"Decent little shop inside the Norfolk airport. Wide variety of bagels choices and some baguette type breads for paninis. Expect to pay airport prices but it is what it is. I had the turkey panini that came with bacon, lettuce, tomato and provolone. It was okay and filled the void."
"highly anticipated the opening. followed the construction closely. food and service are wonderful. no start-up glitches. all went smoothly. great outdoor dining area too."
"This is a great delicious restaurant for all especially vegans! Wonderful and plentiful options. One of our favorite breakfast & brunch spots! The service is amazing for such busy and area and the upper area is nice to sit and enjoy your beverage and bagel."
"I grew up in Montreal, so I grew up with a different kind of bagel, the best kind. I can't find Montreal bagels around these parts, so the bagels at NY Bagel Cafe seems like the next best thing! Taking into consideration the type of bagels I find in America (huge, dense and tiny hole), these were pretty good. I heard the family is from upstate, so that is already a good start, considering New Yorkers are known for their bagels. For my first visit, I ordered a breakfast bagel with egg, bacon, mozzarella on an everything bagel, toasted. Wow, this bad boy was pretty generous in size and I was stuffed by the end. I should have saved half and saved the other half for later. BUT, there it wasn't. It was gone.Again, for an American bagel, the exterior of the bagel had a nice outer crust, crispy with a nice, even distribution of the everything seasoning. Asking them to toast the bagel for the sandwich was definitely a nice move. The interior of the bagel is dense and chewy. If you squeeze the bagel, it had a nice bounce to it. The egg was cooked perfectly, over hard (but just cooked enough without it being rubbery), bacon crispy and the mozz had just melted enough. I also ordered a baker's dozen to take home, a mix of jalapeno cheddar, everything, sesame, blueberry and French Toast. I really appreciated the fact that they wrapped the French Toast in parchment paper before adding it to the baker's dozen. They definitely get bonus points for that. It is dusted with some powdered sugar, so it's a nice gesture to be like "before you ask, we thought of it already, here's your sweet bagel not touching your savory ones".It will take me awhile to get through the baker's dozen, even with help. The bagels are so large, I can only get through one half at a time. So, before they grow moldy, I already halved them some of them and froze them. Hope they freeze well! Stay tuned...Things to note:- during my visit, it was pretty busy. I think they have online ordering so try that if you're in a hurry.- limited seating. I saw 3 tables of which all were occupied. It's a pretty compact space for their kitchen and seating, so the tables seemed out of place with the long line forming. - they have a pretty good variety of flavors, but they make limited amounts of each, so if it's sold out, try again tomorrow.Enjoy, Friends and never stop exploring!"
"One of my favorite spots to grab breakfast in Williamsburg. My only issues is the price but, to be honest, it is worth the cost. The Bake Shop is as the name indicates. It is a bakery. They make their own bagels along with other delicious treats that are proudly displayed as you order. My go-to is always the Asiago bagel with the scallion and dill shmear. They are good about really loading up their bagels with lots of cream cheese. Outside of my normal go-to, their sandwiches are also great. You really can't go wrong with any of them but my personal favorite is The Burg. Word of warning - this place is very popular with the students. If you try and go here on a Saturday or Sunday morning around 10am when college is in session, expect to have a lengthy wait in line."
"Delicious food and great service. Can't wait to go back. My kids got waffles and we got BLTs."
