What a great experience!! Stan responded nearly instantly, remained in contact and responsive with my questions up until the end when we boarded his boat. We had wanted to give a birthday gift of a fishing trip to grandpa and one of our kids and we're going to be in the area and we're so happy we found Blind Date Charters. The boat was great, we caught a bunch of fish and the kids and adults had a wonderful time. We did the 1/2 day which was perfect for our group considering we had kids. I highly recommend doing a charter with Stan. He was knowledgeable and so nice and we felt safe the entire time (former military/coast guard).

The fish weren't biting on our 4 hr afternoon trip but Stan kept it interesting by giving us more information on the things we saw in Chesapeake Bay. We were fortunate to see a lot of "common" dolphins and we enjoyed the boat ride.

Captain Stan Gold was an amazing host to our group of 5 ladies and one excited doggie. Our half day tour saw blue fish and spanish mackeral, and a near cloudless cruise on the water. Mom was able to board the boat easily with her disability, and the puppy enjoyed free roaming and fish inspection. We had a great time and would highly recommend Blind Date Charters.

If you want to experience Virginia fishing at it's finest, you must book a charter trip with Blind Date Charters! I was in town for a week and booked an 8 hour fishing trip and was not disappointed. I was looking for a smaller boat with only a few other people so I could have plenty of opportunity to learn and have a shot at catching a cobia! Stan was friendly, professional and genuinely seemed interested in teaching me! He was up front about asking what I was expecting so that he could match the day with what I wanted to do. After hearing about his experience with the coast guard, I felt very safe on the boat and knew I was in good hands. Pricing was very fair and I would absolutely recommend this experience! Although catching fish is never a guarantee, Stan is very knowledgeable about where to go to give you the best chance possible. I was not let down by the different types of fish we caught that I was able to bring home. Thank you to Blind Date Charters!

Whether you are looking to catch flounder, drum and cobia in the bay or going deep for sea bass, tiles, barrel fish and groupers, Captain Stan is your man. His years of experience give him an edge over many other local captains. His equipment is top notch, and his boat is a fishing machine. I'd highly recommend this charter!

Talk about a unique fishing experience in Bay! On this trip, we targeted Cobia, but ended up with 6 baby sharks, 2 sting rays and a flounder! We only got to keep a Sting Ray because the ones weren't in regs for size. I love fishing and have done alot of it as a kid, but I have never had an opportunity to catch a sting ray! I'm primarily a lake and river fisher woman. BTW..Google says that there are tons of recipes for sting rays so if you are all about catching your own food and wowing your friends with a unique dish, grilled sting ray may be the way to go. On this trip, we went out and anchored in the Bay. It was a bit choppy but overall a decent ride out there. I have spent some time out at sea, so I can quickly find the best riding part of a boat (usually center aft). However, if you are not an experienced sea going person, you might want to ask for a good seat to prevent yourself from puking if you are prone to sea sickness. Capt. Stan is really accommodating in helping beginner and experienced fishermen get comfortable. If you don't know ANYTHING about fishing, you will certainly learn! We were new to fishing in the Bay and we learned a lot about bait, fishing poles, boats, and all sorts of information about where the fish hangout to maximize fish catching. The Captain generally does most of the work for you, and you get reel in your catch. So if you are not a fan of touching squirmy bait or sticking your hand in a Shark's mouth to retrieve a hook, you don't have to. If you are looking for a unique fishing experience, you need to call Capt. Stan and book a trip. Prices are very reasonable, you never know what you'll catch in the Bay, you'll enjoy an awesome boat trip AND you will definitely learn a lot about fishing. I had great company and great fish action, what more do you want from a fishing trip!?Next up....will be looking to go after some Tilefish....word on the street is that they are tasty too.
