Burger Haven

Went here because of all the hype in the newspaper (for real). It's both out of the way and located off the beaten path for me. But I couldn't help to try.So did the hype live up to the name? Sorta, leaning to positive yes. First off, the food, it's pretty decent. However, the reason is because of the value for what you're paying for. The food cost is pretty fair in comparison to what else is out there. If you're looking for a solid meal at a decent price, that's about what sums this place up. Because you're not finding yourself giving up a ton of money like other places, the value of the meal increases substantially. Then when you find yourself liking it, that's an even bigger win. Overall, I think the newspaper and the place itself is pretty spot on. It's good, it's definitely worth a shot and if you happen to be in the area, give it a whirl. We've had this on our list for a while and finally tried it out on a Saturday afternoon. I'm pretty sure it was a Burger King prior to becoming Burger Haven so it has the same ambiance of a fast food chain. The inside is the same, and to be honest, the customer service was much the same as well, the lady at the checkout didn't have much of a welcoming attitude and didn't even crack a smile.The place was somewhat clean. Hubby ordered the mushroom burger combo and a soda. I ordered the lettuce burger, and our son ordered the 10-piece chicken nuggets. We also ordered their jalapeno poppers. I was very impressed with my lettuce burger! It was delicious! The lettuce was wrapped perfectly around the burger. It had cheese, tomatoes, onions, and a yummy sauce and it was great! Their nuggets were very good. OMG the jalapeno poppers were amazing! Probably my favorite! All this for around $32. Not bad. I don't usually frequent fast food joints but this was an exception. I'm glad I tried them out. I must say I was pleasantly and surprisingly impressed.

Waited in line terribly long- like 15 to 20 minutes long. From the hype and all the pictures I've seen I was fine to wait the long because it doesn't appear to be fast food quality. I upgraded my meal to a milkshake instead of soda and the milk shake quality is great! I got a side of fries and zucchini fries. I think I was accidentally charged extra for the zucchini fries and I got two sides of fries. Fries quality is fantastic. Big, thick, soft yet crunchy. I don't recommend the zucchini fries though as they were mushy and I personally didn't care for the breading - too sweet. Others may really enjoy them though so don't let my opinion deter you!The burger was perfect size and I thought the bun quality was pretty good and toasted perfectly. The pickles didn't taste very fresh nor did the tomato and I didn't care for their house made thousand island. I didn't think the burger Patty itself had much taste either. Over all I thought the burger was a solid 5/10. It wasn't awful, but I likely won't eat it again. In total I spent $24 dollars and I personally think that was priced a little high for everything....I have high hopes for this place as they are still newish and probably working out some kinks, but I likely will not be a repeat customer for a bit. Willing to give them a shot later down the road!

I got a bacon burger and fries and it was on point!! Highly recommend to anyone that wants a fresh, delicious, quality burger.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally had it for lunch today.I apologize for not snapping a photo of the menu.We both had the classic cheeseburger, me a single and him a double, you can get a triple!!!! We got the meal deal where you get a side and a drink.The presentation really was great and the portion sizes are a good size. We loved the toasted buns and the special sauce on our all the way burgers. Lunch was $32, not bad for the amount of food. We both couldn't believe how good this place was. What have we been waiting for? Shame on us!!My only critique would be we ate there and the restaurant was hot, so we ate and ran!We will definitely go back and try the bacon burgers, I've heard great things!If you go let me know how you liked it!!!!

I went here on a Sunday afternoon, around 3pm. This place is kind of deep in Chesapeake so I was hoping the food would be worth it. We sat inside which was a typical burger joint setting , some booths and some tables, plenty of room. We ordered mozzarella sticks a classic burger meal and a bacon burger meal with an Oreo shake. The mozzarella sticks were very mid and the cashier forgot to give us the marinara sauce so I wouldn't order these again. The burger was a 5/10 nothing special about it, I like how fresh it was but I think hardees has got them beat for the cheeseburgers. The fries were good nothing to complain about there. The best part of this meal was the Oreo shake, it was thick and pretty good.Overall I wasn't over the moon for this place and for it to be about 25 min from my place I wouldn't go back, even though I am always willing to travel for good food.

My husband and I had the original burger combo and the western burger combo as well as a chocolate shake. The staff was working HARD! They almost seemed a little understaffed for the volume of people they were serving which is my only feedback- our ticket took about 30 minutes to fulfill. The dining room did need a quick wipe down as well, but again, the staff was stretched and may need to discuss strategies. The food was amazing. The patties were well seasoned, had those crispy fried edges and juicy middle. The sauce profile on both sandwiches was something you'll crave. Our onion rings were huge and crisp as were the fries. My chocolate shake was thick and felt like high quality dairy. We will definitely be back!

Food was not bad, but service was a bit slow considering that almost no one was in line or waiting. We went on a slow weeknight and was surprised to see several people come in from the drive through with mistakes to their orders. Also, the guests after us waited a long time for their food as well. The food was not bad, it was just very average. Sadly, the wait exceeded the food quality and for the price, you can find better burgers nearby. That said, we may give it another chance. And you should too.

The setting is like I stepped back in the 80's. Not sure if they were going for that look and feel. Service was okay. The burger was good. The bacon was spectacular. The fries were over salted. The smoothie was...I will just say I don't recommend.

Delicious, fresh, good quality burgers and awesome fries. Friendly service, you can tell the owners and workers want to provide good service. I'm coming in later today with friends, looking forward to it!
