Oh my lord. We are visiting some relatives in Chesapeake and stopped here for breakfast. First let's start with Southern hospitality. These are the nicest staff I have come across anywhere. It's an order yourself and the bring it to your table place. The food is full your belly good . Plus I started coughing and an employee brought me a cup of water unasked. This place is close to Hyatt Place and is a must go to if you're in the area breakfast time.

Arrived at Biscuit Belly a few minutes after opening on Saturday morning. I saw the mixed reviews and wanted to see for myself. I specifically came when I thought they wouldn't be busy, one because I am not a fan of crowds, and two the less than good reviews seemed when they were the most busy. The menu is a little overwhelming, two full sides of so many delicious items. I settled in on the smoke show, it comes with hash browns or cheese grits. Instead of those choices, I opted for a side of fried Green tomatoes and bacon for an up charge. I also ordered two espressos. They were both doubles which I combined and made my own latte by adding half n half, only $5, wingood. It is expresso from a machine so there was that. Still satisfying. The Smoke Show was super delicious. It didn't look like a lot of food, but looks can be deceiving because it filled me up. The bacon was thick and quite good. The fried Green tomatoes were good, especially with the sauce, but they were thin, more breading than tomato so I didn't get that nice Green tomato tang. Still quite good.I got to meet Jessie who brought my drinks. She was wonderful. It was the Christmas season and she had a Green dress with jingle bells, which kept me smiling.I really liked the decor. It was clean and bright. The food is exceptional, especially if you compare it to an IHOP or Dennys. It is miles above either. And I like the concept, you order your food at the counter. They give you a number you put into the box on the table. And they bring your food when it is ready. You serve yourself your own water. Really like Biscuit Belly in Chesapeake!

I was really excited to check this place out when I saw all the amazing reviews.I had a friend fly into town from Florida and three of us decided to ditch the husbands and go to brunch! So unfortunately, it is a really rainy day and we didn't realize that you could not wait inside and there's nothing to protect you from the rain so unless you wanna lose your spot in line, you just gotta get wet or go somewhere else. There was only around two other people in front of us three so we just kind of stood there right outside their door on the sidewalk getting rained on, instead of going somewhere else, cause I really wanted to try this place out and talked it up to my friends! It was a bit weird because there was so much room to stand on the inside, but the door lady would not let us in, and there was nobody behind us the whole time we were waiting. The restaurant was not too busy that day, but the staff seems like they were overwhelmed.I was thinking, dang all of us should not have done our hair! Eventually, she let us come in, and we stood in line and waited to order. My two friends ordered first, and they were finding a table I ordered and I wanted to get all three of us orange mimosas but they said that they were out of orange juice so I had to get pineapple or strawberry only. So I ordered two pineapple and a strawberry mimosa, but was kind of reluctant because we like the regular orange flavor! I was thinking how odd! We noticed that people were getting orange mimosas around us that came in after us and were getting orange juice as well! So that kind of put a damper on our mood. The strawberry and pineapple mimosas didn't taste bad, but they also didn't taste good either, they had a very artificial pineapple and strawberry flavor.I also ordered a bloody Mary with no ice because I wanted more tomato juice, my bloody Mary came out half filled, so I'm guessing I was not allowed to have more than a few ounces of tomato juice. The wait staff was on edge. I'm not sure if they were understaffed that day, but I asked to get some water and there was no smile or anything just like a nod over to the ice machine and she said go get it yourself, so I did, on a positive note they have the good ice.I also got some extra ice to add to the sad Bloody Mary so it was at least full glass. I didn't take a picture of it before I added a ton of ice to the bloody Mary but you could kind of see the picture where the juices and where the ice is. It didn't even taste like there was any vodka in it. It's almost like they forgot to add it. My friend got an espresso martini, and that was served less than half full in an orange juice glass. We almost thought they forgot our meal orders cause it took quite a long time for us to get our food, and the place was not even full. The inside out omelette was ok, and the breakfast board didn't have anything to write home about, regular tasting sausage, regular tasting fried eggs, the side of bacon was kind of floppy not crisp at all so that didn't really get eaten, fried green tomato's were a bit soggy, they were cut very thin and when fried turned to mush, the biscuit didn't really even get eaten, it was kind of stale tasting not warm and moist like we were expecting. The breakfast bowl was sadly flavorless. The potatoes were not crispy at all, and there was absolutely no flavor in the spinach or mushrooms. It was like cooked and wilted with no seasoning. The only thing that saved it was the little bit of goat cheese that was sprinkled on top and myself dousing it all in hot sauce. Not sure if it was an off day but this would not be my first choice for brunch.

