"Our week in the Outer Banks wouldn't be complete without BBQ. Tonight's adventure was High Cotton BBQ in Kitty Hawk. Our servers couldn't have been better. I let Chad plan my meal. A three meat comb fried chicken, brisket and pulled pork. Sides wee baked beans and fried okra. I thought I died and went to heaven with the brisket. The fried chicken was not my norm, but the coating was delicious. I think I surprised Chad and Jen when I wanted the Carolina vinegar sauce on my pulled pork. Authenticity matters. He suggested I put some of Cindy's cole slaw on top. Chad is a teacher by day, and this teacher was right. He recommended the chocolate pecan pie for dessert. Another great call. Don't pass this place by!"
"The service was like family. The live music was like a family reunion. The food was like being back in Jamaica and made w love. Only sad thing was they ran out of chicken! the crab stuffed salmon was buttery good, the best cabbage I've had in my life, fresh bread, and my babe said the chops almost made his eyes role into the back of his head- I aint having that! Can't wait to be back!"

"This was recommended to me by a friend. The pulled pork sandwich was good with coleslaw on top. The french fries and mac and cheese were okay. It was decently priced. There was a parking lot, outdoor seating and indoor seating. The staff was attentive and the service was quick."
"This restaurant always has so many options! They have menu specials written on the board and also posted on their facebook page. This visit I tried the appetizer wings which were large and moist. I would definitely recommend. I also tried the pulled chicken. I thought the chicken was a little dry so I will stick to the pork but it was still full of smoky flavor. I usually get sweet potato fries with maple dipping sauce which is my favorite side here! The dipping sauce really heightens the flavor! The coleslaw was good as well. They have the best limeade in Richmond and I get it every time. Also, the house bbq sauce goes with everything because it's delicious! Highly recommend the restaurant!"
"I've had this place bookmarked forever and was so excited to go! It's a small cute quaint spot and definitely gives you a mom and pop vibe. The staff is helpful and patience as to the questions you may have about the menu. I heard about the wings so that is what the hubs and I knew that we had to get. But ugh...the wings were fried a little too hard and the sauce we had didn't really taste good. I also had the salmon Po boy and it was ok. Didn't realize he had cheese on it, so I would definitely omit that next time. But overall, they have a menu that will get your tummy full."
"Love the history of this place. The setting is very retro, and I like that it's authentic, not one of those places that is actually fairly new but trying to be vintage. My ice cream was very reasonably priced - coming from Phoenix, AZ, it actually felt quite cheap. It was also very tasty. Service was decent - not great, not horrible. One of the staff saw me snapping photos and approached me to share a bit of history and showi the waffle cone machine. I really appreciated that, and it made a big difference in my experience with the establishment. They also have binders with old photographs and facts about this and other old diners in the area. You have to go outside to get to the restrooms, which isn't ideal but maybe that's in line with the authentic old-school experience!"
"We stopped off here craving BBQ while running errands around town. It has a great local vibe and some interesting specials! I loved all the sauces and extra sides they offer. I got the ribs and the Wifey had the pork! Saucey and lovely, I'll have to come back and try the brisket."
"This is the second time we've been here and will become a regular spot when in the area.My family loves the ribs. Loves them. They were still full the next day.I had a house salad, which is pretty big and cheese fries. Portions are big. Prices are not bad. They don't take reservations, but they are pretty true to their wait time and keep it moving."
"Delicious BBQ, amazing even. But I wasn't impressed with any of the sides. 5 stars was for the BBQ alone."
"We had the county grill cater our wedding so it was only right to come back for our anniversary years later! We still LOVE the food. Our waitress was so kind. We each got a draft beer & enjoyed them. The cornbread muffins and honey butter are to diiieee for! But hands down my favorite thing is the house made pickles! The bbq and all the sauces are delicious. I wasn't too big a fan of the sausage. The Mac and cheese and French fries are also perfection. Overall I haven't found a bad choice here, definitely grab some food if you're in the area or for your next party!"
"My son & grandson were visiting from Brooklyn. Their normal meal rotation includes Korean. Of course Grandma wants to please her guys. After searching my Yelp bookmarks for the folder with my grandson's name (all Korean restaurants) we started checking for spots that were still open on the holiday weekend, would deliver or were relatively close. The only choice we had was 757 Korean BBQ. They were no longer preparing orders for delivery. And my Grandson didn't want to leave the dogs to eat out. So my son picked up our order. I'm so glad this restaurant was our choice!Having an ex-DIL who is Korean, I've dined at a plethora of wonderful Korean Restaurants in New Jersey, Brooklyn & Flushing, Queens. But I've never tasted a Beef Bulgogi BBQ as awesome as the dish I had that night. Even at this moment I can still taste the perfect flavor, seasoning & ingredient quality. Eating it as takeout didn't degrade the quality in the slightest. It probably increased my experience since I like food that has slightly cooled. Perfecto!!We had five who ate that night, each with different choices. All were delighted with their choices. My rating for each is 5 stars.I'm looking forward to eating at 757 Korean BBQ in person. But.... Food served straight from the kitchen might not have cooled enough for my taste. :)"
"Okay folks, I think we have a winner here in terms of Carolina BBQ goes. I ordered the 3 Meat combo because I wanted to try a variety of their signature entree items and boy every single meat item did not disappoint. The meats were cooked to perfection with full flavors. The BBQ pork was super succulent and the meat from the ribs literally falls off the bone when you pick it up. The sweet hickory taste of the ribs were my favorite. The smoke turkey was super moist! Both the collard greens and the sweet slaws were prepared just right. Unfortunately, the cornbread was the only thing I didn't care too much for. It was bland, dry and didn't really taste like cornbread. Other than that I love the place. I'll be sure and hit this place up the next time I am in town."

