"This was recommended to me by a friend. The pulled pork sandwich was good with coleslaw on top. The french fries and mac and cheese were okay. It was decently priced. There was a parking lot, outdoor seating and indoor seating. The staff was attentive and the service was quick."
"We have been coming to Williamsburg for years and this was a place we clearly have been missing. The customer service was amazing as soon as we walked in the door when we were greeted by Ms. Kecia. We had pancakes, chicken and waffles, and eggs and bacon. I had to check to see if my grandma wasn't in the kitchen. Everything was served hot and fast. Our server was attentive and gave great suggestions. There were regular customers who overheard us trying to decide what to eat and they told us " you can't go wrong with anything you choose". And they were not wrong! Southern Pancake and Waffle will now be our regular breakfast spot every time we visit Williamsburg."

"I stopped in for a late lunch before hitting the road back to Jacksonville. My niece and her husband told me this was their favorite burger joint in Norfolk. It's eclectically decorated with dollar bills on the wall, bras hanging from a light and two random beauty shop hair dryers. There were also lockers in front of the bar stools at the bar. You can look around for hours and still find something new. Our server was OK, not the friendliest. But the food made up for it! The burger was tasty and juicy. The fries were hot and crispy. Their special house made sauce had me eating way more fries than I typically eat. It's a small spot, so you may have to wait for a table. If you like a good smash burger, be sure to give them a try."
"After six hours on our feet at Colonial Williamsburg, we were ready for food, and assumed we would be eating at one of the park's taverns. It turned out that the food options were either closed for some special event or closed because they were just closed. A very helpful park employee urged us to skip the park food altogether and head to the north end, where independent restaurants were serving better food at a reasonable price. One we had noticed before was, of course, closed Tuesdays, but when we walked up to Berret's we knew we had found the place. Our waitress Marnie, it turns out, was born on Long Island, but moved out as a child. The decor was perfect for getting us in a seafood mood, and I was quick to check out one of the many craft beers from the area. I ordered brie en crote with grilled shrimp and Donna got a crab cake with the obligatory grits. We always skip breakfast, so we had just enough room left to try the bread pudding with berry sauce. The food was, at all times, a treat for the eye and the pallet. A lovely experience."
"Big drinks...Big breakfast ...Big Sam's. We rolled in hot on New Years morning and were met with some top notch bloodies at the door. Although the place was busy, the big idea at Big Sam's to just relax. No rush. I did the waterman's breakfast which is three eggs, toast, hash pens and a gigantic crab cake. I would argue that it's one of the best crab cakes in Hampton Roads. Nothing fancy...just a giant perfectly prepared cake. Loaded with crab and grilled so there's a little crispy carmalization on each side. Delicious. Prices are very mild and the service is friendly. If you're not in the right mood to 'relax' then go somewhere else."
"Someone took me for a birthday lunch. I chose the location for a first time visit. They have a very extensive menu. The burgers we both had were ok, we finished them but dont think I would return to have again. The fries were overly browned on the outside but partially raw on the inside, so very unpleasant to eat. The dining area is small and clean about 4 tables and surrounded in art befitting of the theme. The experuence wasnt a wow."
"I'm been bringing my Dad to my favorite lunch/dinner spots and of course The Ten Top was on my list. He loves soup so he was happy to see they had 5 choices! He opted for the Tomato Parmesan and he really enjoyed the flavor. It was also plentiful and came with a slice of bread. I had the daily special which was the Pesto Chicken Flatbread and it was super. Loved the arugula on it as well as the shaved Parmesan. Very tasty and the personal size was filling. I couldn't finish it! Always so glad to see that a great local spot remains consistently great. Dine in here or take out without hesitation."
