"I stopped in for a late lunch before hitting the road back to Jacksonville. My niece and her husband told me this was their favorite burger joint in Norfolk. It's eclectically decorated with dollar bills on the wall, bras hanging from a light and two random beauty shop hair dryers. There were also lockers in front of the bar stools at the bar. You can look around for hours and still find something new. Our server was OK, not the friendliest. But the food made up for it! The burger was tasty and juicy. The fries were hot and crispy. Their special house made sauce had me eating way more fries than I typically eat. It's a small spot, so you may have to wait for a table. If you like a good smash burger, be sure to give them a try."
"Delicious food with great service! Have been here several times and the food is spot on every time. They have some of the best appetizers, just delicious. The Ruben croquettes are to die for, unique and just delicious. And please try the stout chili, chicken tiki masala dip and beer cheese. Sandwiches we tried, truly enjoyed, and recommend: corned beef brisket, amazing; fried eggplant, unique and very flavorful; honey ham and cheddar, simple but so good, the bread is key; dog street and lamb burgers, the tzatziki sauce on it was so good. Very cozy atmosphere as well, definitely feels like an authentic pub."

"We came here for dinner and it was a great experience! We were seated right away for a party of 3. Our waiter was great and did not rush us when we were waiting for our last person to meet us. The food was delicious! For an appetizer we got the buffalo cauliflower which was good but wish it came with extra sauce or ranch to dip in. The charcuterie board was also amazing and had a great selection of meats, cheeses, and fruits. We all loved our dinner entree's too! Pork schnitzel and the steak was phenomenal. We will definitely be back!"
"Gotta say, the margarita flight is what got me in the door. Three out of four of them were good. Our server was super nice and accommodating. Food was good. Prices weren't bad. I got a pizza, I think it was crab . She's a keeper! Portion size was pretty big and the decor was nice. I'd return."
"I'm glad I don't live closer because I would come here too much! Our family who lives in Virginia Beach suggested this spot when I said I wanted seafood while at a track meet at the sports center. Boy, they did NOT steer me wrong. This unassuming metal diner-like building could easily be overlooked for the gem inside. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Nicole, our server, was the absolute best!I started with a pomegranate lemon drop. I'm not a fan of pomegranate but this cocktail was very tasty. It's a tad tart but that's why I love lemon drops. I chose the seafood trilogy with coleslaw and black bean salsa for my late lunch/early dinner. That had to be the best thing on the menu. The flounder was thick and fried to perfection. The shrimp were huge and also fried perfectly. The crab cake was void of much filler and was great with the best remoulade I think I've ever had. I was taken aback that the salsa was cold initially but the flavor made up for the shock in temperature. The coleslaw was also good. I did not have room to touch the cornbread. I recommend this spot without any hesitation!Pomegranate lemondropSeafood trilogy with coleslaw and black bean and corn salsaNicole"
"In town for our daughters track meet, we decided on a whim to swing by Barrel 17 for something to eat. I got the specialty burger of the night, The Vibe Burger - cooked perfectly medium, with caramelized onions and fried mozzarella on top. It was delicious. I got a side of onion rings that were good as well and casually dipped them in their burger sauce. . Being greedy, I also ordered the Wagyu meatballs & fried mozzarella. From what I tasted, it was good, but I was so full off the burger that I couldn't enjoy it like I should've, nor could I come remotely close to finishing my meal. My daughter got chicken tenders & fries that she liked a lot, and my Wife got a steak salad that she raved about, not only because it was cooked at the perfect temperature, but because it came with so much steak, and was so filling. That on top of really good service from the bartender, who was attentive to our needs despite the crowd - they were very busy - I just didn't feel it because everyone from the wait staff, to the cooks, to the bartenders seemed to be working in unison. Did I mention my Wife left happy?Happy Wife, happy Jamar. 5 Stars."
"The service here is the greatest! I'm visiting the area and I needed late night pizza. I can tell you within 60 seconds of entering this establishment that Morgan and Bobby are employees who provide outstanding service to the community! It is refreshing to have this type of experience now days as its usually lost in translation with this generation! I hope they are getting paid their worth! This can easily be my go to happy hour if I lived here! Pizza was delicious! There was another bartender last night that was absolutely disgusting, he could have ruined this review but because the other two employees treated me so wonderful, he was eliminated from this review. He should be working the back and not at the bar with his attitude though...."
"For our 11th anniversary, i surprised my wife with someplace we'd never been together. If you like seafood, there is no way to go wrong here. The baked stuffed flounder was amazing. Our server, Ben, recommended it, so I went with it. When he asked what sides I'd like with it, I said that whatever he recommended would be fine. I wasn't disappointed. A healthy serving of rice and the largest broccoli sprig I've ever seen were presented. It was phenomenal. The lighting was subdued, but at least we could see what we were eating. There was a seafood smell to the place, but it wasn't overwhelming like you'd find at that national chain which no longer exists. One thing that I was absolutely blown away by was the "crew roster." It was a printed sheet detailing every employee who worked there (even the dishwashers). Some of the employees were sons, daughters, and even grandkids of previous employees. Highly recommended."
"Wonderful creekside seating. Crab dip is off the charts. Great stop when driving south on Eastern Shore of VA"

