fresh. It came with a buttery, flaky biscuit that was absolutely delicious and crispy home fries that had the perfect amount of seasoning. I also added a little Speedy Hot Sauce, a local favorite, and it gave everything a nice kick without overpowering the flavors. To go with my meal, I had their cold brew, which was smooth, strong, and exactly what I needed to start my day. The service was quick and friendly, and I really appreciate how they focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It's clear they put a lot of care into their food, and it makes a difference. If you're looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot in Virginia Beach, Simple Eats is definitely worth checking out. The welcome conversation from the waitress when we walked in immediately made me feel at home like going to a friend's house to eat. I had called in advance to see what the wait was like on a Sunday morning and was kind of surprised that someone actually answered and was super nice on the phone. He told me they even took reservations, which is a hidden gem feature because so many brunch places will not allow for reservations. Shockingly, when my party of three arrived at about 10:30 a.m. on a Sunday there was no wait to be seated. (That kind of made me scared that the food wasn't going to be good, lol). There were some drink specials before a certain time (I don't remember the cut off time unfortunately). I took advantage and had a Bellini and I'm mimosa, which were both delicious. My husband had a vanilla latte which was probably one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a long time. I don't even really drink coffee and he ended up having to share his with me. The music was a vibe the whole time we were there. Kind of a mix of like '70s R&B. My mom, who lives in Gloucester recommended this location so today we decided to visit for lunch. When we arrived the power was out at the restaurant (and apparently in other parts of the city) but to my surprise instead of being turned away we were welcomed in and told they were still serving lunch, the only thing they couldn't do was heat the soup and make the specialty drinks in hot form. We were seated right away and given plenty of time to peruse the menu and chat. You would never have even known they were having a hiccup with the power grid as the staff made sure everything flowed smoothly. We started with a cold glass of mixed berry lemonade, and then ordered the daily special, a Caprese Melt on herbed focaccia. The food came pretty quickly, and the portion was more than generous, and it was love at first bite! The focaccia was absolutely perfect, and the flavors married beautifully with the fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. My mother and I ordered the same sandwich but for her side she chose their fresh cut house chips and I chose the cucumber salad. And then there was dessert....sweet tooth cafe has a wide assortment of baked goods, made from scratch...and it was so hard to choose what to try first. We ended up deciding on the tiramisu and we split it. Other options were key lime pie, carrot cake, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls that were the size of a sandwich plate, and eclairs. The tiramisu was amazing!!! With the perfect balance of flavors. By the end of the meal, just before we finished the lights came back on and everything went back to normal for the team working there, but again you never would have even known that they had any challenges. They meal was excellent, the customer service was great and I truly am looking forward to returning with the rest of my family to explore more of the menu."

Shari S. "Wow... wish I could give zero stars. It was just THAT bad.First of all, when we entered the "restaurant" (and I use that term loosely), there were three tables. Period. Two were taken by customers who were dining, and the third had laptops & paperwork set out, where a man, either a store employee or the owner, not sure which, was taking care of business. So there we stood awkwardly while we waited for a table. Never once was an attempt made to clear out the makeshift desk so that we could actually sit. Of course, we had the choice to sit outside, but since it was 85 degrees, we passed.Once we were seated, the sales spiel began. Clearly the aim of this place is not to serve meals, it's to hawk products. And hawk they did, from the two containers of "sample" honey on the table, to the "snack" of tortilla chips we were brought (where we then learned all about them, the sodium content, the sea salt, etc.). I ordered the peach tea, which was brought to me in a partially filled paper cup, no ice. Just lukewarm tea.An interminably long period of time later, the waitress came waltzing in the front door with a tray. I guess they aren't connected to the kitchen? It was very odd. Anyway, she brought two of the three meals, explaining that she didn't have room on the tray for the third. So then we sat awkwardly for over five minutes awaiting the third entree, a salad. Finally the man who had been utilizing the table "desk" waltzed through the front door with my friend's salad, explaining, "you ordered a very labor intensive meal. I had to pit the olives by hand." Whaaat?! So there we sat with our food and began eating it, and again, both of the individuals working there came to the table and repeated the hawking of the items sold in the store. So you'd think now that we were finally free to enjoy our meal, right? You'd be wrong unfortunately. The same man then sat at the table "desk", picked up the phone, and called someone (presumably a creditor or supplier) to argue a bill. Loudly. This would have been rude from another patron, but from a store employee? It was absolutely ludicrous. At this point, we were rolling our eyes at one another, simply wanting to escape. We struggled to eat our food on our disposable dishes with a disposable fork, no knives provided of course, and finally just gave up, but not before my friend bit into an olive that had not been pitted. The food... it was okay, I suppose, but the portions are teeny tiny, and they skimp terribly on ingredients. For the price, this just wasn't okay. My turkey biscuits, salad & tea came to $18.Suffice to say, the disorganization & flightiness of these two were astounding. Let's put it this way: I was glad I had cash and didn't have to hand over my credit card.Never again. I feel for the unsuspecting tourists who may wander in. Yelpers, you've been warned."