"We came to citrus on a Tuesday afternoon No wait and the food is outstanding! The grapefruit mimosa is the best I've tried in the area. The service is great, too! Prices really aren't bad especially compared to places like ihop now, you get better tasting food for about the same price. Excellent breakfast"
"This restaurant always has so many options! They have menu specials written on the board and also posted on their facebook page. This visit I tried the appetizer wings which were large and moist. I would definitely recommend. I also tried the pulled chicken. I thought the chicken was a little dry so I will stick to the pork but it was still full of smoky flavor. I usually get sweet potato fries with maple dipping sauce which is my favorite side here! The dipping sauce really heightens the flavor! The coleslaw was good as well. They have the best limeade in Richmond and I get it every time. Also, the house bbq sauce goes with everything because it's delicious! Highly recommend the restaurant!"
"I've had this place bookmarked forever and was so excited to go! It's a small cute quaint spot and definitely gives you a mom and pop vibe. The staff is helpful and patience as to the questions you may have about the menu. I heard about the wings so that is what the hubs and I knew that we had to get. But ugh...the wings were fried a little too hard and the sauce we had didn't really taste good. I also had the salmon Po boy and it was ok. Didn't realize he had cheese on it, so I would definitely omit that next time. But overall, they have a menu that will get your tummy full."
"80/20 is one of the best burger and appetizer spots and the best part is that they're open late! You can either parallel park on 21st St or if you're lucky, you can park in the lot behind the restaurant. Easiest street parking would probably be available on 20th St. The appetizers are fantastic. Every appetizer I've had has been good but I keep coming back for their spinach and leek dip and their mozzarella sticks. The dip is creamy and flavorful. You can get your fries topped with the dip! The mozzarella sticks are thick and have the perfect cheese pull. You can dip them in the marinara or an Alfredo sauce. The burgers?! You really can't go wrong. All of the ones I've had have been amazing. Down to the one covered in puff pastry! There are lots of options, you can do their regular burger, a meatless burger, or even a bison burger! Not only do I recommend this place for late night eats, a casual lunch meet up, or delicious dinner, but they have good brunch too!Service is good; I get what I order, my box, and a check. It's a very chill environment. Big dive bar vibes but one step up in casual dining"
"Great service. Good food. My steak was a bit more done than I wanted, but the food was great! Great hush puppies!"

I have always wanted to stop by and try this place on my way down to the Carolina's and I finally got my chance! It's a gravel parking lot, but there was a good number of spots - granted we ate in the afternoon instead during the lunch/dinner rush. There was plenty of seating and space. We were greeted promptly by the staff who had a cheery demeanor. My friends and I ended up ordering the brisket and 1/2 rack with 2 sides each (mac and cheese, fries, slaw, and sweet potato) as well as thee cue balls (sweet potato with jalapeño). Service was great and they even offered to provide plates for my party to share - family style.Everything tasted great, but the standouts for me were the brisket (loved the taste and moistness) and slaw (dressing is light, different, and amazing). We even left butting a bottle of their dressing - they also sell bottles of their BBQ sauce too!I definitely recommend hitting up this spot if you are roadtripping through the area!

To say that we had a great breakfast was an understatement. Everything was wonderful and Tia was a great hostess! I told them they should use a little swagger when they were told everything was absolutely delicious and they enjoyed the compliment - which is not an exaggeration by any means. They said their owner's motto is "Let them eat," and they are doing it well. The inside is decorated with lots of really neat items and the place was super clean. If you do not stop here while in Williamsburg - you're missing out! And - if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. The pancakes and eggs to order are great. The biscuits and gravy were very flavorful and the biscuits soft and fluffy. The Greek omelette was exceptionally well done. I cannot think of one thing I would change. Great value for the money and service!

This place is our go to Burger joint. It never disappoints!!We are fairly new to the area, and the burgers are the best that we've tasted. It's a very unique place, there's dollar bills on all of the walls and different random decorations inside the bar at the bar and also tables to sit inside and one outside. For the most part, everything is clean despite being a bar, and a pretty like grungy bar at that. The staff is usually nice and OnPoint.I usually get the classic Jack, add an over, medium egg, and pepper jack cheese instead of American, my husband, and I share a basket of fries, and my husband gets the doctor gonzo . Super delicious !!Added bonus, they have fried Oreos that are two dollars each and sooooo good!! The JB sauce is delicious to put on the fries or the burger. If you have not been to this burger joint, you are missing out!

