"We had a great experiene with Debra for our wedding cake & cupcakes! We had a tasting with her when we were in town and we got to try a whole bunch of flavor combos and it was just so hard to choose our favorites! We ended up getting a small anniversary tier to cut during our reception, and then about 50 cupcakes for our guests. Her assistant delivered everything to our venue and set it all up BEAUTIFULLY! I sent Debra a picture of a pinterest cake I loved and she re-created it beautifully! When we had our tasting we got to know Debra a little more on a personal level and you can just tell that she is incredibly passionate about her catering and her cake making! It truly is a labor of love for her. Not only were our guests telling us how delicious the cupcakes were, everybody was raving about how gorgeous the cake was! I would recommend Debra and her husband to anybody getting married in the OBX. I haven't tried her food, but she told us she only takes one catering job a day so she can give it her complete attention. That kind of dedication is hard to come by these days! Debra is a real gem."

"This little hole in the wall has been legendary for decades! The pepperoni bread is nothing you have ever tasted before! They also offer traditional Filipino foods like pancit, and others that I can't pronounce. It is all good!! During the holiday season, you can order sweet rolls for your holiday dinners, but make sure you get your order in early! The service is always fast and welcoming, even on their busiest days. Definitely check this place out, you won't regret it!"
"If I see a bakery sign I will stop. This didn't disappoint. New locally owned bakery. The pecan cinnamon roll was really good. Can wait to go back and try more. The owner is very friendly and welcoming."
"This panaderia has only been open a few weeks. It's very clean inside. Plenty of parking. I brought a bunch of baked goods home. If you're not familiar with Mexican sweet bread, it's best with a cup of coffee or even a cup of atole or hot chocolate. I like my bread warm, so I put in on reheat for a couple min in the air fryer. Not long at all. The churros had cajeta/manjar/caramel whatever you call it. They were perfect. While there we sat and enjoyed a torta and tamal. It took a min for the food to come out but that just tells me it's fresh. And I'm fairly certain they made their own bread for the torta since they sell it there. I will go back. The girl at the register is the daughter of the owners and she was lovely."
"Yummy coffee shop!!! Was down in this area and decided to caffeinate before heading to a concert and it was a great experience! Coffee was delicious! Both got iced brews with skim milk and the coffee had a great flavor. Great variety of flavored syrups. Tons of flavored syrups, coffees, teas and other drink choices. I'm sure people will find something they like. Also picked up an M&M cookie and orange roll/bun. Both were so good! They have a lot of food choices from lunch sandwiches to quiche and lots of sweet treats as well. They have a good number of seats and an area to pick-up your drinks. The woman who took our order was kind and asked if we wanted our orange bun heated up, which was a nice gesture. Will be back when passing through the area!"
"Found another gem in Petersburg. If you want a good donut check out Buttermilk Bake Shop. I promise you will not be upset. The service is always exceptional, greeted with a warm welcome and smiles. Anyway is a good day for a ."
"Thank you for the yummy desserts! I tried the yellow pound cake and chocolate chewy bar. Both desserts were moist, rich and were good portion sizes. I plan to use this business for my future baking needs! Definitely recommend!"
"I'm in Virginia for a conference and asked a local friend if there was somewhere to eat that I shouldn't miss. She suggested Tous Les Jours. So I just stopped for breakfast. Everything looked so wonderful that I bought several items to bring home. I only ate the spinach cheese danish and part of a custard filled pretzel. Oh my goodness!! So fantastic. Definitely reminds me of patisseries in Europe!! I didn't expect to spend $50 for breakfast but have a delicious box full of bakery items to enjoy with my husband when I get home this afternoon! Yummy."
"We come here 5x's a week, once a year. Nothing better. It's funny that "Karen" gives them a 1 star because they were closed for a staffing issue. She's probably the same lady who puts her tent up in front of mine at the beach. Food - 5*, Service - 5*, Vibe - 5*. Mad Karen - 0*. WE LOVE NLB!"
"Cindy is a true professional! After reviewing many bakers to provide our wedding cake (and cupcakes), we were able to arrange everything from Texas for our perfect day in Virginia. Cindy was totally on point with communication, and very clear with the order details: seasonally available flavors, pricing, delivery time. She was gracious with providing a tasting for us, by proxy of my family members in town. The final product was amazing. We'd intentionally ordered plenty of extra cupcakes, and not one was left (including the gluten-free dozen!). It's now 2 weeks later, and our guests are still talking about how delicious that cake was. Thanks for everything, Cindy!"
"Nice and friendly staff. All the treats and even the drinks are always good. Cookies are huge and easily shareable."