This place is our go to Burger joint. It never disappoints!!We are fairly new to the area, and the burgers are the best that we've tasted. It's a very unique place, there's dollar bills on all of the walls and different random decorations inside the bar at the bar and also tables to sit inside and one outside. For the most part, everything is clean despite being a bar, and a pretty like grungy bar at that. The staff is usually nice and OnPoint.I usually get the classic Jack, add an over, medium egg, and pepper jack cheese instead of American, my husband, and I share a basket of fries, and my husband gets the doctor gonzo . Super delicious !!Added bonus, they have fried Oreos that are two dollars each and sooooo good!! The JB sauce is delicious to put on the fries or the burger. If you have not been to this burger joint, you are missing out!

Just a quick visit, they were incredibly busy, but despite being so, the service was great. There was a special event in town today (Lafayette 200 yr anniversary of his 1824 visit), so the town is slammed. I was attended to promptly, and seated, and waited on quickly. I had one of their IPAs, which was a special version brewed in honor of Homecoming for William and Mary, and I had the beer cheese appetizer. Both were great! Prices were reasonable. Restaurant was noisy, which is to be expected of a pub. Outdoor seating available. I would definitely return.

From the moment I walked into Hearth, I felt transported to a cozy cabin nestled in a snowy forest. The warm ambiance, with its woodsy decor and comforting atmosphere, immediately set the stage for a fantastic dining experience. Every detail, from the service to the food, contributed to a memorable evening.I started with a crispy Brussels sprouts salad, a delightful combination of feta, apples, fennel, and of course, bacon. The balance of textures and flavors, along with the use of fresh, seasonal produce, was impressive and set a high bar for the meal to come. For my main course i had the Steak Frites, and it was perfection. The steak was cooked exactly to order--tender, flavorful, and paired beautifully with a light, refreshing salad that served as the perfect palate cleanser. The truffle fries were a highlight, their aroma reaching the table before the plate even arrived. To top it off, I enjoyed a Celery Gimlet--a crisp, well-balanced cocktail that rounded out the meal perfectly. Every bite and sip left me feeling warm and completely satisfied.I cannot wait until my next meal here!

We stopped here for dinner on our way down to Hampton to visit my sister. We came on a Friday night around 8pm and had a reservation but there were still a lot of tables when we got there so we probably didn't need one. The inside of the restaurant was very nice, it was modern and gave the vibes of a fancier restaurant. They had a wide variety of beer and cocktails, I ended up getting the Margarita Flight ($13.95) which came with 4 different flavors of Margarita. They were all really good but my favorite was either the Sunset or the Peach. For dinner, I ended up getting the Waygu Beef Chili Cheese Dog ($13.95) and added the Glazed Sweet Potato Waffle Fries (+$2.25) as my side. The hot dog was so good and very flavorful, I could do without beans in the chili but that is just personal preference. The glazed waffle fries were absolutely AMAZING!! They were like a dessert and tasted like cinnamon rolls. My husband got the Pretzel Bites ($10.95) which were pretty standard but the beer cheese was very good. I would definitely stop here again!

