We stopped here on the way to Chincoteague. It's not what you would expect. It's tiny with a small representation of what they sell. But the owner was very very friendly and knowledgeable. I believe she bought the place a few years ago. There were no tastings but it was also November - off season. They have bloody mary mix, all sorts of dip spices, peanuts and even pasta and vodka sauce and olive oil. I don't really know what I expected....maybe more retail and not just Blue Crab. Some of the items were very expensive!! We all walked away with something but I wish there was just more......

You don't need to visit Virginia to enjoy Blue Crab Bay seafood products. They are widely available these days. My wife used their items in gift baskets years ago when she had a retail store in NJ. One trip down to Chincoteague, we took a side trip to visit them. I recall that it was in Onancock, on the Chesapeake's Eastern Shore. I really like their seafood chowders. And some Chesapeake Bay spice mix would be worth a try.

I crossed the border into Virginia and stopped at the welcome center. An acquaintance of mine wanted Virginia peanuts so at the center they were giving tastes of the product. The peanuts they served were delicious. So, I stopped since it was on my route I plan on stopping on my next trip this week. They had a large selection of peanuts with different flavors, cookbooks, dish towels with crabs. Yes, dish towels. They are the best I have gotten in quite a while. I love them especially since they have crabs on them. They have crab chowder. Spices. Mixes for cocktails and other crab paraphernalia. I personally have not seen their product around my area though. It is a nice place to stop on the road. It is on a side street so watch for the sign. Not a highly populated area. You could buzz right past it. If going by I recommend a stop.

Wonderful little shop I visited while on vacation. I absolutely love the plates and other dishes on display. Of corse I can understand people complaining about the price but my suggestion; buy in bulk! I was able to get a very nice full set for my kitchen and they were nice enough to add a bit of a discount in for my sake. Customer service over email is quick and responsive as well.

Never have paid 7 bucks for a can of warm milk. Or should I say their she crab soup. What a huge disappointment. They call themselves specialty foods? Wow! Don't waste your money! Overpriced and horrible taste.
