It was delightful! Ambiance: We had our drinks in the bar area and it was nice and comfortable. Went into the main sitting room and they had a fire going. Bathrooms were clean. Service: Hostess who sat us, was nice and sweet. Waitress was very attentive and kind.Bartender checked to see how we enjoyed the cocktail and was very friendly."

"Wow! Im adding this to my list of favorite restaurants. If you're reading this, go to Ten10! What are you waiting for?!The restaurant is clean and spacious, and the owners were so kind. There was one person on the grill, so there was a little wait to get our food, but it was so worth it! (That's coming from someone who can go from hungry to hangry in a blink. I don't say that lightly lol)Everything on the menu is $10 or less, except the platters which are $15, and the portions were huge. I left feeling so full and still having more for lunch tomorrow. We ordered Mediterranean options, so that's what I'll describe, but they also had NY style pizza and other American food. There's something for everyone to enjoy. Lentil soup is my favorite soup, so I had to try it. It was delicious, and the fried pita croutons gave it a beautiful crunch. The hummus was bursting with flavor. I love how tart the mint lemonade is. We came here specifically to try the falafel, and I was not disappointed. Everything was delicious and plated beautifully. Ten10 is going to be our go-to Mediterranean spot from now on. We'll definitely be back and soon!"

"Met a friend for lunch recently. Both of us had the meatloaf meal that came with mashed potatoes, green beans and onion rings. The plate came with two large slices of meatloaf, a very hearty portion. Everything was delicious. The green beans were cooked soft and still a great compliment. The onion rings are tasty and crispy.The staff was great checking in for drink refills at intervals that were friendly but not intrusive. The diining room is quite large and nearly full the day we were there, but noise level was not overwhelming. We easily were able to hear each other. Restaurant has its own parking lot at rear, quite large to accommodate."

"Took our daughter to lunch for her birthday yesterday and oh what a beautiful dining area! The furnishings are elegant yet comfortable. We sat at a window with a view of the courtyard--picture perfect for weddings. Our server, Stephen, was attentive, professionally friendly, and took several good pictures of the birthday girls and I to remember our time together. There was a full buffet with salads and lots of add-ins, fresh and delicious fruit, veggies, meats, and desserts. The coffee was especially good. Definitely will return!"

"On 3/18/23, I dined at New River Taphouse for the first time with a group of friends. We were a party of 9 - we enjoyed excellent food & drink and impeccable service, all within a pleasant establishment. We had reservations and, after waiting for quite a while (I'll discuss later), we were seated. Initial table greet was instant and the drinks we ordered were placed at our table quickly. Our half of the table ordered an appetizer - the Fire Cracker Shrimp. This appetizer is lightly battered & fried shrimp tossed in sweet Thai chili sauce; served with homemade ranch. It was delicious - the batter wasn't too thick and didn't take away from the shrimp, and the Thai chili sauce provided the right amount of heat. It was a fantastic way to whet our appetites. In the meantime, we enjoyed drinks while chatting and catching up. I didn't grab pics of everyone's entrees, but one friend had the Crab Stuffed Rockfish (crab stuffed rockfish with Old Bay hollandaise; served with parmesan risotto & chef's vegetables) and another kept it simple - Fish n Chips (a generous portion of fried cod served with cole slaw, fries & tartar sauce). They both enjoyed their food and, based on what I saw, their entrees looked delectable. I was hungry, so I opted for the Ribeye & Lobster Tail (14oz ribeye paired with a steamed lobster tail; served with asparagus & mashed potatoes). This entree was excellent (not to mention humongous). The only issue I had was with the ribeye - it was too fatty. Out of the 14 oz., I'd say roughly 3-4 oz. of it was fat. I understand ribeyes (yeah, I worked at Outback Steakhouse, haha) are typically fatty (that's why they're so flavorful) but this much fat is technically not servable as the customer gets shortchanged. My meal was excellent, regardless, so this wasn't an issue (it may be if I get another fatty ribeye during future visits). Through no fault of New River's own, they were not able to sit us for a 6pm reservation (we were sat over an hour later). We were a big party and they had one section in mind for us. The problem was that the party currently there decided to stay well after they paid their tab. Ten minutes turned into 20. Twenty minutes turned into 45 - when asked by the staff, their excuse was they wanted to finish one of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament games (Arkansas upset defending national champion, and #1 seed, Kansas). But when that game ended, that party continued to sit there, order nothing and chat as if they were in their own dining room. Eventually the New River staff requested they leave because of our reservation. Those d**kheads had the nerve to stare us down as they walked past us. Whatever, you paid your tab and are taking money away from the staff because you're not ordering anything else. Also, regardless of your age and status (they were all over 50 and looked well-to-do), I have no problem knockin' a motherf**ker out for being a jerk, especially when that toxicity is directed at my friends and I. Their sense of entitlement was startling, but not at all surprising. Anyways, get the f**k out. I love the fact that the New River staff looked out for us. This effort obviously carried over to our dining experience, so I have nothing but praise for this establishment. Their food is excellent (keep working on the ribeyes, though!), too. Thank you, New River, for a fantastic first impression. I look forward to many future visits. JV"