I'd give this place zero stars if possible. But sadly the lowest I can go is one. Our thousand dollar wedding cake was ruined due to it being delivered hours before it was suppose to and never having had proper structural support between tiers to begin with. Before the wedding ceremony even began the cracks on the outside were evident. By the time the ceremony was over it had fallen completely over. The decorator was called and some random guy showed up without saying a word to anyone in the wedding party and tried to "fix" the fallen over cake. This was done by shoving a dowel rod into it and leaning it against a piece of cardboard. Yes, leaning the cake because it couldn't stand on its own still. After this he left without a word to the wedding party and vanished. Soon enough this leaning tower of failure decided to make a second showing of its failures by toppling forward, crushing many of the cupcakes arrayed in front of it on its way to the floor. Yes, the thousand dollar wedding cake that we couldn't get a refund on, partial or otherwise, fell again and managed to destroy more stuff on the way down. But the bride and groom have never received even an apology for ruining a big part of their big day. For someone claiming decades of experience in the industry, it clearly doesn't show. In attendance at the wedding were guests who are in the culinary industry, one of whom decorates wedding cakes and another who is in a bakery. Both pointed out the same flaws in the cake and made comment on how it would have been so easily prevented had proper steps been taken to begin with. So I write this review to caution anyone considering using this company for their wedding. After multiple attempts to rectify the problem directly with the owner, no resolution was reached. She insists on blaming everyone and everything else for her product's failings and refuses to give even a partial refund. Don't let your big day be ruined by a cake decorator who clearly doesn't care about her cakes. Avoid icing on the cakes!

Stop what you are doing right now. Get in the car and drive as fast as you can to GIMME THE SWEETS. Lie, steal, you might even have rob Peter to pay Paul...do whatever you have to do to get that banana pudding! Yes, it really is ALL THAT. They even give you a fork when you order it because you won't even make it out the parking lot before you break the seal. And honey child, I will sit right here while you take that first bite...Go ahead...I'll wait...See? I told you! The crunch of that cookie with that delicious pudding slides over your taste buds like a sensual dance. When someone coined the phrase "this is heavenly" they MUST have been talking about this banana pudding. But why stop at the BP? Grab a slice of that homemade, taste-like-grandmama-endorsed-the-recipe, lemon pound cake. Each slice is individually packaged and the icing is added AFTER the cake is cut. That means a bite of lemony glaze with every bite. We grabbed the vanilla pound cake while we were there and if it couldn't get any better, they had a POP UP SHOP event and D'Lish catering was there with what should be his WORLD FAMOUS seafood salad and hot crab dip! MIND BLOWING! We bought one serving; took one bite and went BACK INSIDE to grab another one of those crab dips. I suspect D'Lish will have a food truck or a brick and mortar restaurant very soon. I found Gimme the Sweets on Instagram; but now that I know they are in Va Beach,I am going to be a "regular" now!

S/O to Nicole H. for putting Pope's Panaderia y Pasteleria (PPYP) on my radar! I recently saw her FTR on PPYP and discovered it was near Nice Thai, one of my fave Thai restaurants!I went to Nice Thai for lunch last week, so I planned to drop by PPYP after my meal.- Parking - Center lot. It is located in the old K-mart lot, at the end, by the street. - Vibes - When you walk in, PPYP is quite spacious! It's painted in bright colors and they even have a colorful flag banner on the ceilings. To the right is a service counter with a cookie showcase and a refrigerated showcase carrying things like tres leches cake and other goodies that need refrigeration,To the left, against the front window, you will have a few showcases of all the Mexican baked goods like conchas, bread puddings, buns etc. There are tables for you to sit and there is even a fake plant wall and a neon sign for great photo opps!- Noms - Champurrado - I got this hot and it's some kind of hot chocolate made with milk and maybe cinnamon? It's not as chocolatey as one might think (see pic), but I really enjoyed it as it was chilly that day.Cookies - I couldn't resist getting the cookies in the front, by the cash. They were 3 for $1. I chose a variety, including some with sprinkles for my kids.Tres leches cake - the cake was in a cup, layered with cake and cream, topped with more cream and a chocolate shaving. I prefer the cake part of my tres leches to be completely saturated in the leche mixture. I've had better tres leches in other spots so I'll have to pass on this next time. Assortment of baked goods - I got a concha, a bread in the shape of a croissant (but not the texture), bread pudding and what seemed like a corn bread. Everything was fresh!Everything was fresh. They have trays and tongs to place your items and then you bring it to the cash to pay. The lady helping my friend and I was really nice, but didn't seem to speak English very well, so it was fun to brush up on my Spanish! Can't wait to go back and try other items! Note to self: They seem to have lunch items too, go back for a proper lunch.Stay safe, Friends!