"The HoneySuckle Cafe opened this past August in the North Colley (NOCO) neighborhood of Norfolk, tucked and hidden from view behind the 7-11 at the intersection of Colley Avenue and 39th Street. As soon as you turn onto 39th Street behind the 7-11, a large house comes into view on the left, directly across from the Stevens Roofing Company Building. This house is the site of the HoneySuckle Cafe.I was told that the house is 104 years old. Based upon what I read elsewhere, the owners, Susan and Ross Fetterly, spent three years building their kitchen. It shows through the love and passion they pour into their food.Their web site describes their cafe as primarily a "Carry Out Cafe." During my last visit, I also counted four tables and a total of 14 seats for their dine-in customers. There is also a small table for 2 out on their front porch. The vibe is warm and cozy, highlighted by the visual display of various paintings adorning their walls that are for sale. The owners and staff members are warm and friendly as well, making it a happy place.I have tried the following dishes to date:CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP: This was their Soup Du Jour offered during one entire week. This one was a delight and warmed my insides with its delicious homemade flavors. My Rating: 5 Stars.CHICKEN & MATZO BALL SOUP: This was their Soup Du Jour during another week and was another winner. The Matzo Ball was huge and exhibited a nice delicate texture. The chicken and its broth were divinely delicious. My Ratng: 5 Stars.JERK CHICKEN BURRITO: This was a jumbo-sized burrito that was cut in two, stuffed with Marinated and Grilled Chicken with Creamy Mac & Cheese and Brown Butter Sauteed Cabbage. This was a special addition and their Sando of The Week, which was not listed on their regular menu. The flavors came through beautifully, leaving me happy and stuffed. My Rating: 5 Stars.TURKEY CHORIZO BREAKFAST BURRITO: This was a special addition to their Brunch menu, consisting of House Made Turkey Chorizo, Sazon Hashbrowns, Folded Egg, Black Beans, Spring Mix, and Sofrito. This was another jumbo-sized burrito cut into two halves. The ingredients exploded with flavor and left me stuffed. I was only able to eat one of the halves and took the rest home for another meal. My Rating: 5 Stars.SALMON AVOCADO BAGEL: This is a regular listing from their Brunch menu, consisting of Smoked Salmon Lox, Avo Mash, Red Onion, Fried Caper, Tomato, Asian Collard Slaw, and Charred Chive Cream Cheese. This one delivered an awesome taste experience as the flavors of all of its different ingredients exploded like fireworks inside my mouth all at once. My Rating: 5 Stars.NOCO PASTRAMI: House Pastrami, Fresh Kraut, Deli Mustard, Baby Swiss, and Rye. This one is listed as one of their regular sandwiches and is one of the chef's favorite creations.Their pastrami is house-made and was tender and delicious. The Fresh Kraut and Rye Bread are made from a local caterer. This one lived up to its reputation for a stellar taste experience. My photo only shows one of its two halves. My Rating: 5 Stars. They also offer a special French Toast addition for their Brunch menu each week. I am kicking myself for missing their Ube French Toast during a recent weekend. I am drooling as I wait for its return and was told it will.Everything I have tried so far has earned a 5-star rating. Combined with the passion, hospitality, and friendly service from their owners and staff members, this review comes out to a slam dunk 5-star rating. I am eagerly looking forward to my future visits."
"Apelu Island Cafe has quickly become one of my new and favorite happy places. It is a Polynesian specialty coffee shop that offers a wide selection of craft coffee and espresso beverages, frappes, loose leaf teas, lattes, and so much more. If you are not a coffee person, such as myself, you are still in good hands. They offer a variety of Lotus Tsunami energy drinks, craft lemonades, refreshers, and smoothies. A number of pastries and a few items from their food menu are also available.Apelu Island Cafe is a small family business that opened in November of last year in the Little Creek Square Shopping Center under the ownership of four Samoan sisters who are as nice as they can be.A Walmart Neighborhood Market occupies the same shopping complex. Apelu is stationed to the immediate right of an Army Career Center toward the left hand end. Parking spaces are abundant.Their front window is etched with the following message that gives you a clue for the type of vibe you will encounter inside: WE-RUN-ON-SAMOAN-TIME.I feel instantly more relaxed as soon as I enter. It feels like an indoor island paradise where time has slowed down. There is a communal sitting area to the right as you enter with a sofa and arm chairs. A number of tables and chairs are available throughout for dining. The decor is splashed with beautiful tropical touches on their walls and throughout their interior. There is a play area for children that adds to its family friendly vibe. A number of their customers have greeted me when I was inside, which made me feel right at home. The word TALOFA is displayed in front of their counter, which means HELLO in Samoan. This is where you place your order with their pastries also displayed and their menus shown overhead. One of the Samoan sisters is always there to greet me and answer any questions I may have. When my order is