I've lived in this area for many years now and it's my first time to Brookdale Farm. I came here yesterday on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in hopes of picking some strawberries with my family. The place was hopping! Which got me confused when I saw the sign "U pick closed." Evidently they've been so busy with people picking strawberries they were pretty much picked over. They had a fun inventory of gifts, fresh produce, fresh dairy, drinks, jams, and candy. I will definitely be coming back!

My daughter and I stopped by here on our way to another you pick strawberry field. This is a annual thing for us so we carried our own baskets. The young lady informed us that they did not charge per lb but per basket. I had to purchase their basket. The fields were chock full of strawberries. Lots were sadly eating by bugs or just not good. The aisles were in need of weeding since some were just not walkable because of the bees that were feasting on the white clovers. So we just avoided those aisles. We did manage to pick 2 fill bucket of sweet smelling strawberries. The cost was a flat $ 25.00. Once home I washed them, most were really sweet. I packages some to share at work the next day. As I went to share them with co-workers. I found a bunch of small worms in the bottom of the bag. CRINGGGGGG!!

I think the best part of this farm was the ducks! They actually was talking back to me? They didn't have a lot of veggies and fruits, seem to be picked over. But they did have peach wood for the smoker!I also tried some chocolate zucchini muffin that was delish, not too sweet. But would I go back? Definitely...for the ducks!

We didn't notice the farm on our visit, so I'm only reviewing the strawberry picking portion. We came on absolutely the wrong day - it was blistering hot - almost 100 degrees - with not a cloud in the sky. We couldn't stay long, but still had a fantastic time! The strawberries were plentiful and large. They were the best I have ever tasted! They were incredibly juicy and crimson red all the way through the core of the berry. It was so wonderful I have not been able to buy grocery store strawberries since, as they now taste like cardboard in comparison. It was a blast to pick our own strawberries and the price of about $1.75 per pound a believe, was unbeatable. Strawberries for weeks! This is an awesome place to bring the kids for a day out, don't miss it!

The farm is super friendly and well organized. The seasonal picking of Strawberries is amazing this year. The weather is perfect and the berries are beautiful. This is a perfect spot to hit on the weekend with your family or during the week with some friends. I would also recommend making a trip to Bergey's Bread Basket next door for some delicious ice cream and fresh sandwiches!

We'd heard rave reviews of their pumpkin patch in the past, but this year the pumpkins in Chesapeake were hit hard by the weather so the selection was from Pungo. It was a good opportunity for us to talk with our son about where our food comes from, how weather affects our food, etc. He still had a blast roaming the lines of pumpkins for sale and playing in their playground on the tractor and hay bales. The staff was really gracious and really tolerant of his pre-school antics. We also bought some pumpkins, local honey, and jam, so all in all a success.

I love coming here year after year to pick strawberries. This year was no different. We came back a few times because we just couldn't get enough :) We also visit in the fall for our pumpkins. No complaints here and we will keep coming back year after year for sure!

My family has visited for strawberry picking on a few occasions. We picked enough the last time to fill 13 gallon freezer bags and spent around $80. The strawberries are always plentiful and TASTY! The staff is very friendly. You can also purchase a bucket for a dollar or 2 to pick with. Only complaint is that the tractor ride/hay ride is too expensive. I'm sure it costs money and to keep it worth their wild for offering, but it's too expensive for my tastes.

Great pumpkin patch, with hay rides and a playground, perfect for kids. Pick your own pumpkins. They had tons to choose from, from tiny orange pumpkins to huge white "polar bear" pumpkins and every size and shape in between. The staff was very friendly. They also sell homemade pumpkin butter, jams and bbq sauce. We will definitely come back next year.