Lunch at Berrets was such a treat. There was a bit of a wait for a table, so I sat at the bar. It wasn't loud and the people around me were friendly and looking for conversation. The bartender was also very friendly and quick. I got my water almost instantly. The shrimp po boy sandwich was one of their lunch specials and it was way better than I was expecting. I don't think you could even call it a sandwich because there was so much shrimp, I couldn't even close it, so I ate it with a fork. In addition to having the most shrimp I've ever seen on a sandwich, it was delicious and very filling. I also got the potato salad on the side, but the sandwich was the star.

This is a must go-to for your burger needs! Viking has been on my radar for a while and finally had the chance to stop by, and it lived up to the hype! First off excellent customer service. The guy behind the counter answered all of our questions as well as brought out samples of two of their sauces for my husband to try to see how spicy they were. My husband got the Valhalla burger stuffed with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños and had the spicy sauce all over it. It hit his spice palette and he ate the whole thing. Also got their fries. Very good fresh cut fries! I got a single patty with American cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato and pickle! It hit the spot and was delicious. Tried my combo with onion rings and they were good but I just didn't prefer the seasoning they used on them. Will be back to try more of their Viking burgers!

I love this place. Since first coming here in 2016, we've probably been here at least 20-30 times. This is a feat in itself as it takes us almost an hour to get here. People often ask me for good food places and The Ten Top is the 1st place I always mention. When I worked down the street at VDH we would order take out all the time, and I only worked there 8 months! Anytime I find myself in Norfolk, we visit TTT. The food is always fresh, it is always delicious and the staff are always friendly. I've had a 3rd of the menu (some things I just don't eat, no reflection on TTT menu) and am always stalking their specials. We found ourselves in Norfolk to see a friend and stopped in for lunch. I had my favorite turkey apple club and hubby had his, the meatloaf sandwich and ordered a bowl of soup du jour, Creamy Chicken Cheese Tortellini-y'all, I am NOT a soup person but I was freezing cold, a little melancholy and needed a comfort only a childhood memory could satisfy, and that soup satisfied everything I needed that day. Hubby barely finished his sandwich because he wanted soup, soup and more soup. We even had leftovers and he finished the soup before his sandwich. To say I love this place would be an understatement. I've shared them with about 20 friends, coworkers and even strangers because they are just that good.

This was an unexpected treat! It was recommended by family who had visited years ago. We asked the server for her recommendation based on top ordered food. It was fantastic! We ordered the Loaded Gouda Grits and the Lynnhaven - both based on her recommendation. We have never had grits this smooth and creamy. Wonderful experience and we will go back if we are ever in the area again.

"Food was nothing short of amazing! Everything came out in such perfect timing from the appetizers. The staff was super helpful and insanely welcoming! I personally ordered the Brian's Classic which was a delicious assortment of Surf & Turf with a perfectly baked potato and salad topped with just the right amount of toppings."
"With an ambiance that reminds you of a wood fire grill kitchen, it holds everything you need for friend, family and solo dining. The food choices peak any interest, and the staff is always inviting and willing to help or answer any question you have. My favorite feature is the wine bar. 24 selections with a wine card. A great time for any occasion."