ready, they bring it out to me.I have enjoyed the following so far from different sections of their menu:THE PACIFIC: This one is listed under their TSUNAMI ENERGY menu with their drinks described as follows: "Made with Lotus! A plant-based energy blend of earth's 7 power plants, B-vitamins, amino acids, and natural caffeine!" This drink is made with Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, Coconut, and Cold Foam. Its flavors came together exquisitely while delivering a mild energy boost that was relaxing as well. My Rating: 5 Stars.TARO-LICIOUS : This is another drink from their TSUNAMI ENERGY menu and is made with Taro, Coconut, and Cold Foam. This one is my favorite of the two, mainly because I love all things made with Taro. Its flavors came through beautifully with a rich and foamy taro taste and texture that was heavenly, along with its gentle energy boost. My Rating: 5-Plus Stars.LAVA FLOW: This is an entry from their craft LEMONADE menu. This one is made with Pineapple, Mango, and blended with Ling-Hi Mui, which is a sweet and salty seasoning made with dried plums, sugar, and licorice.Ling-Hi Mui is popular in Hawaii and Asia and is often sprinkled on fruits, beverages, and other snacks for added flavor. In combination with the other ingredients, it sent this lemonade drink over the top for a uniquely sublime taste experience. My Rating: 5-Plus Stars.LUCKY LEPRECHAUN LEMONADE: This was a special craft LEMONADE drink made available in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. It consisted of Kiwi, Mango, and Cantaloupe Cold Foam, creating a colorful combination that was most fitting for this holiday and was profoundly delicious as well. My Rating: 5 Stars.TARO CUPCAKE: This is the only one of their PASTRIES I have tried so far, and it did not disappoint. It exhibited a moist and flaky texture with a cream topping and a taro flavor that came through with flying colors. My Rating: 5 Stars.SPAM MUSUBI: This was an entry from their FOOD MENU and consisted of Lightly Fried Spam, Rice, and Furikake wrapped in Seaweed. Spam Musubi is a snack dish that was created by Japanese Americans in Hawaii after World War 2.The version served here was a bit smaller than some I've had elsewhere, but its classic flavors came through with full force. The only thing I found missing for my tastes was a little bit of sauce to go with it. My Rating: 4.5 Stars.PIMENTO CHEESE BAGEL: Another entry from their FOOD MENU, this one is made with House Made Pimento Cheese, Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Egg, Sausage, and Spinach in an Everything Bagel sandwich. The combination of ingredients was incredibly filling and delicious. It kept me full for the rest of the day, and I never got hungry for dinner. My Rating: 5-Plus Stars. My work here is nowhere near done. I've also got my eye on their Ube Tart, their Ube Cupcake, and their Guava Strawberry Cupcake for future visits, as well as a few more of their specialty drinks. This review comes with a slam dunk 5-star rating, and this wonderful Samoan family owned business can count me in as a regular customer going forward."
"Skip a brekky sandwich and order a bagel with cream cheese. Everyone in my group who ordered a sandwich felt the filling wasn't balanced with the bagel, so the bites just felt like a whole lot of bread! With the one bagel with cream cheese we did get, it was phenomenal! There is a ton of cream cheese to balance the bagel and honestly, it was the best French toast bagel I've ever had. And the cinnamon raison cream cheese was to die for!!"

Very rude! Ordered two sandwiches, two drinks. And a few cookies. Spent $50 with tip. Food was good. Went back in (only outdoor seating) to order two soups to good. They rudely said, "The kitchen is officially closed!". Its was 2:00. Sites show open until 3. And they couldn't pour two soups. We won't be back. There's plenty with better service closer to home. A good reason not to tip until after service. Very rude!

I first stepped foot in this place nearly 20 years ago and fell in love with the bagels way back when. But I came back recently and found myself pretty stunned by the expansions they've made. The communal working space is amazing--I haven't run into anything else like it in the area.Great work, team.

I enjoyed my food! I got the salt bagel with veggie spread. Service was good and fast even though they had a well deserved line. The ambiance was cute and simple for a bagel cafe

I've been wanting to check The Bake shop out forever. They are always so busy during the W&M school year. So lucky me to catch them after school was out and even score parking up front, The location is just blocks from W&M campus. Parking is 10 minutes in front which can be adequate for pick up, nearby is an hour if eating on the patio, The place is a small walk in. Grab and go beverages and order at the counter. Menus are on the island as you walk in. The bottle drinks were luke warm on a very hot Williamsburg day. It was hard to not be tempted by their pastries, but I showed restraint. The staff was super friendly and helped a first timer decide on a bagel sandwich and drink. Price is fair these days and can tip on the machine. My salmon on everything was delightful. I paired with a bourbon (non alcoholic) ice latte which was super yum! Enjoyed on their patio under and umbrella. Only drawback is everything is grab and go or patio. Will love to come back.