Honestly, I was expecting more from a BBQ place in the south. I come from Connecticut and I was kinda sad to admit that I've had better BBQ from up here. I tried High Cotton's brisket, famous smoked chicken, and hand-chopped pork. Everything was pretty lackluster as far as the meat goes. The brisket was not seasoned, and pretty dry and quite honestly tasted like it had been leftovers from a few days prior. The smoked chicken was just ok but kinda tough and not very moist. The chopped pork was for sure the best that I picked out, but they put so little sauce on it. I thought the green beans and mac and cheese were pretty good though. The staff was nice and the ambiance of the restaurant was good. The parking is adequate and the wait was reasonable. But overall, I'd skip this place next time and try another BBQ joint.

This was my second time going to Cutlass this week! The first time was for lunch. I had the Stewed Chicken with Mac n cheese and cabbage. It was delicious. It was seasoned to perfection. It was the middle of the day in the summer so with the help of the Jamaican Cowboy and the music, I felt like I was at my favorite spot in Montego Bay. My second visit was Saturday night. We caught the end of happy hour so we could be there when the live music started. It turned out there was a guy playing R&B on the calypso. He is so talented. This visit I wanted to try the Red Snapper. There were about 4 different ways it could have been prepared but of course I chose stewed! It did not disappoint. I got mac n cheese and collard greens this time and ordered the charbroiled oysters for an app. What a vibe!!

I have always wanted to stop by and try this place on my way down to the Carolina's and I finally got my chance! It's a gravel parking lot, but there was a good number of spots - granted we ate in the afternoon instead during the lunch/dinner rush. There was plenty of seating and space. We were greeted promptly by the staff who had a cheery demeanor. My friends and I ended up ordering the brisket and 1/2 rack with 2 sides each (mac and cheese, fries, slaw, and sweet potato) as well as thee cue balls (sweet potato with jalapeño). Service was great and they even offered to provide plates for my party to share - family style.Everything tasted great, but the standouts for me were the brisket (loved the taste and moistness) and slaw (dressing is light, different, and amazing). We even left butting a bottle of their dressing - they also sell bottles of their BBQ sauce too!I definitely recommend hitting up this spot if you are roadtripping through the area!