This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant, and they did not disappoint! This place was bustling during dinner rush, though luckily we got seated right away.We tried our their fish & Chips, Seafood trilogy and cheeseburger. Everything was cooked perfectly and all of the seafood tasted fresh. The portion was huge that you could easily have a leftover for another meal.Despite the place being busy and quite loud, I would say it is a perfect spot for a family dinner or a date. Will definitely visit when I come back to VB again

Hubby and I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening while visiting for the weekend. It looked pretty interesting with all the dark wood. It looked very similar to our usual seafood restaurants back home. Of course we Yelped it but to be honest, I was put off by the low stars. My husband really wanted to try it and I went along. We walked in and there was no one at the hostess booth. The nice older lady finally came, and walked us to our table around the corner. I couldn't believe how many people were actually there. It was pretty dark inside, the wood was dark and there was very low lighting. I will say it had a very nostalgic feeling to it. The music they played was a blend of late 70s and early 80s and gave it was like being in a time capsule, one that made me smile. Our server was super awesome. I noticed he was the only one so he kind of got a little busy and we had to wait a while for our food towards the end, be he did an amazing job! We ordered their French onion soup, clam chowder, salmon and broccoli, and their stuffed tilapia with crab. Omg. Wonderfully seasoned, perfectly cooked. Delicious. Their French onion soup was absolutely delicious. Huge fan. Love this place. We will definitely go back!!