Great coffee in a cozy remodeled building in downtown Creswell. They serve breakfast and lunch too. Located right off the highway. If you need caffeine and can't wait, this rivals coffee shops in Manteo and the OBX.

Honeysuckle Cafe looks unassuming from the outside, but be prepared to have your taste buds overwhelmed in the best way! Service is excellent for this very small mom & pop spot! The owners and chef are a couple and do their best to make sure everything they serve is above and beyond. Make sure you show up hungry, because the portions are massive. I ordered the biscuits and gravy-- absolutely incredible flavor. This dish was so heavy, it stuck to all my ribs in the best way. We also ordered the jalapeño cheddar biscuit sandwich, a damn delight on the tongue. The biscuit is the size of a softball & perfectly flavored. Every layer of this sandwich was perfection. The last dish we had was the sweet potato burrito & ohhhh baby! The chimichurri sauce is the stuff of dreams. Highly recommend to grab a meal here! I'll def be back!

This place is so charming and totally reminds me of my trips to Hawaii! The ladies behind the counter were so sweet and friendly, and a guy I met in line was so encouraging on which items to get (everything) when I told them it was my first time here. Can't wait to try their breakfast bagel and their White Taro Mocha! Only snit was that they don't have spam musubi in yet.... They don't show until about 1030. I'll be here till they arrive

"Finally, BIGGBY in Virginia Beach!! We are from Michigan and always loved Biggby coffee, sandwiches and treats. They really are Great!! We had a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich on ciabatta bread and for drinks we had Golden Chai Latte and a Cream Earl Grey tea Latte. All were served hot and delicious!Remember, they just opened last Tuesday, so be patient as they get into their groove. Believe me, it will be worth it. Can't wait until the next time we go!"
"Smells SO good when you walk in. Like fresh bread and savory toppings. Ordered the Norwegian, and it was so warm and toasted when she handed it to me. Lots of drink selections! They were quick. Ordering, preparing and walking out the door in no time. We will be back!"
"I've been wanting to try BB ever since it opened but due to their hours I haven't been able to - they're closed on Mondays (my day off lol) but I was finally able to venture over the other day. It was so great!! I'm from New York and I can appreciate a fantastic bagel, other bagel shops in town just don't compare to BB! I've heard that they ship their water from NYC for the PH level, and I guess it really does make a difference! We got rainbow bagel sandwiches which were huge and yummy. The sweetened iced coffee was also delish. There isn't much seating inside, mainly a counter along the wall with stools. We were lucky to go on a nice day, there is some patio seating that was great. I can't wait to venture back!"
"Simply amazing! The owner is always so kind and happy when we visit her shop. We have been visiting at least one a year during our vacation and Higher Grounds never disappoints! Beautifully crafted beverages, great merch & food. The shop is decorated perfectly and I am looking forward to our next visit. Higher Grounds is an OBX must!"
"Went here b/c my wife knew the place opened. Heck, I didn't even know about this brand in general. I was pretty glad we went though. We recently went to NYC and wow those bagels were amazing. So I'm a big fan of the everything bagel. I ordered that with some general core stuff and seriously, it's worth a good shake down. If you're from the North East, you'd be hard-pressed to put these on the same platform but not everybody gets to be blessed with water from the Catskill Mountains (it's a thing). Either way, if you're looking for a decent bagel shop in the area - come check it out. I know we'll be back for sure. Food Taste: 4Overall Service: 4Value of food to cost: 5Facility: 5Ambiance: Tiny shop - bagels galore. Very much a 'eat-n-go' place (it's bagels... so it makes sense)Repeat customer: yesDog Friendly: no"
"YUMMMMMMMM. It's been years since I've been here (and not to this location) and yesterday my mom chose this as her lunch spot, I'm glad she did. The gal inside who greeted us was incredibly sweet and welcoming and we chose two sandwiches, chips and drinks. I chose the Turkey, Bacon and Avocado on a Seeded Wheat bagel with turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and roasted tomato spread was great. My mom's was my fav as her flavor and ingredients were perfect. She chose the Tasty Turkey Sandwich with spinach, cucumbers, turkey, lettuce, tomato, chive and onion cream cheese on an asiago bagel. SOOOO good. I'm getting it next time hands down. The mixture of those items with the cream cheese was to die for! Food was ready quickly and it was so good! I'm going to be adding this to my regular rotation when in need of lunch or snacks while in Town Center running errands and shopping from time to time. So worth it!They had several seasonal cold brew and iced and warm coffee flavors as well which is def. something I also want to try. It was spotless, bathrooms were spotless, friendly service, great iced tea and easy in and out with tons of nearby parking in the free garages or on the street if you can find it."