"Been coming here for years as part of our annual OBX family trip around Thanksgiving. It's charming and cozy, but they can still accommodate larger parties (we are a group of 7) if you can handle going upstairs, and are ok being up close and personal haha We called a week in advance to have the most flexibility in time and date for a party our size, and they were happy to help us as we needed to adjust a little. Check their website, this time of year I think they only have evening hours, so the phone line doesn't open until later afternoon as well. Everyone here is friendly and the food is delicious! Some of our go-tos are the Crab Bisque, Scallop Rumaki, and Brie appetizers. I always try to get their special that is usually salmon in a light cream sauce, topped with crab and served with asparagus and whipped potatoes of some variety. The salmon is always amazing! This year the special was served with flounder instead. I found it too bland, compared to what I'm used to from them, but perhaps that's just how flounder is?Some other entree regulars in the family are Shrimp & Scallop Napoleon, and the Seafood Pasta. The only catch (pun intended?) is that both are creamy, saucy dishes. Great for taste, but not for having to pick your shrimp. Unfortunately, the kitchen leaves the tails on the shrimp in these dishes, and when we asked about it the kitchen said they do not/would not shell them. Meaning you have to pick your saucy shrimp out and de-tail them yourself. It's a bit messy, especially at a white table cloth establishment, and means you either have to use your bread plate, or you are digging around in your dish and hope you don't slip and send any food flying. If you are looking for fine dining, romantic setting, elevated seafood... Colington Cafe is certainly a delight (aside from the shrimp tails ;))"
"My girlfriends and I decided to go to brunch at the Porch Long Creek. Much to our dismay they really don't offer Brunch. The closest thing to "Brunch" would be their Bloody Mary's and Mimosa. Btw, both libations were superb! The ladies and I didn't care because the view, the service and the cuisine was well worth it. I had the crab cakes sandwich and it was delish..no fillers and being from Maryland.. that's impressive. Only thing I wished is that they would have added Old Bay in the mix. The ladies loved their dishes and we love the experience in dining on The Porch. Next time we are going to go to The Porch during dinner service. Bravo!"
"First time driving out to Blue Pete's over the weekend for a birthday dinner and we had a great experience! Well worth the drive out to Pungo, in my opinion. Although they were busy, we were seated pretty quickly. We had a great server who was attentive despite being busy. The vibe is great! I love being able to eat on the water and they had live music which was good. If you're not a fan of live music while you eat, definitely recommend eating inside or checking the calendar before you head over there. The food was delicious! I had the mango mahi which I enjoyed but I did snag a bit of a crab cake from someone I was with and it was honestly the best crab cake I've had in the area."
"The food was AWESOME, the ambiance is beautiful and the service was super amazing! It was a very peaceful environment and the perfect place for my boyfriend and I to enjoy the evening with each other. Highly recommend!"
"In OBX for a family vacation. Stopped by here randomly based on online reviews. I'm very happy. Restaurant was busy, but not crowded, and the service was super fast. They start with the lightest, fluffiest hush puppies I've ever had, and they were great. The whipped butter complemented them perfectly.I got the "Pick Your Catch" and got the Crab Cake and OBX Shrimp. The shrimp was large, lightly breaded, fried and very fresh tasting. The Crab Cake was very meaty with a great blend of spices. My kids got the Chicken and Waffles, and were happy with them. Wife got the popcorn shrimp, and has happy as well. I tried some and it was yummyOverall, a good vacation dinner. Not sure if it would be a tradition, but ai would come again."
"The food was absolutely amazing. I got the French toast delights with strawberries and my fiancé got them with banana. We both strongly agree that we've never had better breakfast food."
"I was reminiscing about some of my favorite spots from when I lived in Virginia Beach and realized I never left a review! Here are my long overdue 5 stars for Lucky Oyster.I'll be honest, the first time I came here, like 3-4 stars. I put it in the "just another seafood bar in a city full of great seafood bars" mental category. As I had more experiences at Lucky Oyster and the other area seafood bars, this became one of my favorites. Locally owned and operated, the Food is consistent, the drinks are great, and the staff was on it even when we came with larger groups. It can be a little busy, but it's got a "sit back, relax, and stay awhile" energy that doesn't make even the busier times feel that bad. Lexi was our go-to server - always a delight! I've moved across the country, but Lucky Oyster is on my list of spots I want to return to enjoy again during a future visit!"
"Finally made it to Dot's Back Inn! Food's good, with a nice varies menu. The service was good, but boy o boy, is it loud! Parking can be tricky along MacArthur"
"I love this cozy local haunt. You can find The Hill Café in Church Hill. There is free parallel street parking out front and nearby. You can also take the bus or bike here.My bestie and I came for RVA Brunch Weekend. They open at 10:30am on Sundays. We got there a little early so stopped by Riverbend Roastery to grab a drink nearby. We were seated quickly at a very cute two person booth. There is plenty of seating here, both inside and outside. We loved our server. She was super sweet and made us feel welcome. I love when you don't feel rushed at a place, but also very taken care of. I ordered 2 Eggs your way and my friend got the Fried Green Tomato BLT sandwich. I'm rarely a home fries person, but I really liked their home fries here. I also really enjoyed my biscuit. My friend adored her sandwich and the potato salad. I highly recommend brunch at The Hill Café."