I'm not even talking about the fancier ones, I had the ordinary bacon cheeseburger and it was divine. This was back on October 16th 2015. The promised avalanche of meat materialized sparsely, leaving vast expanses of cheese-laden dough yearning for their carnivorous companions. Even the pepperoni, usually a reliable hero, seemed to shrink under the spotlight, its once-crisp edges yielding to a softened state.The Kahuna pizza offered a slightly brighter note. Fresh pineapple and salty prosciutto engaged in a tango on the dough, but the choreography was decidedly off-kilter. Some bites had juicy fruit and savory ham, while others were quite bare of tapping. It was a pizza of islands, each harboring its own distinct feast, but lacking the harmonious cohesion that elevates a pizza to greatness.The fried calamari, sadly, followed the pattern of inconsistency. "We have been coming to Williamsburg for years and this was a place we clearly have been missing. The customer service was amazing as soon as we walked in the door when we were greeted by Ms. Kecia. We had pancakes, chicken and waffles, and eggs and bacon. I had to check to see if my grandma wasn't in the kitchen. Everything was served hot and fast. Our server was attentive and gave great suggestions. There were regular customers who overheard us trying to decide what to eat and they told us " you can't go wrong with anything you choose". And they were not wrong! Southern Pancake and Waffle will now be our regular breakfast spot every time we visit Williamsburg."

"Oh my goodness I have no idea where to start. We ordered the fish, the chicken, collard greens Mac and cheese and the yams. EVERY SINGLE THING WAS THE BOMB!The skin on the chicken was super crispy without being overly greasy, it was like eating pork rinds or kettle chips. The fish was flaky, moist and perfectly seasoned without being too salty. The collard greens tasted very fresh and the juices tasted really good on the bread that came with the meal. The Mac and cheese emotionally fulfilled me in ways that I can't describe. And to top it all off the mumbo sauce was superb. Jones Soul Food is the best hole in the wall spot I've been to in Tappahannock PERIOD. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area again."

They had a staff issue and only two servers. They had for hire signs on the door. We had a brand new waitress, who was timid but attentive. She didn't introduce herself, but shout out to her for taking the first step.Justin had the French Onion soup, if you follow me here, he loves to taste em all! It was good but not really a traditional FO. It was more like Au Jus for dipping a sandwich, but still had a good flavor. He also had the fried shrimp special, thought for sure it would have come with fries but 12 shrimp is what you got. The waitress didn't know what it can with. He enjoyed them none-the-less.I love chicken parm, that is what I ordered. It was a huge portion over spaghetti, baked and covered in sauce. It was delicious!! I could only eat half.They don't carry dessert any more the waitress said, but... that's ok we were full. In conclusion, if you are looking for fancy- this is not the place, but is if you are hungry and want great tasting food.Good job to the chef!"

And for sure, Monty's has THE BEST onion rings in town. The rest of the food was hot and delicious. We love the garlic sauce, nice and spicy. The orange and general tso actually have pieces of chicken rather then just breading. If you like greasy, flavorful and hot Chinese food this should be your new spot."