"Great location, the vibe is amazing!!! There is plenty of room for parking out front and it's in the shopping center on the other side of Bakers Crust. When you come in, it feels like you are kind of "forced" to order through the provided kiosks but they offer in person ordering in the coffee bar in the back (Yeah!!! They have an independent coffee bar!).I ordered a Whole Wheat Everything Bagel with Avocado and Roasted Garlic spread and my wife got a sandwich. It was $6 for the bagel and schmear and $14 for the sandwich. Feels a little steep, but the area is that kind.Overall, wasn't SUPER impressed with the Avocado and Roasted Garlic spread, had the hue of avocado, but the garlic was very understated. The bagel itself was great, and my wife DESTROYED her sandwich.I gave it 4 stars-because I will have to try it again."
"New York Bagel is the REAL DEAL...... if you're looking for delicious bagels, mouthwatering corn beef and pastrami, you've come to the right place. If Charlie the owner is there , have him make you "The Pothole", it's not on the menu, loaded with corn beef, pastrami, slice of cheese with his special thousand island dressing on a soft piece of rye bread.....Outstanding Sandwich!!!!! Check it out, especially if your missing that NY flavor."
"On my latest visit to the Eastern Shore I stopped by Peach Street Books in Cape Charles. I've been looking for an old out of print Eastern Shore Cookbook. The bookstore is a testament to Cape Charles itself. In the 90's this town was virtually a ghost town. With some new blood and investment it's now a thriving community once again. For example PSA is a rejuvenated old gas station and garage. You actually enter the store through what used to be the garage area. It's the largest part of the book store and also accommodates the main counter / coffee house portion of the business. In front of that is an outdoor dining area where you can sip your coffee, have a snack and read your purchase. The other half of this area is books, as is the second building and connecting corridor. Books are both new and used and there's plenty to choose from. While PSB has what every other bookstore has, they also have a section that is a wealth of information on Eastern Shore and it's history. Unfortunately I didn't find the book I was looking for, and that includes with help from the very nice lady working the counter going through her computer. She did however make some suggestions for other bookstores on the Eastern Shore to check out.All in all a great place to check out if you're in Cape Charles or on the Eastern Shore. They're located on the corner of Peach Street and Mason Ave in the heart of downtown Cape Charles."
"I enjoyed a sausage, egg, and cheese with vegetable schmear, lettuce, and tomato at The Bagel Baker. The bagel was chewy and fresh, reminiscent of a New York bodega, and very well seasoned and salted. The sausage was excellent, and the schmear was flavorful. Offering a casual diner-style interior with plenty of seating; tables quickly turnover for a fast bite. Just like in New York, you need to be prepared to order (this is not the type of place where you chat with the host)."
"Local small business just down the street from our home. Ambiance: lots of seating both at the small bar and a few tables. Most people opt for take out. They do offer a call ahead option. Useful for the busy season.Food: fresh and huge with plenty of smear. It was a giant smear and I appreciate that. The scallion spread was very tasty. While waiting for our bagels, we wanted to try the mimosaFlight. It was a very generous serving. Service: We had a nice conversation with the owner. We learned of their growth. We encourage others to support this small business."
"Love this place!! It's super cute inside. The staff is friendly. But most importantly the food is tasty and so are the drinks we've tried. I highly recommend this spot."
"Customer service is fast & sweet ! My plain cream cheese bagel was delicious. My tummy was full before I got on my plane. I'm very happy with this place."