The service here is impeccable! The man behind the counter had a contagious friendly attitude. I only ordered a coffee but the baked goods looked great! It's not the biggest place, but had a nice cozy vibe to it. Would recommend. 9/10.

Came here and tried the coffee cake, banana pudding and red velvet cake. The coffee cake was really good it was light and airy and moist and they used a glaze on top instead of the crumble. The banana pudding was good but very sweet for my taste and the red velvet was very dense and a bit dry.

"Gianormous Cinnamon rolls and apple fritters. These things are not only big enough to share. They are delicious. All things tried are amazing fresh and tasty! Get there before 8:30 if you want a fritter. Sell out so fast! Petite fours are to die for! ,"
"If you're looking for a spot where everything you eat is very good and moist. Not too sweet, just right. I also ordered a cake for my daughter quinceanera and cookies. I can't wait for that day."
"The donuts are very good. Fluffy. This place was not as expensive as other places. I tried the cinnamon sugar oat milk latte and it was good. My husband also had a latte, and we ordered a dozen donuts, which totaled $23 in total. We will definitely return."
"Really cheap prices! Bought a dozen of ensemada, 1 beef empanada, 1 spicy beef empanada, and 1 siopao. I recommend the pork siopao the most! The steamed bread was soft and chewy, the meat was flavorful and well-filled! Service was really good - the cashier was really sweet. The ambiance felt like it was a local spot - you're there for delicious food and good people. Great prices."
"Super cute family owned bakery. Newly opened the selection is small but mighty. Warning, you will not want to share so get a tray for everyone! We highly recommend the bread pudding."
"The gourmet peach tea was fantastic and had actual peach slices in it. The food looks good, but I didn't have any. Friendly staff and about $5 for the tea."
"WoooOoooW. Just incredible. Amazing. So glad I stopped by. Went it for the Italian Sub ended up with the Italian grinder. So good. Tiramisu delicious. They stay busy and what I assume are the owners are fantastic."
"One of my favorite spots to grab breakfast in Williamsburg. My only issues is the price but, to be honest, it is worth the cost. The Bake Shop is as the name indicates. It is a bakery. They make their own bagels along with other delicious treats that are proudly displayed as you order. My go-to is always the Asiago bagel with the scallion and dill shmear. They are good about really loading up their bagels with lots of cream cheese. Outside of my normal go-to, their sandwiches are also great. You really can't go wrong with any of them but my personal favorite is The Burg. Word of warning - this place is very popular with the students. If you try and go here on a Saturday or Sunday morning around 10am when college is in session, expect to have a lengthy wait in line."
"A very elegant bakery, that serves some of the best looking desserts. They serve fresh salads and made to order sandwiches. The coffee is a must try as well. Very quiet atmosphere, great for friend dates, personal time or you can bring your grandma for a lunch date. They will love it The service people are very friendly and knowledgeable of the desserts and menu.Come early! For their fresh bakery, by afternoon items will be sold out."
"I've been waiting for the store to open since the summer and I was excited to both have a good reason to by a cake and time to waste. We were immediately greeted when we walked in and offered some yummy samples of rum, almond and chocolate cake with lemon and raspberry drizzles. We had a ton of questions as this was our first experience with Rowena's. The lady that helped us was really patient and answered every question. We ended up with a small almond cake and it was about $31!!! It was expensive but worth it. We decided not to order drizzle as it was another $9. The packaging was beautiful and the box made us feel like we got something special. I enjoyed the cake plan but honestly don't know if I could afford it unless there was a special occasion."
"The most amazing sweet potato biscuit I've ever had. All the baked goods were so delicious. You can tell everything is made with love and care!"
"My husband and I are huge fans of Pownd Cakes by Jen, so choosing them for our wedding cake was a no-brainer. Jen was super accommodating and allowed us to try as many cake flavors as we wanted. We settled on caramel (our favorite), lemon, and chocolate chocolate chip. We ended up purchasing a large three-tier cake to decorate, along with mini cakes that we cut into fours so the guests could try each flavor. The cake was a hit among our guests, and we certainly didn't mind taking the leftover cake home. :)"
