I've golfed here since I was a kid, I enjoy the lay out of the course, greens were nice and fairways were decent, bunkers were full of water despite it having not rained in a week, but the staff has never been friendly or helpful and are often rude, even when I got lessons here as a gift I did one and stopped because the pro just wasn't friendly. It's sad this course has a lot of potential and the practice area is nice, but just have to get past the staff first.

Not bad for the price. The course is set up a little weird, but overall had a great time with my boyfriend hitting 18 holes. I'd recommend coming if you're a beginner.

I realize we are golfing in the off-season, but this course is not the place for serious golfers. Massive stretches without even a blade of grass, the contouring is a mystery (like its designed to puddle and collect water). Tee boxes aren't even level.... I had to keep searching for a spot where my feet were level with the tee to get a decent tee shot. Greens were full of leaves,... I could go on.The course is wide open - probably good for kids to learn on.

Bow Creek Family Golf is slated for closure by 2021 by the City of Virginia Beach. The city council can only figure on solving that area of the city that often floods with moderate rain by converting the course into a series of drainage lakes. Even the offer by the management company to cover up to half of the renovation expenses was not enough to spare Bow Creek as a functional golf facility. Were the council members open to simply creating a series of ponds on that property to solve the flooding issue, the reduction of available courses across the Southside of Tidewater might preserve the course for those that appreciate a compact neighborhood course for future golfers.

Bow creek has very good facilities but is shows that they put more care into those than the course itself. Although the greens are maintained very well the fairways might as well be roughs. I would not be going back here. Also the tee boxes are only half mowed and there are clipping all over to lose your balls. Poor review on bow creek.

They should change the name to "bow ditch" it's about 10% course and 90% swamp. They barely take care of this place, It hasnt rained in over a week and the bunkers are still full of water/mud. The main problem with this place is that they dont clean the fairways AT ALL, you can smash one right down the middle and still lose it in 100,000 leaves/mud. This course is basically useless from fall-end of spring. The greens are terrible no fringe at all, completely covered in leaves. Everything looks dead trees/ grass, theres trash all around the water hazards. I wish I could give this place a fraction of a star, the only way this place was remotely playable today was to tee the ball up 150-165 yards out and play every hole like it was a par 3. If it has rained in the last month or so it will be cart path only, even if you're a walker bring your muck boots. It reminds me of what what I would imagine a golf course would look like if the courses owner who once took pride in his work died and it was being passed down to his asshole kids but they were fighting over it so it got stuck in arbitration for 20 years but completely went to hell because no one took care of it. So, save your money even if its half price on golf now it's still not worth it.

The course is in rough shape right now but it's Winter so expect a lot of leaves in the fairways and unmaintained greens. With the cold weather it's not very busy. There's a lot of renovation projects happening that will be finished by Summer including a new pro shop.

Not bad for the price, it's a muni course and the city has other designs for the area so it's not at its best, but it's golf!

This course is terrible. It is called Bow Creek Family Center Golf Course. The "Family" portion of this name is a lie. We had 3 teenagers golf with us adults and were bothered every other hole by the "golf Marshall" This course is in HORRENDOUS condition in mid summer, something that is forgivable with decent customer service. Unfortunately, due to the rude and untrusting staff, our group will not be returning. I recommend paying the extra money to a course that cares about its condition and players.

Good local course for walking. Forgiving older course with lots of trees and some water. Price and clubhouse are ok.