"Amazing local spot. I sat at the bar upstairs and had a beer with the seafood dream. That dish was amazing. Cool vibes and everyone was super friendly to an outsider. The service was spot on also."
"Just a really pleasant spot for a good meal and a drink (or two lol).I popped in for dinner at the bar. Very large and diverse beer selection on tap. If there's nothing that strikes your fancy on tap, there's an even larger selection of cans and bottles. Had a couple of really good IPAs and was very satisfied. Food: I mentioned to my server what I was in the mood for and ended up with the Vikings Blod sandwich. It was bacon cheesy perfection. Great beer and food? Already winning. The menu seems geared towards fancy grilled cheeses but they also have some appetizers and build-your-own charcuterie boards.Service: as I was at the bar, I ended up having a good chat with the bartenders. Along with being very helpful with both food and drink selections, it was great conversation. Winning again on enjoyment/experience.The place has a chill ambiance about it and outdoor seating is available as well.Overall, great experience and would highly recommend it for food and drinks."
"Popped in here for the first time after some shopping for some wings and a pint. This place is very cool! Lots of TVs and LOTS of delicious beers. I asked the bartender what his 2 favorite IPAs are, and we ended up getting both and they were delicious. Ended up leaving with 4 packs of each. For food, we got the wings, pretzel and drunkin brat sausage. The wings with buffalo sauce were pretty good, the star is the sauce. And it's not too spicy. I think they were baked, not too crispy but still good. The pretzel was soft and yummy, and with the beer cheese sauce and an IPA = winning! The drunkin brat was so goood! Extra o's! The roll looked and tasted homemade, nice and warm and soft. There were small wavey potato slices on the side that were a nice addition. Overall, food was very good and the "casual" atmosphere was perfect! They had plenty of tables, and ordering the beer and food from the bar was super easy. Bartenders were awesome! We'll be back for sure."
"A hot downtown brunch spot I've been meaning to try. The buildings in the area give this place great ambiance. A friend and I got Taylor Swifts favorite number 13 as our table. I did a traditional mimosa since I was going for an authentic brunch. They had a huge sweet and savory brunch selection. Today I chose the sweet option and went for cookie dough pancakes with a side of home fries and sausage. My friend had the breakfast burrito and home fries as well. We were NOT disappointed. The food came out hot off the stove and completely scrumptious. The service was superb with suggestions and plenty of check ins. I wish the lighting was a little better, but I'll definitely be back, maybe go for window view seating."
"Margarita of the month was fantastic! So happy I got to try it! Place is super cute and fun inside! Food is a do it your own menu! So, the menu is brought out to you and you fill the card out of what you want to eat which is fun! Came for music bingo and it was a great time! Bartender is friendly and welcoming as well!"
"Came back and sadly had to take off a star. Still a yummy place but some of the food items we tried this time were just not as good! Still amazing those pretzel covered mozzarella sticks! So yummy! Wings were good but their ranch has a very strong dill flavor that was not appealing to me. I love dipping my wings in good ranch and this did not hit the spot. The spinach artichoke dip was not very good either. Would not order again. Also our waitress was not so great. Did not really check on us. They have regular tables and chairs, seating for big groups and a large bar area. Also lots of TVs to watch games"
"Dropped in on a whim one afternoon and was pleasantly surprised! It's not really visible as you drive by so I rarely think about it being so close to my home...it's less than mile and a half away so now that I know it's good, I'll need to head back to try some other things. On this trip, which was late afternoon on a week day, I was craving a chai latte and stopped in to check it out. There was only one very pleasant young lady working and a pretty steady flow of customers so it did take a little longer than I'd hoped to be served but I enjoyed taking a look around the place while I waited. They have books, they have games, they have scheduled events (paint night for example) and they have a good variety of bakery items and hot sandwiches among other things. What a fun atmosphere! Oh and did I mention they also serve beer and wine! They have enough of a variety so there's sure to be something for everyone. You should definitly go and give it a try too."
"The service can be a bit slow... but the good is very good. We normally order the Ruben's w/ onion rings or their potato wedge things. The Brussel sprout appetizer is absolutely delicious. We don't normally eat in anymore due to service and sometimes it's a bit loud but we will order out. They are open late so my husband can pick up on his way home from work and we can eat late night."
"Omg! Delicious. Moved here and was missing my OC/LA Korean food. Not the same but pretty damn satisfying and good for this area. Weekends they don't do the soup but on weekdays if you ask the owner's wife she'll tell her husband (the chef) to make Jjamppong (seafood noodle soup) or Sundubu-jjigae (tofu soup). This place is super good and everyone we've brought enjoyed it and will usually ask to go back again. Don't skip or sleep on this one. Try it out and enjoy the delicious meal they offer."
"WOW! This adorable cheese shop is in the Freemason District, a historic neighborhood in Downtown Norfolk. The vibes here are amazing!! Fantastic sandwiches, a great cheese and wine selection, and everything you need for a delightful charcuterie can be found here. The staff here were a joy as well!!My friend and I were using a gift card here and it was quick and easy. I ordered the Cheese Curd Grilled Cheese with the Deep River Maui Onion chips. She got the Lemon Whipped Feta and one of the blood orange San Pellegrino sodas.WOW really captures our experience here!! My grilled cheese was garlicky, melty, cheesy goodness! The breads used on their sandwiches is great - my sandwich was grilled nice, buttery, and crispy and had fresh tomato on it. Yumm!! The Lemon Whipped Feta my friend got was a large, hearty sandwich - big enough to take one half home as well! She is a longtime fan of this company, hence me getting her a gift card. I'm really glad I did now, because I got introduced to a great place to eat!! She also got charcuterie goodies to take home with her. There are lots of unique finds here! Crackers, cured meats, honeys, jams, and more!Definitely will be bringing my friends and family here again! Honestly? My sandwich was better than any sandwich spot I've been to. I'm a longtime fan of TASTE, but I think I've found a new favorite!"
"***3.5 stars***AP is your typical off beach oen air sports bar. The staff/bartenders are great. They offer a full bar but are limited. Great place for decent bar food and drinks. The shark bite drink is pretty good. A little grenadine is added for the "shark bite" effect. Worth stopong by if you are on the mainstrip."
"Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Great variety of hotdogs and both that I tried were delicious. My favorite was the bandito but the bacon wrapped lord of the rings dog was really good too. The fried pickles were also cooked perfectly with a great breading. For a cheap price, I was a huge fan. I will be coming back."
"We have really come to enjoy ITW and it has become part of our regular restaurant rotation. We tried them right after they opened and the experience left much to be desired. However, we like the original enough that we decided to stick with the new location and see if they'd up their game. They absolutely have and the food and service are quite good. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is casual. It looks like they're adding an outside dining area so we're excited for warmer weather to be able to come and enjoy a meal on their covered patio. If you haven't checked them out yet, you should!"
"I visited this location in honor of my teen daughter's friend birthday celebration. I believe it was the third Saturday night in December 2023. We arrive a bit after the start time, but was still able to sit with our party without reservation. My daughter and friend sat at a long booth with individual chairs on the other side. They seemed to be enjoying themselves, while the grown ups dined at the other end of the long both with a few added chairs. My chair was added in the middle, kind of in the way, but they made it work.I wanted a particular tequila, but was told they were out. I ordered my second choice and it was all good.I ordered the salmon meal with a side or two. My meal took a while to arrive to the table, but the server did recognize the long wait and apologized. Nevertheless, others received their meals and I still waited a bit longer. Well I guess good things come to those who wait, because my meal was on point! My daughter and one of her friend's mentioned they did not enjoy their meal at all. Well sorry for them, I tore mine up!!Parking was not too bad. I was able to find street parking a few steps from the restaurant. I imagine a parking garage is nearby, or a large parking lot, but I did not have to search high and low for a spot. And the street parking was free. The vibe of the restaurant is nice. I can see why the young ones love somewhere like this.If you are into music and a high vibe, check them out!The restroom could use some TLC, but I loved the lighting and mirror inside.Have fun and enjoy life :)"