"My mom said that this place had pretty good tarts and other breakfast related things so I had to try it out. When I walked in the bakery, it looked so fancy inside I felt like I was out of place, but the best part was the staff were pretty friendly and greeting. I ordered a breakfast sammie, a cookie and a mushroom tart while my mom ordered a cinnamon roll and banana bread. She also ordered a quiche but she ate it and she said it was delicious. As for the food I ordered, everything was spot on, especially the mushroom tart and the sammie. Even though the items cost a lot in my opinion, This was pretty well done for a small business."
"Delicious food and great service. Can't wait to go back. My kids got waffles and we got BLTs."
"Stopped by here on the road from Virginia Beach to Myrtle Beach and was pleasantly surprised! Ordered a Turkey Melt, which tasted very fresh, the Pasta Salad, which was sweet and delicious, and the Strawberry Lemonade Cheesecake Muffin (who knew such a crazy combo would be so good?) that had that home-cooked taste and feel, as well as the Chicken Caesar, grilled cheese, and Very Berry Cheesecake Muffin, all great. Interior was very quaint, there was space to eat inside and a table outside. Restrooms are available inside. Staff was friendly and cool! haha. Will be back next time we're in the area ;^) Definitely recommend.Love from Bk, NY."
"It is my opinion that everything here is made with patience and skill, because the taste and texture is beyond superior and you can find nothing comparable at grocery stores. The Graceful Baker's Carrot Cake is seriously the best I've ever had! If you're a fan of carrot cake, this carrot cake puts your taste buds and salivary glands into party mode!In my experience it is hard to find a chocolate cake that surprises me. Most chocolate cakes in my opinion are mediocre at best. However, The Graceful Baker's Chocolate Cake is fluffy and delicious and had an amazing accommodating buttercream icing. I'm a fat boy that loves great food. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I had a wonderful experience today at The Graceful Baker on Small Business Saturday!"
"Great ice cream shop. Received information ELG . I love the work that ELG is empowering young girls. Large selection of ice cream flavors. Nice and inviting space to relax and enjoy treat"
"Never skip a chance to go toYumaries . Their molasses cookies and donuts are home made. You feel like you just walked into grandmas kitchen. Cake boss should take lessons from them! Duff? Ace of cakes can touch these guys! They are the GOAT!"
"I was in Virginia Beach recently on business trip, and my wife told me about a little shop called Cinnaholic and I was very impressed on the with cleanlinees and the customer service of the staff. My wife chose the Strawberry shortcake cinnamon and I chose the Rocky Road and oh my goodness...both of these treats were as delicious as advertised. My wife even called them "sinful"...in a good way of course. If you have a sweet tooth or just like cinnimon buns, and in the city of Virginia Beach, you need Cinnaholicin your life. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!"
"Cookies are my favorite dessert, but also the one I hold to the highest standard. Having a cookie here raised my standards for all future cookies. The portion size is perfect: satisfying without being too much. The ratio of cookie edge to cookie center is flawless, as is the ratio of add-in to cookie dough. Chewiness and freshness are at their peak. Walking in to the business smells like they just pulled out a tray of your favorite cookies. You're warmly greeted and faced with a simple menu of choices. It feels like walking into the kitchen of an old family friend. It's not just service- it's hospitality. For the quality and quantity, the low price is unbelievable. I like to think I'm good at baking cookies, but $2 for a fresh, homemade cookie that I couldn't replicate with hours of effort is a steal. At less than $20 for a dozen cookies, I'll definitely be here next time I need to bring a dessert somewhere and want to fool people into thinking I'm an amazing baker. I came here on a strong recommendation and was still surprised by how much I loved it! The whole place is a hidden gem. The Earl is my favorite so far, but I've also heard rave reviews of the Hudson and the Lemon drop. We'll be back to keep eating our way through the menu."
"I got a cake for my mom's 55th birthday party and everything was AMAZING! Victoria was very friendly and helped me get the cake for my mom even though I lived in another state. She ensured that I got exactly what I wanted and was very professional. I got the Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake which was delicious and I hit at the party!! I highly recommend Wildflour Cakes and Pastries!!"
"Found out about her business from a coworker of mine. She was polite, through, and the cupcakes were delicious. Will be using her for events."
"Went Sat 1/19/25 looked as they had been busy but they offered to accommodate us ~~ staff was very kind. We got the strawberry crunch slice with cheesecake middle and we got the lemon blueberry crunch slice and a wedding cupcake A MAZ ING my fave was the lemon blueberry crunch it's so innovative I have never had anything like it!! It's a cute little place and we will be back. Thanks for an amazing experience"