This little hole in the wall is a wonderful place to taste old fashioned good food. We got the 5 spice wings and the spicy chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The fries were fresh cut and homemade. The spicy chicken sandwich was good as well. Not crazy spicy but very tasty. I thought the wings were good, very flavorful type of dry rub. I am a more wing sauce type of gal. After spending years in Buffalo; a bit of a wing snob. These definitely passed my snobbiness even if they weren't my favorite cup of tea. The staff was kind with generous portions and they always had a steady stream of patrons like you'd imagine for a hole in the wall. I did take off one star because of convenience to customers. They only sold bottled water and beverages which doesn't go too well if you're just looking for a good old fashion cup of ice water to combat the semi hot wings. I hope they'll consider adding a water fountain or pitcher for those who choose to dine in

So much fun going to get an ice cream cone! Got to watch cones being made on the first ice cream cone machine dating back to 1904. Had the chocolate ice cream and it was soooo good! Very chocolaty and not sickening sweet.

This was my first time at County Grill and will not be my last. It was that good! We sat at the bar area because there was a wait and we were starving. Only one bartender was on duty but it did not compromise our service. You can tell the staff chips in to help each other. That makes the whole experience even better. The restaurant is in a strip mall. It's very much what you would expect from a BBQ restaurant as far as the interior. We started with the wings which were smoked but not overly smoked. It was just enough so that the sauce was not overwhelming. We got the tequila lime and bourbon honey. Neither disappointed. Being that this was the first time there, we wanted everything so decided to get the 2 meat option dinner that comes with two sides. It was more than enough for 2 people and a meal to take home. The brisket and ribs were so tender. We also got the pulled pork which was so tasty and the half chicken, which was really good too. Everything was flavorful and juicy. For me, good BBQ isn't good unless the sides are chefs kiss good. This place doesn't miss! The potato salad wasn't exactly what I expected - it's definitely like a loaded baked potato salad. Not the typical mayo base like I was expecting however I was not disappointed! The baked beans - delicious. Cole slaw - everything you want it to be with BBQ. I also got fried okra bc it's just my favorite. The cornbread muffins and honey butter are a must! You have to try all the BBQ sauces. I think the mustard was my favorite. And last but not least... the banana pudding which takes a few minutes bc each one is made just for you! Talk about feeling special at the end of a meal. Needless to say, come with an empty stomach bc you're gonna want to try everything! Great service, great foo and good times! Will be back for sure!

Best cake you will ever have! I drove by this place many times without stopping in, so I thought I'd give it ago. I had the fish and chips and a sweet tea. Tasted very good. I usually don't order dessert but they had this display case where I could see the cake and I thought I'd give it a try. That was enough to tip the scale for me , I will be back. I asked the waitress what they specialize in and she replied the barbecue so will give that a try next time.

