We are in town on vacation from Pittsburgh. We had some friends over last night and got number one blue crabs. They tasted wonderful! It was fun having that experience with some friends. We got too many. We had less adults than we thought but didn't eat as much as we got. We had six of us eating and had a whole bushel. A half would've been just fine. Next time we will know as it was our first time ordering them ourselves without somebody else placing the order. But again, the crabs tasted great! Not too much seasoning or anything ... just right. The woman who took our order on the phone was very nice. Since we got it to go we don't know what the atmosphere was like at the restaurant/market. But based on the phone call I would say it was great. This was maybe the closest and one of the only places you can order blue crabs from and pick them up. I recall we had a hard time finding somewhere to get them.

Great place to get fish and seafood. We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so when we are here for our week in the summer. The price of a dozen 1 males is half what we pay in DC!!!Tip- call in the morning and pick up already steamed at dinner time (steaming costs a tiny bit more, but no clean up when they do the work).

Best fresh blue crabs around...Lots of other seafood choices and fresh produce as well...Service is great!

Made a large order via phone of steamed crabs, clams and mussels the day before. Lady was so helpful and detailed. Order and pickup went smoothly. The crabs were delicious. We cooked the clams and mussels all were very fresh and all of them opened. Highly recommend!

Update:There seems to have been a miscommunication as we got a call after 1 asking if we were coming to pick up our crab order. They put our order to the side for us and I'm not sure where the mix up was, but we have our 3 dozen.We've been going to Bonney and Sons for years. I've always love their #1 crabs and have never had an issue. The seasoning was great, service fantastic, and the crab tasted amazing. We've always usually gotten bushels or half bushels. The place isn't hard to find and everyone is always in good spirits when we go in. I also like that they have everything where you can see it and other seafood items so that if you want things besides crab, you can get them.This last time with Bonney and Sons wasn't the best experience. I called to order 3 dozen #1 blue crab for 12 pickup. Had I not called to check the price 40 minutes before, we would have shown up for nothing as they only had one dozen #2s left and hadn't saved any for our order or had miscounted how many they got. It's early in the season and I get that, but I'm disappointed in the way this went down. They haven't necessarily lost my business, but I'm going to widen my options for who we get blue crab from for a bit after this. They did ask if we wanted the dozen #2 and I said no just because that's not what we wanted.

Had a delicious dinner of Jumbo blue crab. Perfectly steamed and seasoned. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Showed us how to get all the meat out. Highly recommend Bonney and Son Seafood. Buy local, eat local!

I see some people have made comments about the personality, hours open, etc... I had no issue with any of those items. We bought 4 dozen "large" steamed crabs from them - pre-ordered. When we arrived they said they were finishing steaming them. Waited 5 minutes and the big box was brought out. My cousin carried the box out to back of car. When we got to house I carried the box out and noticed it was ice cold. I thought that was awfully quick for them to cool down, but brought box in for our family of 10. Crabs were ice cold and tiny. Complete disaster. Restaurants can have off nights, bad service or things they can not control. However, to first lie and say you are finishing steaming the crabs and just outright fake it and wait 5 minutes to make it seem like they are fresh and sell a product that you clearly know was not ordered is not a "bad night." That is inexcusable. I don't challenge anyone who has written a positive review of this place in the past, but not just as a Baltimore boy growing up on crabs, but as a consumer I would never, ever give this place another chance. I implored my cousin to call his credit card company because as you can imagine multiple dozen of "large" crabs was not cheap. He was in vacation mode and just didn't want the hassle so I can't fault him. I did call the next morning and the person I spoke to acted as if they were genuinely distraught about hearing our experience. They said an owner would be calling me back and they would want to make it right. Surprise, surprise, no call ever arrived. Stay away! JC

Hometown place that is welcomingand provides tasty clams and hard to open oysters. I'll be buy :)

This location has stood the test of time! Has been here since I was a kid and I finally went in to try it. The staff seemingly are family members affiliated with this establishment. The seafood is reasonably priced and I got mussels and Red snapper fillet. Surprisingly no grit, and the snapper was plump and was so fresh with none of that fishy decomposed taste, I will be back to support this local business.

We bought a dozen live crabs (#1) for $45. We had a wonderful experience. We called ahead of time and the lady was friendly. We drove down and were greeted when we walked in and everyone was super friendly and super helpful. They assisted us with the blue crabs and answered all of our questions and also told us about the other offerings they have (mussels, lump crab meat, jumbo lump, seasonings etc). The crabs were fresh and the service was great! We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back.