"We stopped in for a Sunday lunch before heading out of town. It was not very busy. My boyfriend has a lot of food allergies and we learned that the owners family is celiac which is why there was such an extensive gluten free menu. They have separate cutting boards, friers and cooking areas to make sure no cross contamination. His aunts had the fish tacos which they loved! I had the club sandwich which was excellent and my boyfriend had the gluten free club! We really enjoyed it!"
"The food hit the spot for a late-night meal. The pretzel starter came out warm and the accompanying stone-ground mustard and sausage gravy-like sauce to dip it in were tasty. The brussel sprouts were just how I love them - fried to a crispy-crunchy texture. I enjoyed the pork belly BLT; a more substantial take on the traditional BLT. The service was decent; the food arrival was timed well. I think the staff was helping each other out bc we basically interacted with 3 different people. Overall, it's slightly elevated pub food; I'd come back to enjoy the entertainment side of the house, along with a beer."
"Veteran owned and operated. Woman owned and operated. These facts, plus the great reviews, made me look forward to giving this place a try, and I wasn't disappointed. It has a fun diner, nautical, military feel. Service was pleasant, quick, and attentive. My biggest issue coming here was finding something not boring on the menu that wasn't huge!I settled on the Perfect Pier Pancakes - 2 large stacked pancakes made from scratch sprinkled with powdered sugar. I made them chocolate pancakes with two eggs over hard and bacon on the side. You might be thinking that this sounds like a lot of add-ons as I wasn't looking for a huge meal. Well, outside the $1 for the chocolate chips, everything else was included with the Perfect Pier.Everything was great. I usually completely skip breakfast. When I don't, something sweet comes even more rarely. So, this was a real treat for me and the perfect place to make it happen."
"We got takeout from 185; Put in an order on their website and drove down to pick it up.Location (4/5): located in a residential area, it's a cute house restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating options. Parking lot is on the smaller side but it's relatively decent parking. Service (3/5): it was hard to know where to pickup the food when I walked in. There is a counter in the back by the kitchen where you pay, but there was a group of people milling around the front door, and nobody to direct us or greet us.When I finally walked up the counter, nobody even glanced my way. When someone finally glanced my way and asked me what I needed, it was with the sourest expression. Everyone has bad days, but overall I did not get the warm and fuzzies from any of the staff as I watched and waited for half an hour by the door. Ambiance (5/5): the vibe is cute, with assorted dining tables and chairs for the inside, and a cute spacious patio on the outside. It's not huge, but it isn't cramped either. Did not use the bathroom but I did notice a small hallway with that looked like a womens and mens. They have a couple of highchairs for little patrons.Food (5/5): we got the brisket breakfast burrito with jam, and it was on point. More eggs than brisket, but everything was cooked and seasoned well. French toast was great. We will definitely be back for the food alone."
"Somewhat tucked away on a side street in Smithfield, we missed this treasure! What a great experience with an amazing somewhat erie historical background! Seems this old building was a funeral home / crematorium. All the wood, tables, everything are from original historical buildings. As I understand the story, the kitchen area now - was the crematorium.Well, whatever they were "cookin", some deliciousness with a side of "fried green tomatos" was on the menu. We delighted in the stories as much as the food! From a super beefy burger to my amazing blackened Cesar salad, it was a welcomed treat to our hungry bellies! Our server Kylee was fantastic and super attentive! Definitely one to add to our regulars! Highly recommended!"