"*only an update to my last review: still my favorite bbq restaurant in Virginia. We come here from DC. So far I've ordered: -ribs -burnt ends -brisket - pulled pork -sides: corn pudding and fries All phenomenal. They sell the bbq sauce and dry rub. Check it out!"
"Hard to beat their ribs (I don't think I've had better), and my wife typically doesn't like banana pudding, but she likes it from Q Daddy's! This place is excellent for eating in, taking out, and catering. While their meat samplers are fantastic, especially their brisket, if going specifically for ribs, be sure to either order far in advance or go at the right times since they don't always have ribs when open in the afternoon during the week due to the long smoking process and wanting things to be fresh. Once you try the ribs, you'll find that ordering in advance if the timing doesn't line up for their typical times for it will be totally worth it."
"I love going here. And right now for the rib special for their 25th anniversary? You can't beat it. Server I had last time was dope and helped me with everything including a survey that got me some free dessert, and the place was a nice volume so my mother and father were able to watch the game while also enjoying a nice evening out and still talk to each other. Go if you love some ribs, chicken wings, or just some good smoked meats at a pretty reasonable price."
"After stopping at ShareTea in Chesapeake, I was trying to figure out where to go while heading back home to VB. Decided on Tasty Korean BBQ since it has been quite a while since I have been here. There is dining inside and table and chairs outside as well. Its not really big inside. There were 2 two-top tables and I believe a four top in the back. There is display of china tea sets that looked so pretty.I ordered for takeout the Mandoo and #7 Spicy BBQ Pork mini with Bean sprouts and Macaroni.I could not wait to eat this when I got home as it smell was so enticing as I was driving home.Mando was good and crispy and that Spicy BBQ Pork was tender and spicy, nice heat but not the kind where you can't enjoy it. People who are sensitive to heat probably will think this is to spicy. There was so much that I could only eat some of it. The bean sprouts and mac were good as always. Those bean sprouts are the bomb. I enjoyed my food and definitely miss coming here. I have to come by again more often."
"Services is amazing and food is out of the world , I love the redneck egg rolls place is just outstanding."
"Solid bbq nothing fancy quick good short wait options are good for both lean and fatty beef pork was good sides were so so"
"Food was excellent! Service was great! Crab dip is OMG GOOD! Party of 11 at 2 tables which was fine. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food."
"First time here for a sit down visit at this Hawaiian/Asian restaurant. They have Hawaiian and chinese food on the menu. The food is flavorful and tasty, the boba tea is so good, and the portions are huge. You can tell they prepared the food with effort. This is a great culinary option if you are in the area and hungry."
"The only thing they didn't give me enough of was napkins!!!!!Ribs sooooo good make you wanna slap your mama! Drove all the way from DC for this and it was well worth the drive, money &bite! Best BBQ spot! Food for the soul!"
"I truly enjoy this place especially if I am with the family. It was a party of seven celebrating my Son-in-law's birthday. The kids wanted Hot Pot and so did my daughter and I. Both my husband and son-in-law added the Korean B-B-Q as well. Everything was so fresh and clean. The selections for both options are endless. There is something for every palate. Our server was friendly and definitely made sure we lacked nothing. She was consistently checking on us to ensure our orders were placed and received timely. I only have one suggestion. I wish they had a few options of premade sauces. I know everyone has different tastes but a few basics would help someone like me who is just starting out."
"First time here and we loved it! Different experience and very cool. So many options to choose from and All You Can Eat. The ambiance is electrifying! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekends. I see why this place is always packed! We loved it and will be back!"
"This place is SO MUCH fun!!! Came here with some coworkers and we booked one of the private karaoke rooms. It was super spacious and had all kinds of fun lighting, two microphones, tambourines, and a huge tv. We hooked up one of our phones and found karaoke videos to follow on YouTube. There was a service call button on the wall and the staff was super quick and efficient. I tried the bubble pop drink - which was okay but very sweet. Then I got champagne - which when it came was not champagne but some kind of white wine. The chicken ramen though was the bomb dot com! It was seriously so unexpectedly good and I've thought about it many time since. I may see if they have it on doordash in the future :DAnyway, this was a great spot and created great memories!"
"Our group ordered an absolute feast from this place, and were not disappointed! We had ribs, fried chicken, pulled pork, and several sides and they were all winners. This place was a great value for a large group, and our favorites were the fried chicken and pulled pork, and the barbeque sauce was as great as we expected. (We were looking for a vinegar-y North Carolina sauce which is what this place has.) Will keep this on our list for the next visit!"
