My family and I had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time due to the menu selections. We visited on 8/21/24 to celebrate a birthday. There were 5 of us and we were seated in a nice corner booth. That's about where the positives of our experience end. Service was not bad but was a bit slow. We started with appetizers and soup. The calamari had a very odd smoky flavor which is not what you'd expect from a fried item. Later the same flavor was present in the fries leading me to believe that either the oil desperately needed to be changed or something was in the fryer being cooked into carbon all day. The French onion soup was fantastic. It was the only good thing to come to our table. My sister took one bite of her scallops and chose not to finish any of the rest due to the taste and consistency. My wife had a French dip and it was the saddest, thinnest, most unappetizing looking French dip I've ever seen. She too took a few bites and gave up on eating it. My father had the burger and he ate about half of it. He had no specific complaint but was clear it was not a very flavorful burger. My stepmother had the steak and it was a VERY fatty cut filled with gristle and low on flavor. I tried a bite of it and was thoroughly disappointed. Finally I ordered the special, baby back ribs. I am a big fan of ribs and asked several questions before deciding to order them. The flavor of the sauce was fine but they were a bit tough and very dry. They were so dry they took all the moisture out of my mouth with my first two bites. I consumed about two ribs before throwing in the towel on trying to eat them. They tasted like they had been cooked 2 days prior and were simply warmed up. The only thing enjoyable was the soup. Most of the dishes presented well but had terrible flavor or were dry or rubbery. 5 people $359 before tip. Not one entree was enjoyed. My advice would be to skip this place. They spent a lot on the decor but the food is not remotely of the quality that the pricing should dictate.

The many times I visited sweet frog on Great Neck road, Black Angus always caught my attention. And today was the day. Reservation was made early this week, arrived 1 minutes early and was seated right away.Service was quick!!! Led by Thomas with assistance from the rest of the crew. Ambiance is as expected for this type of restaurant. Table settings was on par with the decor, not over powering but enough to strike a conversation from the decor. Love the huge mirror on the center of dining area. As for the meal... she crab soup was littered with crab meat and not just crab flavored fish or some sort of crab looking thing. For me, if I had the recipe for the she frab soup, I would mix some al dente linguine pasta and call it a day:-)))) it was that good. Soup was so good, I had to try the onion soup as well. This one hit the soot as well. The gruyere cheese and caramelized onions was plentiful. Love it!!!!!! 15 minute break... and ordered the main.Prime rib with baked potato!!! Thick, juicy, and very tender. Used a butter knife vice steak knife:-)))) I havent done this in a while but I had to split the rolls and wipe the plate then dipped it into the au-jus:-)))) Needless to say, what a meal!!!!!!!Definitely worth the visit and will visit again!

We went popped in last minute and were lucky enough to get a table for two. The drinks were flavorful and they have an amazing bourbon selection (50+).The crab dip appetizer was tasty with homemade chips. Our meals were plentiful and cooked to perfection. There was no room left to try their desserts, but will try to save space for our next visit.

Tiny but mighty! Delicious wedge salad came split between us as requested. I got the calf's liver and it was good but not the best I ever had due to being too thin but it was tasty. The Mac and cheese was pretty amazing! Hubby got the shot ribs that were enormous and tender. He opted to add on the caramelized onions that were delicious. He commented the gravy was a tad salty but he never salts anything. Service was excellent. We will return!

New restaurant to us. Decided to try them during restaurant week. We arrived about five minutes prior to our reservation and were promptly seated. My wife and I both tried the $55 menu and ordered steak for the main course. Appetizers (meat balls) came out readily and were quite tasty!. Our steaks came out a while later and our orders were served to us in reverse. The waiter who took the order and delivered them knew we ordered different temperatures. We switched plates and my wife's steak was too under cooked for her. Her steak was returned to the kitchen and came back a bit later. When the waiter asked how it was, she stated it was over cooked and showed him. He stated, "We knew you wanted it more well done." No, she ordered it medium, not well done. It initially arrived more medium rare than medium. I ordered medium rare and while it initially landed at her place, it was at the proper temperature for me. On a somewhat positive note, the deserts were fantastic even though the coconut cake (her favorite) was unavailable. I had high hopes we had found a really good steak restaurant, but am now quite disappointed. The service was a bit slow. At this price point, I expected better from the kitchen and at the table.The restaurant was moderately noisy as the tables are in close proximity, but we could still hold a conversation.

The food was unbelievable tenderest filet mignon I've ever had in my life! Awatif is a fantastic bartender and waitress. The owner came out and checked on everything. It is a beautiful little oasis of culinary delight. You're missing out on a great thing if you haven't been there.