Tried this place this morning after a bunch of people recommended it. I got the GOAT which was chicken with goat cheese and a sweet pepper jelly and a cappuccino. The coffee came out super fast eventhough it was super busy. The food came out within 10 minutes. It was phenomenal. They did not skimp on goat cheese or the jelly. The cappuccino was also delicious. Will def be back to try more soon!

Yum! Very cute and happening place. I met a friend for brunch this past Sunday and was impressed. It's casual. You seat yourself then order at the counter and are given a number to put on your table. Your food/drinks are brought out. They have a huge menu with lots of options and they had a few seasonal drinks and biscuits. Hello fall and pumpkin/apple flavors! They had some healthy/vegan items as well as all the decadent Southern staples you love to hate (or hate to love) - like chicken and waffles, sausage gravy, tons of breakfast biscuit sandwich combos, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, etc. I had a shaken sweet iced espresso and it was DELISH. Not too, too sweet but still a treat. As well as the Boozy Bird sans the extra booze shot. So mine was essentials a biscuit with fried chicken and a side of maple syrup. Biscuit was delicious and fluffy and warm and the chicken was great. I saw other combos that looked wonderful but, still trying to lose the last 10 lbs of baby weight so.... not right now. We sat for about 2.5 hours catching up and had no issues.I used the restroom and they have two nice, clean restrooms with a baby changing station. Important. I like this new and bustling part of town. Will come back for sure, trying to get my husband to come back soon!

Our hotel was near Biscuit Belly so there was no way we weren't going to see what this place was all about. We arrived around 11am and there was a bit of a line inside but the cool part is that you actually wait on line to order your food at the counter and they then bring it to your table. We had a friend in our party secure a table for us (bc it's self serve first come first serve seating) and she then texted us what she wanted to eat. While we were on line we saw that if you sign up for their app you immediately receive a code for a free order of Bonuts so you know we did it (and the Bonuts were delish). The fried green tomatoes were flavorful and the dipping sauce they were accompanied with took them up a level. The cheesy grits were actually some of the best I've ever had and they needed not a single thing added to them. The Momma's Boy biscuit sandwich was good, however, the biscuit wasn't all that I expected ... especially since the restaurant has biscuit in its name. But the overall array of flavors of the sandwich worked very well together and I can see why folks love having breakfast / brunch here.Lastly; the staff is all super friendly and helpful and that energy totally matches the vibe and ambiance of the place!

Went here with the family to bring more family here as we've enjoyed this place in the past. I've genuinely enjoyed the food but this last visit just straight peeved me off. Went here during prime time brunch hour - Sunday brunch. While I was in the line (was to the door), I noticed that folks that would come in, sit down, then send someone else to order. Me thinking this was a good idea, we sat outside and waited for a table to appear and I would sit there. When two tables cleared, I went to sit down and the lady that was there said that I was only able to sit there if I had placed an order. To be fair, I was a bit peeved because I had noticed others doing it. To be compromising, (and not dime out others) - I went ahead and placed an order for coffee and some fried green tomatoes in an effort to be a patron while my parents walked in from the parking lot and still retain a seat. Now at this point I was getting quite frustrated.. why? Because our seats were directly in front of the cashier and while I was ordering a lady had just walked in, sat down at the table adjacent to us with her kids while her husband got in line to order. Apparently, there no enforcement there - just to me because I was noticed? Idk.If this were the only instance, I honestly would've let this all go. However, when I was sitting down with my daughter, the lady who went to deliver my initial order looked at someone and asked where this order goes. She pointed to my table and as she was putting them down, she was snarky and muttered "wooooowwww.." So now, I'm already frustrated as I tried to meet the policy in the middle.. I don't need people to be straight up a-hats. While sitting there I had a clear view of the kitchen. Please explain to me why it's ok for these folks to not wear hair nets and in one instance, an employee tossed hash browns at another employee. Watching how some folks would rotate between the front and back between handling money and food made me question some of the sanitary guidelines I'm sure they're regulated to follow. Now to be fair to the establishment - there are small signs on the table that say, you should place your order prior to sitting down. I never saw them until we had all our food. I'll own that. Regarding the policy - either enforce it with a sense of urgency and add signs at the front or don't single out people. Let alone don't gossip and further escalate. Will I come back? Possibly. Next time I'll wait, just like everyone else, but seriously management - step up.Food Taste: 4Overall Service: 1Value of food to cost: 4Facility: 5Ambiance: Very modern breakfast location, nice and clean while being inviting and appealing all around. It's a fun layout that brings you in.Repeat customer: maybeDog Friendly: Maybe patio?