"I haven't written any reviews for a while and I'm sorry first of all. I have been busy with life work, and family. So we were out and about on the other side of the water and was looking for something tasty to eat. We had been talking about BBQ all this morning and was determined to make a choice today. As always I use Yelp first for all my searches. I have more recently tried Google, always and I mean always go back to my Yelp App. A taste of Texas came up first in my search for BBQ recommendations for me and we are so glad for this choice. You ever walk into a restaurant and the smell makes you wanting? Even before we got our order we were thinking of what we would order the next visit. You ever had a feeling like that?We shared a "Meal Sweat Platter ". Delicious and cost effective at the same time for two. We ordered Beef Brisket, Smoked Turkey Breast and Ribs. For sides we choose baked Beans along with Mac & Cheese. Everything was delicious and the service was very welcoming as well. We also was greeted and served by the owner Tim who is a great guy and professional at what he provides. Prices are reasonable and of good portions. Along with the experience and service we have made A Taste of Texas keeper. You ever ate at a restaurant with good food and service at the same time? We did and you will enjoy this place as well."
"We really enjoyed the food! The service that the staff provided when we stopped by for lunch was great! We will return!!"
"When my GPS led me down an alley to this restaurant I was incredibly confused. Online it says "no frills" and that is for sure the truth. We had a table of 6 and all tried something different-- not a single person was disappointed with their meal. Absolutely delicious, fresh smoked barbecue! My sister got the brisket with mac and cheese and that was a real winner! The owner is also super friendly and provided great service! We will definitely be back soon!"
"I ordered chicken wings through the Yelp app and by the time I arrived they were hot and ready. It was tasteful and there was plenty of wings. She also remembered to ask me if I wanted ranch dressing. Would order again."
"This place has some really good BBQ fam ! The collards are my favorite. There the best damn collard greens ever. I love how they include strips of meat ( I believe chicken) in the collards. It adds a soulful taste. The problem is the sides that are included in the plates are very tiny. For the amount your paying i feel you should get more of your sides. If you want a larger side you have to pay a higher price for a pint. And it will come in a large Styrofoam cup with a lid which is quite ghetto in my opinion. Also this place only takes cash which is annoying. I still don't understand establishments like this. Living in 2020 everything is electronic including payments its just safer and easier but to each its own. Im still going to come here whenever I want some BBQ."
"I found myself craving BBQ the other day so I decided to stop in. While I missed the ambiance of Red, Hot, and Blue playing blues music, the food at Route 60 was pretty good. The pulled chicken was pretty good and the sauce was flavorful. The real winner(s) for me were the sides. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and delicious. The waffle fries were crisp and well seasoned. The cornbread was fluffy and sweet. Finally, the hush puppies, were crisp and warm. I feel that I see two different styles of hush puppies and I much prefer this one. Overall, it is a good barbecue joint."
"I discovered Sooey's BBQ when looking for a place for lunch. It was busy when I arrived with a large party and some other tables filled as well. I was warmly greeted when I arrived and my order was taken before the large party. I was a little hesitant to order the Eastern style pulled pork as I hate the vinegar based sauce. I'm just not a fan of vinegar. I grew up on the sweet sauce. I was told there'd be just a little vinegar on it and I could put the sweet sauce on top. I needed a lot of sweet sauce to try and cover up the vinegar taste.I don't fault the restaurant at all for me not liking the vinegar based pulled pork as the menu was clear and so was my waitress. But I wouldn't order the pulled pork again. And unlike another restaurant did not serve me a chunk of bone.I did enjoy the sides of baked beans and mac n cheese. I'd eat here again just make another menu choice."
"If you're in the mood for some seriously tasty BBQ, this spot in Carrollton, VA is an absolute must-try! I've been to their Portsmouth location, but this one has my heart. Every visit is a treat; delicious food, clean surroundings, and top-notch service.I went for the NC-style pulled pork and fried okra this time, and let me tell you, it NEVER disappoints! The pulled pork is perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. Paired with the crispy fried okra, it's a combo that always hits the spot. What I love most is the consistency. Every time I come in, I know I'm getting the same mouthwatering goodness that keeps me coming back. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and give this place a try."
"Let's start by saying I am not a fan of Buffet's. When I walked in and saw that it was a buffet, I almost left... OH MY GOODNESS.... I am so glad I didn't. The food was amazing . Seasoned, fresh, delicious. All the years teaching 95 and never knew this gem existed . Whether local or traveling ... homeCooking can't be beat. They also have take out and a grill if you don't want the buffet"
"Outstanding BBQ Experience!I had the pleasure of trying the kielbasa sausage, pulled pork, and brisket, and I was blown away! The pulled pork was hands-down the best I've ever had--perfectly moist and packed with flavor. The kielbasa sausage tasted natural and had that homemade touch, while the brisket, though on the leaner side, didn't skimp on flavor. To top it all off, they even offer pup cups, which is such a thoughtful touch for dog owners. Can't wait to come back!"
