Back in Virginia and as long as I have been living here this place has eluded me but today is the day of destiny. Orders of smoked wings ribs and half chicken went in and kids smoked cheese burger. The hush puppies were good the strong beans were a bit salty the greens were ok. The seating area was clean and spacious brightly lit food was great portions and the side well the Mac and cheese was lack lustre with flavor the Cole slaw needs work but the hot was the smoked wings were the hit of the evening. My ribs had a good smokey flavor some parts were a little dry the BBQ ChickenWas flavorful and tender the sever/Cashier let us know she would be available for as long as we needed and that speaks volumes for customer service overall this is a good BBQ place of you desire that good ole country flavor on a burger to brisket, ribs, and more take a BBQ Break here and enjoy!

Not worth it when there are better options all around the area. The food portions are subpar, the sides come in the smallest containers and to top off my experience, they screwed up the entree order entirely. We ordered on Father's Day, well before a dinner rush and still had a long delay. The pulled chicken was over salted, collared greens were just bad, so poorly done, and the hush puppies were so deeply fried it wasn't worth it. The half chicken was the highlight. It was also the entree we didn't order. With all the barbecue places out here, go anywhere else. Unless you want a tiny half chicken and baked beans. The rest isn't worth the money or the experience. I wouldn't recommend this place for BBQ, to anyone.

The parking lot is confusing and not very disabled friendly. I didn't park where the restaurant worker thought I should ( it had blue striped paint in the space beside and a cement parking bumper at the front of the space). I thought I was in a handicapped space. She yelled at me when we first walked in the door. I said I thought I was parked correctly. She kept insisting that I was blocking other spaces. I looked around and realized it was the dinner hour and there were only 2 couples eating and my friend and myself. I said I didn't want to move my car because my disability made walking difficult and they weren't even busy so I wasn't blocking anything. She just kept insisting I was parked incorrectly. I said if I have to move my car I'm not coming back in. Do you want me to move the car? She thought about it for a few seconds and said no. The other 4 diners were taking this all in. In hindsight, I wish we had just left because the food was not good. My friend couldn't eat her dinner. I ate mine because I was so hungry but the potato salad was really bland, the beans tasted like they were from a can and had been doctored up, I have never seen hush puppies like the ones they served ( very strange) and the 1/2 chicken was doused in sauce. The only eating utensils are cheap plastic ones. For $24.00 I would at least like to have a more sturdy plastic fork and knife. The chicken was so coated in this sauce that I couldn't cut it because it just kept sliding around on the plate. What a mess! To top it all off the woman who had been yelling at me then started singing (loudly) behind the counter. Believe me when I say she is definitely not a singer. Then she came out into the restaurant and started dancing around and singing. Only my friend and I were still there. The other customers had left. I guess she thought that made it okay to put on a show. It was bizarre!!!!! We won't be going back.

My daughter and I ate dinner here tonight. She had the ham better homemade chicken tenders and hand cut french fries from the kids menu. I had the brisket with the collards and broccoli and hush puppy dinner. The food was tremendous. The staff here is amazing I would come here any time for some of the best barbecue in Hampton roads.

The barbque was ok. Pulled st Louis style. The onion rings were overcooked and soaked with grease. I have been sick with indigestion all afternoon. He got tuff greasy chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. They were covered in sugar! He is diabetic, so they went in the trash. Cole slaw was good. We won't be back.

Great barbecue and selection of sides. Service is behind the counter- they have a lot of takeout traffic. They are expensive.

It was my first time eating here, my husband's second time. I loved the chicken salad sandwich and was so happy to get fried okra as my side. I'll definitely be back...both were delicious. My husband's burger was a bit too greasy, but the sweet potato fries were perfect. I love to support local businesses as much as possible and Bubba n Franks is going to a regular now. (All employees were super friendly, too!)

Haven't posted in a while have been so busy however I could not go to bubba and Frank smokehouse and not leave a review. I went on a weeknight and it was fairly crowded but most people were getting to go. I have driven past this place hundreds of times and never thought to go in. My sister was visiting and Google barbecue restaurants nearby from my grandpa's and decided to give bubba and Franks a try. She tried it and her and my grandpa loved it so I decided to give it a try. My grandfather who is from North Carolina and was raised on a farm and raised and chopped PX said that this was some authentic barbecue so I decided to order the North Carolina barbecue, the Philly brisket with extra onions, hush puppies of course, and Brunswick stew. The cost of the food was about $40 which was fairly price considering who's getting home cooked food. I ordered the food to go instead of staying in because it was late on the weeknight and close to closing soon. I took the food home and unpacked and just took one bite and ended up eating almost all the food which I was supposed to be sharing with my grandfather the next day. I would definitely go back and take my friends with me. No it is not a fancy place but it is clean and the employees are nice.