"We are occasional diners at Red Drum Grill. This time we were attracted by the Friday Fish and Chips special during the off-season. The fish was accompanied by fries and coleslaw. The fish was hot, fresh and flavorful. It was flounder and is mild. This is fish for those who don't like strong fish. The portions for lunch are not huge so we were able to avoid leftovers. We both felt the slaw (clear dressing style) was improved over previous visits. I don't know if that represents a change or if it is just variability. In the past it has been flat, but this time it had backbone. I still like to sprinkle on some Texas Pete as I do with my fish. We had a nice lunch. I am adding a star for the improvement in the slaw."
"The food was tasty...The organization of getting the food to each person was a sloppy mess. We waited over an hour to receive a pizza pie and a sub; based on the orders being called as each item was ready instead of calling orders when full orders were ready. If Gordon Ramsay was eating there he would have shut it down. Again food tastes, great. But, with the ridiculous wait time we ended up taking the second part of our order to go as a one hour wait for a basic sub was truly unacceptable. If we ever go back we would order al carte to make sure we were not forgotten. And on top of it the manager was chatting with a friend at a table having probably no idea what was going on in the kitchen."
"My neighbor raved about the wings at Bubba's 33 so while in the area, I stopped in and tried them out for myself. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the host and were seated right away. Carter, our server, was super nice and since it was our first time, she informed us of all the house made items that they make and how they pride themselves on making as much of their food from scratch.Since I knew I wanted wings, we quickly ordered the Bubba's Famous Traditional Wings, 18 count, which is served with 2 sauces. The Raspberry Chipotle sauce definitely stood out and Carter mentioned it was a sweet and smoky flavor but we decided on the Honey Chipotle BBQ and Hot sauce along with a half order of the Onion Rings. The Onion Rings came out first and they were the best I'd ever had from a restaurant, hands down. They were coated with seasoning and were very light and crispy! The half order only came with 6 rings but next time, I definitely will be ordering more. The wings were served soon after and were delicious!!!! The Honey Chipotle BBQ was sweet but had a wonderful, smoky, BBQ taste and the Hot wasn't like any other Hot wing I've ever tasted. The sauce was perfection! I love a nicely, coated, saucy wing and they did not disappoint! The wings were incredible!!! Definitely check out Bubba's 33 if you're in the mood for some absolutely amazing wings and great service."
"I love going here. And right now for the rib special for their 25th anniversary? You can't beat it. Server I had last time was dope and helped me with everything including a survey that got me some free dessert, and the place was a nice volume so my mother and father were able to watch the game while also enjoying a nice evening out and still talk to each other. Go if you love some ribs, chicken wings, or just some good smoked meats at a pretty reasonable price."
"Wonderful creekside seating. Crab dip is off the charts. Great stop when driving south on Eastern Shore of VA"
"Just a really great experience from beginning to end. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and patient. The drinks came quickly (the half-price happy hour crushes are a tremendous deal!), and the food also followed pretty quickly. The food! The presentation was great, the portions were ENORMOUS, and everything was absolutely delicious. I seriously cannot gush adequately about what an incredible value was the food. The loaded nachos must have had two pounds of beef on the plate! It was insane! Such a great value. We will DEFINITELY be back."
"So this rating is mainly due to the service and somewhat the food that I am only giving three stars. I loved the location/ambiance and for the 757 area it definitely is hard to find a nice by the waterfront seafood restaurant so it was really great to find this place.I definitely would recommend going once on a nice sunny day to hang out by the waterfront with a gorgeous view of the marina and just sit outside and order some good seafood and appetizers! We went for a work lunch and we got a calamari for the table which was good but nothing extraordinary in my opinion and then we all ordered different sandwiches with fries. Again the fries were just average and a little bit soggy for my taste and the sandwich was nothing special either. Out of everything I would definitely get the calamari again as it was not too oily or too breaded. Service wise our waiter was definitely not on top of our orders and we had to remind him multiple times about certain dishes and he did not even give us dip for the fries that he kept saying he would bring out. He would also randomly come into our conversations which I do not mind once or twice, but he kept on trying to talk to us and ask too many questions about our personal lives. If it were not for this would maybe have given it a four star but even then the food was not anything crazy to rave about especially because the portion size for the pricing was also not ideal.Would recommend for someone who wants seafood once or a nice view but besides that might not go again myself."
