While Z's Baked Chicken was delicious... I just wished I had the foresight to ask for a breast when requesting white meat.

Hands down the Best soul food on this side of the water. We ordered through UberEats (to Va Beach) and it arrived nice & warm and fresh. A little pricey but you get a good portion of food unlike other places with the same prices but less food. I know I gained about 3 extra pounds from the food but it is so worth it!!

I am a strong advocate for supporting Black-owned businesses, but there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of basic customer service and care I experienced. We have to do better.I live in San Diego and only came to Virginia for training. Unfortunately, my previous dining experiences here were disappointing. When my flight was rescheduled, I decided to give it one last shot before leaving. A friend recommended this place, so we went. The seating arrangements were decent, and shortly after sitting down, a woman named Turks introduced herself as our server--though she initially claimed to be the manager.I asked for the salmon bites and the crab cake, which Turks recommended, saying it was her own recipe. My friend ordered wings and fries, and Turks suggested a signature dish that included fish, shrimp, corn on the cob, broccoli, and a crab cake. The appetizers arrived, and while the salmon bites weren't bad, the first bite of the crab cake was off it was wet inside, like it hadn't been properly fried. We immediately informed Turks, and her response? "I'll let the manager know," even though she originally claimed to be the manager. That was the first red flag. When the main dishes arrived, I had a couple of shrimp and some broccoli and within moments, I became violently ill. I had to rush outside and barely made it three shops down before throwing up into a dumpster. I have never experienced food poisoning before, but this was terrifying. My friend ran after me to check on me and informed the staff what was happening. And this is where my outrage reaches its peak not a single employee, not even the so-called "manager" Turks, came outside to check on me. Not one. The complete disregard for my well-being was appalling. After regaining myself, I went back inside to ask for the check. The front desk employee informed the manager what had happened and that we wanted to pay and leave the rest of the food. Instead of showing even the slightest concern, the manager grabbed the food, took it to the back, and charged me the full $98.15 without hesitation. I paid without question, but the lack of human decency here is absolutely disgraceful. This experience was beyond disappointing it was infuriating. Supporting Black-owned businesses should not mean accepting subpar service, lack of accountability, and outright neglect. And yet, situations like this are exactly why some of these businesses struggle to survive. You're all about making money? Fine. But at any cost? I could have collapsed right outside, and not a single person in that establishment would have cared.I am a stranger in Virginia, but hospitality should be universal. This business clearly doesn't value its customers, and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Visit at your own risk!!!

I held off writing this review at first because I reached out to the owner. We had a terrible experience at the restaurant, the service is the worst I have ever received. While the food was good enough, (although on the salty side), the lack of customer service will ensure we NEVER return. My husband's meal never arrived, and all attempts to get a waiter or staff member was ignored. Finally, we got a hold of someone and let her know, she spoke to the supervisor/manager who didn't bother to address us. When our initial waitress came back, we told her and she said the kitchen never let her know that a certain item for his order wasn't available so we fell through the cracks. We asked for a refund of his order and it was completed by the same supervisor that was told earlier that our food never came! However, it got worst, because I reached out to the owner and sent her a detailed email of what happened. Especially the fact that once the manager was aware, she should have handled the situation instead of us having to wait another 20mins. The owner never responded. Not an apology not an explanation. Which means her terrible attitude and lack of customer service has been translated to her staff, hence the terrible service we received. It now makes sense why most people were placing to-go orders.

We met friends here at 7. By 7 Boss Queens is a lounge with benefits. lol. The food was great. I ordered and devoured Jill's from Philly egg rolls that needed no introduction or sauce! I added 2 of my favorite sides. The egg rolls are considered "starters" but they are so filling that they had a starring role in my belly. The Mac n Cheese and collard greens deserved an Oscar for being in the supporting cast. I ordered 2 Whiskey Sours, because Happy Hour ended at 9. Not bad all!! Delish.

The service was excellent. I over heard someone say that it takes a long time for the food to come out. But I believe you either want fast food that's microwaved and nasty for food done right that's dropped in the fryers fresh and served hot. So we f you don't mind waiting a bit for food done fresh and right then this is the place for you. The only draw back was it was cold as an ice box in there. I wanted to put my puff coat back I as soon as I took it off. So you may want to layer up when you during winter season.

Baby, where do I even begin? Went on a whim one day, not expecting much and to my surprise Boss Queens is just that, the QUEENS! Everything was A1 from the ambiance, the service, the food, the whole experience was Top Tier Chef's Kiss. If you haven't been yet and you're in the VA area what are you waiting for? You need to get your butt down to Boss Queens Soul Cafe, thank me later! :-*

I've had Boss Queens via Door Dash but this was the first time I've sat in ate here. After a small wait we were seated. The table was very clean but heavy Clorox smell and remnants from the layer of wetness on the seat and table. Note: Clorox takes a while to dry, probably should have hit it was a dry towel afterwards. We ordered drinks in food straight away. My husband ordered the tenielle Mac & cheese. This was a hearty portion of seafood mac which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the shrimp and chicken wing meal, sweet potatoes with mambo sauce on the side. Chicken and shrimp was fried well, but the sauce tasted like bbq sauce to me. The server got me another but it was the same. So she recommended the honey garlic. This sauce was really good. Not sure if I'll be back in person because it's out of the way for us but I don't mind ordering DoorDash.

I am very impressed with the progress this establishment has made over the years. They are in a new location and it is amazing. The food is still amazing the service is friendly, the drinks are strong and the music is always hitting. Absolutely everything on the menu is delicious even the desserts. At first entry the place looks like an adult lounge but we have dined in enough times with young kids and they have always had a great time. There is security here so leave your foolishness and pew pews at home. You will be wanded and dismissed. There is ample parking and the parking lot has plenty of cameras. You will not be disappointed with the food here. Happy Eating Yeeps!!!

I have heard some amazing things about this spot, so since we made the journey back to Norfolk we had to pop in. We lucked up on their reverse happy hour from 6p-9p (Tuesday-Thursday), we got a margarita and Long Island for $6 a piece they were well made. Service was quick and everyone was polite! The vibe in here is everything I need in a soul food spot, great music and all. Now food, I got the fried catfish with mac and candied yams with a corn bread. Everything was good on my plate and I would order it again. So far this is the best soul food I've had in VA! The catfish was fried perfectly, mac was so cheesy with the 7 cheeses, and the candied yams were the perfect sweet touch! My husband got fried turkey leg with cabbage and mac, the turkey was good and fried with a good crunch. I would for sure recommend this spot and that's saying a lot for a VA spot.

Wayy too overpriced for what it is, vibe was cute but music was wayy too loud. And the food was like a 2/10. Service was horrible as well, we sat for an hour and a half. The cornbread was bussin tho.