I was pleasantly pleased with my first time at Bisquit Belly. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The biscuit wasn't too dry it was simply delicious. Now the jam to me was a tad acidic but it wasn't nasty by any means. Loved loved the home fries, they were seasoned and cooked exceptionally well. I also had the sausage patties and scrambled eggs which were tasty also. My husband had the home fries, a busicuit with sausage as well and scrambled eggs and a small cup of gravy as well. Of course I signed up for their reward program and got the free bonuts "donut holes," they were too too sweet for me but I'm sure if my children were with us they would've loved them. Simply preference. We will definitely be going back because the food was great but the overall customer service was even better. I want to say the manager greeted is and asked had we dined there before once we said no she took the time to sort of explain the menu and even gave great suggestions as well.As we dined in for breakfast, we saw several small groups having team meetings while dining. This is a nice spot and they also have outdoor sitting capability as well on the side of the building.I highly recommend Biscuit Belly keep up the great work.

In town for a new grandbaby and turned out to be my daughter's first outing after giving birth several days before and before we leave town. I'm very conflicted with how to rate the experience. On several aspects it was the best breakfast we'd had in Chesapeake, yet the most disappointing on other levels. In summary I'll give it 3 stars and will return again with hopes/expectations it will achieve a 5 that it deserves.Cute place, very busy, and all the servers were dressed to convey a homy breakfast like you were at someone's home. Very nice. Cashier while nice wasn't particularly helpful/outgoing with information knowing it was our first visit. Coffee and Bonuts were a hit to get things started. Who could imagine a biscuit bit could be a sweet treat to get the ball rolling! I ordered the Belly Board with scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit and a biscuit (of course). Everything was good yet everyone who had bacon at the table agreed it was rather undercooked, floppy, about 50% of it was unappealing. We don't need it crispy, but when you pick it up our preference is for it to have some structure and not be a floppy resemblance of wet noodles. My wife ordered the same thing with a side of gravy which apparently means no jam for the biscuit (ok, we had enough to share). The true disappointment in the entire meal, for the woman who is out of the house for the first time since giving birth a few days before, was the utter failure of the avocado toast. While the toast was ok, the avocado appeared to be a very (i underscore VERY) thin smear of what seemed to be a prepared avocado spread, topped with two eggs that were utterly raw. Yes, runny yolks are fine, but the majority of whites were runny, drippy, and not at all appealing or appetizing. Much of the eggs were pushed out of the way to make room for the edible portion. While I've often seen bacon undercooked, I'm not sure I've ever seen eggs that undercooked. Add the fact there was no butter for any of the biscuits on the table (we had to go ask) and perhaps you can see my dilemma. Look forward to a return visit and updating with an improved review on our next visit to Chesapeake!

Yum- First time here and tried a few dishes! Food: Loaded Tots-Yum good flavor and loved the dipping maple mayo dipping sauce. Bonuts- Really good and the cream cheese dipping sauce very good! Also got the side of jam and that was good too! Biscuit Gravy Trio-Cute concept and loved the mini biscuits. The sausage gravy was my favorite and the mushroom was the runner up. Not the biggest fan of the cheese gravy. Pancake/Sausage corn dog kids meal. Came with home fries and all were very good! Service: Order at the counter and the woman behind the counter was sweet and answered our questions, since it was our first time there. You then go to a fountain drink station if you ordered a water or tea or fountain beverage. If you ordered a speciality beverage such as a coffee or mimosa they bring it or to you. Food came out pretty quick. Inside: Large space with high ceilings and lots of tables. Tables have napkins and silverware on them so that is nice. You are given a number to place on your table so the food runners can find you! They will also come at the end of the meal to clean the table.
